  1. Not today, but last weekend. So I scratched one of my rear alloy pretty badly two weeks ago. I could not find any color-match paint for the wheel. In the end, I decided to paint all four wheels into silver. Have to say, the silver is not what I thought at the beginning. It is too white-ish to me, not that cold/metalic-ish silver. But the final result is not bad at all.
  2. 1 day with 1941, 4 drives, 350km total, AA, Waze, Spotify, no reboot, no bugs.
  3. Okay, here’s my report: 5 days have passed since the 1941 update. I did 630 km so far and no reboot or any other bug. I use wireless Apple CarPlay all the time with Spotify and Google Maps.
  4. Thread cleaned again. did some this am but rushing for a meeting. please keep the bickering to a minimum. if you don’t agree that’s fine, but as per the guidelines, please be nice. i’d maybe go so far as to revise that to: be nice.
  5. For those that have loaded 1941, if you can keep providing feedback on how many days you have gone without a reboot (or any other symptom) that would be most helpful. "Been 5 days, and no reboot so far" for example. "WiFi on, Bluetooth on and using wireless Android Auto" etc... the more detail you can provide the better it will be for those sitting on the fence. It will help out the community no end 🤝
  6. I've booked the Fabia in for it's MOT a week today (28th June). This will be the first MOT since it expired in September 2016, so the break in the MOT history will be substantial to say the least. I'll get some better full underneath shots when it's up on the ramp. Once it's MOT'd, I shall tax it for 6 months then start using it to get the miles on. (for those of you worried about me driving it in the post above it was on Trade Plates to get it home.)
  7. It's amazing the difference a mint rear screen makes. They stand out so much when the glue starts showing through. I love these updates Trev, it's further proof the car has ended up in the right hands and not being ragged to death or broken for spares.
  8. As thread title, it's time for me to say goodbye to Kermit, our Rallye Green Octavia vRS Estate and the forums, and move on. Just bought a 19 plate Focus ST I havent contributed much over the 3 years I've been a member here, but the help and advice has been invaluable during my ownership- who knows I might find my way back in the future. Will probably still linger about the off-topic stuff. Cheers everyone :)
  9. Hi all. Maybe this will give some of you guys some hope. I copied this message from German FB group from a respectable source. Translation might be a little bit off since this is FB automatic translation from German. Good evening friends of neat cars! 🙋🏻 ♂️ As promised, here's a summary of the newly published TPI for the NX update of the Infotainment (5F) on Firmware 1941. TPI Process Number: 2065556/9 Released: 06/16/2023 Valid only to vehicles carrying MIB3 (PR No. 8AR) Released for firmware stands: 1788, 1803, 1804, 1806, 1810, 1889, 1896, 1899, 1900 If I have understood it correctly, then vehicles that are being produced newly will get the 1940. from KW 25/2023 I don't know if there's a difference between 1940 and 1941 But probably it is only to distinguish whether this was already on from work or an update was made later. The following errors should be corrected: - Setting the ambient lighting impossible. - The Unexpected Happens At ACC Delay or Unintentional Acceleration - Driving profile selection cannot be changed. - AirCare cannot be activated - Wi-Fi without function - Ads in the "Car" menu are incorrect - Screen (ABT) of the 5F stays black - the ABT displays this: Component Protection Activated - RFK sometimes fails, is covered up by a pop-up, flackers or is delayed (everything sporadic) - Air conditioning menu is not displayed correctly - welcome screen cannot be disabled - sporadically the 5F starts and then again (reset - restart) - Sound settings of the 5F are not saved - Audio output via Bluetooth keeps interrupting - Duration of the title played is not represented correctly - sporadically, "clapping sounds" can be heard from the speakers, it will not play sound, over Bluetooth, the voice control is without function - Vehicle position is not displayed correctly (Navi) - navigation will not start - Preferred targets are not saved - Navigation will not be restarted automatically after the break - Navi card in 17 (VC) is not displayed correctly - creating a main user is impossible - Connect apps and software updates cannot be started These are also all the points you can call as a complaint at the 🙂 to get the update about the TPI. For all who are still under warranty, the update should be free. If you are outside the warranty, you have to ask for Kulanz and if necessary. pay for it yourself. Any questions that are not answered here, get in touch... Hoping that with the update there will be some "moving forward" I wish you all good luck at the 🙂!
  10. Yes its all the same
  11. New thread title to reflect the insanity that is the work being carried out on this car.
  12. internal functionality could still very different. and 1 thing about all VAG cars... they are sensitive souls and very fussy about their sensors...

Your module supports both channels but the harness you get has connection only for one channel - you must add two wires between the black module bplug and green radio plug.
  14. Hi @Shuggy81uk I've got a driver's side 2016 electrically heated, electrically-adjustable but NOT electrically folding, right hand driver's mirror assembly for sale on eBay, ex my now-sold vRS estate. I fitted electrically folding mirrors to that hence this is available. There is a picture on the eBay listing of the connector. Search for "genuine Skoda Mk3 vRS right hand driver's wing mirror assembly - black". It has got six wires: yellow, white, red, black/blue, black/red and white/brown. This might assist you! Cheers
  15. There are filling stations where staff might well come out if they can be bothered, double manned and tell you commercial vehicles only. I just told them the car is Business & Commercial use and i will have a VAT receipt please. PS Re VW Official and AdBlue / SCR. There was the issue. Daimler -Benz had the system and licensed to VW & BMW and then for the USA they would need big AdBlue tanks for Mericans not to have to top up often, so there was an answer. 'Defeat Device' Software, AdBlue sipped and emissions high most of the time and SCR system working under test conditions. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diesel_exhaust_fluid BMW & VW fines $1 Billion for running emissions cartel. European Commission fined them for colluding with Daimler to hold back the development of technology that could have reduced harmful emissions from their vehicles. http://fleetnews.co.uk/news/manufacturer-news/2021/07/09/bmw-and-vw-group-fined-751m-for-emissions-collusion
  16. And so much easier topping up from a pump rather than out of a 10l container. 👍 I just wish I could find a petrol station near me that has such a thing fitted for car use. Not sure whether we are welcome/able to use the HGV pumps. As a slight side note, how much is AB from a pump these days? I’ve noticed the 10l containers have virtually doubled in price.
  17. Why to bother with maps on cocpit which are not Google maps.. maps on cocpit would be good only if there would be possible to use Google maps which is personalized with daily routine / favourites etc.. VAG is way behind other companies which already implemented google stuff and it is much better..
  18. Worthwhile hanging about, even as a non-skoda owner, or us half/half types... Aw tha best.
  19. That's the safest strategy, but if the connector fits, I would imagine that one may work. It's nothing special, just a 4-wire binary oxygen sensor. Lots of people think the suffix is 'only a revision level' but it's often not that simple. For example, the front, 5/6-wire wideband sensor on your car is 036906262G. Clearly this wouldn't fit or work as a rear one.
  20. Okay guys, go to trodo website as I described previously and then click check if these are suitable for your vehicle. Input vehicle details - Yeti 1.2 80kw and lo and behold website says ,yes suitable for your vehicle and states "suitable for vehicle with heavy duty suspension" ??????
  21. This is still the correct part number (using the VIN helpfully put in your profile). The suffix -F part may be completely different in function and fitment.
  22. @varooom is good with P/N's IIRC.
  23. The specsavers comment wasn't aimed at you @Carlston
  24. There's no mention of "heavy duty" for the Monroe 401147RM front shock absorbers on trodo, as shown below, and I'm accessing their website using a chromebook not a mobile, so it should be showing all the details. autodoc don't mention "heavy duty" either. 25. Looking at the wiring and also controller outputs, fuse 22 suplies the BCM and also the "connector for diagnostic connection". This might have been the problem... missing diagnostics.
  26. Ok.. we have movement.. Had car opened and key’s made.. Keys open and lock doors, radio works. Hooked up ANCEL VD700 and lots of issues but can’t read ecu. Also dash does not light up and start button does nothing.. With battery connected it sounds like fuel pump or something is making zzz noises every now and again.. Guess we check fuses and go from here.. Assuming keys are programmed correctly if they unlock it but hoping gods start to smile on us soon..
  27. Hi @steelyboy Thanks for that, it helped me determine that I think all 6 wire connectors have heated mirrors, non power folding mirrors and electric so managed to pick one up at a scrap yard for a pretty good price. Have a good one! S
  28. A couple of years ago I upgraded the factory halogen reversing lights with Auxito LED lights. While the improvement was great, I still found it a "bit" lacking. So I put a set of iilumo LED lights - phwoahhhh, a nice improvement again. Then.... Now.... The comparison...
  29. as a first eliminator (but depends on your maxidot options) Maxidot Light & Vision Rear wiper Activate/Deactivate rear window wiping (see what happens then) and this one is a bit left field.. Manual page 71 The rear window is wiped once automatically if the windscreen wipers are on when reverse gear is selected (maybe this happens if the windscreen wiper controls are set to 'Automatic' and you start the car to reverse down your driveway?)

A committee of Cross Party MP,s seem to see what the Prime Minister, Chancellor, Energy Minister, Business & Transport Ministers and others that are the Cabinet members and who form the Government can not see or speak out on. http://news.sky.com/story/goal-to-decarbonise-power-system-by-2035-jeopardised-by-lack-of-plan-12906589 Grant Shapps MP is a bit of a 'spacer' . Rishi Sunak MP just a happy clappy type. All is good with him!
  31. No! Terrible idea, when you’re going down the motorway with a roof box or such and the wind pushes it off the car and into the car behind, well, I hope your insurance is good 😂

I am a fan of Birmingham and am constantly surprised that so many believe Manchester is a greater city than Birmingham despite it being less than half the size although the whole Black Country is oft regarded as a separate city/area. Birmingham has many poor areas but also some quite wealth areas. Drove through back areas of Solihull and it has some very wealthy areas. Worked in the financial area of Birmingham ie around Snowhill and some opulent building there. After 13 years of Conservative rules, well 5 years with the Lib-Dems, it is no surprise that social inequality has risen and the lack of care for the poor is very evident from our government over that period. Proper minimum wages and benefits whilst they continue to pander to the well off. The introduction and then dropping of the extra 1.5% NI benefit high wage and the continued and even extended tax relief on very high amounts of annual pension contributions has long been an area where some expected a change in tax laws to reduce that 42% tax avoidance percentage. The lack of compassion by the UK government on the massive hike in interest rates, partly through their own incompetence ie the Truss/Kwatang debacle, shows little regard to both mortgage holders and those indirectly affected rents who are being asked to pay the mortgages of their landlord's higher buy to rent mortgages. An unbelieve lack of empathy in my view. Much more pain to come for these people but hopefully a change in government next year will start to easy this rampant capitalism.
  33. That is a good shout. 5GHz wifi is good for speed, but 2.4GHz works better through walls and over longer distances.
  34. Bear in mind that you'll notice a difference with new suspension anyway. My advice is just drive it and if it's still annoying you in 6 weeks time, do something about it then.
  35. You need to make sure that they have a snug fit, those pictured don't. I know on my FiL's Yeti, there's locating holes for pins for additional security. Maybe a bit of gaffa tape would help 🤪

And Lorna Slater speaks so highly of you.
  37. White man speak with Blurry tongue 😛 Gaz
  38. 2016 that would be a mib2 high. The later would be sounds like mib1 high. Before my time. Mib2 maps you update with @MartiniB excellent links. 330 is the release. You need a 64gb standard SD card to be safe... gets marginal on 32gb. If using a Mac you need to use cleanmydrive after its on the SD else it will trip on the signature due to mac rubbish in the download. PCs are fine. That's the map. Then it's @pcbbcpost Horses for courses. If you want DIY you buy an https://obdeleven.com/en/home/62-pro-pack-0758277987813.html That's the black one works with Android or iOS. White one cheaper Android only. You can mix and match just the device and Pro license. Some people buy from Amazon on next day delivery then buy the Pro license online. Then once installed you do a scan. Then in to the 5f unit. Adaptions. Search TMC. Put the correct code in as per pcbbc, save long hold on green button of app. Reboot the unit. 10 second hold on, on / off. Job done. My example on the 14 code for mib2 highv
  39. Wasn't sure when I'd get another opportunity to find a Fabia like that, so took my chance and harvested all the good stuff. Thankfully the other Ryan is an automotive electrician, and wired his own rear electric windows in on his 07 plate "was once a 1.2 Bohemia" Golf PD150 engined estate. So I'm just going to do the easier job of the 6 disc changer while he swears at the car for a bit. The guy who painted his car is going to do the gold doors, making them flamenco red so my car doesn't look a bit daft. We hacked that Elegance apart for anything we even thought we may need. We should be prepared enough. Ryan's (not me, I don't speak about myself in the third person... usually) after a Mk1 saloon to PD, but wants a petrol manual base (so an AUB or equivalent)... this suits me fine for the masterplan (not to be confused with that one Oasis album). Already out in the car! Had one tape left lying in the little DIN drawer which is now in the machine. Got a box out with some cracking albums. Will take a photo later!
  40. I'm genuinely not sure which I prefer - all black or with the body colour (for the graphite grey at least
  41. Was that a technician from the dealership that said that the sound was normal? Did they not have other cars with a DSG at the dealership that you could try. They would clearly not be normal and not making a noise like that. Best get it is for a diagnosis while under warranty, maybe at another dealership where they give a damn.
  42. @rcblur69 You probably know that you need to do some longer runs, taking account of driving style, traffic and seasonal conditions. Your commute is much too short to evaluate a true mpg figure and your engine is barely warm. My commute takes 15-20 minutes to do 10 miles on A roads at 50-60 mph with 1 roundabout to stop at only if the lights are red. The engine oil usually takes 8 miles to reach 80c temperature. I see 30-32 mpg in winter and 35-38 mpg in summer with 40-43 mpg on long motorway runs, cruising at a true 70 mph, as long as there aren't too many delays caused by accidents etc. My 272 uses a little more fuel than my previous TFSI & TSI ranging from 200 to 300 BHP. I think they offer fantastic economy for the performance.
  43. I've generally learned it's better to pay attention to the OH than the keyboard 😅
  44. Yes pressed reply accidentally whilst my wife was talking to me. 🙄
  45. Having seen someone on another group, I think it looks lovely on green.
  46. Just for the record, I bought the VCDS & Tuning box over the weekend and @The Skud provided me with a tracking number by Monday lunchtime and they arrived on Tuesday morning. Exactly as described and even helped me out getting registered as the 2nd user. Very happy buyer 😁
  47. Its highly unlikely leads go faulty in such a short time/mileage scale. Genuine Skoda replacement have a 2 year warranty. Many aftermarket have the same or longer warranty. Who is diagnosing the faulty leads, how and what are the symptoms? Presumably its a cbzb engine 1.2tsi 105ps. Plugs need changing at 40,000 miles with iridium fine tip (NGK if you have leads with 9k resistance or Bosch if the leads are copper core or low resistance). Two types of leads are available, the original style are unsheathed and have a resistance of 9k ohms. Later ones have corrugated trunking protecting them (called marten protection) these are better are protecting the leads from heat damage from the exhaust/turbo. You should make sure leads are clipped away from the heat shield. Coils can and do break down, usually when the leads go open circuit or your plugs are too worn out. Unprotected style no.3 lead is the usual lead to fail, as it rests on the heat shield. My guess is someone incorrectly thinks leads are faulty because they don't buzz out with a continuity tester. Or perhaps some incorrect cheap non fine tip plugs are fitted. Or something else is causing misfires or rough running, unrelated to ignition.
  48. Go on one of the alloy wheel sellers websites and put both vehicles into the checker, they show the wheels that fit and the spec for the wheels for each vehicle. www.alloywheels.com allows you to check by make and model if you don't have the reg.
