    (0) Battery and alternator connections are secure, then (1) and (2) above.

I'd check two things straight away. 1) battery, which may be getting old and not holding charge and 2) your alternator and regulator as your power (lights) shouldn't be flickering.
  3. New Superb 2.0 TDI 147kW. Wheels are from.... Passat B6.

  5. Very bright Moon last night and Ford predictably full🌊
  6. Fire quickly extinguished…Suggests not an EV. Silver car park = way away, and not multi story. Edit: that first comment from a Graeme on the links comments section suggests a tin foil hat is required by the poster. EV are a conspiracy to reduce the population and let country x take over the world. The government are in cahoots and it is one big cover up conspiracy man!
  7. I will just put this here as always liked them and this is just so much more to like.
  8. 0480 is now 2 years old and still current.
  9. I mean, do you have a list of the fault codes? I don’t think your issue is with the dealer, if an independent can’t fault find with the fault codes as a starting point they either don’t have the equipment or the knowledge. Without knowing the fault codes we would only be guessing. Have the faults been cleared and rechecked after a drive cycle to see what is current? And as much as no one wants to fork out £4000, if the dealer has diagnosed a faulty gearbox then find out exactly what is wrong and the evidence they have. At least that way you are somewhat covered.
  10. Bone stock L&K with 41kkms on it.
  11. Hey. Have you gone through with the project?
  12. At a guess it's just the hot engine and exhaust parts cooling down.
  13. One thing we are missing from this thread is a full scan of the car. It feels like the mechanic is just replacing bits here...without doing a big picture review.
  14. His engineering is putting audi, seat, skoda and vw and the other non Chinese car makers out of business. Customer service is not what some have come to expect and the best service comes from ev specialist mechanics some who travel to one's home. Generally reliable cars with a fractional of the servicing of ice cars from what I gave heard from ev specialist servicing guys. Hope 2024 brings me a salary sacrifice model 3 or Y, not decided but nice not to have to pays the luxury road tax on the std range model 3 now after the recent price cut to below £40k rrp.
  15. I picked mine up today. car was charged by the dealer and showed 35 miles. My drive home was 26 and I drove on battery all the time. about 25% of the time I was in 20 mph zones last 4 miles I was able to do 50-70 and at the end of the the journey I had 2 miles left. i am keen to understand the peels and regen as I could get M showing but then it went back to D
  16. Honk & Flash is hidden in a different menu then the lock/unlock. You need to open "Navigate" -> "Parking Position".
  17. Many short trips with big intervals. Every time car heats itself up, that drains battery a lot. Just for curiosity you could try to fully charge and make a few longer trips to see what consumption would be. Preheating car via app or departure schedules would win some miles, too.
  18. I accidentally misled you - it's not about switching to eco mode (this Fabia doesn't have any driving modes) but about eco-driving itself, because that's when this condition becomes particularly noticeable.
  19. They certainly have an issue. The Regulators / Courts / Agencies in the USA and Canada will surely see that Tesla are doing the right thing. Well you might expect them to. The Drop Links are an issue with the Stellantis BEV,s. Not up to the job of the vehicles that were ICE models and then engineered to be EV,s. VW Group seem to have an issue with DQ381 DSG,s which has appeared quicker than the DQ200 issues appeared. Maybe a very big issue that VW Group need to address because it is costing those with vehicles out of warranty a lot of money to have repairs. PS Do you really think Tesla,s were not properly tested before production because Cold or Hot regions had no EV charging available?
  20. Obviously it's your decision but I wouldn't do anything with it at the moment, just get a mate to help you tow it away from the garage back to your place for now. The gearbox that's in it may be repairable if you talk to the guys on this forum nicely.
  21. Maybe charge to 99% again or even 100% and pre heat while plugged in and then set the Climate Control (No AC on) to 18*oC or even the 20*oC and try again just driving and see how far it will go on the battery. The stopping and then going again and getting the interior heated again is using up energy.
  22. Oh, thats a given, but the suspension breaking and control arms etc, don't expect that to happen with all the hard and extensive testing that they are supposed be given under the harshest of conditions, but I suppose we can cut them a little slack, as to test them in the same really tough conditions that they test ICE cars in would be a little difficult without the infrastructure / support items being in place. Trouble is though that the items that are snapping etc are major safety items and I suspect maybe they have tried to compensate for the extra weight of the batteries by trimming other items down in thickness etc to safe some weight so as not to impact on the acceleration so the can market the performance?
  23. Yes I had the same issue. It was the top corner of the windscreen. Used tec 7. Crude, but done the job.
  24. You can forget all about that right now, the cambelt would have to snap or strip teeth and that's completely unheard of! Stick it in gear with the handbrake off.
  25. I take it that yu have rear drums on this car? if so you need to do a bit of work on these, the drums have to be removed firstly check that the linings are dry if they look a dark colour you might have a slight leak in the wheel cylinders easy to check just lift the rubber at the edge of the cylinder and if you get a small amount of brake fluid out they need replacing always change both sides when you do, another favourite is the handbrake lever on the brake shoe not being free and sticks this entails taking te shoes off and checking the lever and how free it moves on the shoe, sometimes a tap on a hammer head with the lever fully out frees the lever but a small spot of copper grease on the rivet where the lever is attached can help it keep free, the last thing to check is the handbrake cable as sometimes these get sticky and cause this issue again you need to remove the shoes to check this, if it's not fee the best option is to replace the whole cable you might fee it up but it will come back and stick again it's a bit of a pain to change as you need to get right under the car to get the old one out mine took a good hard pull to remove it watch out for the rear clips that hold the cable to the control arm they can break and hard to get hold of new ones, pattern cbles are fine as genuine ones are expensive, brake shoe kits if you use bosch bonded ones they are much cheahe than the riveted shoes, have a look around some dealers do a brake shoe kit set with new cylinders shoes and springs at a discount price
  26. If your local garage says it's the DSG, and if the Skoda dealer said it's the DSG, then what makes you believe it's something else? You're right, it could be something else, but if all evidence points at it being the DSG why would you think differently? Doesn't the fact the car 'jolts' make that probability even stronger? If you don't trust your local Skoda dealer then have it checked by another Skoda dealer - or any VW / SEAT / AUDI dealer or a VAG specialist. And if it is the DSG at fault, then depending on that fault, it may be able to be repaired rather than spending £3-4K for it to be replaced altogether. ( Why have they quoted you £3-4K to fix if all they've done is run diagnostics? What fault was being reported? ). Depending on the fault, a DSG can be repaired rather than be replaced: There are others but to use but one example see https://www.autogearbox.co.uk/dsg-gearbox-repairs/ However wouldn't you agree it's pointless speculating until you know what the problem is?
  27. Following a news article on the BBC about Tesla's trying to deflect warranty claims, I wondered if there was any truth in the claim at all so while looking to conform or debunk it, I came across this and there are others by Reuters and the like, so it looks like they may well be some substance in the story? 28. There's a sticker on the inside of the filler cap with the tyre sizes and pressures but yes, 225/40 is the correct size for 18" Gemini wheels. And the answer to your next question is Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 😁
  29. As previously mentioned - each to their own 👍 This car was my first ever factory order, so opted to spend the cash saved on paint (I went for free solid blue) on Winter Pack+. Must admit we use the heated seats (front and rear) and steering wheel pretty much every day. The heated screen was excellent in the recent cold, so I can well understand the decision to retrofit 👍
  30. Guessing it was stainless and not quite standard. Either way, I wouldn’t scrap it, but I would look to repair it. We’ve had a 20 year old “banger” on the drive that cost £25 to service, one expensive MOT at £700, a full service with every filter, HT sparks the lot for £100 and most MOT costing zero with a couple of sub £200. So 7 years £1100 for MOT/fixes plus £300 in services, or £200 a year average. That’s very cheap in my books and far cheaper than a replacement car on finance. If you’re looking to EV and get get one cheaply sure, but I still would get a price to fix.
  31. Sounds like the DQ200 DSG has done quite well getting to 260,000 km / 161,500 miles. 16,000 miles a year and no servicing required is OK imo. It would very much depend on how used what anyone might expect as a standard mileage. ? What engine does your car have? ? What does the professional that is going to fit the new parts say about their experience after they do the job and take your money? I take it they will be changing both oils at the time since they have been there for 260,000 km.
  32. Changed my 5yo xenon bulbs with the same xenarc d3s. No particular complaint of the old ones just a mild purple hue when lit up during warm-up. Not sure if you can notice the difference. Left is new right is old. It does though make for a better visibility at night. At just 47euros a piece and 4y warranty I preferred them to the laser night breaker.
  33. To me that is a motoring journalist be it in print or film. Maybe he has a Press Pass for events. Ask him. Writer (with no script / videographer / broadcaster / publisher / presenter, editor, producer. Here he is anyway, just being a Vlogger / Youtuber and covering matters important to some. Including Disabled and charging EV,s.
  34. Hi, many thanks for the reply. I have ordered a new bulb holder and connector from Skoda. Pick them up on Saturday. I am not sure exactly what the connector will consist of but it seems to be a spare that is often supplied with the bulb holder. I will keep you posted.
  35. What degree is the timing in or out of phase by (you can check this using VCDS or ODBeleven)? If you idle the engine, does the VVT cam change at all? Issues with VVT are usually oil related (either loss of oil pressure, variable oil pressure or wrong grade of oil).

  37. All you need now is to swap the Citigo for an electric one and you'll have the full set!
  38. Says it all really. Happy Christmas to everyone. 👍🏻🎄
  39. Absolutely agree with your last sentence. 👍
  40. I don't think changing wheels and tyres are going to improve the innate handling characteristics.
  41. I'd pull off that trim and check. My money would be on a leaky windscreen.
  42. Hi all, I joined this forum last week after buying a 2016 Superb and have already benefitted greatly. Having read some of the great topics here I chose to buy an OBDEleven Diagnostic tool to ensure that all was as it should be. I had already noticed that the DAB readio was very intermittent and looked here for solutions/reasons for the issue. Having set up the OBDEleven, I ran a diagnostic and it came up with a fault with the DAB antenna earth connection/short. Magic, all I needed to pop my car back to the dealer for a fix. So, in short, thank you all for the info/answers suggestions and recommendations offered on the forums, you have already helped me immensely. Best Regards, Mark.

  44. I am still trying to compute how you get parts from a car that is 50,000 euro more than the Octavia for only 3,500 euro.
