  4. Mine looked like this I’ve pushed it down Hoping it was that which was causing my smell But what causes it to ride up?
  5. Hi what mileage is on the car now ? Thanks
  6. Why is there no fuel filler cap in place ? Is that how you received it at purchase ?
  7. I wonder if it's because the all in plan includes warranty so cannot be started until the warranty runs out?
  8. I tried buying the Ain1 plan online in the 30 days before my Karoq was 3 years old but it wasn’t possible, my dealer tried on their system and they couldn’t set it up in advance either. Then a couple of days before the end of the 3rd year it became possible. I’d already had my Karoq MOT’d separately. I think Skoda are missing a trick here the All-in plan should include the first MOT when taken out in the 30 days before the end if the 3rd year.
  9. I should have stated 1.5 engine & DSG transmission !

  11. I have this issue on my superb. Going to give it a go tomorrow to try and fix it.
  12. @pab567 Hi, please, can you send me the MEN2_EU_SKGPx_P0080L_MU8755 too? We have bought Fabia 2020 and we have the exact same cracking issue … :/ Current version is MEN2_EU_SKGPx_P9160L, MU:8742 Thank you

  15. Some maybe by mistake give it 9.7:1 https://www.autoparts-24.com/engine/code/136m/15047/ (Note: While some technical databases occasionally round this figure up to 10.0:1 for late-model variations, the official standard for the Škoda 781.136M high-output block is 9.7:1) Although https://www.ultimatespecs.com/car-specs/Skoda/5623/Skoda-Felicia-13-MPI-68.html https://www.scribd.com/document/956290892/Skoda-1300-Manual Compression Ratio 10:1
  16. It's 10:1, it's literally written in the pic which is official material from Skoda. Anyway, I forgot to write translation of non-obvious terms in the picture, relevant to the valve timing: Saní otevírá před HÚ - Inlet valve closes before TDC (top dead centre) Sáni uzavírá po DÚ - inlet valve closes after BDC (bottom dead centre) Výfuk otevírá před DÚ - exhaust valve opens before BDC Výfuk zavírá po HÚ - exhaust valve closes after TDC
  17. Got my superb estate 2 days ago Filled up with £50 on weds Came home could smell fuel Same again yesterday Got home from a trip and could smell fuel Noticed a wet patch on my fuel tank Went to the garage today They inspected it and said there is no active leaks They had it in a garage with the doors shut and running and couldn’t smell anything But when I’ve had it back this evening Absolutely stinks Soon as you open the fuel flap it’s as if you have your head in the tank It’s so strong Did a few searches and there’s tons of info online One think I don’t know Is There seems to be a gap between the plastic and the fuel filler neck Is this normal? Also just pushed the rubber boot back down, would this cause the fuel smell? Or can it be pushed up with tank pressure? Possibly from a faulty evap or n80?
  18. I assume the Octavia vrs one will fit unless pipe is different diameter overall. But they make them in house so I’m sure they could make one at a price.
  19. Hi there, Love the Monte Carlo and wish I still had mine rather than the Karoq I replaced it with. Great choice of extras but personally I wouldnt bother with the headlight washers. I would also probably go with the assisted drive plus and the winter premium packages and consider the safety pack. I'm also considering another and possibly go Meteor Grey,[ last one was Race Blue]
  20. I had a look on the website and they have 1.5 versions on there (obvs badged up for anything but a Skoda) but oddly no anti-drone version which seems nuts. Why would you not want it?! Anyway, they might do one if requested.

  22. Hi all, Recently bought a 2010 MK2 after having to put my old, and first, car out of its misery. Few little gremlins I've seen but a rather unhelpful one is a stuck driver side mirror adjuster. Pushing the glass into place doesn't seem to solve the issue as it slides back to where it was. Not really possible to move the adjuster either and any movement puts the glass in an evening worse position facing into the car. Wondering if anyone is able to advice on a possible fix/cause? Strapped for cash so praying it is something I could realistically fix myself as someone trying to learn how to work on cars themselves. Cheers!

  24. Thanks for checking - it SHOULD be obvious whether or not a Fabia Mk4 has the cooling-shutter unit. Interesting that your 2026 Monte Carlo has the shutter-unit, but @Alvin600 's car evidently does not. I believe your car and @Alvin600's have the same 1.5litre engine and DSG transmission, so one might (perhaps!) expect them both to have a shutter-unit, or neither to have a shutter-unit.
  25. I'll be changing the fuel temp sensor hopefully Monday. I hope it's not worrying, 5 minutes totems into 5 hours.....
  26. Interested to know more. My mk2 octavia has already sill damage from previous owner/garage lifting it probably slightly wrong place. I too am not happy lifting on pinch welds either. Older cars I have had had a definite block in chassis that you put jack under. Lifting car with sill may be fine for changing a wheel but not if working on it. I generally try at front to get under console or at rear under control arm where it meets chassis. Then as a safety point put axle stand under pinch weld. Alasdair

  28. Hi everyone. My fabia mk2 1.6L 77kw 105Hp engine sump/oil pan got a crack in it because I overtightened it (stupid i know). I have bought the correct oil sump but when it arrived i noticed it has an oil level sensor precut in it. After a further look i noticed that My one has the precut plated shut. I thought that if i already got a new one I might as well retro fit the sensor if its not too hard of a job. Does anyone has/had any experience with retro fitting oil sensor of fabia mk 16L 16v? Uploaded photos of my old oil pan. Also here is the part seriel number number 02C 103 603 S Thanks for the help
  29. These Powerflex ones look like a good idea, I am never that comfortable using the pinch welds. Are these a fit a forget solution and where exactly do they fit?
  30. I believe @tombee fitted and RPM res delete to his 220 and the local powerflow branch did the fitting.
  31. Time to find a new garage I think 🤔 He was able to reproduce the problem which I guess is the only bit of good news. His view is that for some reason the master cylinder is not releasing pressure when the pedal is released. Yep, don't need to be a genius to work that out. When he changed the master cylinder he wasn't able to source an original so used a pattern part. He said previously he's only ever used original parts when changing master cylinders. His thought is that the new master cylinder is slightly out of tolerance and is not releasing pressure. His advice is that I should try to source a second hand original part and he will fit it. Don't want to do this as the second hand part could quite easily be no better than the original one that was on the car. Quite disappointed with his attitude as have used his garage for a number of years. Anyway, have got the car back home and booked into a local Skoda specialist. I explained what had happened and they were quite happy to have a look. Perhaps they'll have a new customer in the future.
