  1. Wahoo I picked mine up on Saturday! 💙🚙
  2. Car exhaust was done this morning, cost me £48 as opposed to £220 - £240 so saved me alot of money 🙂
  3. For anyone waiting for a new Karoq, this video shows the production line, and features the orange colour too! Chris
  4. I did a 200 mile run from Bristol to Blackburn in my 2022 vRS Estate last month. I got 44mpg which i was more than happy with, especially as the car only had 600 miles on the clock. I mostly stuck to the speed limit and there were some slow sections as the weather got worse the closer to Blackburn I got which will have helped the MPG. I was keen to test the ACC as i've read lots of comments and it worked as i would expect it to work. No issues overtaking and when the traffic slowed it seemed to auto brake and i noticed a car icon on the dash so i pressed the accelerator and it allowed the undertake. I only had to do this once and it was a genuine undertake so it did exactly as i was expecting.

I called the dealer today... He said that he got "confirmed pruduction" status and delivery week 15. I asked him what does that mean, and if the car is already done but he had no answer?!? He just said that it's probably done, and it's just waiting for the ride to Slovenia. And yeah I still don't believe them 🙃.
  6. I think both sides of the argument have some validity. Perhaps an addition to the first post by the OP stating that you should backup the configs before doing anything, you should understand what the changes do before making them and that they are carried out at your own risk? Then I think we can say it's up to people if they want to mess around with their cars.
  7. I think that part number is a Bolero unit, so it doesn't have Navigation functionality no matter what SD cards you try inserting. At that age I suspect it also doesn't have Smartlink capability so plugging phones in won't give you AndroidAuto or Apple CarPlay.
  8. Mixing it up won't hurt every now and then for a change.
  9. Got another battery tray as the gti one doesn’t fit due to the gearbox mount being different and the size of the stop start battery I.e being bigger meant it didn’t fit my original one. So that’s all on now Also a powerflex dogbone insert arrived as the gti dogbone mount is a different design to old one, lucky there cheap enough. so just waiting for my driveshaft to turn up now, was told 1-3 days last Friday so hopefully any time now, then gearbox oil in and take her for a spin
  10. Have been reading a few posts on a Mk4 Facebook page with people saying since the update around a fortnight ago their issues seem to have been resolved with the ACC and popping SOS system. Fingers crossed they are mostly there now with the software.

As the pressures drop the rotational speed of the wheels increases, keeping a long term record of wheel rotational speeds allows this increase in rotational speeds to be detected and reported as a loss of pressure. That's how VAG explain it... I certainly had my Octavia 3 report loss of pressure in all 4 tyres (I set the tyres during a heatwave and when the temperature dropped the tyre pressures dropped and the TPMS light came on), yes I did need to pump up all 4 tyres.

This is a duplicate of another post which is already being discussed on the below thread, so I'm locking this to keep things simple. Please post replied in the below thread:
  13. I find my SEL FE 1.5 manual good on the motorway too. The engine is great in 6th gear with ACC enabled and can manage itself between 45mph and 70mph without the need to change gear. I tend to set it to Sport mode though which firms up the steering making it less twitchy and easier to keep it in the lane.

    ... of a great car!
  15. The Dealership always needs to talk with the Warranty Advisor and the Master Tech knows what to tell them and the repair needs approval because it is expensive. Not as expensive as if a Customer was paying the bill though. If it needs a MCU then that is a formality and they might well drag out 'On back order' and all that jazz. As long as they have the trained and qualified technician then there is no need to turn a crisis into The goose that lays the golden egg. PS It is surprising that it needs a MCU but is OK to drive now or until the new MCU is fitted.
  16. @Brimma a 2021 Fabia should be compatible with either a HEX-V2 or HEX-NET. The former is cheaper and the 10-Vin package tends to represent best value for money depending how you intend to use it. @Johngerard - a HEX-USB+CAN should have been perfect for a 2010 Golf (MK5/Mk6). It even worked with early MK7 Golfs without issue... From Rosstech regarding the HEX-USB+CAN:
  17. It could be that the 12v car battery is on the way out. Mine beeped at me when my battery voltage was low. You could get the battery checked to see whether that might be the fault. When was the battery last changed?
  18. A polite reminder that people remember: 1) People have feelings and please post thinking how you would feel in receipt of a similar post. 2) Threads are supposed to be about a subject and obviously multiple subjects should have multiple threads. When things diverge, it's probably better to have a new thread rather than a very large single thread, as it makes it easier to find things. 3) It's not anyone's thread, it's a thread on the forum.

What? If my dealer approaches me and delivers news like that I will definitely be cancelling my order. 19 months is ridiculous.
  20. 2 points
Today got update on my octy, dealer informed that car should be delievered in 2023 week 12, (car was ordered in 2021, August) so if it would be delivered in time the total wait will be 19 months. Good news that price is fixed and cannot be changed. How is the situacition with other brands?
  21. Misty start this morning

Sticker came off on my Octavia one windy day at the fuel pumps and never got a replacement. They do come loose.
  23. 2 points
Tyres need to have their pressure checked regularly. You can’t come to the conclusion that the dealer didn’t inflate them properly 12 months ago by using a measurement from now. That’s on you, I’m afraid.
  24. 2 points
If perhaps of use to you in the future, you can get the sticker replaced, as if you look in the bottom right of each of the photos, 5E0.010.000.xx is the factory part number. But that would also lead me to question why its not there, as I had a Seat that was bought from a main dealer with 8k miles on it and 1 year old. It was missing this very label from when i bought it so got it from the dealer for a few quid and thought little of it. Little did i know until some years of ownship later, it had had a side impact crash and the whole rear quarter replaced including the filler lid. i foolishly thought at a low mileage and from a main dealer it would not have been sold with accident repair damage (lesson learned) Kept it for 12years ~190000 miles before scrapping it. The rear door repair had rusted and rear quarter was bubbling out by then. Take a close look at your paint work, body panel alignment and any sealants over welded area's.
  25. Let's put everything about Skoda Felicia in a single, huge, never ending topic. That would make this section interesting for people searching for useful information. Like those shops "All for 1 dollar" where you enter and you can find anything you can think of.
  26. Interesting that you find the seats to be super comfy. I've got an SEL 1st edition and after about 3 hours I get a back-ache so always plan to stop for a stretch & walk every couple hours. Having said that, last month I covered 640 miles in a total elapsed time of 20 hours - and could still walk at the end of it 😂 I agree with you about the Octy 4 being quiet and relaxing, and yes, the ACC works like a dream 99% of the time. To chip in on the fuel efficiency, I'm pleasantly surprised that my 1.5 TSi ACT (manual 'box) is returning 55+mpg over the 9k miles I've covered in it. Can be up towards 60mpg on a long run at legal limits. What I have noticed is that it suffers driving in to a strong headwind, more so than my previous Superb II and Octavia II - for example, same route, same load, similar speeds, similar gradients/climbs, outward leg 59mpg, return 48mpg ('twas blowing a gale over Shap & Beatock summits).
  27. Just in case I haven't got enough pictures of my Sportline iV - I took some more today after fitting the summer Supernova wheels.
  28. I thought the Amundsen needed to have an SD card inserted to allow it to work! The links I refer to negate the need to input a VIN to get the correct software.
  29. Thanks! It won't be a very long report for a four-day trip. I went to check my tyre pressures this morning before setting off. They were all 31.5 psi. I have a Michelin foot pump in the boot. It took 50 strokes to get each tyre back up to 35 psi. London to Fakenham. M11, A11. Traffic was a breeze! Perfect weather for walking. Spending money like it's water. Might as well... Putin has me throwing caution to the wind. Car is running like new. Stop/Start is immediate with the new battery. Used to take 20 minutes to kick in... Why you would spend more than £25K for a car is beyond me. This five-year-old Sportline is perfect. Got passed by a Lamborghini – how the heck to you get in and out of one of those things?
  30. Because you can! I have a back room full of parts to put on my car, when it finally arrives! I'm pretty sure that I've never owned a car that was or is stock. The reason being that the manufacturer has a vision, however has to stick to EU rules. I for one don't, therefore as long as it's road legal, it's good to go. If I can, then I will. Software coding issues can be fixed, just as easily as hardware upgrade issues. If you want it stock, then please don't bother us that would rather not! Thank you and good by! 👋
  31. 50 lengths tonight. Feeling quite chuffed with that. Anything over 40 is plenty for me really. Also got 20 in a row which is different from my usual routine of doing little blocks of 4-6ish which after evaluation is something I do prefer IME. Ach well, I did a wee bit of exploring in the name of personal (?) science and had a bit of fun, but think I'll stick to my old method as I can still fire out a nice amount of lengths without struggling as much.

Once again scary Driving a car for 12 months without ever checking the tyres or even knowing what the correct pressure should be, and as for blaming the dealer 12 months henceforth, words fail me! Checking the tyre pressures and fluid levels would be the very first thing that I did on getting home with a new (to me) vehicle and something I always do after new tyres are fitted, never once have they been inflated to the correct pressure, never once in 45 years aside from the last couple where I have been doing my own tyre fitting.

  35. Alarm module battery dying and drawing high current to try and recharge it ?
  36. I am able to negotiate widths and had a car without a single sensors for 15 years, but that doesn't mean I won't get help from sensors. Kids running around suddenly somehwere I'm not watching. If you don't need any electronic assistance, that's fine, but that doesn't mean we're all as good as you. It's not so much to avoid running into other cars and buildings as it is avoiding people, animals or something else moving. If anything, I'm happy that people in other cars get more sensors since I have no control over what they are doing in the car. If having the sensors prevents a single accident during the car's lifetime, it's worth all the beeping. I trust the sensors more than every driver out there, even if they have a perfect track record. Every year, cars get more electronics to make the roads safer, and I believe that to be a good thing, even if we have to listen to some beeping. I don't think the manufacturers and regulators add more safety systems for fun. Park Assist is another story, and if people want such a feature, that's not a problem for you is it?
  37. As I read it, they're putting in a general catch all term in the overall warranty terms that they'll not warranty anything unapproved, or deemed related to be unapproved. That doesn't necessarily dictate that they will warranty any modifications that you ask them to approve, only that there is a possibility. In this case they've confirmed to you that regardless of their 'approval' to have the vehicle modified, they'll not cover things related to the particular modification you wish to make. As an example, they may consider you asking a dealer to retrofit an OEM reversing camera as a modification - it's reasonable to think they might then be prepared to warranty such a modification as it's all OEM kit done by an authorised dealer but that doesn't necessarily extend to 'we will warranty any modification'. It does make the 'approval' process somewhat redundant feeling in your case, as they're not prepared to cover it either way - the cynic in me wonders if this is just to lure people into recording the modifications they make so it's easier for them to pick out something that'll let them reject claims.
  38. Looks that way. Mines the current model if you want to try it before you buy one? I work in Lincoln.
  39. Love it, looks stunning. Personally think the wheels look much better without the aero covers too. Did your dealer provide the wheel centre caps and wheel nut covers or did you have to buy them?
  40. Remember there is a brand new Niro announced and due for sale summer/autumn 2022. Should either get a very good deal on existing models or get in first to buy the new model. I, like you, am still pondering what to get to replace my Yeti. So far I haven’t found anything which ticks all the boxes but Mk2 VW T-Roc seems a possible alternative as does the new Honda HR-V hybrid. Some questions as to engine noise under acceleration with the HR-V so I am waiting for a long road test to find out for myself. Similarly waiting for Mk2 T-Rocs to be available for test drive, T-Roc is said to be one of the most comfortable cars in it's class with smooth ride and a particularly quiet refined ride. Possibly the 1.5 DSG Style model might do.

OMG Thank you for pointing that out. This means that I have been driving around for the past 12 months (around 6,000 miles) with low tyre pressure! The dealer should have really checked this before selling the car. First thing I'm doing tomorrow is pumping all the tyres up to 39 PSi. Thank you!
  42. Weekly wash today, summer Supernovas fitted (winters on Vegas) and suspension given a quick spruce up whilst I was there....
  43. There's a small gap where I was able to shake them out from the red corner into the clear section of the unit and hopefully out. Afterwards I used a vacuum over the open vents on the back of the unit and then covered them up with foam. I'm not sure how you'd be able to remove the cobweb since it's a "sealed" unit. You might be able to get away with using something like an air duster with a straw to dislodge the cobwebs.
  44. 5 year old and FMDSH does not mean serviced to manufacturer's recommendations even with a Skoda Approved Used car Warranty. That would show brake fluid change at 3 years and 5. Pollen filter twice etc etc. Cars with Haldex and wet clutch DSG, even get sold as Skoda Approved Used card at over 3 years old or over 40,000 miles,. That is no guarantee the Haldex was serviced at 30,000 miles or this DSG at 40,000 or brake fluid changed.
  45. Put your reg # into this site https://www.tayna.co.uk/ and you'll probably find they are the cheapest, fit and as @Pete_Ex-Wino says reset the clock & one touch windows
  46. I have been using the usual suspects, AliExpress, eBay and my Skoda dealership.
  47. I really am in desperate need of the wiring diagrams of the rear lights of my car, as I need to install a towbar.
  48. If you go with a quality mapping company, you should see over 300bhp. I have just mapped my car with Racingline OEM maps. Stock power was shown on the rolling road as above Skoda figures and after the stage one map the car achieved 329bhp with 499nm or torque. There are no other hardware mods on the car either. The guy who mapped the car did say I had an extremely healthy car to start with. Bloomin thing really does shift now, very enjoyable, as well as useful at times.
