@GaryM1308 Check the switch assembly with the memory switches (1, 2, 3 and set). Due to its position a lot of dirt falls into it. Simply unclip the assembly, disconnect it and measure the power draw without these switches. I've fixed mine by completely disassembling, cleaning and reassembling it. (But I had slightly different symptoms, odd seat movement behavior). Other possible suspect is the seat heating. Its controllers are positioned at the very lowest position of the car, in a recess in the bottom below the seats. If you ever had a bit of water in the interior, than these controllers are the first to catch that water and fail.

I am running software 1985 and have just updated the maps to 26.6 during a 30 minute drive. How long were you driving for as I think the whole update has to be done in a single journey?

That's falrly accurate, there weren't any turbo diesels in the Skoda Felicia car or Pickup, only the VW Caddy/ Seat Inca Van. Do you know if it's a D or an SDI (should say on the boot)? The thing I would say though is never trust someone else's diagnosis. Daft stuff first, see if it's smoking out the exhaust when you turn it over, if it is, it's getting fuel in the cylinders. Check the cambelt isn't snapped. Give it a blast of brake cleaner down the air intake while someone turns it over. Make sure the stop valve is working, if you put your little finger on it, you should feel a little click as the ignition goes on and off. The stop valve should have 12v to it with the ignition on, if in doubt, take it out, remove the plunger and stick it back in (you might then need to stall the car to stop the engine if it's a D). Then I'd start by doing a leak off test. unplug the return hoses from the injectors, find some hose the right size and run them between the outlets on the injectors and 4 containers the same size (500ml pop bottles work well). Make sure there's diesel in the car and at the filter and spin it over. If you get a lot of fuel in a container. That injector's probably knacked. If you get a dribble into the container, things are probably OK, particularly if they're all the same level. If you don't get any, either it's out of fuel, the pump isn't pumping, or fuel the system needs bleeding. After that, go with whatever you've got a tester for, be it fuel pressure, compression. If it's solid, I'd go for it anyway, diesels aren't difficult. Worst case, it's got poor compression so it'll be easier to put an engine on. SDI's are easy to find, the older D's are getting a bit scarce.

They're just reflectors. The LED light strips at the top of the doors light up red when the doors are open.

I have octavia mk4 2020 first edition, when I bought it 5 months ago infotainment was 1806 and maps were from 23.11 I had sucessfuly updated maps to 26.2 with kingston usbC 64GB drive Meanwhile dealership updated my infotainment to 1989 but now i can't install 26.6 maps, I am driving for 5 days with new maps on usb drive but it's still on version 26.2. Anyone had similar problem?

Had a quick look on wikipedia and if its a MK2 caddy it had a choice of four diesel 1.9 two N/A and two Tdi. I pulled this from AI 1. Thanks, Kenny. I did as you suggested and discovered 1 update of no consequence (it was just clarifying some wording) which I updated with the car parked on the drive while I had lunch. Needless to say, there have been more "Update available" messages while driving, none of which I have managed to "capture2 as yet. I did email the CEO at Skoda UK with the problem and an assistant replied as below: "Re: Škoda Dear Gordon I hope you’re well. Thank you for reaching out to our Director, Eric Boutin. I’m sorry to learn that you’ve experienced issues receiving the Over?The?Air (OTA) updates to your Škoda. I’ve passed this to an Executive Office Case Manager, who will review the matter and be in touch with you within the next 48 hours to discuss it further. In the meantime, to support the investigation, I’d be grateful if you could confirm your Škoda’s registration. Thank you. Kind regards etc" I have not included the writer's name. A reasonable enough at this stage, I thought. However, before I could provide my Skoda's registration, I received this reply, from the Executive Case Manager. "Dear Gordon I hope you’re well. Thank you for your email and for explaining the issue you are experiencing with the OTA updates. I appreciate your frustration, particularly as the notification appears to be received only after you have driven away from your home and entered an area with better mobile network coverage. I understand that this then leaves you having to find somewhere safe to stop in order to carry out an update, without knowing in advance how long the process will take. The OTA update system relies on the vehicle’s built-in mobile network connection to communicate with the Škoda servers. It does not use your home Wi-Fi connection. Therefore, if the vehicle has limited or no mobile network coverage while parked at your home, it may not receive the notification until you have driven into an area with a stronger signal. This would appear to explain why you receive the notification shortly after leaving your home, although we cannot confirm the specific cause without inspecting the vehicle. If you feel that this is not related to the mobile network coverage in your area, then the only option I can really suggest is to have the vehicle booked into your local Škoda retailer so that they can investigate this further. However, as mentioned above, this can be quite common when the vehicle is parked in an area with limited or no mobile network signal, as the OTA notification may only be received once the vehicle moves into an area with sufficient coverage. If you do decide to have the vehicle inspected, please feel free to come back to us once this has been carried out and we will be happy to assist further. However, based on the information provided, I believe the behaviour you are experiencing to be normal when the vehicle has limited or no mobile network coverage. Kind regards etc." So the whole thing is my fault, I live in the wrong place (although, in the past, I have received notifications of available updates with the car parked at home). And since sending my original email to the CEO, on routes I have regularly driven on over the past 16 years without any notifications being received in that time,I have twice received notifications of updates in the past two days! Maybe, I'm being unreasonable, but my view is if motor manufacturers want to provide OTA updates, then it's their responsibility to provide adequate coverage through their servers.

VAG MQB A1 platform which is used for Seat, Audi, Skoda and VW cars. This covers engines, gearboxes, suspension technology etc - so any quirks are likely to manifest themselves in the related vehicles. Also engines and gearboxes are common across the VAG range. The Kamiq, VW Tcross and Seat Arosa are slightly smaller but again the same group of parts MQB A0 platform.

I agree at this moment in time it’s “how long is a piece of string” it’s getting delivered anytime now so will know more shortly. Looking on eBay the cheapest is £156. I’ve spoken to 2 firms that do reconditioning and their combined prices range from £300 all the way up to the dizzy heights of £1500. It’s a 1998 VW pick-up 1.9 but I can’t find any info on that anywhere but know there’s a big following for the Felicia pickup hence why I’m here. Very late replying, but I had a failure in my Swedish MOT yesterday because of an engine oil leak. Spent most of today degreasing and washing the engine bay of my 1999 1.3 Felicia and discovered the leak was from the cam follower cover. When I checked the cover bolts, 2 were finger tight and the other 2 were not much better..... To be on the safe side I've ordered a new gasket and 4 of the cover bolt rubber seals.....

Hi Adenuf Same problem here, already checked the filter and its ok, values are regular, but regen every 31 miles... Changes the lambda sensor because of fault 1 month ago and now going for the DPF sensor and tubes, will give feedback here

I've since found out that the exact one they were looking at has been reserved by someone else so is currently off the menu but they're still looking at similar so this is all very helpful. Does anyone know if the same issues apply to the equivalent VW (T-CUP or whatever the smaller one is called this year) model?

could be a worn cv joint/drive shaft thats clunking. Mine sounds similar and reckon theres play in joint/shaft so under aceleration you dont notice as its under pressure but if you slow down and accelerate again it clunks slightly. I assume the clunking is the slack being taken up. Doesnt do it full left/right but generally in a straight line. Alasdair

Thanx No, no braking. Is somehow posssible that can be brake pads? About three months i replace front brake pads with ABS brand. And then about one week i have wierd noise when i drive foward and pres brake, there was one metal noise,and then when i go revers and pres brake there was again one metal noise. But after week that was good. (Brake pads moving i guess)

There not a ton of content about repairing the tube, replacing it yes but a solid repair, no. I'll keep updating the post with what I do as it may help people with the same issue. I have ordered 2 more Pneumatic fittings: SMC KQ2L06-99A - although the opening is 6mm i've seen on a passat forum someone was able to get the injector nozzle firmly inserted. SMC KQ2H04-06A - This acts as the bridge from 6mm-4mm so that the ad blue cable can connect at the other end. I can't be 100% if this will work as the passats nozzle could be a different size, but the forum says this worked very easily. We'll see Parts cost £20 with delivery total spend so far £40.

North Sea oil is a light oil with less diesel hence diesel has to come from other continents from their crude or from their refined product which is heavier distillate intensive.

@CJJE @ian-inhome what version. Hardware and Software do you currently have? Prior to the update I had Hardware H25 and Software 0330, after the update 0334. This is for Amundsen unit - Columbus has different hardware and software versions. Maybe the latest download only works with 0330.

Hello everyone, I’ve bought a 2016 model year Skoda Fabia NJ. The factory-fitted radio is the Bolero, part number: 5Q0035819, software: H21.50.93_STD2_EU. SmartLink is enabled, but the only option available is MirrorLink. Unfortunately, that’s no use to anyone these days. Is it possible to get Android Auto working via a software update? Or is there another way to use Android Auto without having to fit a different multimedia unit? Best regards
