I can access the user settings, though at least once it has reverted back to guest from my own profile during an application update. One way to stop the updates is to set the user profile privacy to high which stops the esim from connecting except for the sos function. On the Karoq Facebook group someone with the same problem has received an email from skoda saying that they know it is a technical problem and will be fixed by an OTA update they are working on.......

It's so annoying that they don't give spare wheels on cars, where possible. Those foam kits are a waste of time. I have a Sportline TDI 4x4 with the 20" wheels, and I use the 19inch spare wheel that I'd bought for my previous Octavia VRS. It'd picked it up as a kit off of eBay, including a jack and wheel brace. Only bit I had to buy then was the genuine Skoda plastic locking screw that holds the wheel in position. You can lever the rear sets up after releasing them to get to the original foam insert that has some of the tools, inflator and foam kit. I stored that in the attic and laid the spare wheel in there, and the jack/tools in the centre wrapped in bubble wrap. Works fine for me. I'm sure you can get a genuine kit it'll include the proper foam insert that surrounds the wheel and holds the tool. Not on my Yeti, but I have a Fiat Ducato campervan with Michelin Agilis camper rated (CP) tyres. After a holiday journey of 100 miles at up to 65 mph, I discovered that one front tyre had only 25 PSI rather than the usual 60. Tried pumping up with a brand new 12 volt powered inflator, but after 10 minutes this only got to 35 PSI before noisily failing (overheated ?). Finished off with a bicycle pump which took forever but got to 60 PSI eventually. Next morning, back down to 25 PSI so out with the bicycle pump then off to the nearest tyre dealer. They found a small nail in the tread, I guess it only leaked when the pressure was higher than 25 PSI. Tyre removed, checked, repaired and balanced then on my way for just £25. I am amazed that the tyre took this punishment, reinforced sidewalls must have helped. I will probably replace it soon as it's coming up to 10 years old.

Thank you. The problem is not totally about OTA updates. The system itself is subject to non-OTA updates. These have to be carried out at the dealership. My system is still on the original update - 0278. Customers are not informed if an update is needed. It is only carried out if problems linked to it are reported. I had no problems until the car was out of warranty, therefore it is chargeable. As for the MyScala app, yes I have it but it won’t authorise me to access the user settings system. The dealer thinks this may be the problem why the OTAs aren’t updating

If your metal 'blade' in the key is broken, you should have it remade by any key specialist shop, is only the machining needed. The electronic part of the key is separated from it. I would advise against homemade attempts to "glue" this together, if your lucky you it will break in your pocket and you will lose the metal blade part, if you are unlucky it will snap when the key is in the door lock .. and you can guess how that saga would continue 😁

On my 2016 Superb Mk 111 2.0 the key has come detached. I noticed a crack in the casing. Do I have to get a replacement from a dealer, or is it something I can fix myself. I’ve done a quick google, where it seems to can get replacement fob cases, but can’t see how you would insert your original key. Fortunately I have a spare, but for peace of mind would like to have a spare again. Thank you.

Fix was to replace both lambda sensors. After replacing lambda1 (pre cat, B1S1), it started to throw active codes for lambda2 (post cat, B1S2). After replacing both sensors the fault (codes or MIL) hasn't come back. My guess is that the car had a missfire problem and lambda sensors problem - both of which are long gone now.

@East_Yorkshire_Retrofits have OEM folding towbars for kodiaq listed on their website. they may well do for superb too. These are priced about £1500

Hi all, Today, while driving, my octavia's check engine light came on, plugged it in to an OBD scanner and it said: P2196 -> O2 Sensor Signal Biased/Stuck Rick bank 1 Sensor 1 I must mention, that earlier in the week I happened to notice that when I start the engine on, and the AC starts running, I can feel a smell of gasoline coming in through the vents. I checked online it says that it can be a high pressure fuel pump problem, or something completely different. I am open and thankful to suggestions, since this is the first time I experiencing this type of problem. Is it safe for me to drive the car? Should I immediately leave it at the workshop? Or what more could I check? Is it a common thing with these Octavias? The car has 133 000 kms on it. Thanks in advance.

I had a flickering headlight. Swapped ballasts and it stayed in same place. I found the torx screws on the ballasts quite difficult to get to. I wiser if you have an 90degree bit holder or Allen key type torx bits. I then Changed bulb and all good. I upgraded to LED bulbs. They’ve been brilliant although I did have a faulty one (I suspect I damaged it trying to install it) but the supplier replaced FOC under warranty. Been perfect ever since and a nice upgrade. It's 2012. ,1.2 TDI ,new egr fitted but still has same code and glow plugs light flashing,I was going to find out what voltage I think should be 5 v at which pin , and wanted to know iif there was a common place wiring may be damaged

From memory, think is was a minimum of 5mm

What year is the car and which engine type does it have?

My car is in the garage and its a very big garage connecting several building, and when I get out, it gets confused and the gps/navi is wrong. Basically it can even go into the wrong direction. Happened again today, drove 30min, parked car for 5h and on the journey home, everything worked perfectly.

I should also add that I have previously ‘validated’ the ‘Since refuelling MPG’ with brim-to-brim fuelling and the figures were within 0.5 miles per gallon, so I that’s good enough for me.

Fitted a new egr valve , plug looked ok ,pins ok , still have egr code po 40300 and showing no live data , I need to check pins next but is there anywhere that the wiring rubs or breaks ect

MIB-Helper indicates that the latest official Firmware version is P0253T but there’s P0353T available (and I can see a ver: P0359T listed, too). My current version is P0241T. Is it safe to use the P0359T or should I just stick with P253T? Thx

I'd have put the strip in warm soapy water, make it more flexible, not saying it would work but that's what I would have tried.
