  1. Diesel will be available for many years yet, worry about replacements when you need to.
  2. I’m the first to admit I don’t like verstappen (or Hamilton much). However letting only enough cars through, so the car on brand new soft tyres could have a go at the car on 40 lap old hard tyres… That was plain wrong. Either let non through or all. If none had gone, then I still think max would have been on him at the end, but it would have been fair.
  3. I hope the person that serviced the Haldex unit drained the oil out of the correct unit! We've seen that mistake before.
  4. I'm not too sure that this post has kept it below the radar but at the moment I'll let the thread run. As you can see though, we do like to play within the law on here. 👮‍♂️
  5. Hi Guys Here's mine, fresh out of the box, demo+1, 6mths, 6k. Haven't even had time for a photo shoot, so an original dealer photo and one of mine in the Showroom Looking forward to putting some winter tyres on it and getting some miles under it. Looks sharp in White, however, I don't think there is a bad colour in the range
  6. Letting only 5 of the lapped cars through and not all of them surely isn't following the rule? Either stick with the original decision to let none of the lapped cars through or let ALL of the lapped cars through. IMHO Mercedes have a valid reason to make an appeal. Yes having the race not finishing under safety car is preferred but only if the rules have been followed.
  7. …. Well that descended rapidly!
  8. what is ok for vehicle traffic may annoy someone on a bicycle who has gone to the trouble of fixing a Go Pro to their helmet in case they decide to take offence, so they will have the evidence.
  9. Breaking F1 news, A rule change for 2022 all cars will now be required to be a 2 seater, so the company lawyer can advise or take control of the car for any on course decisions
  10. Be thankful you aren't in an Octavia or ID3 with the same issues and no physical A/C controls. How I get around the other driver issue is by using the seat memory. I'm 1, my partner is 2. At least if the profiles stick, you can always get the seats and mirrors to the right location
  11. They're going to appeal and have 96 hours.... The stewards need their heads wobbling before next season.
  12. That was not right. Max deserved A win but not like that.
  13. Could it be the rubber delaminating in the rear propshaft joint?
  14. This is not strictly true in the UK. Up to a certain age of car you don’t have to have them, but must be working if headlamp washers are fitted. Search eBay using this number 380496903814 for what you need to get your xenon working again.
  15. Thats the funniest thing I have read on a forum for a very long time 🤣
  16. Some oldies from when I dug out my Canon Powershot A560
  17. Ok, so the problem isn't the washer pump itself (if it were the front wash would be intermittent too). The most likely issue is a water leak as @AnnoyingPentium suggested upthread. From your other symptoms I'd start with the connection at the rear wiper and work forwards.
  18. It's a pity because the hyper green VRS is a thing of beauty. Luckily it wasn't on offer when I ordered the superb or I would have traded most other things off for the colour!
  19. Box of goodies came in for the mk1 Set of Mondeo Drop links ARB Bushes (18mm) Facelift bumper clips Rear shoes Rear wheel cylinder Coolant temp sensor Cabin air filter License plate lights. Got all pretty cheap, obviously not the best stuff but more than good enough for now. I wanted to get the bumper clips done first, and of course it turns out they've sent me one prefacelift and one facelift one, so the vRS bumpers only half properly attached. Then I tackled the arb and drop links Happily that all went on as it should, no drama there. Should tighten up the front of the car and stop the arb rubbing on the driveshaft too. The old d bushes were far too big for the arb guessing they're for a vRS and someone assumed this would have the same size ARB. Have the brakes to tackle next and i'm sure that will be great fun. Atleast I have an eezibleed to bleed it properly when its done, should be braking better than ever hopefully.
  20. If the washer isn't working, then check for a loose pipe. It's common (at least on the Mark 1 Fabia) for the pipe to pop off at the pump, or at the back of the engine bay if I recall correctly. If you're referring to the wiper only, then I am unsure. I've had issues with the washer, but not the wiper itself.
  21. sorry the delay. i bought a OBD2 elevenpro for diagnostic, and i have on motor unit a P067400 fault code. --> fault of glow of cilinder number 4. i replace the glow and clean de fault with obd2 and now problem is solved. Automatic Start-Stop disabled too with obd2. thanks¡¡
  22. It is to give something to push against and to position the business end. The wire that does the work is about 200 mm long before the bend.
  23. There will be ones in Use & Construction or Road Compliance or whatever. A UK MOT is just a vehicle tested on the day. Owners are expected to keep their vehicle safe and roadworthy & compliant until the next MOT. A Qualified Police Examiner will soon enough make out a report showing a vehicle modified to not meet with the Traffic Laws or Legislation if there are contraventions.
  24. If you are in Scotland, then probably need a ship going to Port of Tyne, some do Sheerness (Kent), Grimsby (Immingham, Humberside), and Tyne, but some ships do not also call at Tyne as volume there is lower. These ships can take thousands of cars so not going to schedule a ship to drop off just a few hundred cars. Normally you then need to wait for a road transporter, which means need dealer to be receiving multiple cars. If you are long way from the Port it might be beyond a round trip within a days driving hours which means you need one of limited number of trucks where driver can rest. The general lack of cars means nowadays more likely to be waiting for other cars to fill the truck than awaiting for a spare truck. In my experience most seem to leave port early hours and arrive at dealers from breakfast time onwards (presumably to miss traffic, and coincide with dealer opening hours). But really your dealer should be able to work out which cars they are expecting are at a port or on a ship. There is another thread where a service Dept hasn’t got any available bookings for 5 weeks (I think it was Yeovil), but imagine having to wait 5 weeks for a PDI as wasn’t booked in as didn’t know when cars arriving.
  25. Cheers - glad I asked before removing door panels etc. I must admit we have been happy with the car for 3 years - but now when I tap about- it is very plasticy only had one issue under warranty - the air con stopped working - turned out to be the control panel on the dash was faulty (had to get one from the factory - took 3 weeks right in the middle of 2020 heatwave !!!) - but it didnt stop the garage wanting to charge me for regassing the car after 18 months (or an air con service at £129 - and then told me how lucky I was that they had put a new condensor in - which wasnt faulty at all.

  27. Hi thanks for nice comment I think the 19in alloys and black sunroof set the velvet red only got it yesterday so a nice new toy for Christmas,, did notice inside headlights were foged up see a few people had the same issue seemed to happen when lights were on and raining and ideas is this regalur
  28. My alarm siren battery went flat and did not result in the issues you described, so in my example my assertion was correct.
  29. nick i am the same ...always switch it off.
  30. When Service Books came in Mk2 Fabia up to about 2012/13 the Alarm was a replacement item on the 5th Service when they were still showing the Services as Minor(inspection) and Major year about. So at a Minor (Inspection) Service as Skoda UK had it at the time. That was when 'Body Inspections' were on the page after a Service for the sake of the Paint / Corrosion warranty. That which Skoda UK says these days there is no record of even though they advertise the Body Inspection as part of main dealer servicing on the Fixed Price Servicing and maintenance.
  31. I am well into my 70s but can see what is the security bolt cap very easily without getting on my knees or putting my glasses on. This was this morning after over a hundred miles at 70 up the A1 last night in atrocious weather but still easily seen.
  32. I'm not sure how I am going to break this to him 😳 He usually removes the wheel & the arch liner, he has only just worked out that by struggling he does not need to remove the wheel. He has 3 bulbs left out of a pack of 10 so has changed 7 bulbs & now I can see that he could have easily removed the bulbholder and sprung the contact, he will have been frightened of the connector, he has seen me break a few in my time, we are opposite ends of the spectrum! I will have to go out in the dead of night to remove and repair the bulbholders without him knowing!
  33. i think it started with Audi putting that ridiculous full width high level brake light on the A7. it then morphed a bit from there into ridiculously shaped parking lights on other marques. and with EVs its because the designers all watched Tron at a conference and thought hey, that looks cool and futuristic.. like we want people to think about our EVs... lets do that!
  34. If the haldex has been properly serviced maybe time to have the read diff oil changed.
  35. In theory.... You've done a whole light unit replacement with a unit suitable for Xenon gas discharge lighting. So it won't fail the wrong bulb in the wrong headlamp test. In reality you'd have to walk the tester through it if they fail the car on that. Halogen and HID headlamps are easily identified from each other so it should be obvious. The existing manual headlight control will suffice but it must work. There's no requirement for headlamp washers to be fitted. If fitted, they may be tested (car is pre-2009 so it's a crap shoot). But they MUST work if they're tested. ^^^All that goes out the crapper if there's a MOT testers note requiring self levelling and washers. Northern Ireland people get treated much more harshly. They have their own version of VOSA and the MOT lot and their own DOT-NI.... Or whatever it's called these days.
  36. Fabia MK2s from 2011 onwards don't have a wear indicator on the front brake pads when they were fitted with 256mm front discs. It was only the Fabia MK2s 2007-2010 that sometimes had a wear indicator on the front brake pads with the 256mm front discs. This depended on the build codes. You can see the build codes below for the 2007-2010 Fabia MK2s with 256mm front brake discs. You can see that you only got a front brake pad wear indicator with the 256mm front brake discs if you had build code 9U1 Fabia MK2 2007-2010 front brake pads for 256mm front discs 15 6Q0 698 151 1 set of brake pads for disk brake 1 PR-1LQ,9U0 15 JZW 698 151 A 1 set of brake pads for disk brake 'eco' D >> - 31.12.2009 front 1 PR-1LQ,9U0 (15) 1J0 698 151 D 1 set: brake pads with wear indicator for disc brake 1 PR-1LQ,9U1 15 JZW 698 151 1 set of brake pads with wear display for disc brakes 'eco' D >> - 31.12.2009 front 1 PR-1LQ,9U1 (15) 1J0 698 151 J 1 set of brake pads for disk brake front 1 PR-1LR,9U0 15 JZW 698 151 A 1 set of brake pads for disk brake 'eco' D >> - 31.12.2009 front 1 PR-1LR,9U0 (15) 1J0 698 151 E 1 set: brake pads with wear indicator for disc brake front 1 PR-1LR+9U1 15 JZW 698 151 1 set of brake pads with wear display for disc brakes 'eco' D >> - 31.12.2009 front 1 PR-1LR+9U1 15 6R0 698 151 A 1 set of brake pads for disk brake comprising: front 14" 1 PR-1ZG 15 JZW 698 151 A 1 set of brake pads for disk brake 'eco' D >> - 31.12.2009 front 1 PR-1ZG https://skoda.7zap.com/en/cz/fabia/fab/2010-608/6/615-615016/
  37. Hi Cadyw, Welcome to the forum. I only fitted front mud flaps to mine, very easy to do with out removing the front wheels. To get better access turn the steering wheel right to undo the 3 torx25 driver side then opposite lock for the other three screws. By the way use a short screw driver or small wrench. I hope this helps.
  38. my gsi has the stalk issue, cant be operated with 1 finger but I'm not to fussed. The vxr has a better stalk for cruise but it's the weird one touch operation for indicating and the wipers that gets me confused lol. Will do as they will both be getting work done

Hello from Athens . My story for an Octavia 1.5L dsg style edition + leather seats , head up and rear camera , (I believe its what you call SEL) is as follows : - Order and small prepayment 10th of September 21 in a skoda dealer in Athens. It is a buy not lease . - Confirmed order by Skoda sometime in early October ( I dont remember exact date ) given production week 45 - mid November production week went to 49. - week 49 which ended today and I received message from dealer that the car was produced and going to port to be shipped . Estimated delivery during January. I believe them since they gave me the VIN number of the car and I checked it. VIN numbers are given as soon as a car is produced. Reading many posts in this topic I consider myself very lucky . Please dont be jealous yet , since shipping and paperwork in Greece may take more than 2 months. I hope the best delivery times possible to all of you .
  40. I put my bikes on the roof. I've never liked those hang on racks. I agree mine would be a bit harder to put on and remove, but I can do on my own. I just think the roof bars are more secure.
  41. Just the one rainbow here today
  42. I have just added the photos for you.
  43. We had a phenomenal double rainbow on Monday. Unusual light around as well. Picture doesn't do it justice of course:
  44. The way I do it (I’m sure others do it another way….!) is via the MySKODA app where you have options to save three charging plans. My standard day to day use is an 80% charge, so Plan 1 is set to 80% and all seven days of the week. If I’m planning going on a longer distance trip (my normal work daily commute is 9 mile) then I go to 90% (my Plan 2) or 100% (my Plan 3). For Plan 2 and 3 I just set the date and time as required. It automatically defaults back to Plan 1 80% after a Plan 2 or 3 charge as I have Plan 1 for every day. I charge via an EO Mini Pro 2 wall charger and via Octopus GO. This goves me cheap rate charging between 0030-0430 hrs which is normally sufficient for a 50% charge at the ‘reduced’ rate. The other way is controlling the charging via the Columbus/infotainment system (I just failed to find that in the Owner’s Manual and had to use the Search Function) but I don't think you can charge to a pre-set limit via this method. I just went out and had a look to check! The Columbus mirrors the plans set via the MySKODA app in time, date and charge rate but not the charge limit. I reckon you need the app to do that. For setting the charging time up via the infotainment system (you've probably sussed this already) in the manual, it’s actually under Driver Information System >>> e-Manager >>> Settings Hope that helps!
  45. I would guess one hour's labour plus parts. If they quote more than an hour and a half I would be looking elsewhere. It's best to have an ongoing relationship with a garage...one that wants repeat business by keeping you happy. Changing rear pads and discs is a very straightforward and easy job for a garage. The Yeti has three rear brake disc sizes depending on model. 253mm, 272mm, and 282mm. The 253mm is a TRW brake system, 272mm is a Bosch system, and the 282mm is a TRW system. 253mm Rear Brake Pads 1K0698451J https://www.autodoc.co.uk/car-parts/oem/1k0698451j?search=OEN+1K0698451J&supplier[0]=833&supplier[1]=3&supplier[2]=30 253mm Rear Brake Discs 1K0615601AB https://www.autodoc.co.uk/car-parts/oem/1k0615601ab?search=OEN+1K0615601AB&supplier[0]=3&supplier[1]=833&supplier[2]=30&supplier[3]=3&supplier[4]=833 272mm Rear Brake Pads 5K0698451 https://www.autodoc.co.uk/car-parts/oem/5k0698451?search=OEN+5K0698451&supplier[0]=30&supplier[1]=833&supplier[2]=3&supplier[3]=30&supplier[4]=833 272mm Rear Brake Discs 1K0615601AA https://www.autodoc.co.uk/car-parts/oem/1k0615601aa?search=OEN+1K0615601AA&supplier[0]=30&supplier[1]=833&supplier[2]=3 282mm Brake Pads 1K0698451G https://www.autodoc.co.uk/car-parts/oem/1k0698451g?search=OEN+1K0698451G&supplier[0]=30&supplier[1]=833&supplier[2]=3&supplier[3]=30&supplier[4]=833&supplier[5]=3 282mm Rear Brake Discs 1K0615601AD https://www.autodoc.co.uk/car-parts/oem/1k0615601ad?search=OEN+1K0615601AD&supplier[0]=30&supplier[1]=833&supplier[2]=3&supplier[3]=30&supplier[4]=833 Skoda online parts diagram 253mm https://skoda.7zap.com/en/cz/yeti/yet/2013-666/6/615-615060/ Skoda online parts diagram 272mm https://skoda.7zap.com/en/cz/yeti/yet/2013-666/6/615-615063/ Skoda online parts diagram 282mm https://skoda.7zap.com/en/cz/yeti/yet/2013-666/6/615-615065/

I have just Live Chatted with someone from Skoda Customer services. And Basically they said that this is the way it currently works, Playlists do not resume on engine restart and you have to reselect every time and they have had a word with the "Development Team" and if they fix it - it will be done in a future update via the dealer . Here are some edited screen shots, forgive my grammar, and spelling but I was working at the same time I know it's trivial, but something that is marketed as quality (perhaps) or even "Clever" this is a basic function of every media player.
  47. The other thing is to ensure year as there could be unknown changes, 2004 was just a basic start point to illustrate available data. Colm, could you update Model and Year in you profile to include year which may assist in future postings.
  48. I got these from opendoor LED.
