At last and after a long break - here's the latest update of my customised version of EUR Speedcams ( February, 2021). They consist of the full EUROPE speed cameras which I've split up into four consolidated poi categories i.e. Fixed Speedcams, Average Speedcams, Variable Speedcams and Redlight Speedcams. They come supplied with my own preferred personal choice of icons, shown below, to match each of the categories. Remember to Install them as I explained in the first post in this thread i.e. after extracting the zip file remember to open the newly extracted folder and place only the PersonalPOI folder and metainfo2.txt file onto your sd card ( Please Note: a usb stick will not work! ). Also, please remember to select/tick the relevant newly added poi categories and the poi audible warning alert in your infotainment map menu settings after performing the update or they will not display on your map or audibly alert you. It'll depend on the tuner. You don't need to remove the fix but it seems recommended. Assuming there is an easily available pre fix update for your ECU, it shouldn't take long to revert it. Probably worth speaking to your tuner to see what they do based on your ECU.

Doesn't ring a bell to be honest... The fuel pipe rattle is above 2K (around 2400-2800) so at 1500rpm doesn;t seem to be it. A video could help but in any case as it's such a new car you should always have it checked with your dealership if you feel it is really something that feels wrong.

£60 is cheaper than eBay's prices for the display. You can probably list the headunit with your old display and sell it for £60+ making the repair free If you do want to just replace just the LCD panel, I think it'll be this: https://www.cars-equipment.com/en/shop/parts-8/oem-lcd-navigation-display-7inch-for/ Based on the C058GVT03 part number, it's ~£90 with shipping on eBay or ~£30 with shipping on Aliexpress. They are the seats I shall be getting from Allan bud. I did want to keep it as OEM looking as possible and have original switches and use golf wiring. But I think I'm going to get the wiring and switches from a golf and put the switches in the ashtray. Just have it as that for the time being then think about changing it in the future. The car I'm picking up has factory sunroof, cruise and rear sensors. So want to do like you've done and get most options fitted as possible. Think I asked you on insta about the indicator comfort signals the other day.

Skoda Catalog [europa] (7zap.com) That's what I'd use. Don't try it on a phone. they tend to reduce the number of columns of info, often dropping important ones.

Have you definitely checked the right one? Sometimes Skoda fail to differentiate clearly between LHD and RHD fuse layouts, leading to confusion. The correct one is 25 Amp rated.

Great work there lad .. Fare play to you ! Seats are really nice ... Are you considering the NCT ? Just a watch out on the oil pressure sender - I thought I would be smart and got a 2 post M10x1 VDO copy sender. The gauge works perfect but the warning light needs a normally open contact - The sender I got is normally closed, so the switch is closed with no oil pressure and opens once the engine is running - opposite to how the original sensor works. The light in the dash cluster was flashing and beeping like the blazes when connected to the oil sender so I just ran a ground wire to the plug. Now if you don't start the car within 10 seconds she alarms......! I got an LED from Demon Tweeks which I have put in above the hazard light switch. 12v side to the ignition the ground side to the sensor - It works well ! If your sensor is gauge only you will need a t-piece so you can fit the original switch and avoid all the fun that I had

They are paying around £15 to £20 to charge when i have watched. Also a few quid on a coffee and snack. I have a box of diet coke in the boot and water & flask and munchies and so far have spent under £20 for near 6,000 mile since August to charge. Some charging also done free at hotels or supermarkets or using others cards.

No one will use Ionity regularly at 69p/KwH. Only frequent long distance drivers (aka business users) will take a contract to get access to the lower price charging and for that they need to be driving a car made by one of Ionity's investors. Its similar to Tesla's model, charging exclusively for owners of the brand - but others can access at a massive premium. Long distance use is likely to remain a worry until the chargers on motorways and major roads come up to snuff. I don't know which way this will go, but I'm hopeful more places like Gridserve will open up - giving 90 to 350Kw charging on demand at a reasonable 24p/Kwh. (https://www.gridserve.com/braintree-overview/) IMHO 24p/KwH gives a decent profit for the retailer and still makes it cheaper per mile than diesel (for my Karoq doing 12p/mile the break even is 32p/KwH). Of course, most charging will be done at home for those not on the road all the time which means there is a much smaller cake to be shared out amongst suppliers, so don't expect charging stations to be as ubiquitous as petrol stations.

Had I gone to Cornwall to their workshop & not used a mobile unit or local dealer Celtic Tuning would have removed the emissions "fix" free of charge, the dealer wanted £90 but it would not have been a roolback but allegedly a later less debilitating VAG revision for the fix. I declined as I have an EGR emulator/simulator so there are no negative effects of the EGR but am questioning my decision, the ECU "thinks" that EGR is occurring and hence the calculated soot load is rising as fast as ever and the regens still far too frequent for my liking but then my journey profile has changed with the lockdown. It seems to me that the 25g soot threshold to trigger the regen is using the calculated and not the measured value, the problem being that I would need to have seen the figures just before a regen happens, does anybody know?

Cost saving a few pennies saved here and there pushes up the profit margin on each car. My flat Energy Blue is a free colour yet Race Blue Metallic is several hundreds of pounds extra but in reality doesn't cost anywhere near that in a car factory using robots and mass production but people (including me) pay the extra charge.

If it's a 1.6tdi Greenline I would be interested in the results of the remap on low speed grunt which we notice compared to our 110hp 2.0tdi.

Assuming you have the switches in the correct positions for all of the cabin lights, then when you press the door open button on your key fob all the cabin lights will come on.

The narrower 16” wheels are probably to allow snow chain fitting on the Karoq. If you have no intentions of fitting snow chains 16x 7 “ wheels from a Yeti fit just fine, my son has my previous Yeti winter wheels on his Karoq.

I believe around 100,000 expats have returned already with 1 mill still trying. Our property market is crazy with such a shortage of stock and prices are ridiculous. Doh! Could have been worse. I once checked the oil and topped it up before heading off to Germany from York. Drove about 700 miles including doing 100mph+ on the Autobahn. I had thought the engine sounded slightly louder than usual but thought nothing of it as it was running fine and the MPG was ok too. Decided to check the oil before heading home which is when I saw that the engine was covered in oil! I'd forgotten to put the cap back on but it was nowhere to be seen. I'd likely put in on top of the engine and it had fallen off. Bought a new one locally. Found it several months later when doing the DSG oil change. Sat on top of the underside engine cover! Lol

Both seats finished and drying a bit before I put them in. I have the Plastics to clean up still, not sure whether or not I'll keep the underseat storage for the Monte Carlo or put it back in this. Drivers seat took a third of the time to do and came out much better than the passengers if i'm honest. If anyone is reading this to see how its done I can only advise to get a good set of pliers that can reach in and snip the hogrings off, then just use good quality zipties in their place. This way its a much easier job. Excited to see how they look in the car when they're in properly.

Do you mean the Alu panels that can be used to divide up the boot space? They're a skoda accessory from the catalogue, and slot into the plastic boot liner tray, so you need the boot liner tray with slots. That's my understanding...

The short answer is yes in that they will have the same 5x112 PCD and the ET should be the same or close. How suitable they are depends on the tyre size. Standard on a Yeti would be 215/60x16. On a Karoq it's 225/60x16.

Hi Guys I have just got my car back which has been with my dealership since 30th November 2020. They advised me just before Christmas that they had found the leak which was the seal on the windscreen and they had replaced it but there were some parts required which were out of stock and would probably not arrive from Germany until the new year, as apart from low stocks there was the issue at the docks and things just weren't getting through. Both Brexit and Covid had now taken over and the timescale which was originally quoted was now not possible. The parts required were a full set of carpets with underlay, a headlining and various pieces of trim. I received a call mid January to say that the car would be ready by Thursday but as the weather was so appalling I advised I would collect on Friday morning. Next day I received a call to advise that the storm we had over night had brought down branches and damaged three cars in their carpark, one being mine and the new windscreen had a crack in it and would need to be replaced. The following week I got the call to say that it was ready to collect, but on arrival I found that they had damaged the car during the work and had scratched the drivers door sill and gouged the centre console obviously when they put the seat back in. I also found that the windscreen fitter had not put the clips back holding the scuttle trim which was flapping and there were grubby hand prints on various parts of the trim. I was not best pleased but I give the customer service manager his due, he did not hesitate to promise that it would all be fixed and booked the car in the following week. I have to say that I collected it on Monday and it was like a new car as they had even polished it. Now not wishing to be pessimistic but we have not had heavy rain this week so I have no idea if this work has cured the leak. Other people have had the same work done and days later were just as wet inside as before. Fingers crossed!!!!!!! Now I would like to offer my two penith to anyone who is about to buy a new Karoq as this experience has not been much fun but I have learned a lot along the way. We had and 2014 Octavia 1.2 before which we loved but due to having two knee replacements I was finding it difficult to get in and out of which is why we looked at the Karoq. Both my wife and I found it to be instantly comfortable and in fact better than the VW Tiguan and decided to purchase. I feel that I made a bit of a mistake when speccing the car as I turned down the 1.0 TSI model being sure that it was not powerful enough for such a heavy car and as they had a 1.5 SEL DSG in stock with 'Virtual dashboard', electric tailgate and various other extras which someone else had ordered but then cancelled it meant that I would not have to wait for my car to be built. Now I have not been a fan of the 1. 5 TSI engine in my car as I find it a little noisy and harsh particularly when pulling away from cold, tends to use more oil than I would like and is not partcularly economical even though I am a gentle driver, but I have learnt that this engine varies a lot and when you get a good one they are very good. As I have been without my car since 30th of November I have had several courtesy cars during that time. The 1st was a new 1.5 TSI Golf with only a couple of hundred miles on the clock and the engine in that car was night and day different to mine. I did not like that car though as I struggled to get in and out so they replaced it with a Karoq 1.0 TSI manual just before Christmas - What a revelation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I could not believe how smooth this little engine was and to be honest I struggled to tell the difference when driving, as it had plenty of acceleration, but the huge difference was the economy -58 mpg WOW!!! I took it on a 250 mile round trip to deliver Christmas presents ( socially distanced ) and was amazed how good it was on the motorway it had plenty of power and would overtake just as easily as my 1.5. The only time I noticed a small difference was on a very long hill in Devon where I did need to change down to 5th keep the speed up to 60 mph. I would definitely recommend this 1.0 TSI engine if you don't do thousands of miles and drive mainly in town - it's a cracker!!! Fast forward to when I discovered that my car had been damaged and they then gave me a 1.5TSI Octavia as they didn't have a Karoq. This was a beautiful top of the range car and again the engine was like the Golf in that it was smooth, quiet and very punchy. I can only think that they have updated this unit and sorted some of the issues with the earlier ones, The only thing was once again I found it difficult to get in and out so although I have been disappointed with my Karoq, it was nice to get it back and realise that it is comfortable, Other things I have discovered though is that I prefer the suspension on the Octavia as it hardly notices the rough roads around my village whereas the Karoq is very hard ( probably to stop it rolling on the corners ) which makes it very noisy over the bumps in comparison and can be skittish on rough surfaces. When I learned how much I had lost over the not quite two years I have had the Karoq it has made me rethink getting rid of it. At the moment we are not going anywhere and it's just not worth throwing more money at cars to just sit there losing value. I still prefer the interior of the Karoq to any other SUV on the market so for now it will probably stay. Sorry to drone on but I hope my experiences over the last ten weeks may help someone to make up their minds what they really want or need. It shows you really need to have a test drive for longer than just round the block and be very sure what you are buying, I will come back again if I still have a leak!!!!!!!!!!! Regards David

I filled mine up for the first time in exactly 3 months and in that time I've done a whole 228 miles. It's in for the service and MOT tomorrow and looking at last year's records I've done a grand total of 1818 miles since the last one. Jeez

It won't harm the battery but it will confuse the battery management system on the car as it won't know that the battery has been charged.

Why have Skoda belts got such a short life? Fords recommend 10 years or 100,000 miles. My daughter's Focus Zetec is 10 years old and at 90,000 had the cambelt exchanged and the technician who replaced it said the old belt had no slipes and generally in good condition.

I've been looking at these options, just looks like a marketing way to charge a lot for not a lot. I really want to know the detail of what the Founders Edition will comprise of and what you get for all that additional cost. Also when we can configure it on the UK website/ My local dealer knows nothing.
