Probably too late but the water pump isn't a bad job if you are a competent diy'er. Being at the 'wrong' end of the engine there is no need to touch the cam belt. I have just done this job on my daughter's car which had a very small coolant leak. The pump is driven by its own tiny little toothed belt via a pulley on the gearbox end of the cam. You can buy just the pump but it's much easier to buy the pump complete with its plastic housing which apparently are prone to cracking anyway. The housing/pump comes with a new thermostat inside as well so you are killing 3 birds with one stone! I used an aftermarket Febi pump. You can replace the belt at the same time but it was out of stock and anyway I found it to be in perfect condition at 45,000 miles so I reused it. There is little driving strain on it unlike a cam belt.

To quote Forrest Gump, it would have to be sideways rain to get into the car under the titled sunroof. There is a drip edge and drainage tubes than can handle most light rain without getting the car wet inside. Also it would only be a worst case scenario; if I knew there was rain on the way I wouldn't leave anything open. And it feels more secure having just the sunroof open rather than windows down if I was leaving the car parked on a street somewhere. Also wind deflectors on the windows aren't really an option in my opinion. They're very noisy and more hassle than they're worth i think.

I doubt you can change the rails or seat frame. Best see an car interior trimmer to reform your seat.

Over the past few years on various Skoda's and other cars I've used Vredestein SporTrac, Falken Azenis FK520, Falken Zeix ZE310 Ecorun, MIchelin Cross Climate, and Goodyear Vector4 Seasons. I've also got some old Goodyear Hydragrip and Goodyear EagleVentura and have also used Vredestein HiTrac and my daughter's Citigo has Falken Sincera SN110 and iLink L-Grip 55 (the latter not fitted by me) which are all decent. Choices I would NOT use are Goodyear NCT and Goodyear Eagle F1 and Dunlop SP01 Sport as I've had them and they were poor.

On highway car is more stable on high speeds. Yes, I had Goodyear tyres

That's perfect tire! What kind of difference in handling do you mean? Were the factory-fitted tires Goodyear for you as well?

I have fitted last fall Michelin Crossclimate 2 205 55 r16 size for all seasons, and it's much better tyre then factory.. still noisy but handling is better

Hi all Does anyone know if it's possible to open just the sunroof from the key, without opening the windows? (When I say open, I mean only tilted open, not fully open) I regularly find myself wanting to open the sunroof without the windows just in case it would start raining, which usually involves me walking back to the car and climbing in to open the sunroof after parking. The ideal scenario would be hold for 3 seconds to open the sunroof, then hold again to open windows, but I'd happily settle for not being able to open the windows from the key if it allowed me to open just the sunroof. Thanks

Nope I pay absolutely no attention to the homologation / AO etc. markings. I simply look at reviews an find something that fits my requirements then buy it at a price that suits. Here in the UK next to the Pennines that has generally meant a tyre that prioritises wet-weather performance over dry grip and over the past few years given the need to deal with snow on a fairly regular basis through winter, has meant All Season Tyres.

Did you car come with tow prep and bar from the factory ?

I understand. Fortunately, the matter solved itself, leaving the car at rest - the problem had occurred after a trip/vacation of about 1200 km made in a week.

I didn't know. I'm from Hungary. 205/55 R16 91V 2,2 -2,3 bar So far, I’ve only tried the factory Goodyear, which is homologated, and the standard Toyo. I noticed that Nexen also has homologated tires. Do you guys take the AO marking into consideration when choosing tires?

Which country are you in? Would all-season tyres not suit you? How about saying what size tyres you have on, and what Speed & load rating they are, & are the XL (Reinforced) Also what tyre pressure you set at? There is a tyre / wheel section on Briskoda.

does anybody use different tire than goodyear? I find the factory Goodyear EfficientGrip too stiff — every road imperfection is felt very clearly through the car. It’s a homologated tire, marked AO, meaning Audi Original. Has anyone switched to a different type of tire? Which one worked well for you? I tried the Toyo Proxes Comfort. It was indeed more comfortable, but at higher speeds it caused a noticeable side-to-side vibration through the steering wheel, so I switched back to the Goodyears. However, they’re not very comfortable. Does anyone else find that road bumps and imperfections are felt this strongly with the Scala?

I bought an Octavia 3 FL with the following feature already coded (high beams also turn on with the fog lights). Could someone tell me how to code it so that the fog lights don’t turn on? P.S. I have LED headlights, not sure if it matters

I don't use the in-built sat-nav as I prefer Google Maps. However I've read the Karoq manual section on the sat-nav & there is no mention of being able to enter post codes. When I bought the car I tried the sat-nav & entered a post code because I was used to being able to do that on previous sat-nav systems I've used - as I expected it was accepted.

To answer my own question I actually found the part number attached to the tubing. Of course being part of the VW group things are never simple. You cannot buy just the tube as it comes with the wiring for the rear hatch attached to it so just the £150 when all that was required was a metre of tubing. 5mm clear rubber tube was purchased for a couple of quid and job done. Pity you have to remove 4 trim panels to be able to drop the roof lining enough to thread the new tube through.
