  3. 1. SIM Card & Data Usage: For the PRO version, you simply insert your own SIM card (this isn't a factory eCall system with a built-in SIM). Lite version (no SIM): Can use a small amount of data via Wi-Fi (e.g., synced via home Wi-Fi or phone hotspot). PRO version (with SIM): Uses Wi-Fi data whenever a known Wi-Fi network is in range, and only falls back to mobile data when Wi-Fi is unavailable. Even then, it consumes only a tiny amount of mobile data (literally just a few kilobytes for lightweight text/MQTT payloads), so any cheap prepaid or basic IoT SIM card is more than enough. 2. Location Tracking: Currently, vehicle location is used and recorded within the Trip Logbook. Expanding this into further tracking features is purely a matter of software programming – once the project gets funded through initial sales and is properly up and running, I can easily develop and expand these features further.

  5. The mechanic did it, dunno how! In previous post I said "I solved it" as I was from mobile and it was faster way to answer....
  6. Missed services have nothing what so ever to do with Corrosion Warranty Claims as there is nothing in the T&C,s about inspections. ? Is there a body report from every other Service where they carried out an inspection and uploaded that to the system?
  7. It would not be a DQ200 DSG dry clutch DSG fitted to a 1.9 TDI. And anyway it was 2008 before fitted to the engines they were fitted to. DQ250,s were used from 2003 on some VW group vehicles.

  9. that amount of rust on the front crash bar is absolutely insane!! good u replaced it!! i like wat u've done with the re-purposed Golf GTi air vent guide. i'm planning to get a set for myself so next time i have the front bumper off, i can fit these. thanks for the idea.
  10. Thanks, I think I get the idea so will hack up a faraday solution and try it out. I think ultimately I might just need to find an external lock box (like Surf Lock) that fits the large key and also turn off KESSY.

  12. My VRS has failed the MOT with the NS front spring broken , the parts should be here tmrw so i may try and do it the same day while we have longer days , can I ask a question , You say you can change the spring in situ , is that right ? Would there be enough room to get the spring compressors in to remove the spring over top of the shock ? I was factoring in knocking the strut off the hub and then compressing the spring . Also looks like I have only ordered the bearing and not the top mount , do i need the mount or can it be re-used? Also I dont have a hub splittter so was going to use a screwdriver and a allen key if there is room , good bad idea ? Thanks in advance Peeps
  13. How does the SIM card data plan work or are you expected to purchase your own ? Can the location of the car be tracked also ?
  14. My days, in 18 months this thing will be a historic vehicle of interest and will be LEZ exempt. The law is mad.
  15. Ok many thanks for the reply, I'll try and work out how to do all that!
  16. How you fix the FeC Problem? No way for The Pop-up...

  20. Hi, Sorry I know this is quite a while after the original posting date, but I have having the same issue and same rejection reasons put to me. Would you be open to sharing the contact details for Skoda head office? I have been in communication with Skoda UK customer services and they just aren't listening to me at all, taking accountability or being helpful in any way. I have put it back on them that if they are rejecting my claim due to a missed service, it was while they held my car in a Skoda dealership prior to my purchase of it.
  21. Hi all! This is my first post here but I was really hoping for some advice. The post regards my experience managing my first car on my own, and all had been going well until now! For context, I have had my Skoda Citigo 2017 for 4 years. I purchased it outright at 5 years old from D. M. Keith Leeds, before relocating to the west midlands where it has since been managed by Johnsons Skoda Burntwood. I have generally maintained a low threshold for escalating concerns as I am the only driver in my household currently to notice any issues. When taking my car in for its service and MOT (at Skoda Burntwood) on the 17th August 2026, I informed the dealership that I had noticed corrosion around the fuel cap over the summer. Quick google revealed its a common issue and should be covered by the warranty. Great! Weeks pass since I informed them and no word, I keep touching base with the dealership. Finally, on 8th September 2026 the dealership calls me to tell me the warranty claim (12 year body protection warranty (anti-perforation warranty)) has been rejected on the basis of "Skoda should have been informed 4 to 5 years ago". I push back, initially without full understanding of the specifics of the relevant warranty, but with the rational of my ownership of the car has only just gone on 4 years, and I didn't drive my car much following purchase due to my father falling ill and unfortunately passing a few months later. I was flying back and forth between Belfast and Birmingham a lot. So my car largely remained in the garage and used for short trips. And as mentioned, I was pretty vigilant about the cars condition so I absolutely would have brought it to the dealerships attention sooner if there had been something to notice. I ask for the contact details to escalate and was provided with the contact details for Skoda UK customer services. Over a month later, 6th October 2026, the advisor informs me of an second reason for the rejection now - that service history was incomplete. Yet over the course of my ownership, the service history is complete and all with Johnsons Skoda Burntwood. They quote an extended scope service missing from 2021. Also note, the 4 to 5 years reason has since not been mentioned. With awareness of the conditions of the warranty now, I continue to push back as it is not relevant per their warranty preconditions. It is now 26th October 2026 and I'm no closer to getting this resolved. I've requested transcripts of the call from the 8th September and the 6th October as evidence of the rejection reasons and when I have been informed. I'm just at a loss at this point. I know others have had the same issue and similar rejection reasons as me, yet they have been successful in getting it resolved (such as https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/528055-successful-warranty-claim/). Can someone please help me?

  23. I had a 14 plate diesel vrs, moved to a 23 plate petrol vrs estate and difference was very small most of the time. 40mpg average is realistic. Recently got a 26 plate with the 265bhp - slightly down on previous mpg figures but hoping its still loosening up
  24. Big thanks to Breezy_Pete for all your help in this matter; I now know why I can't see the shutters. Also, thanks, DerekU, for your input in this matter.

That step 6 could be a mib2 high poster getting on the mib3 thread 🫣. You might have one off those units that is stuffed up. Presentation is everything the same as mib2 highs. They are signed files so if anything gets in there it knows and won't work. Sometimes people find downloading it again is helpful. Older versions of pkunzip although I reckon for mib3 you are better off using the built in windows 11 unzip. I've seen an all important file of mib3 getting swallowed up in pkunzip.
  26. Feels like there is an issue.... best of luck. Perhaps your map side is messed up on their registration. You should be getting over the air firmware updates as well logged in as the primary user.

  28. Thanks! I’ll try as soon as I can! I thought I had to enter in the secret menu to update the maps! I’ll follow what You put at the voice Step 6
  29. I picked up the car after its service. The technician confirmed that it does indeed need a new clutch slave cylinder. He claims this is the cause of the issues I’ve been experiencing when pulling away smoothly and gently. Since there wasn't enough time (it needs over 2 hours for the installation) and the part wasn't immediately in stock, I took the car back after it's service and they will notify me in the coming days once the part arrives so we can schedule an appointment for the replacement. The cost will be covered under warranty. I will provide an update on the outcome. As for the rest, the receipt shows that the service included an oil change, a new oil filter, a brake fluid change, a cabin air filter, spark plugs, and a general inspection.
  30. Finally found a sensible parts catalogue at https://www.lllparts.co.uk/catalogs/skoda It has entries for front doors L&R but rear doors are also split into saloon and combi (estate) so I think that means the fronts are common to both body shape. S.
  31. Looks like the only extra wires that would be needed are a 12v feed from fuse box and a ground. All others are reused from existing fakra connections and one red wire from the green block of the quad lock. (Top part of diagram is without hub, bottom part of diagram is with hub R293) BCM not involved. This kit has all the wiring. Would just be the actual usb port needed. https://a.aliexpress.com/_EIoHt10
