  1. Just a quick update. Got gearbox replaced. It took them over a month. Got replacement car through Mobex. Not the best experience tbh. But man. How amazing car it is. VRS diesel auto. It's just pleasure to drive...until next fault 🤣
  2. Im amazed you have a wife who is even able to tell the car handling has changed !!!
  3. Colourful end to the day
  4. These are the commandments for Australia: The first and great commandment - DO NOT EVER, EVER, EVER put 91 ron fuel in a Superb 206. The second commandment is like the first - DO NOT PUT Australian E10 fuel in a Superb 206. If NSW fuel is anything like South Australian fuel then it is just 91 Octane with up to 10% Ethanol added which may then bring it up to 94 Ron (with up to 140 ppm sulphur ) The problem is that when the E10 fuel was independently tested the quantity of Ethanol added varied from 10% to none so now stations don't even advertise the ron rating of the E10 fuel and there is a little sticker on the pump warning about the possibility of variation. Look at the manual or inside the filler cap to ascertain the best Of course the absurdity of State laws may mean that NSW may have different fuel specifications but you should check.

I think I can still get my shoe in that gap
  6. he was briefed before we started each up hill tow that once he was moving himself again it was really important that the rope didnt touch the ground and he absolutely could not try to pass me out with the rope on and why... hes a clever little sod so he understands that "if dad is saying this is possibly dangerous and important to listen, then it really must be"
  7. The driver's door card cleaned up nicely
  8. They are Koya SF10, 19x8.5,ET35. Tires are Falken FK510 245/40/19. I run rear camber at negative 1.3 degree. It is almost flush. Yes, I painted the calipers myself. I use dupli-color caliper paint. It is a brush on paint.
  9. O M G The 1970's called and asked for you...
  10. It’s a 20 plate with 36k. I’m going underneath it tomorrow. I’ll let you know what I find that the mechanics couldn’t.
  11. I only time myself as I’m in competition with my former self. today I felt sluggish. Shaved five mins of a up and down loop, yay; no idea how. 2.35km, up and down 278m. but dagnamit five seconds more… I had that in the tank, and now I know, I’ll be back to 40min segments
  12. Check when hot, may be fine. VW group may well specify capacity to midway between min and max, or even lower in these days where emissions regs and targets govern so much above good sense.
  13. That's actually what the garage recommended on the phone so they're going to give me a price when I drop it in.
  14. @Defenderben He has changed to this one.
  15. The previous coolant was the worst i have ever put in my car. As i have said in older posts the next day that i have started to ''dilute" it the TC-6 started to shown less Instant fuel consumption at cold start in the morning. The ECU-update was done 2 months after this trip. I have made a reset after the ''dilution'' process finished so since everything was fine the TC-6 started to shown results that brought the smile back to my face. I wrote at 13nth of January: This is a photo few minutes ago, yes i know it's a crappy but i was in a hurry. Fuel consumption 9,3 lt for 100,7 Km in the odometer.
  16. Update: I have managed to remove the old alternator, I had to find a short enough 14 mm open-end wrench because the radiator was in the way while releasing the tension of the belt. The alternator was stuck in its mounting bracket, I had to gently hammer it until it came loose. An advice for those who want to remove an alternator in a 1.3 Felicia with PAS or AC (I don't know if it's the same on other models): pay attention to the bottom radiator coolant hose and the power steering pump, the alternator was way heavier than expected and could fell down. Anyway, the old alternator seems quite worn: corroded connections and screws, sound of loose tiny wires inside while the rotor is rotating and very stiff and noisy bearing. The new part is on its way, it should arrive next Thursday. I already have the Haynes Manual and it helped me a lot (not always), but replacing alternator in a Felicia with PAS or AC is not well documented.
  17. There are plenty of posts about this use the search button on the top right 👍
  18. Will be watching this project closely! Had wanted to do a 4x4 conversion to mine, but lack of funds, space, time and know-how put me off 😅
  19. They look good, looks like you need them. Shame they don't do them for the scout.
  20. I made the first cold start at Athens, drove for 5 Km till i reach the national road, i made a stop after 80 Km for coffee and rest, then a ''cold" start for another 7Οkm of mountain road till i reach my destination. The next day a cold start and 15 Km to a city near buy and return, another day the same but for other city. Final day a cold start from my village, 70 Km mountain road, a stop for coffee and rest and another ''cold" start for 80 Km on national road till i reach the boundaries of the municipality of Athens and 5 Km till home. The return was with light rain, i have some photos from TC-6 in Instant fuel consumption in national road from both days. Yes it did, based on TC-6, the behaviour of the car at first Km, the rise of the temperature, the smell of the fumes. No all these are gone.
  21. "Surely with that set up you get rubbish MPG" You'll be surprised when it's not on boost all the time. In other, once I've got the body work/rusty bits sorted... Time will tell.
  22. I am going to answer myself in case anyone else wants to know, it was a T30. I am working off a high kerb on the pavement, so really hard to see anything!
  23. These are really rubbery!
  24. Lovely Boxster, @phope! I would like one too! Congrats for the Karoq too!
  25. I've linked apps to RADIO/NAV/MUSIC etc in AGAMA as you've shown, but this only seems to relate to the AGAMA app. The default apps on the the mode button (circle with dots on left of photo) on the steering wheel aren't changed. When press the button it cycles through NAV/MUSIC/RADIO/AUX etc but with the exception of NAV they are all the default apps. Had a quick look on XDA developers forum and it seems other people have asked the same question for other android head units but there doesn't seem to be a solution. The button mapping I was trying to use is the built in steering wheel button app in the photo attached not in AGAMA. When I press start at the bottom of this app, select the function I want and then press the button on the steering wheel it just activates the default button action rather than re-mapping it. I wondered if anyone else has sucessfully managed to use this app to re-map the steering wheel buttons? I see there is an impedance selection option which I haven't tried yet so will give that a go.

Ah sorry. I'm living in the past decade where every vw or skoda were 1.9 tdi. Yes it is a 2.0 tdi.
  27. So a LONG awaited update, I don’t forget about you guys in here, I have had the car round Donnington, it was so much fun, fixed the interior light after sourcing a plug, done a few bits and pieces, life has been manic since this pandemic has been going on. New plug for the car so now I have interior lights again. The common problem of the lock unlock button not working, all the scuzz and Coca-Cola got washed off first and then I went about soldering the pins to the plug to cure the bad contacts. The car was so much fun at donno, I kicked it’s head in and it took every ounce of it in its stride, the leaking box survived and is still going strongish although I didn’t think it would make it 🤣 not an issue as obviously I already had a 4wd box that doesn’t leak ready for replacement 😁 I procrastinated terribly with this project and it was getting me down thinking of the lack of progress, I managed to source most the final bits of the conversion, prop, fuel tank and all the 4WD under body guards ages ago and they just sat in my lockup and then my mates in notts lockup gathering dust. Here is how I drove from brum to notts I got quite a few looks, there is pretty much every part of the 4wd conversion in that car there 🤣 But today I booked to see my mate and make a good start on the Octavia, I did his head in as we needed to finish some of his own work first and then I pestered him like an excited child to start the Octy, we went in balls deep and did probably 65-70% of the conversion today so I’m extremely chuffed, the rear subframe is all built up and on the car with diff, and the fuel tank is on, some little bits still to finesse with the build but it is back on its wheels with the majority of the 4wd system in place 😁 I started building the rear subframe a while ago, I was short of some of the bushes, but got most the arms on and bolted together, but the subframe sat like this for over 6 months. As of today now you can see there is a sneaky driveshaft in that back hub now 😁 and there is that lovely haldex all ready to help with putting the power down 😁 I overlooked a couple of bits to my mates annoyance, so I’ve got to source a few bits and make sure i have the wiring up of it all in my head ready to do it blindfolded. So now we have a taste of it, in two weeks time we are set to fit the box and the prop and then off for an exhaust to be made for the rear, nothing fancy as I want to keep it as a sleeper, but I’m extremely excited to see this car done now and just see how different it drives with 4wd capabilities 😁
  28. Brings back fond memories of family rides, my son similar at a similar age to yours, and we were mostly on tarmac bike tracks. When he needed a bit of assistance on the steeper bits or we needed to go a bit faster/further than his normal speed then it started when I'd find a suitable length tree fall (stick) and push his bike from behind. I formalised it a bit with a lightweight, extendable tent pole. Not quite as awkward as it sounds and he loved being out in front and going twice as fast as he would under his own power. Not really practical when off a good surface but I never liked the idea or consequences of him overrunning a tow rope. Didn't seem long before he was pretty capable of managing on his own. They really grow up quick
  29. Sure, no problem. Those 3 pictures should give you an idea on how it looks like. The rear camera is not visible from the outside of the car but well visible in the rearview mirror. All the wiring runs under the roof liner and the pilar mounts. Skoda charged me 250EUR for the installation. IMHO Money definitely well spent. A+ Lionel
  30. U need VCDS or OBDEleven to make the code change, below, to enable it.
  31. If it only has 38k miles on a 6 year old car, might be better allocating say £2000 for servicing and repairs (and using the money pot to fix whatever it needs over next 2-3 years), rather than spending thousands more trying to change it during current market turmoil with lack of good secondhand cars.
  32. So the parts have come in thick and fast.. Parking sensor loom Bumper, complete with washer jet holes and pdc holes X4 Brackets for side park assist sensors Front undertray Washer jets Plumbing for washer jets Be nice when all this starts being put together!
  33. The Audi was catching attention from lots of people. All a bit much but what a machine.

id be bringing it back to your dealer for a check then, as it clearly has something wrong, but will be under warranty still.

We are kindred spirits. My decision to go for a VRS was partially due to my total contempt for the EU and their obsurd rules. I've survived 44 years without taking the slightest notice of any Eurocentric control. Probably due to the fact that my grandfather's fought for my freedom to choose my own fate and I respect their sacrifice! Many gave, so the few could live free of tyranny. Tyranny by stealth is still tyranny! It's called Stockholm Syndrome!
  37. wearing on inner edge means the car is toeing out
  38. I am never going to own a Mk 1 or 2 Escort RS or a Focus RS / ST in the colours i like and have wanted to own. I would happily have one of these and make it a keeper to see my driving days out. (No cloak of invisibility.)
  39. As the name suggests the parking sensors system will apply the brakes if you get too close to an object when manoeuvring.

  42. No , Nope ,Nada. The fabled 31st March 2022 fix will save us all and the planet !!!
  43. Update for anyone interrested, I went to the dealer and had him take a ride listening for this sound. The car is going in for a check in 2 weeks. he claimed that it's not a sound thats supposed to be there.. Unfortunately I havent recorded it for you to hear but ill keep this updated anyhow.
  44. Thanks, getting there. I need do a bit of suspension work next then start using it. Can you believe this car came with nearly a full years MOT. There were so many issues that should have been MOT failures, some I've not even documented yet. Lucky I wasnt expecting much and bought the car expecting problems and knowing I could do most of the work myself. Someone else could have easily been burnt.
  45. Created some RallyFlapz mud flaps.... Comes in 4mm thick rubber sheets. Used original Skoda flaps as a Guide. Created some card versions to check fitment. Then once happy cut and smoothed off the actual flaps. Really happy with the look and fitment. Fitted my Briskoda decals too. Also fitted my decals...
  46. Been a while since I have updated. New mods: Lowered 30mm Roof wrap Remap to stage 1 Maxton front splitter Painted callipers To come: Reiger side skirts Reiger TSI rear diffuser Quad exit custom exhaust
  47. I really like these & my son has one now. Luckily not this one.
