...well after 2 years of looking and procrastinating our beloved 2015 1.4 L&k Yeti is gone. After much searching and many test drives we have now part exchanged for a pre-registered Kia Niro. In some ways not really a patch on the Yeti, but has some usefull features and I really wanted an auto box, (and a 7 year warranty helps ease the pain of transition!). Nothing I tried came close to the practicallity and "quality feel" of the Yeti which will be much missed, although concerns regarding the eventual possibility of a pan roof failure, and a few other problems that had started to become potentially costly concerns? The things I prefer on the Niro are the auto box, fuel economy, (first 50 mile journey from the dealer showed 65mpg on the computer), although the 1.4 returned 44mpg (actual) over the 4+ years we had it), and adaptive cruise control, 7 year warranty, no potential pan roof problems. The things in the Yeti's favour are practicality whike being relatively small, (seat removal), comfort, "quality", (feels very "soild" compared to more modern offerings), performance, loads of extras on the L&K although some not used, (auto parking....why????). If they still made them, (or something very similar) it would have been a no brainer to simply get another one, (auto). I even thought about trying to get one of the last 2017 SEL Drives, but they are now 5 years old and I didn't fancy spending that sort of money on a VAG car with no real warranty. I can say that to date, the Yeti has been the best car I have ever owned!! ...so goodbye to this forum and thanks to all for all the help over the last few years....and if you have a "good" Yeti, then I would strongly recommend keeping it as long as you can!!
  3. Wouldnt be touching brembo with a barge pole... terrible brakes as their aftermarket friction materials are just made by a company in china that bought the rights to the brand. Regarding failing for brakes, id always be getting a second opinion, its too easy for people to fail a car and expect you to trust them completely when they are in it to make a profit.
  4. Not an actual update but I want to post something related to this up. I've not been able to get out to work on the cars since but I've been gathering parts up. For this I've got new plates New Track Rods, inner and outer as well as new ball joints. Nothing glamorous but stuff that needs doing if it's to even have a hope of passing NCT. Also have got a quote for this car insured with me as the main driver (and no named drivers) for around 1100 euro, which is actually fairly decent compared to what I was getting before. Was hoping I'd have everything I bought for the car done to it this week but that wasn't happening.
  5. As per the suggestion from @MarkyG82also take a look at all the tyres for sawtoothing - that's been reported to be the cause of strange noises several times on here.
  6. I used to be into the detailing / taking nice photos of my cars. Now, it's a family work horse!
  7. As the title says. Picked up my '19 plate Sportline Plus from the dealer yesterday. Nice drive back. Parked up quickly today as entered a space with traffic passing - managed to kerb both nearside wheels in doing so. 19" Vegas scratched to ****. I am a very unhappy man.

Interesting afternoon. Red Bull completely unable to run at LeClercs pace at one of Max' favourite tracks. Did he pass him 3 times or 4? Stewarding getting really intrusive in some cases though. I mean, fining all the podium trio? endless track limits policing? penalties for daring to race other drivers? Nanny-state rubbish.
  10. Kopacek is the one, which is of course the web addy but as soon as I saw "superskoda" I knew it was the right one, and it is! Top man @skomaz👍

Not a chance of getting rid of a dent that size unless you're a trained panel beater with access to the necessary tools, even then the wing will need repainting. I can't believe anyone would think otherwise, incredible!
  12. 1 point
I'd say pull it from the outside. Or use one of the HatBoyHarvey videos online to get behind the wing and then batter it out from the inside. Worst case scenario, grab another wing from a breaker or something.
  13. Autocar 29 Jun 2022 did a test of an Enyaq 80 towing a Bailey Discovery 4-2. They reported an approximate 50% reduction in range. Makes you think. What is needed is for a caravan manufacturers to just build a van with batteries in the flat floor, that will sort out the range anxiety. You could then just charge the van, or the car, or both. The knock on effect would be the increase in weight which would then cause complications with the max-train weight. tom
  14. no not sorted, have an local auto electrician coming to fit new door harness and bellows. I did find the broken wire made a connection and the windows worked as they should but, at least four of the wires inside the bellows showed damage , best to have new harness i think. as i have said i removed the bellows on the door side fixed the wire but could not get the bellow to fix back . thankyou for your time. there is not much info on the door side bellow fitting as most people find wires close to the door post connection block damaged .Cheers nz100
  15. The only real benefit is youll put the back up of most garages if you try and supply your own parts - many wont even entertain it and others wont warrant the work. On top of that most people that try and save a few pennies by getting their own parts often end up buying the cheapest stuff they see which a lot of the time ends up to be a part that wont fit your car. A lot of me generalising but basically for the average car owner its not a good idea to attempt to supply your own parts for most jobs. My 67 plate superb is on 52k miles and still has more than 50% left on the fronts and 30% on the rears. Mileage and age are not a good indicator, you need to physically inspect them to know for sure. There are 2 variants of brake setups for the front - 272/280bhp brakes and everything else. The difference between the smaller and larger is not massive in terms of size and braking performance can be measured in so many ways there is no yes/no answer- what is your issue with the brakes? Are they vibrating, not stopping as quick as you want them to, squeaking? Upgrading to the larger brakes requires new calipers, carriers, pads, discs and coding in the ABS module.
  16. Yeah, that’s it. Previous Kodiaq had dedicated button, but new Sportline message comes up end call , pressing button B ends call. Note.. For those old enough to remember, pressing button B does not return coins if nobody answers.
  17. There should be one on the steeri g wheel?
  18. It will be hard to prove whose fault it is, unless it is a brand new car. I will be doing a wheel alignment anyway if/when I get new front tyres. My concern is if all Karoqs are set this way and have a wear on the outside edge of the tyre.
  19. Hi all, I've decided to refurb the old calipers as the sliders are free, it's just the piston rubber that is split. I've bought a piston kit from Biggred that includes all the seals. I'm in the process of removing the caliper now which is fairly straightforward but I can't seem to Clamp the brakehose off to stop the fluid dripping out. I have a brake pipe clamp which is not doing the job and I need to have the caliper removed from the vehicle for an hour is so to work on it. Any ideas?
  20. My money's on rear tyres as Marky said. Saw toothing or out of balance.

Hello, welcome, it is English for posting on this forum, unless someone reads German and replies. I see you have already found the updates thread, pabs is Polish and I have no idea if he reads German so you might want to use the following Google translation there. - Hello guys 😊 I am urgently looking for a new update for my car radio with the number 5E0035020A .Hardware:H41.Software:0196. VIN number: TMBJJ7NE7E0068558.Bj2014 If someone can help me, I would be very happy 😀

Hi everyone, just a post to say hello and introduce myself. I have just bought myself a Mk2 Octavia VRS Blackline estate, 2.0TDI early 2013 model on a 62 plate only 69000 miles I have had a few VW golfs before but this is my first Skoda, likeing it so far (only a week) I have been on a few owners forums in the past so know what is expected from me and what to gain in return.👍 I am a semi-retired race car mechanic currently running a BMW Z4 GT3 in British Endurance Championship. My other interests are Fishing (carp and barbel) and Music especially Rock and Metal 🤘🤘 And I am a Tottenham Hotspur supporter (don't hold that against me🤣) Thats it for now Rik
  23. Took off +ve terminal, easiest for me. Worked fine, hope it does for you. Remember to reset clock, etc.
  24. Find someone on here with VCDS there is a post/sticky with a map. Hopefully do it for nothing or some beer tokens.
  25. I bought a second hand kitchen (had to remove it myself) I only took the Yeti and not the trailer to give me more bargaining power which did not work at all, I loaded everything that I could in the car & took it back to base to return with the trailer for the remaining 3 units with others stacked inside them, before doing so I went through every permutation of how they could fit in without needing the trailer, it was so so close but impossible, I could have left the rear hatch open but it was pointless as the trailer was there to be used. It is a big trailer, and takes sheets of plasterboard etc laid flat, I was shocked to find that the 3 units pretty much filled it lengthwise, I kept looking at it and then the empty Yeti and it just didn't seem possible, an Octavia Estate it isn't but the space with the seats out is deceptive. Mind you in an Octavia I would have got the lot in in one go and not needed a return trip trailer or otherwise. Schtum, yes i was thinking that it would have been the only vehicle remaining on an obselete platform, mine is so similar in many ways to my previous Octavia 2, not surprising considering they are the same platform and share virtually everything, what is surprising is that to drive it feels completely different, a completely different car, I expected it to feel like an Octavia but more upright, it doesn't and actually feels far more nimble and sporty, the 4x4 probably explains a lot of that and the CR engine is a jewel compared to the PD engine. I wont get rid of mine even though being back doing major renovation works for the next few years an Octavia or Superb would be much more sensible, my pals are hectoring me to get a van but the truth is the Yeti feels like a keeper and anything else would lack its je ne sais quoi, and thats not a pun, I really cannot tell you what it is that has gripped me. The lack of space will be its saviour, I have to use one of the trailers now for any serious load so it wont get beat up like the Octavias did.

very very pleased for you.let us all to know how you find the cars, good points and hopefully no bad points.
  27. Still going strong after 6 years
  28. Given that there seems to be no comparable vehicle now and peoples fondness for them its surprising they stopped production.
  29. Stu , in a very similar place to you. Just today the Yeti took me and my mountain bike plus gear for a day out. We have been clearing out my mother in laws house so numerous trips to the charity shops or tip. The Yeti does it all. so Im at 5 years AND contemplating the £500 cam chain service. I think on balance I will keep it and await developments in EV’s as the next option
  30. Just to put this one to bed, was a split in one of the boost pipes. All sorted and all running A1 now 🙂
  31. It has been reported on many of these motoring forums that strange noises can come from the door seals when the body<>doors move relative to each other, it tends to be Krytox etc that people are advised to use - that stuff is used a lot on car that have folding steel roofs it seems. I am just clarifying that nothing more.

68 (sixty eight!!!) weeks Jerry!!! Outstanding patience sir. Enjoy
  33. If its any comfort you ain't alone!!!!
  34. Yeah. I've used ceratec and didn't have problems. To check part numbers you will need to confirm brake size / type or better the pr code for the brakes fitted.
  35. People use all sorts of grease on slider pins; usually what they have to hand at that moment. Quite a lot are unsuitable for long term use and will migrate from the bearing surface, damage the bearing surface, rot the rubber and generally cause headaches. Silicone grease is not normally recommended for metal/metal surfaces and what you have may not have the high temperature / pressure specifications of a dedicated guide pin grease like Molykote G-3407 https://www.dupont.com/products/molykote-g-3407-caliper-pin-grease.html. Hard to find in small quantities but occasionally pops up on your favourite auction site. Wurth make a brake paste but only rate it to 160C and not the 200C of the G-3407. But at least you can buy it easily in sachets. Or Proslip pin grease. Ceratec from Mintex is OK. New pins are cheap enough and will remove any doubts about galling caused by incorrect lubrication.
  36. @R_Blue you are doing very well already and with a lot more knowledge than many drivers. Best to avoid the hazards than adapt as you can encounter more than you expect and sooner than you expect. I was told a few driving tips when I was young, before I could drive, and having a young mind some of them stuck but putting them into practice is another learning experience. I've not encounter much standing water or floods but I did once panic at an unexpected event and got myself into trouble I need not have, that reinforces the memory. I think possibly that English isn't your first language if you think my writing is good. 🤣
  37. After 15 months of waiting... Finally arrived Superb Sportline 206kw. Dad's family car
  38. @Rob1984 What kind of thing was done to make it a 'Full Service'. Oil & Filters, Spark Plugs, Pollen & Air Filter. How much did you pay?

The Slovenian police just received the last 53 of the total order of 203 2.0 Octavias Estate version. The rest of us, we have to wait and wait.😡.. On 12 July, it'll be one year since I placed the order, but I'm still clueless about the production and delivery of my car. No info at all so far from the car dealer. I tried to get some information with the help of a person working in the Skoda in a managerial position (through someone who knows that person) with no success.
  43. A friend of mine with Opel Astra, he thought he could pass some stagnant water, the car stopped, he turn the engine off and then tried to turn it on! This cost him 1600 euro because the soaked water end up inside the engine and "game over".
  44. Your reasoning is well found. Personal account. A mate of mine had a (then new) Ford Sierra RS4x4 (V6) with a similar intake position. He hit a sheet of standing water maybe 2" (say 5cm) deep, and didn't just hydrolock the engine but put 2 con rods through the block!
