  1. Ah man, I love when my new content feed is a couple of members arguing about not a whole lot… Deep breaths boys and chill out.
  2. I had 2 Yetis. Wanted red but wasn't allowed as the missus said it would look like Postman Pats van. After that, I was allowed a Velvet Red Karoq, and since then, I've had a red Octy Scout, a red Volvo XC40 and now I've got a Velvet Red Elroq 85 Edition. I like red 🤣🤣🤣
  3. Hi, thanks for letting me join. Just switched up from a 2019 5 series estate to 2024 Superb estate. Definitely a different drive altogether and lots of infotainment stuff to learn my way through. Looking forward to shortcutting the manual via these pages. Happy driving folks, btw, still cant find my comfy seating position after 3 weeks lol
  4. Just to update, it was the ambient lightening connector. Fixed back on and changed the broken clips. All working and no rattles.
  5. Evening, Welcome to the forum! You’ll find the “just right” spot for the seat eventually. It took me 6months to find it in my replacement work van 🤣 then someone else borrowed it, and stuffed me for another 2 months 🤦🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️
  6. @NZedder We really need a scan via VCDS or ODBEleven to make sense of the issue. EPC light covers a multitude of sins.
  7. Just placed my order for my new Elroq; Edition 85 with a few extras - garage advised 17-19 weeks, so hopefully here for the New Year!
  8. Turns out the Superb mk3, Passat B8 and Arteon 3H7 all share the same LCA.
  9. Xpeng EV extends 24 hour distance record to almost 4000km / 2500 miles. Helped by Charging at 500 to 400 kWs and cruising at something like 120 mph when running. Be interesting to see a split between running time and charging time. Trying to find an ICE 24 hour distance record but no luck so far.
  10. +1 sub-frame is same same. lower control arms (LCA) for the Golf is short, i.e. not wide enough, for the Superb. i don't know if the Arteon, or even Passat B8, have the same LCA as the Superb, or use the Golf version.
  11. We have come to the decision to sell the Swift and keep the Skoda. Spent all day, cleaning/polishing and generally checking as much as I can. Found another invoice dated August 2023 for a full service/new front and rear pads/discs at 16000miles, its only covered 1000 miles in the last two years- Dad decided to stop driving at 89. When I collected the car and drove home 150 miles mostly motorway it performed beautifully, certainly a more relaxed drive than the Swift. The only fault I can find is the DAB radio doesn't pick up any stations-FM ok. So I will have the an oil and filter change, Mot, replace original tyres and renew brake fluid. Keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best.
  12. That looks like the ambient lighting connector.
  13. Good morning. Has anyone by any chance already completed this conversion? The starting point, however, is that the LOW version is installed in the tailgate, so there's no taillight, etc.
  14. Thanks all. Yes - fault indications appeared immediately after starting the engine. Will see if I can get it scanned.
  15. I went for Hyper Green, agree with your comments . It can look really nice but also the washed out yellow on certain screens. I've had a lot of black, silver, grey, white etc with our Tesla being red (nice shade of red actually) . Decided to go with something a bit crazy, I'm either going to love it or absolutely hate it 😬
  16. My 2018 superb estate has developed exactly the same fault on the OSR door, so I will be following all these steps to rectify it. Not been here long but so far, this forum has proved invaluable.
  17. yes i do know better than you which is why you are upset and crying over it.
  18. I've gone for boring black again. I wanted the Hyper Green until my son said you'll look like a boy racer. Velvet red was my 2nd choice but the wife didn't like and son pipped up again that's just a failed Ferrari🤣 Fingers crossed your build starts ASAP. What colour did you select?
  19. It's nice if you say no basic is needed. That helps vehicles where the wires have been repaired, but not if the tailgate no longer opens and closes automatically and the control unit reports the error message "no basic setting." But apparently you know better. With that in mind, I wish you a nice evening.
  20. what don't you understand about it?
  21. At my last customer, yellow and blue were broken, it was no longer possible without basic adjustment
  22. This works on our Karoq, maybe yours too. Also you can try holding down the boot unlock button on the remote control for at least ten seconds to do a reset.
  23. Awesome, sounds similar to mine apart from the mud flaps . What colour did you go for? Mine was ordered on the 20th June, build apparently happening this week . Dealer told me to expect 4-5 weeks to mid - end of Sep for delivery, depending on the boats
  24. A hot air gun, patience and a probe of some sort will do it.
  25. Culzean Castle South Ayrshire, near Turnberry, Maidens, Maybole and Ayr. If you are near this area I would visit KC3,s wee abode Dumfries House. 365 days a year free entry to grounds. About 25 miles away from Culzean.
  26. From what I understand the main reason the TDI's get massively caked is due to the EGR valve facing backwards towards the Throttle Body. Not too sure about Petrol ones other than the fact they burn cleaner?
  27. Have a look at the 'Owner's manual' for programming and DAB to FM switching if required, otherwise put up a photo (landscape not portrait please) in a new thread and we can perhaps see what's what The older infotainment systems seem better and more reliable than later ones. This year I moved the MoT on my wife's Fabia from end of September to mid-July meaning I can get the next MoT from mid-June to mid-July when the days are longer so more convenient to work on the car and away from the September bi-annual changing car madness, panic and lack of appointments. The car's benefit from occasional Italian tune-up (blow-out) good long runs (doesn't have to be motorway, sustained sensible higher revs rather than higher speeds) particular if they usually only get short journeys regularly, will help charge the battery a bit more too. Running the tyres at 30psi rather than "Eco" 35psi makes a difference to comfort and handling (well as much as it has).
  28. Great Minds @ John, I was literally doing the same thing earlier!
  29. Different car to a Fabia and without the benefit(?) of all the computer control (or even single or multiple let alone TSI) but with my old car I always found BP Ultimate to be noisy and old Esso 0% to be smoothest. I forgot Sainsburys as I never go there but my wife has used their 97 in the Fabia particularly if the price is good. @Ootohere you are regularly up to date with petrols why not update the list and add Sainsburys.
  30. I think this is about as good as it gets. It's the first year that I've been offered a discount on it at my renewal time. If memory serves, there was a deal around Christmas time too, but I can't remember what the discount rate was. I couldn't take advantage because you can only 'top up' your subscription within a set number of months ahead of the renewal date. With regards to High beam assist and traffic sign recognition - I believe they are one-off purchases, and not subscription based.
  31. Dont forget the Basic Setting
  32. Ordered the VRS 14th Jun 25 with Maxx Pack Winter Heat pump Mudflaps Build started 7th Aug Left the factory 11th Aug Now time is going very slowly😂 The app originally told me delivery would be 30th Oct to 12th Nov but that has now disappeared and no new date given. I'm hoping it will be Sept🤞🙏
  33. We were glad to get rid of the Clio hybrid. Over complicated, fuel consumption not great. Relatively heavy, smaller boot due to the intrusion of the hybrid system. It was pleasant to drive. The oomph often EV sub system made for nice low down power/ torque getting off the line. Proved to us that hybrid was an unnecessary distraction. Mini Cooper E is so much more fun, bit pricier but much lower running costs, insurance, servicing. Dodos.
  34. I let mine lapse - the remote access for driving data was useful but not essential after the novelty wore off, and the "lock" status gave me a false negative, so I figured that wasn't worth having.
  35. I ran mine for a while as it only went to floor randomly until one day went to floor and stayed there. Luckily at time knew a recovery friend who took us home. I was lucky as it failed when I was dropping my son to school and was in a bus stop. Could have gone I suppose at any time. I would get it looked at sooner than later. Keep an eye on the brake/clutch fluid. Think I got a sachs master cylinder through amazon for about £40 Alasdair
  36. Fabia in garage for MOT this morning and spoke to mechanic about said problem. Apparently this can be a problem for Skoda and v.w and will only get worse. The problem seems to be master/slave cylinder and will need replacing so sorting that out next. The only temporary fix is when the clutch pedal stays on the floor is too flick it up with your foot and proceed as normal. Probably no good if you're wearing steel toe cap boots!
  37. We have strive for sustainable future. That means to stop burning stuff, which requires moving away from ICE vehicle ASAP. BEV is currently the best option. There are no better alternative. May I refer you to this thread for discussion on whether it is right for government to push for net zero.
  38. Kia Ora, did these anomalous gauge readings and fault indications appear immediately the engine was started? If so, probably a sensor or electrical issue - see if you can get a mobile mechanic to come out to read any DTCs logged.
  39. The stat reported by QBE (from the screenshot) is rather small, difficult to make out a trend. But still interesting that 232 EV fires in 2024 vs 131 in 2022, less than double fire incidents despite number of EV's more than doubled. From the way it talks about EV numbers. I don't feel it includes those lower quality and thus higher risk e-scooter or ebikes. Less reporting can be viewed in 2 different ways. I would see it as becoming normal, nothing is ever 100% safe, but as EV themselves becoming normal, unexpected events associated with them are less attention grabbing. Of course, there's always the conspiracy view: something something about narrative.
  40. Thanks for all that. The belt was changed as I thought it had to be a certain intervals and my last car was 5 years. Anyway another mechanic said it didn't need to be that frequently anymore, but what's done is done...I won't need to do it again as I'm getting a new one in 4 years. I'll carry on with the V power and take it from there!
  41. I only use e10 (Melbourne), have done for years. And I have lots of Skoda driving friends who only use 91 and have never even thought about RONs. No issues at all. Have tried 95 for a 6 months to see if there was any change in efficiency - there was not.
  42. Tw,at in BMW just parked in bay for 1 hour or more because there before me. Not charging. Place mobbed but there is car parking places still. EDIT, I am charged and the BMW still blocking the bay. PPS. The lady and family returned to the BMW, she could not get it to start, and CPS said they could not communicate with it so she left the car. The other chargers at the Post Office car park were also out of order. This Can not communicate with charger for remote start is the usual nonsense from them. The mobile receptions are rubbish. One card might not activate the charger and another will, and they start the charger for me often enough, but obviously the SIM needs a reception, one minute there might be the next there is not. Then a white Audi arrived and he could not start the CCS and was giving up and i showed him how to start that. Not locking all doors and windows as CPS tell you when you phone. Just allowing the charger time between tapng card, authorisation, chose which charger, it failing and trying again. Robert the Bruce and the Spider. Try try and try again before admitting defeat. & take Charge Place Scotland call handlers advice with a pinch of salt.
  43. Just a quick update for others with this issue. Identified the part number required for the OSR door lock (with help from a really helpful, long standing member on this forum) and fitted it this morning (Took about an hour, for me anyway!) nice, easy job and now works perfectly. Door lock part came from a 24' model Seat Arona as it'sthe same but superceeded part. Many thanks for all your help. (What a great useful forum this is - I've been a member for some years)
  44. So, that's the next project. The starting point is the following: Skoda Kodiaq model year 2019 PR code for SBBR light: 8SK BCM: HW 5Q0937086BR HW Version 036 SW 5Q0937086BR SW Version 0265 Destination: Skoda Kodiaq model year 2021 facelift Item number SBBR light 565945207B 565945208B 565945308F 565945307E This requires re-routing the cables into the tailgate. I still need to clarify the BCM software version to see if it needs to be updated. As for the animation, the BCM definitely needs to be replaced, but it's not needed.
  45. I've been using Total Ineo long life 5W30 in my 2.0 TDI was good value, recently used Shell HX8 ECT, engine runs like a dream with it. My advice though would be use the oil finder on the likes of Shell, Castrol and see what they recommend for your engine. Do not use Halfords finders they've always been off. For coolant I've been using some G13 from Euro Car Parts, the current recommended stuff is G12 Evo though. Personally I would go to Euro Car Parts, you can check stock in your local branch and if it's not on display give the guys the item code and it usually down the back.
  46. Yes, it's possible. I did it on mine (MK3 280 hp 2021 DNFE). I bought a new subframe, I don't remember if it was from a Passat or Arteon (Ref. 3Q0199369E), and it fits perfectly. I don't know if the one from the Golf is suitable. It's a time-consuming operation, but it's relatively simple. You just have to be careful to replace all single-use bolts and respect the tightening torques. If you're going to do it, I recommend installing subframe centering devices, such as those from Racingline or 034, to ensure proper alignment of the subframe. These photos are of mine as recently installed. Regards
  47. Hi Jack, I've just had the turbo recalibrated by a company that has the VAG software. Yeti is running like a dream. Maggie
  48. Discovered a new feature today. My Kodiaq is fitted with Virtual pedal to open the boot. Not an option I would have specced, but funny one. However I need to pratice. I don’t get it right every time. A good way to look stupid shaking ones leg under the rear bumper… 😁
