  1. Oh, you know those guys so well!!! I'm scheduled for the update at the dealership next week, and the guy was warning me it will take 3-4 hours... I didn't know whether to laugh, cry or feel insulted... Not sure if they're lying to their clients or if they're Simply not-Clever.
  2. After living with 1941 for about a week. Came here from 1896. Had no big problems, apart from Canton settings getting reset and random restarts on startup. Now all the bugs are gone. Whole system feels faster, everything boots quicker. Reverse camera is instant now. Apple carplay seems to boot up quicker and it seems gps reception is better (before that got weak signal when using waze etc.) so i dunno if this is the software or just coincidence. But for now I’m very happy with it.
  3. Looks like this sw is savior, no one complaining for now🙂
  4. I don't understand the opening post, never been R line trim on Karoq I have similar 1.0tsi DSG on our Arona, and never had problems pulling away (although I always turn off start-stop), only ever use S mode for overtaking. Front sensors are £415 option on Kamiq Monte Carlo, if Op wanted them why didn't he/she specify them Who gets told to swap cars from a fictional spec. Feels like a troll post to me, especially as all done in bold type.
  5. All I can say is that my 1.0l dsg Kamiq bears absolutely no resemblance to the performance characteristics you mention. Very quick off the mark - much more so than when I drove my 140bhp manual Yeti. Never used the S mode and dsg infinitely slicker than me using the manual mode. Also easily kicks down to lower gears with no persuasion. I find the engine gearbox combination a perfect match and faultless in performance.
  6. @skomazThere is no point having a car with no dealership near. Or a bad dealership. eg Arnold Clark / Park's Motor Group. It was bad enough getting a car 1 mile away from a good dealership and them giving up the brand and then ending up with Arnold Clark 20 miles away as your place to deal with. Mazda would be hopeless and it has a battery the size of a MINI, & terrible efficiency. As for Funky Cat. Big battery, big range, and long trip on a transporter if it goes wrong. @lol-lol Toyota had the skills with a car with a 32 litre fuel tank and 2 rear seats to put a motor at the rear and a battery pack enough for a city car where the engine was, or motor there and battery at the rear. As it was as an ICE it has an amazing turning circle, like a Honda-e or other EV,s have now. More room for a battery and far better underpinning / suspension than a SMART Fortwo EV had & still has.
  7. You need to go to the developer options in Android Auto. Not the Android system settings.
  8. Changed a bit. Cruising at as near the Motorway NSL one needing to be wearing ear defenders. With a maximum top speed of 72 mph (116 km/h), a curb weight of 1411 lbs (640 kgs), the Mini 850 has a naturally-aspirated Inline 4 cylinder engine, Petrol motor. This engine produces a maximum power of 34 PS (34 bhp - 25 kW) at 5500 rpm and a maximum torque of 60.0 Nm (44 lb.ft) at 5500 rpm. The power is transmitted to the road by the Front wheel drive (FWD) with a 4 speed Manual gearbox.

  10. Boy, I wish I’d kept SWMBO Panda 4x4 given how much they’re now worth. Loved that car, but the rear diff was so noisy, thought it was time to say goodbye…🙄
  11. R-line? What gets me about posters like this they always blame tools rather than themselves. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and I'm not criticising the driving style one little bit, but I am questioning what anyone considering a 1.0tsi DSG powering an SUV is expecting from their car? It's obviously the wrong car for you. Nobody in the market for a 1.0tsi auto SUV should be expecting the performance the OP clearly is. Begs the question what are you comparing it to? I suspect you're comparing apples to pears. Whatever the pros and cons of a Kamiq 1.0tsi are, then unless there's something seriously wrong with his particular engine, none of the above applies.
  12. Yeah skomaz is spot on ,lime hawk moth 👍

Ok - I just did this job about 4 weeks ago. In my case, the electronic brake would apply itself when the engine was switched off and released itself when the car moved off in gear, all as normal. What did not work was the switch in the middle of the panel of 3 just aft of the gear selector (DSG). I also had the dashboard warning message and another one about the cruise control not being available. The handbrake switch cannot be replaced without the other 2 (Auto-hold and door locks?) - it is all one panel with the 3 switches. I was quoted £135 for the panel by a dealer, but I managed to find a second hand one on Ebay for £42, which worked fine. It's not at all difficult to swap, but getting the shiny black piece which surrounds the gear stick off is a bit tough. I started by pulling out the bank of switched and blanks on each side of the gear selector. These are removed by prizing them up from their forward edge (nearest the dash board) and are quite easy to remove. It is probably not essential to pull these out, but it gives you a view into the shiny black piece helps to see how it might come off. If memory serves, the gear stick surround is held on by 3 plastic prongs along each side and is just prized off with a bit of brute strength. I have a set of plastic trim removal tools which are less damaging to the car and I used these to get under the front and back edges to force the black panel up enough to get fingers in to pull it free. Once you've got that out the way the handbrake switch panel is easily accessed and has a single electrical plug to pull off. (there's a little hook/trigger thing to one side which needs to be pressed in to release the plug) Reassembly is very simple as the pieces all just snap back into place in seconds. Edited to add - the replacement switch solved all the problems and removed the error messages
  16. Got the 1941 installed by dealer. Two days no reboots 😛
  17. I can't find enough 🤨 🙄 🤬 emojis to show how much I feel your pain guys!!! I'm sure it's a case of Android Auto in the car isn't updated as frequently as on the mobiles, and there's some inherent incompatibility, so they stop talking to each other. If there's anyone connected to Skoda on this forum, please help......
  18. Had a 1.5 petrol 150bhp manual Karoq R-line for 5 months, took some getting used to, grip in the wet/snow awful but it went well, did 46mpg (urban mainly) .... Got to 10,000 miles and got told to swap cars, got a brand new Kamiq Monte Carlo 1ltr petrol DSG with 30 miles on the clock, god what a difference...not in a good way having to stick shift it to get it to pull from a standstill, then use "S" on auto.... and rag it to move well and avoid other cars the box is the worst ive come across, slow to kick down (when im in D), thought i was going to die joining a rounabout with cars to avoid... driver lane correction refuses to go away (or i get it off with warning lights) automatic central locking wont go away/cant delete it rear sensor only, no front sensors (is this a budget trim?) Getting 40mpg so whoever thought it may cost less to run should have his/her abacus taken off him/her/them..... it might win on a 200 mile motorway cruise but all my miles are on the urban school run banger race circuit
  19. Check behind the front wheel arch liners near the sills - it may have dropped/rolled down there.
  20. Breaking news: It's bloody working now!!! Tried both cameras again in the Citigo. Spare worked, original didn't so swapped the little clear cylindrical fuse in the end of the plug-in bit with a spare cable I had - and that worked as well! It does need the ignition switched on (just so the dash lights up) - which my Octy doesn't - but I definitely tried that before and it wouldn't play ball. Baffled, to say the least 🤔
  21. @lol-lolI loved my Toyota iQ and it was very much like automatic Mini,s i had just better and bigger. (Even more room for 3 in there than the modern MINI has.) The reason i got rid was just because of how people tailgated even though in corners they could not keep up with it. I never will understand why Toyota never did an EV version.
  22. Check with your Pioneer seller if AVH-Z9200DAB works properly with Sound System. If it is not supported then you either: - remove Blaupunkt amplifier from the system and install proper crossevers (3-way crossovers for front and 2-way crossovers for rear) - replace Pioneer unit with another type that supports Sound System, either aftermarket or Skoda MIB STD2 PQ (must be patched first) - return to Columbus and replace Bluetooth module with some that supports HFP (Hands Free Profile), A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile) and AVRCP (Audio Video Remote Control Profile).
  23. If the battery was fully charged, and down to 11.9v in morning then probably not the battery failing, but something draining it. Common ones are boot light switch bent or faulty so light stays on, interior light similarly staying on (try turning off manually at switch instead of doors setting, to check), something plugged in (usb or lighter socket, or socket in boot), a cable fault (broken insulation) causing something to turn on etc
  24. Yes will send this along for you

Checked recently, and sure enough I was knocking it with my knee - Making sure in future to take more care. Thanks everyone who replied 👍
  26. The high oil consumption is definitely not a myth. Mine got from 1L / 2000km to 1L/600km. Had the piston rings changed this February and it got waaaay better. Still uses some, but it might be due to the fact they're not yet seated. Added like 500ml / 4500km. The consumption and fans running, is due to DPF regen being always on. If you drive more than 90 min without shutting down the engine, the DPF light will come on your dash. The limp mode can also be caused by the clogged DPS. This also used to happen to me, under heavy acceleration. If you are lucky enough to have a 'good' DPF part number, you can only replace the filter part, and not the whole assembly, why is way cheaper (https://www.autodoc24.ro/as/18989355 something like this, it is basically clamped and can be removed. Mine is welded in and it cannot be changed like this).
  27. If you are fimilar with QNX and software reerse engineering then I believe you can do it.
  28. I might be wrong but I don’t think these cars have an alternator (unless they’re at the weird point with a Starter Generator + hybrid motor) The 12V battery is charged from a DC to DC convertor which steps down the 400V to 12V to keep the battery charged. This is only done whilst the car is turned on as the HV system is completely isolated when the car is turned off.
  29. Please don’t just go changing parts without a full diagnosis. The EGR valve isn’t a cheap part and most places will not diagnose any further and just throw a valve on it and hope for the best. A few things that I would be checking: MAF sensor is not faulty No air leaks on the intake or boost system DPF is not blocked up causing excessive back pressure EGR valve actuator is moving freely and actuated correctly Then lastly I would be checking the actual EGR valve for being stuck/broken
  30. Received the PM, thank you!
  31. We've had a few colourful sunsets recently......
  32. More fooling around with this axle. Wire brushed it and soaked it in rust remover gel, which didn't really work. In fairness its rougher than the axle i put in the monte. Used the dregs of a tin of silver hammerite to see what that'd look like. Looks ok, but I think hammered black will look better and won't be so obvious when rust starts popping through. Tried to use a tool from work to swap the bushes but didn't get a chance. So did it myself. Pain. Used a makeshift puller tool consisting of some nuts, a threaded bar, a pipe and a wheel bearing to try pull the bushes but it only removed the centre part. So did what I done last time and drilled the nylon part of the bush out to try get it to collapse. Took ages, made a mess. But eventually got there. New bushes I have are Lemforder ones with a 6R0 part number which matches the number on etka for the vrs. If I destroy these I'll get poly bushes again but I'd much rather these. Seemingly the standard bushes allow for a bit of (passive) rear steer. Although the part number matches on etka, these bushes don't have the black end caps the bushes in the vrs axle had. Etka had 2 bushes for it, the other being 1k0, which was greyed out indicating its not for the vrs. Stripped down and hanging up. Will order heatshields and replace them on the car so they aren't damaged. These ones aren't great.
  33. I would do the same if there was a rebuild kit with all the bearings and stuff like on the Mk2. But in my case there is no such kit for Mk3 and I had to wait for long time for some of the bearings to be shipped( not something I like in the summer months). The bearing they changed was available in the workshop. They said it’s also used on many diffs on BMWs and is prone to failure there as well.
  34. They call it tapered roller bearing, exactly the one shown in this video with P/N LM 503349/QCL7C: and in this post in a Russian forum as well: https://www.drive2.ru/l/620840890964932544/?page=0#comments There also other forums mentioning same bearing issues on VW Golf R and Audi A3. This fault isn’t rare..
  35. both are good makes how much is a genuine one
  36. Wow, what dammed good customer service, last night I emailed the dealer and asked about the missing engine undertray as they had done, prior to me purchasing the car, a cambelt change, water pump at the same time as Skoda recommend, a full engine service along with a DSG gearbox service and oil change, a new N/S headlamp replacement as the DRL had packed up (Xenon) and a new replacement N/S rear lamp unit, lens had been broken, new discs and pads all round. My thinking was that they had to remove the undertray in order to carry out the engine service etc and might simply have forgotten to replace it afterwards, so I asked them if it was laying around in their service bay someplace at all. This morning I received a nice email back saying that they had checked all of their records and discovered that they had received the car minus the tray when they purchased the car from Skoda fleet operations and as a gesture of goodwill, they were ordering one from an aftermarket supplier and having it delivered to me at home, a 145 miles away from them in Mansfield. What brilliant customer service and it is real treat it is to deal with a reputable dealer, especially after coming across their complete opposite in Heathrow, who even wanted me to buy a car with a huge crack in the windscreen and claim a replacement on my insurance, err, no way it was a MOT failure and a major safety hazard. So if anyone is looking for a decent 2nd hand Skoda, I can 100% recommend you check out the dealer where I got mine from, they buy lots of cars from Skoda leasing and always seem to have plenty of stock on hand, their details are: Radford Motor Sales Ltd, 337A Nottingham Road, Mansfield, NG18 4SG. Tel. 01623 652004 www.radfordsgarage.co.uk I'm glad I discovered them.
  37. I could not disagree more, our 1.0 115 BHP DSG is very nippy . The DSG box suits the engine and car perfectly. Happy to recommend

Ceramic spray applied following collection yesterday.
  39. Check the N80 valve on top of the engine. It will just take 5 minutes!
  40. My guess would be a launch towards the end of this year / beginning of 2024, with production ramping up over the next few months and first deliveries around June/July (current models will probably be stock-only from around the time of the launch, if not we’ll before due to the current long lead times). If you order now, you will order a current model. You won’t be able to place an order for a new model until the order books open after it is launched. It’s not like a model year change where you can end up with a slight variation in spec from what you ordered…
  41. We had a car show on the local park - no Skoda's in attendance, but lots of lovely examples nonetheless......... The De Tomaso was the star of the show for me 👍
  42. Uprated springs installed this morning. Towing next weekend so will find out if it's problem solved! I need not have worried about the looks, slightly higher but doesn't look like it's on stilts. Photo for comparison:

  44. Thanks bud, I think they do. They will be much better with some lows and a better offset! I still want one, I didn't really decide between Revo and Racing Line. Both sound competitive but I don't like the idea of basically flashing the map on, I'd prefer to get on a rolling road and at least see what it's producing. I'm not a numbers fan, certainly not going to be chasing them. Are you considering a remap or do you have one already?
  45. Here you go Gabrielem, Above is the Koni's fitted, no noticeable change in ride height, but big difference in ride quality. Standard Sportline springs still in use:
