Or just put the correct type of bulb back in...
  2. The couple from this evening
  3. Hi all, 1st post here and here's my story: Ordered 2.0 TSI 190hp on Oct 16th 2021 with ton of extras (will list them below) and initially was not given a week until mid December. Issue? Canton speakers and ventilated seats. Removed them and order was accepted by factory immediately. Each checkup with dealer I was given different week and it went something like this: Week 12 - 42 - 14 - 32 - 18 - 22 and eventually it was locked on 22nd week and was built that week (16-22nd May). Car was delivered to dealer on June 1st, and I am still waiting on some paperwork and insurance before delivery, but I saw it and it looks awesome, on top of all extras... Car is in Style level of trim and extras are: Lava Blue (Petrol) color EA9 Extended warranty PE2 Side and leg airbags 7W2 Proactive protection PWD Traffic sign recognition 3G2 Isofix 6SJ Trunk lining PK0 Electronic towing bar PXD Progressive steering PH1 Panoramic roof PXE Sleep package II 4L5 Rearview mirror with USB 6NC black molded headliner PJD Steel spare wheel PJ7 Triglav 19" wheels PLK 3-spoke Sport heated steering wheel Full leather ergoseats with memory, heated and ventilated Style Comfort and Function package (virtual pedal, heated windscreen, rearview usb and 230 volt sockets, Columbus radio) Style Business and View package (Park assist, front memory seats, heated side mirrors, rain sensor, light assist, 360 camera) Style Safety and Drive package (Virtual cockpit, front assist, lane assist, side assist, ACC up to 210kmph) PDD Alarm with Safe function YOY Online infotainment (Free) So in essence looking at it, what I did NOT get is 3rd row and Webasto aircon and Canton which I had to give up... Now onto the uglies - price changed so I had to pay around 6% more than agreed price from original in October. Dealer would not budge, apparently there have been 2 or 3 price hike since October and Skoda spilled that out to customers, not surprising. My options were to pay or to give up the car, they would return the money I gave when reserving it. Overall I am happy that I only had to give up Canton and nothing else, and I am not happy with the delays (was quoted January-Feb delivery) and price hike. Will add some photos here and I can add more if you guys want something specific taken once I take delivery
  4. A few from Folkestone this afternoon.
  5. My mk1s rear glass isn't delaminated and I thought It was just luck but no, I found broken glass under some of the trim pieces for the hatch so it was replaced at some point.
  6. @pab567 you are the man! Everything works like magic. Just needed to cut those little plastic molds from the 4-pin cable. It really is plug&play. And I thought I had to spend 900 bucks in a control unit, do some coding and component protection crap. They'll ake my life, but not my bigger display!
  7. Yeah, Ryan pretty standard. Both my MkI Fabias had delamination. Seen it on other cars as well.
  8. Mine is exactly the same and I've seen other Mk1s like that.
  9. Has been like that since I bought it. Am I right in thinking this is a common 'Fabiaism'? If it falls out, it falls out.
  10. I did this once from Cumbria to Norwich in my V6 ZS. Dull as and only got me 26MPG to boot 😂
  11. You should have seen it this morning. It's been washed and the headlamps and windows polished using Asda's finest glass and plastic cleaner. Here's some befores... I'm still finding bits I've missed, but it's looking not bad. The exterior hadn't been done since the start of May and had clocked up about 2k miles in that time. Next job is to do the interior as it hasn't been done in nearly a year... and with a Spaniel it shows.
  12. I can not, because i am Scottish and tight & buying fuel costs enough without putting snake oil in the tank.
  13. Just remove the entire bumper and the answer will present itself.

Today I kindly asked my dealer to send me VIN number - to check in MyŠKODA app. Doesn’t work, so clearly not finished yet. But did catch info of delayed delivery to week 24/22, this is next week. We’ll see what happens.
  15. It's common knowledge that these looms frequently give trouble in mk2 Fabia and others with similar connector/boot type, and it's not too tricky to eyeball the wiring under the rubber boot for obvious breakages in the door hinge area. Measuring wires end to end with a multimeter to check continuity may add reassurance that the wiring is really intact, and potentially help to locate faults to more exact locations. For example, the door lock module. If all the wires are measured as reaching their destinations it may save unnecessary loom replacement, or confirm loom fault if they don't. The photos and tables here relate only to one particular variant of loom, with part number 5J0971120GK from 2012 (the letters at the end being not always simply a 'revision number' but may actually be the only difference in the part number of functionally different loom variants). Thanks go to @jps711 for permission to use this loom for photos and information gathering during repair. If anyone wishes for info on looms with different part numbers, I may be able to help find the differences, and would welcome any unwanted/broken looms that might be cluttering up anyone's garages/sheds since replacement. For each I might receive I'd do dedicated wiring tables, with cross-checking against circuit diagrams. It's not completely straightforward to find the info via the circuits, as they are grouped by functions (e.g. mirrors, windows, locking), not 'here's the wiring diagram of the whole drivers door' for example. This is the area that always contains the faults, due to a poor design where the loom just bends back and forth with door movement, rather than a twisting action as used on earlier cars, with a vertical dog-leg in the rubber boot. The photos and wiring tables are from the 'destination connectors' points of view. I strongly recommend using short pieces of solid wire to temporarily insert into connectors at each measurement point, as many mulitmeter probes are not sufficiently fine to go in far enough to make good contact. Double check that the meter hasn't 'gone to sleep' or otherwise malfunctioned any time you don't get a beep when expecting one, do this by shorting the two probes to each other. This is the pin numbering arrangement of the door disconnect connector, viewed on the mating face. Be aware that the rotating orange latch needs to be in the open position to disconnect and reconnect this from/to the A-pillar male counterpart. Attempting to refit with the latch in the wrong position will fail, and can cause pin damage, possibly. On to the nitty-gritty of the pinouts. All photos are as above, of the mating face of the connector, observe the housing features to ensure same orientation: Pin number at this connector Wire colour(s) Pin number at 28-way door disconnect, and/or other conn 1 Blk/yel 9/28 2 Wht/blu 6/8 at mirror conn 3 Brn 16/28 4 Gry/blu 8/28 5 Blk/blu 7/28 6 Wht/grn 11/28 7 Wht/blu 7/8 at mirror conn 8 No connection 9 Grn 12/28 10 Wht/grn 8/8 at mirror conn Pin number at mirror interconnect connector Wire colour(s) Pin number at 28-way door disconnect, and/or other conn 1 No connection 2 No connection 3 No connection 4 Blk/red 13/28 5 Brn 16/28 6 2x Wht/blu 10/28 and mirror sw 2/10 7 Wht/blu mirror sw 7/10 8 Wht/grn mirror sw 10/10 Pin number at loudspeaker connector Wire colour(s) Pin number at 28-way door disconnect, and/or other conn 1 Brn/blu 22/28 2 No connection 3 Blu 21/28 4 No connection Pin number at Int monitor switch connector Wire colour(s) Pin number at 28-way door disconnect, and/or other conn 1 Blu 17/28 2 No connection 3 Red/blk 15/28 4 Brn/yel 18/28 Pin number at WM connector Wire colour(s) Pin number at 28-way door disconnect, and/or other conn 1-3 inclusive No connections 4 Grn/blk window sw 4/4 5 Gry/wht 5/28 6 Wht/blk window sw 3/ 4 7 Brn 16/28 8 Thick brn 24/28 9-15 inclusive No connections 16 Thick Red/wht 25/28 Pin number at window switch connector Wire colour(s) Pin number at 28-way door disconnect, and/or other conn 1 Brn 16/28 2 Gry/blu 8/28 3 Wht/blk 6/16 at Window Motor 4 Grn/blk 4/16 at WM Pin number at lock connector Wire colour(s) Pin number at 28-way door disconnect, and/or other conn 1 Brn 23/28 2 Blu/yel 1/28 3 Vio/yel 2/28 4 Grn/yel 3/28 5 Yel/brn 4/28 6 Brn 16/28 7 Yel/blu 6/28 8 No connection Please let me know if you find errors or omissions in the above, or if you know how to format it so the tables are alongside the photos! 16. Probably the G65 modulating valve, might be the pressure transducer not reading the pressure. If you have access to VCDS you can look for the compressor shut down code which may say something like low pressure if the sender is foutu. If there is no shut down code and it shows the modulating valve being actuated and a corresponding compressor torque (which will be fantasy) but no cooling of the evaporator then its either the G65 valve, the pulley shear plate or stripped plines on the alloy hub.
  17. Looks like they never reset in in April then. Someone here should be able to tell you how to just reset it yourself if your Yeti's Service Indicator is set at Fixed Service intervals. No plugging in required to set it. http://mr-fix.info/reset-skoda-yeti-oil-service-reminder
  18. Your rear screen seems to be delaminating, Ryan.
  19. I have now fitted a set of Mk7 Golf 16’s and the ride is more settled. Also the DSG feels quicker to engage and change gear. Maybe it’s just in the mind!
  20. The 205/55R16 fitted to a 6.5Jx16 ET50 rim should fit in the spare wheel well. If you get a puncture, you will need somewhere to put the punctured wheel. The Octavia MK2 didn't come with a 125/70R18 space saver. If you fit a 125/70R18 space saver you have pressure to get the punctured tyre mended quickly. By using a 205/55R16 as a spare tyre, you can take your time. There's no cost saving in using a space saver, as they usually cost more than a standard 205/55R16. 21. ^ It looks proud of its new headlamps 😛
  22. CJJE I think that is for when phones are used in a holder on the dashboard or windscreen etc - Driving Assistant will let you run navigation on your phone screen. I am querying what Google navigation system can be wired to the Infotainment unit.
  23. I don't use it but understand Google are replacing it with 'Driving Assistant' which seems to be built in to the Android System. More details here: Google Is About to Stop You Using Android Auto on Your Phone (makeuseof.com) Chris
  24. Yes, compare the photos in some ebay listings for replacements and you'll see that there are bits broken off/ missing on yours which aren't readily repairable. I wouldn't bother spending money on replacing it if I were in your position.

That's it all done, Ceramic coated
  26. Thanks roottoot, Do you know what the difference with the DSG box is? As in characteristics? Im assuming my 17plate A4 avant and Golf R Estate would have had a wet clutch then? Thanks
  27. Virtual Cockpit works with Amundsen 5Q0035864C (non-DAB) and 5Q0035874C (DAB/DAB+) and MIB2.5 Columbus (5650350....). With Amundsen, you can display the map either on display unit or Virtual Cockpit while with Columbus you can display map simultaneously on both.
  28. ^^^ Thanks. I just spotted the news article when looking for more about them. There are lots of Tory Donors involved with EV's now including EV's and Subscription. Hard not to get political, but the UK Government supposedly wanted to take back control and have fuel security. Supposedly reducing the importation of oil and gas. Allowing a monopoly over EV charging in the UK into the hands of overseas investors and owners will be something they will be fine with.
  29. Fabia estate 1.0 TSI SE It's had three services every year 2020/21/22
  30. The chargers in the video went live last week. MfG are currently subject to a takeover offer.... https://news.sky.com/story/abu-dhabi-state-oil-giant-weighs-5bn-bid-for-motor-fuel-group-12626882 That'll make that tory doner much richer....
  31. 1.5tsi, with DSG

Not sure what your source is. Two hits on google tell me that Skoda is above Seat.
  33. Yea, this is the symptom of microswitch. I bought mine as second hand for £50 (quite new though from extremely low mileage car) and replaced it myself.
  34. Thanks for the welcome!! Thats correct. The cars from Feb 2019. 13k miles. MOT passed this February with no issues
  35. When I got my 1.4 16v it had the cap fitted straight onto the cam cover, that made refilling the oil a bit of a chore with pulling the engine cover off. I bought an extension on eBay from Latvia of all places to make the job easier. It's just push and twist like the cap.
  36. Columbus comes in MIB1 / MIB2 / MIB2.5 / MIB3 flavours Virtual Dash requires MIB2.5 and higher. AndroidAuto/CarPlay, Smartlink, MirrorLink requires MIB2 and higher Wireless AndroidAuto/CarPlay required MIB3.
  37. I was going to buy my year old Kamiq with cash but salesman explained the deal you get with finance. Two services, one worth £199 and one £299. I opted for smallest amount I could have on finance over shortest time (18 months) so interest cost will be about £130. Seemed to be a no brainer to me. £500 worth of servicing for £130, less if you pay the loan off earlier.

continental EU, daily about 35-50 tops. why?
  39. I have an O ring splicing kit, had it probably 20 years now and not actually used it yet but one day it is going to be worth its weight in gold.
  40. You keep the front part (which goes to the 5th door) from the original, you shorten the length of the Front door grommet You keep the back end (which goes to the body of the car) and the ''neck'' and you glue it with the original. After reinforcing the glued area for example with paper adhensive tape you make a test (up and down the 5th door few times) and Voila!
  41. Interesting choice of words there. "Hasn't completed a regen" is not the same as hasn't been regen'ed. Assuming you are UK based this will not end well. DPF delete is MOT fail. If your driving profile fits the use of a car with dpf just use the £800 saved and get it replaced.
  42. Amazing mpg, well done. Just a few days after I got my 2015 CitiGo wife and I did a 160 mile return journey to Anglesey to pick up her 63 plate CitiGo and the PID showed 69.x mpg which I was very pleased with. I thought I may be able to get over 70mpg in better conditions, but now I have bigger aims. I hyper miled my gen4 Prius hybrid and got 92.6 on a 100 mile journey, and 96.x on a 50 mile journey, many times in 80+ mpg, pleased with them figures.
  43. Tricky having an electric motor on the hot side of an engine, the magnets wouldn't last long, I'm aware of the sci-fi existence of these things but the A45 is a real car with a very oversize turbo for a 2.0 four banger, hence the crazy power output, I imagine it's pretty laggy nonetheless. Also water methanol injection has been around for donkeys ears, it's a strategy to prevent detonation by quenching hot spots and does nothing to help spool, if anything it increases lag due to the latent heat losses incurred during vaporisation. Removing heat means less energy to spin that turbo. GCSE Physics FTW.
