  6. That is the world we live in. Wars and religion & supposedly leaders with religion and killing and starving of the many & the theft of countries natural resources. Then there is communism & communist states. None are any better than the other. So fight for land and oil & gas or land and rare earths and minerals. If none of that happened there would be no need for fighters and bombers and war planes or armed drones & nothing for people to go watch at airshows.
  7. Thank you. I will definitely continue to monitor it My car was first registered August 2020, I am going to get the battery inspected today , thank you
  8. @mccririck Is that what the dealer principle says personally to you. I would ask them to put that in writing. Which Dealership or Group is that? I am pretty sure that Mathew Bowden of Skoda UK & Damien O'Sullivan of VW UK will be more than delighted to hear about the After Sales Service from That Dealership. Well actually, surely they already know exactly how bad things are with the Products they are responsible for the sales of.
  9. Of course... it's company called Friedrich Motorsport. It took about 8 weeks as it was in February 2021 during lockdown. Really happy with it

Hi all, I've just recently brought a 2011 skoda fabia vrs with the Cave engine and have only had the car for roughly 6 weeks and have used nearly 2 litres of oil since picking it up I know that these engines use a lot of oil but at what point is it concerning that it's using too much oil

Can you tell us who your broker is then?
  15. Id go for the 1.0, I work in a garage and it's a lot easier to get good economy. The 1.5 takes around 15-20 minutes before you start to see any decent mpg. I also own a 1.5 too. If the engine is warm the 1.5 is fine but if you don't need the extra power 1.0 is also fine 🤣 the 1.5 is also very nippy tbh, feels better than my 1.5 up to motorway speeds.
  16. This just stops the stop/start working. The smart charging part is still operating as normal. Which one runs on 5V? Thanks. AG Falco
  17. If the air flow sensor looks new it may have been replaced just before you got the car. Its a long shot but wondering if its the correct one thats fitted or why it was replaced. Might be worth checking wiring continuity as well. Alasdair
  18. The holes are indeed drain holes, you'll need them. Due to the windscreen being a gasket type, water does get behind it and will come into the cab if it doesn't have anywhere to drain. It's a common Felicia problem, originally the holes were quite small, I had the ones on my car enlarged a bit last time I had the seal replaced and it seemed to help. So if you do weld a plate over them, I recommend that you re-drill a hole in the plate. I think mine were increased to 8mm from 5 or 6 originally.
  19. Thanks mate. Yeah all servicing is up to date but will be going for a major service in August. I think it doesn't help that I've had to do lots of short journeys lately
  20. I changed mine last month £18 for a new tank and 15 mins of my time all done
  21. Haha @Warrior193 the photo is from Google! I did say that at the bottom, but it was maybe cut off, apologies. If mine was that bad I think the silica bag would be the least of my worries. I was just curious as the car is going for some work soon, and getting it changed then (if needed) would kill two birds with one stone. That could never be my engine bay! Whenever I wash the car, I always get a damp cloth and just go over the whole bay. I don't give a damn what it looks like, but having a clean engine helps me see if there are ever any leaks/split hoses/issues.
  22. If the EV pictured is the one off your vehicle, it was originally fitted with the Silicate 'teabag' - it is possible that it was previously removed if you aren't original owner. I have not seen any other 'mit silicate' tag apart from the one shown on the EV. If that is your EV, strongly recommend replacement.

I cleaned and polished mine but i used a tub of mothers metal polish ,same as solvo autosol basicly ,i didnt use steel wool i thought it may scratch them too much with them just being cosmetic ,came up like new tho 👍
  24. Rear view mirror, with the rain sensor. My guess is the whole unit, with trim, which won't be cheap wherever you get it from (unless a breaker?)
  25. When the w5w bulb in rear plate is replaced with a led bulb (even if it's canbus error free) an error is displayed in the Infotainment. It's possible to use VCDS for using led bulbs: -> Controller 09 - Central Electronics -> 16 - Security Access - enter 31347 -> 10 - Adaptations Change the 2 channels listed below (1)-Leuchte25KZL HA59-Lasttyp 25 - set to: 43 - allgemeine LED (6) Leuchte25KZL HA59 - Dimmwert AB 25 - set to 127 Here you can see the difference between Led (left) and halogen Philips Blue Vision (right):
  26. I got the battery checked at 69% health, it hasn't come back since but as soon as I finished work and was on the way home, I turned the ac on full and that's when it happened..I might just chalk it down to electrical gremlins and keep an eye on it
  27. Some wiring diagrams here: Skoda Kamiq Workshop manuals. Wiring diagram. DTC - Workshop Let us know if the wiring is present? NOTE: as well as the boot light somewhere there will be a tilt switch needed to tell the light the boot is open.
  28. What discovered with this "size" of VW Group car - in my case, a 2015 VW Polo 1.2TSI 110PS 6MT, is, if the car makes the odd or even frequent suspension noises, for a longish period in time, after I've had it up in the air on 4 jack stands, just for brake servicing and/or swopping Summer/Winter wheels/tyres, the suspension becomes free from any noises. Top mountings, hum, in this age/version of car, the top mounts are just located/sitting in, an inverted cup and have a large washer, ie retainer under the top nut - to avoid these top mountings from escaping if you ended up doing something completely crazy when driving that car. Earlier and later versions have the top mountings bolted onto a flat area of the body. I've tended to consider that it might be a smart idea to remove the top nut on both sides, then lift the car up enough to create a space between the top mounting rubbers, and then get some talc powder in there to act as a lubricant, then lower the car down, fit the large washer/retainer plates back on and new self locking nuts - and see if that quietens the front end down. Note:- I replaced the front struts, springs, bearings and top mountings on my wife's 2015 Polo last year, and this winter it does, for the first few speed bumps when cold, make these noises, the new top mountings were sourced from VW and they didn't look like there was any "treatment" applied to the outer surfaces that contact these inverted cups, and there is no instruction to apply anything like talc powder to them before fitting them - but there again, why or what made VW Group dump this form of top mounting when they replaced this version of these cars- maybe having to deal with too many complaints/rework while under warranty.
  29. MYGUY really is so worried for the West's National Security and not those in the East. He is in the East. Odd that he has no concerns for people in China from ELON MUSK / Donald Trump. Mobile phone / internet devices even when the user turns them off can be tracked by smart people. Israel more of a worry than China maybe. Risky for some to charge an EV and use the Israel based / owned company processing payments & knowing your location. Taken out by a drone, or maybe a drive bye bye shooting @ a Trump Turnberry Golf Course etc. VW,s & TESLA are a security risk as far as tracking etc. ICE VW,s not just BEV,s / Electrified ones. Then as far as a transportable bomb, cam BEV,s not be set up to go into Thermal Runaway remotely? Even moved remotely to cause the most damage.
  30. that's a bit like saying "the world's obesity problem needs to be solved but if I choose to eat better and take more exercise will it really make that much difference?". If we all say what's the point then nothing will change
  31. that's expensive. I find plugging in the Enyaq means I get off peak power straight away. Last night I plugged in and got off peak through to 7am today. That means my central heating is cheaper to run as is the washing machine, tumble drier etc
  32. I have a DTUK Pro version fitted to mine for quite a few years now. No issues and to be honest, I constantly forget I have one until a thread here reminds me about it.
  33. Just want to add to this great suggestion; A good long drive with the start/stop disable button illuminated orange. When the disable button is actived it overrides any and all "smart" systems controlling battery levels and will just, simply charge. Up until last year I had the same battery from factory in, which started to fail. It started setting off my car alarm in the dead of the night, yet the car would start fine. The battery can indeed do mysterious things..
  34. Not usually dodgy battery but one that has been perhaps over used, abused or neglected. Doesn't take very long or much effort to check the state of charge of the battery and whilst doing that check the battery post terminal and terminal post clamps are clean and tight, check main earths and connections are also clean and tight. If battery needs charging then a good long drive without using much electrics or better still a full, long, low, recharge using an appropriate battery charger maintainer following the instructions in the car's 'Owner's manual' and instructions for charger maintainer. VWŠkoda website for "virtual"(?) 'Owner's manual'. - https://www.skoda-auto.com/apps/manuals/Models You are dealing with German (over?) complex and (over?) intwined computer systems and programs on the car that will have errors and omissions, "glitches" and updates in the programming and computers can have brain-farts as we know. If your car is a late 2020 perhaps Covid and chip shortages might also apply< i forget dates and details now. The computer system run on 5v which is thin so if battery is low, but headlights can still seem bright enough and engine starts, the computers can throw up all sorts of warnings, lights, (error codes) and issues, loads and loads of threads and posts on this problem on this site. If you are lucky this could just be a one-off computer brain-fart and perhaps having switched the ignition "off 'n' on agen" cleared it, fills one with joy, if not over-confident about computer system perhaps.
  35. Thank you 👍🏼 it's a cat back system i had made in Germany and I got to pick style of tailpipes...
  36. I once had a start/stop error happen because of a dodgy LED brake light I had fitted. Anything can cause the BCM to have a meltdown. If you had the EPC light on, you MUST have had a fault code stored. You say your friend "cleared it", well, they cleared the stored code which causes the EPC light to turn on.. You are best monitoring it, if the light comes back then scan every module in the vehicle and pop back with all the codes, regardless of how small they may be. If not, consider it a momentary blip..
  37. Agreed....the 19" Phoenix/Trinity wheels r beautiful and suits the Superb really well. I do miss having them on my car.
  38. Absolutely sick of this car now and certainly wouldn't buy a Skoda after this. Dealer says because there's no error code getting thrown up Skoda doesn't want to know. ****ing ****e.
  39. Updates on these units need to be performed with an SD card
  40. From last night's walk - feeding the family!
  41. Absolutely love those exhausts.
  42. Okay, yes. Acknowledge the low battery in keyfob. You have two bigger issues: Firstly, the gear selector sensor is faulty. Common problem on VAG cars. Quite an easy fix but you need a new gear selector sensor or you need to get the sensor cleaned and checked. The other error is in relation to the camera on the front of the car. It needs setting up. Suspect you may have had a new windscreen recently and not had the windscreen alignment done??
  43. Ah yesterday's post. @MartiniB saw that one. I'm about to put the SD in the car for all of Europe to test it out.
  44. I've got the electric seats on my Elroq. We also have a yeti. Love the yeti ... seat height very comfortable in front and back. I've had Nissan Leaf before - the batteries on that mean the floor pan is so high, its impossible to sit comfortably in the back. Tried a Volvo C30 & my daughter said the same problem. In the Elroq, I've not noticed an issue with seat height - I have the driver seat quite high - no issues with getting knees in - the seat moves back automatically - comfort access I think it's called. Rear seats - daughter very happy. Very good legroom and floorpan not noticably in the way. Whilst it's not replacing our Yeti, the Elroq will be the car we take on long journeys now. Very comfy.
  45. YES here>>>>> https://vwts.ru/
  46. Somebody at your skoda dealer is gaslighting you. First things first, have a look at the DSG gear selector sensor. This is a well known problem; a quick google will show you that sensors can get dirty as well as fail. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T28cSO8IoN8 shows you that it is a relatively easy fix. The replacement sensors are cheap (less than £100). I suspect that once youve replace the sensor, your issue will go away. The mechatronics unit will need investigation if that doesn't fix it. We also need a proper scan via VCDS/ODBEleven. I suggest you find a good local VAG specialist in your area.
  47. Assuming the vari-flex seats in Karoqs are similar to those in Roomsters and Yetis, they will not release unless the seats are in the fully rearward position. On one of my Roomsters, I had to sit in the seat and shuffle it hard back in order to get it to go fully rearward.
  48. So a very late update on this one, but did finally manage to get this resolved and thought I would update in case people have similar issues. I ended up having to go to a couple of dealerships to get to the bottom of this, since the diagnostics checked out and the sensor was seemingly fine. Turns out that unfortunately the body control module had failed, so needed a replacement for a rather lot more than I was hoping for (around £650 in the end).
