Front seat height
2 pointsI put a deposit down on a 2015 Golf SV 1.4 TSI SE DSG today, it's got a super smooth gearbox (no judder on takeup or gear change), SWMBO is happy with it, so that's most of the battle. Thank you for the heads up. We did look at a Yeti with 65k, but it was rusty and way overpriced for the condition.2 points

DQ200 - Risky or not?
2 pointsMy track record 2011 Golf 1.6TDi - OK 2011 Fabia 1.2TSi - Clutch pack replaced due to judder. 2014 Octavia 1.6TDi - Clutch pack, mechatronic and lever replaced. 2016 Yeti 1.2TSi - Clutch pack replaced due to slipping 2016 Yeti 1.2TSi - Clutch slipping when returned to lease company 2017 Fabia 1.0TSi - Faultless from new. 2023 Karoq 1.5TSi - OK so far and by far the smoothest operating DQ200 we've had. As years have gone by the improvement on the DQ200 has been very noticeable. We've also had several DQ250's on 2.0TDi's Passat, Octavia, Yeti. All faultless. And a DL501 Audi 7 speed wetclutch faultless. Avoiding the DQ381 for now.2 points

DQ200 - Risky or not?
2 pointsThe DQ200 in our 2015 Polo GTI, which we've owned since 2017, has now covered 53k miles and been faultless throughout 👍 Gaz2 points

2017 yeti door locking
2 points"Had it to a auto electrian when it first started with just the front passenger door not opening he fitted a new actuator which worked for 2 days then went again , he got in touch with VW who say it could be the module ?" What would we do without Briskoda and its members?2 points

What have you done to your Superb III today?
Not necessarily facelift, as the pre-facelift MY18 & MY19 models came with the MIB2.5 9.2" Columbus. Hence I'm looking for the trim from those models. Pre-facelift MY15 to MY17 came with MIB2 8" Columbus. It's not noticeable from inside the car, hence there is no urgency.2 points

1 pointNever suggested there was a need? To be fair it was meant to be a replay to J.R rather than being directly related to your issue. As i'm sure you are aware the car doesn't actually calcluate fuel consumption, it is a theoretical value, so the fact you are not going as far with the same fuel consumption means you are either missing some fuel or the car isn't correctly calculating the MPG and it sounds like you are going to start manually checking this so you should have your answer soon. Have you checked your oil level recently to make sure its not getting dumped in there? I doubt it mind as you seem to be missing more than what would fit in your sump.1 point- Diesel consumption increased
1 pointNo need to empty the tank to measure fuelconsumption... You need amount of fuel used and what range has been driven.1 point- Octavia mk3 vrs indicator brightness
If a dimmwert value is 0 then that section of the leuchte is inactive since 0 means off, so don't mess with any 0 values! Typically 100 is max brightness with halogen bulbs but for a reason I don't understand 127 is sometimes used with LED bulbs. Look at it this way, the dimmwert vale specifies the duty cycle of a PWM signal, with 127 being the base value so 127 as a dimmwert value means 100% duty cycle, 64 means 50% duty cycle - you get the jist.1 point- Tips on how to make my Pre-Facelift Mk3 Octavia look better?
Some suggestions. 1) Suggest cleaning up the headlights with headlight restoration preparation. 2) Do full LED upgrades on headlights, indicators, tail light bulbs (in most cases will require some minor coding tweaks) 3) Get a set of dynamic (Audi style) mirror repeaters to replace existing repeaters. 4) Depending on hardware installed in your car, you can enable up a whole load of extra functionality in your car.1 point- DQ200 - Risky or not?
1 pointOn the other hand, I read most of the doom on here and still bought a 1.5tsi act Superb with a dq200 gearbox. Mine is only 2 years old admittedly but I saw several with well over 100k miles during my search. Hundreds of thousands if not millions of vag group cars worldwide are fitted with them.1 point- DQ200 - Risky or not?
1 pointLuck of the draw. As much trouble as the DQ200,s had 2009-2012, then 2013-2015, 2015-2018 that is nothing compared to the DQ381,s are having since introduced. I would not have a 1.6 TDI CR with a DQ200. I would have a 1.0 or 1.2 TSI with one, or a 1.4 TSI non ACT. Not a 1.5TSI ACT. The 2.0 TDI 115 ps,s with a DQ200 DSG seems to be getting on OK. PS. 2013-2015 there are some DQ200,s that required Service Campaign '34H5' a software update, you want to check if it was part of that Service Campaign / Recall actions that it was done,.1 point- 2017 yeti door locking

1 point- Diesel consumption increased
1 pointThe tank size on a non-AWD Octavia is a nominal 50 litres, and that will be the minimum amount it holds. If the 50 mpg displayed is reasonably accurate then 500 miles would use about 45 litres of fuel. So as others have previously stated it really comes down to how much fuel you are putting in the tank (and distance covered) to work out whether your perception of reduced range is real or just as a result of change in the accuracy of the fuel gauge and it's now prompting you to refuel a little prematurely.1 point- Does the 1.5 TSI Have Rear Disc Brakes?
The 'pins' I bought via AliExpress are non-magnetic (so presumably not steel) but that's also the case for the tpi-branded pin I provided a photo of in my 1 July posting on Page 4 of this form thread and that cost (from a UK supplier) around £9 for a single pin. The AliExpress pins weigh 67g - much heavier than the tpi-branded pin - and are nicely made (and I'm notoriously fussy). Presumably the tpi-branded and AliExpress pins are castings and, if one wanted a last-forever use-many-time-a-day stainless-steel pin, it would need to be machined and attract a suitably elevated price. The £1.41 overall price was an introductory 'special first AliExpess purchase" offer and (as highlighted above) exactly the same item can be advertised on AliExpress much more expensively. Deleting cookies and/or using a different device can side-step this special-offer limitation. I am near certain that, if I screwed the alloy tpi-branded pin or the alloy AliExpress pin into my Skoda car's hub and than violently hit the end of the pin downwards with a heavy hammer, the pin would snap, whereas a steel pin would just bend - but I'm never going to be hammering my pins. I'm averse to buying 'foreign country' online, but I was prepared to do that in this instance as an experiment and - once I had successfully placed the order - the delivery process was seamless and I was kept fully in the loop. That I shall buy through AliExpress again seems unlikely. (I recently replaced my 2009 Roomster's H7 halogen bulbs with LED equivalents that I bought from a UK-based supplier at an overall cost of £42. The LED bulbs (unsurprisingly) are made in China, but I'd be unprepared to order LED bulbs via AliExpress as their quality and longevity would be much more of an unknown factor.)1 point- Battery question
1 pointI do have a nextbase 422gw dashcam hard wired in the car (can't remember which fuse it was piggy backed to) will have to check if it was permanent live or ignition live. After a 5 mile drive from home to work the charge on the battery had gone from 11.4v to 12.4v so hopefully it'll be a simple case of moving the dashcam power feed to a fuse that is definitely ignition only once one has been found with a multimeter1 point- I need Bolero Update :-)

The exact point I made at the start of the thread (albeit related to ID cars). In this case AC refers to AC current (on-board charger) rather than air conditioning which is the normal use of "AC" with respect to cars. I hope this fixes things permanently for you both.1 point- Skoda Felicia Headlight Adjustment
Cheap LEDs will never have good pattern. The reflector is designed for filament as the light source, si that's where's its focal point (line?) Anything outside this area will mess up the beam pattern. And cheap LED bulbs just use generic LED chips that somewhat reach desired light output, but that requires much larger area. That's what's different in "legal" LED replacements, they use specific technology that's able to get closer to halogen filament shape and light output (part of the reason why they are so expensive, besides brand). However, not the same, which is why they still need to be certified for each vehicle individually. Btw, Osram recently released gen2 of their H7 LEDs, which has wider range of certified cars, maybe they'll have new version of H4 aswell.1 point- Octavia mk3 change rear brakes - Do I need new bolts?

1 pointThe lock in the trunk's button is always vertical and not horizontal in purspose. I lock the car via alarm's remote control, 4 doors hood trunk are locked, if you push the trunk's button nothing will happen. If someone manage to open any of these plus the tailgate (aka 5th door here in GR) the alarm sounds. If i lock the car via key and the lock is vertical then the tailgate can not be open, if i turn the key and let it horizontal then any one can push the button and open the tailgate. Many times in the car wash i forgot the lock vertical and as the Pakistanian employee has opened all the doors he tries desperately to open the tailgate but no matter how he pushes the button nothing happens, then i point to him the lever to pull it. I don't know those aftermarket folder keys are durable as the stock? I there any possibility to crack after few months of use?1 point- Enyaq preventing charging and resetting charge level
So, took the car into the dealer today and now starting the process of monitoring how their software tweaks address the issues described in earlier posts. One thing is clear: the general software downloading process effectively eliminates many previous settings and effectively restores "factory settings" which in themselves can cause significant changes to performance including the charging process. I had mistakenly assumed that existing settings would be "ring-fenced" but in practice it is wise to make a note of all settings before any download so that they can then be put back to their settings pre-software download (hope this makes sense !). I would also comment that my car being a 2021 early version Enyaq has been problematic from Day 1 due to the fact that the dealership where I bought and collected the car had little or no experience with the model and the software and so just left it to the buyer to muddle through. Anyway, I will give it a week or so and get back to report whether the issues have been resolved. Bye for now.1 point- [Question] - Felicia 1.3 MPi Alex HVAC unit

Those with a MIB2 unit, aka Columbus (Harman version) with 8" screen can do the upgrade. i.e. MY15 to MY17. No need to change the glovebox head unit. Just the screen. I sourced a secondhand 9.2" Screen from a MY18 Superb being wrecked. Got the G11 to G13 firmware conversion from mibsolution. Then once done, reinstalled the latest maps. I'll need getting used to where the things r cause there r no more physical buttons. Will do a how-to-guide soon. The trim piece is not flush behind the top of the screen though, but u don't notice it unless u look through the windscreen. Will need to sort this trim piece at some point in the future.1 point- Octavia Estate Tonneau Cover/Parcel Shelf
Glad your issue got solved. On a local "ebay" I sell this part for just 10$. Worth to mention it is PETG filament (nylon is way stronger) and FDM (layers are visible) printed, not SLA like you've got. Anyway it does its job For anyone who has the same issue and owns a 3D printer (or has a someone who can make a print), here is a model link1 point- Octavia Estate Tonneau Cover/Parcel Shelf
I got my 3D printed part back from that company in Combermere, near Whitchurch, UK. It's an excellent facsimile - and feels every bit as robust as the original corresponding Skoda part. Here are some photos of both parts side by side. The 3D Printed one is the one in each case with the slightly grainy texture to it, but obviously this doesn't affect it's function. Actually, putting them both back into my tonneau cover, the new 3D printed one seems to be a better/ more secure fit. The original is a bit loose. They said they would put the item up on their Sketchfab page so that people can place the specific order directly for this part. But until they send me the link for that, here's the link to their homepage. They charged me £39 all in (including VAT and P+P) which seems very reasonable, considering I was looking at entire replacement tonneau covers starting at £80 from eBay for beaten-up breaker's yard offerings.1 point- Octavia mk1 VRs @project175kplus

1 point- VRS Estate MPG/Fuel Economy
1 pointThat is a surprising level of error for the fuel computer - my indicated use when compared against actual calculated use is usually around 2 to 3 MPG lower (computer reads optimistic)1 point- Spare Wheel/Tyre
1 pointThe space saver wheel is an 18 inch one and the tyre profile it's fitted with makes it compatible with the 16 inch wheels fitted to your car. Space savers don't need to exactly match the diameter of the wheels fitted by law but they should be close. I've been looking into this and have just ordered the spare wheel kit and wheel from my local dealer for £256 which includes everything you need. You can find the exact details of the recommended spare on the inside of the fuel flap where the tyre pressures are. Be warned, there are loads of secondhand 16 inch space saver wheels/kits out there quite cheaply but the profile of the tyres fitted will mean that they could be several inches smaller than the 16 inch full sized ones fitted to the car. They MAY get you out of trouble but the MAY also foul the brake calipers or cause other issues if the car thinks there are significant differences in wheel rotation once fitted. Personally I found that by the time I'd managed to find the correct 18 inch spare wheel/tyre, bought the screw to fix it in, as well as the tools and foam surround, I was better off just buying the correct thing from Skoda and have done.1 point- DieselMontes BarnFind Subaru Justy
