  2. Some pics of the car looking clean (for the briefest of moments!) over winter:
  3. It's in and working nicely. Didn't arrive til 11.15 yesterday, but things went pretty well thereafter. Might chuck some pics up tomorrow.

Short update - so made my return journey home this afternoon and the regen completed within 15 minutes of the start of my journey
  5. Instead of a repair costing up to £3000 why not seal the roof permanently closed from the outside and disconnect the electrics from the roof motor. You would still have a nice glass sunroof and sun blind to close if less light is needed at a fraction the cost of a repair and the knowledge that it would not happen again.

I've taken the plunge and ordered one of these. First Edition in blue, expected mid-March. Early delivery as the dealer had 3 coming for stock / demo.
  7. Hello Finaly i have done it with the help of Vagguide. https://m.facebook.com/vagguide/ My car is 2016 version , i had to change BCM and GATEWAY so that everything was functional. I had to replace the trim under the dashboard was well . This retrofit depends on the MY of the car , after MY17 i think you only need virtual cockpit.
  8. I just had to replace one of the sidelight bulbs on my 2009 Superb. There's a number of posts regarding sidelight replacement but I couldn't find one that specifically covered the sSperb in detail. So I thought i'd share my experience. 1. The sidelight accessible by removing the black rubber cover on the radiator side of the light housing. 2. Howver the space availble once the cover is removed is extremely limited - so if you have big hands this may be more of a challenge. 3. The bulb is a push fit type - yes it really is! No amount of twisting will assit the removal. In fact doing this too much may damage the connecting wires and you really dont want that to happen. 4. If ypou have a good feel around the light fitting you will detect two flat lugs or sides on it. Get familair with these because this is what you need to grip onto. 5. Now you can try to use brute force and ignorance to pull the bulb out of the unit. I found this extremely difficult - actually impossible, because; a) you may not be strong enough, b ) theres not much room to actually get leverage on the bulb unit c) the whole thing is counter to your strong-side hand, d) your scared that you will break something, e) you dont want to smash the back of your hand into the engine! 6. Take a breather, and psych yourself for the next bit. You need to keep the faith - but you will be rewarded. 7. Get familiar with the bulb fitting again and turn it slightly so that the lugs/flats are lying horizontally 8. Get a pair of long nose pliars and carefully get the tips under the lugs/flats. WARNING do not grip the wires. 9. Gently lever the bulb fitting. I found that the amount of movemnet required was suprisingly small. It just needs to "give" a little. 10. Voila! The bulb will now either be out of the unit or simply require a gentle tug or wiggle. 11. Do the dance in front of the car, as you the man/woman!! 12. Fit new bulb and test it. If ok push back the entire fitting. Job done.
  9. I had the pleasure of driving this at the weekend! (ps. No comments from police haters please - it's a job and someone has to do it. Remember this forum is just about the cars so keep it friendly please )
  10. So, have noticed the Superb doors open a lot wider than the Legacy's did. And have been close to hitting the wall capping on my drive, despise stuff like that. Solution now in place... Copper pipe insulation, pvc tape, long screws and washers so no chance of hitting the screw heads, sorted...
  11. The listed drop is from stock height. Vrs is already 15mm down so knock that off the quoted figures. The above is true for your H&R figure. Prokit numbers look like the original drop is already accounted for.
  12. Yes Lee. Seemed easier that way with the facilities I had. I'm not fond of peeing about with driveshafts when working near ground level. Last-minute snag with a fuel hose leak, only apparent once running, but solved with a foot of fresh stuff from a local factor.
  13. That was quick work Look forward to the pics.
  14. Thank you wino and Langers both have helped with repair information . For anyone reading this post in future wire break in cable Loom to abs unit, rubbed against abs unit. Mine had pin 1 red wire to fuse 4 cut through however could of happened to any cables in Loom depending on routing. Checked all circuits with continuity and 60 ohms can bus. All fixed and tested good.
  15. You've just triggered me. My two ibizas are very pretty (if you don't view them from the side) Ibiza should be a little lighter than VRS. as above it's probably just not in best condition, do it up for more power!
  16. She's only a year out of date. Bought my 1st skoda in December 2012 tdi Octy. Saw new shape Octy in showroom and thought they really had upped the pace. With all these issues I might be wrong.
  17. Pleased the mot went well. Always a releif !! With the rattle, it might not be as bad as you think. You know how it is with noises sometimes, once you've heard it, you really tune in to it. Still, be worth getting a second opinion though.
  18. Well, that’s what was in my footwell, lol. I’ve stopped the ingress!!! Don’t laugh ,I’m serious. I’ve stopped it on the driver side but now for the first time it’s leaking in the near side , how I stopped the leak on my particular pan roof is to fill the void between the roof and the first layer of the framework just behind the main seal. The seal is supposed to kick out the water Into the channel and down the Shute. Mine wasn’t doing this but the water which was supposed to be kicked out was finding it’s way behind the seal which leads to the cabin. Filling it full of black silicone has totally stopped the leak, I’m not saying that the captain tolleys trick hasn’t worked as I’m sure it has - it’s just that in my car it was a combination of leaks and I’m eventually managing to seal them all. To be honest I have looked at other vehs to px against, mainly the vw Tiguan as I’m not going to have another sun roof no matter what form it arrives in. One dealer was actually quite put out when I told him I wasn’t Interested in his Tiguan with a “fabulous “ pan roof, lol. There seems to be a variety of leaks in these models with the pan roof and I hope I’ve managed to cure mine. I will post some pics when I get chance to show the exact spot or spots.

Mick Martin thanks I am on there as well, your right this does seem a slightly unnecessary hostile forum compared to others I've used previously.
  20. Lol, cheers!! I'll walk away quietly...
  21. We still allow Golf R owners on Briskoda!
  22. It is good that there are choices. I have been 19 stone without a leg and am now back eventually to 16 stone and have has everything from Original Mini's before there was Motability it was Invalidity and went from Blue Trikes to Minis and then they started doing Metros. I started dealing in Mini Auto's back then bought at auction at 3 years old. The Autos available were pretty limited back in the 1970's that you could have from Motability with big advance payments. I nearly always have a small or smaller car and always a bigger one for towing car trailers as a minimum. Auto Volvo 343's, Daf's, Strada's, Clio's, Citigo, Iq, Picanto and Jimny autos suiting me well as i use my left foot to drive and do not change pedals from standard as that makes going from car to car very easy. PS The ASG in the Citigo is the worst Automated Manual i have ever used next to ones in a Smart.
  23. You should have a few adaption channels like this: [19 - CAN-Gateway] [Adaptation - 10] Battery adaptation - Size (this may be something like IDE03256-MAS04490 Battery adaptation - Size) Select the battery Ah rating from the drop-down menu followed by [Do It!] and confirm [Yes] Battery adaptation - Manufacturer (this may be something like IDE03256-MAS03159 Battery adaptation - Manufacturer) Select the battery manufacturer from the drop-down menu followed by [Do It!] and confirm [Yes] Battery adaptation - Serial number (this may be something like IDE03256-IDE00010 Battery adaptation - Serial number) Type the serial number code from the replacement battery followed by [Do It!] and confirm [Yes] The Ah should be set correctly. The manufacturer and serial number don't matter too much, as long as the serial is different to the previous battery For example, mine are currently: IDE03256-MAS06105-Battery adaptation-Rated battery capacity,69 Ah IDE03256-MAS06106-Battery adaptation-Battery technology,EFB IDE03256-MAS06107-Battery adaptation-Battery manufacturer,JCB IDE03256-MAS06108-Battery adaptation-Battery Serial Number,1111111111 You can either set them manually if the tool allows, or try and use the guided function with made up data (apart from Ah!)...
  24. Also, most of the PD130 engines make closer to 150 BHP standard so in reality they're much closer than they appear. If only the Ibiza weren't so damned ugly.
  25. At a guess, check "Road sign detection fusion mode" in A5 is set to "Road sign fusion"... Otherwise, you'll need to find out how to add an autoscan and adaption maps from OBDeleven
  26. The manufacturer and codes aren't that important. It's just so the battery management system knows it's a new battery... As long as the capacity is right, it should be fine. Assuming the old battery and new are similar, just add one to the serial number
  27. That's my old 18" Gemini that Andy (Auric G) was putting in his spare wheel well. It fitted in mine with a 225/40/18 Bridgestone S001a tyre on it, and wasn't visibly pronounced. Passed on to Andy after I traded the vRS in, putting the space saver kit back in it. Gaz
  28. It happens in the UK all the time. Vauxhall, Ford & VW Group first registering cars to stay in the top 5 or 10 for a quarter or a year. Also so that cars that are pathetic sellers will have the manufacturer / importer first register at least 50 in a month so that buyers of new cars are not put off ordring. This also helps manipulate the Parkers / Autotrader type guides on Used car prices as they are actually new cars then sold as Used. They were only new to the Manufacturer. Skoda will be making sure there are Media Cars, cars sold or leased to the Emergency Services / Fleet, Hire Car Companies at special prices not available to private buyers. Keep turning these around regularly and bump the numbers of cars First Registered and then Used cars into the market. Have the 'Sales tables' looking good when it is 'First Registered' and not actually 'Cars sold' other than to The Manufacturers themselves. Last year early in lockdown Vauxhall have 2 demonstrator e-Corsa out to each Dealership and 1 or 2 first registered and more being in transit but these never got First Registered and the cars ordered by Motability were not delivered. (Lots of Ex Demonstrator / Pre Reg e-Corsa sitting needing sold.) That did not stop the SMMT in the UK saying how high the Electric Car Sales were and how the percentage first registered was higher with EV's. That was TESLA and others doing Click & Collect, Delivery to your door and Vauxhall lending cars to the NHS or Front Line Staff. So much kidology goes on with First Registering, or as Skoda did a few years back 'Car Manufactured' to get them over a Million Cars sold in a year. They manufactured over 1 million maybe, but sold some of them to themselves / VW Group not to Paying Individuals..
  29. £30 per month is over £400 per year Adding £400 per year is rather more than nominal
  30. They are on the Skoda website.... As mentioned by 100andthirty go to: http://updateportal.skoda-auto.com/en-GB Enter your VIN Scroll down the webpage Download the UK logos Unzip them onto an SD card (not the maps card!) Scroll down further Under Steps it has a section for Import of radio station logos Insert supported medium (SD, USB.) into the slot of your infotainment system. Press "Radio" > "Settings" > "Station logos" and select requested station. If the station already has the logo assigned, you have to remove it. Select the medium with logo images and select desired logo. Repeat also for other stations. Now you can remove the medium from the slot. No idea, the MIB3 systems seem to be confusing everyone when it comes to updates. It might take a while until Skoda/VAG actually decide how it should be done... Sorry
  31. Indeed they are. Very few available on ebay or autotrader these days. I suspect many are scrapped as a result of the recent MOT emissions changes, and many because of the cost of a new clutch and dual mass flywheel. Doesn't really seem to be environmentally friendly.
  32. I was quoted £10,803 settlement and I suspect the trade-in value is somewhere between £11-12k. But who knows, as these figures are always a black art against what you’re buying. My instinct says flip sooner rather than later, but it must be a weird market right now.
  33. Liftback - no. 10 in the first picture Combi

If your car is 13 years old, the projector reflectors are probably shot. Check the condition of the reflectors and lens, replace as necessary Please don't use drop in xenon conversions, they are not road legal in the UK and cause glare to other drivers. They should also fail the MOT.
  35. Belt driven waterpump. I had my cambelt and waterpump changed by a local independent garage for £350. Make sure they use Gates which is the same as the original belt.
  36. I’d suggest a better use of time would be just leaning how to do these changes yourself. None of the ones you’ve listed are particularly difficult to achieve. Ditch the one touch apps.
  37. Hi, I am thinking of getting a PCH from them, do they still have good customer service? Any other Skoda dealerships you recommend for PCH deals?

As far as the heated seats go there was a Service Campaign for them and the switch which some owners were never made aware of by dealership staff. http://skoda-auto.com/services/recall-actions If outstanding it may show here. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/417427-heated-seats-a-burning-issue
  39. Turn off mirrors synchronous adjustment in the car- mirrors and wipers menu.
  40. I did this recently using my VIN and this official site: http://updateportal.skoda-auto.com/en-GB I did find that trying to update logos using the same SD card that contained the maps didn't work, so suggest you keep map updating and logo updating entirely separate
  41. Although the speedometer now shows a more accurate speed, you may find that the odometer is now inaccurate. Odometers are normally pretty accurate as standard, but speedos normally err on the optimistic side for legal reasons.
  42. According to previously attached VW update manual the drive must be formatted to NTFS. Makes no sense why not FAT, but that`s what they have put down.

Hi Everyone, We (EBC Brakes UK) have paid to join this forum as an alternative way to interact with our customers and potential users and to alleviate any issues you may encounter. We are not here to sell products or to advertise, purely to gather product feedback and assist users with any problems or application questions. Thanks
  44. I've such respect for this comment 😅 I haven't had a chance to get out and take a photo, but essentially I sandwiched small, layered amounts of duct tape between the sliding surfaces on the sides and at the top of the height adjuster. You could also use things like 'ring sizing tape' (which can be a faff to cut to size, but is thicker and provides a silicon damping effect). I'm pretty sure the noise comes from it moving in a lateral direction, rather than vertical (as it can happen on idle, especially with a billet lower engine mount).
  45. This for me as an almost daily driver.
  46. No problem. Just in case you think "it can't be the fuse cos the scanner made them work", that would be the other fuse.
  47. Is this a joke thread? Man goes into a doctors and says doctor can you take a look at my pen15, proceeds to flop said organ out whereupon doctor inspects it thoroughly and says she can't find anything wrong with, man replies: " I know, lovely isn't it ". It is now. Come back if it all goes horribly wrong.
  48. Seen on a french Skoda forum. Not mine :
