Sadly my 2.0 4x4 65plate is in the shop needing a new DMF/Clutch I was quoted £1850 from an AA garage in Swindon (see attached for breakdown) Managed to get the parts for total of just shy £500 And I have an ex VAG mechanic and his boy fitting it on the weekend for£300 I think that's the best I could hope for

I am in the process of replacing a nox sensor on my superb mk3 and after installation I will need to do a nox sensor reset/adaptation. I would like to get a scan tool such as iCarsoft VAWS V3.0 but I'm not sure if it can perform this function. Has anyone done this procedure and what scan tool did you use?

My mate has one. The rear window seals are a bit dodgy, but aside from that it’s a perfectly good little car. MOT history also isn’t everything - I’ve had two previous cars that turned out to be lemons, both with pristine MOT histories going back 6 and 8 years respectively.

I went from a Karoq SportLine to a Scala MC 1.5 DSG about 15 months ago and it’s the best decision I made and have zero regrets. Other than an occasional creaky binnacle (which I also had with the Karoq) I’m very happy with it. I’d hesitate to say it’s sporty but it’s rapid enough and handles well enough for me. Been on a few holidays in it, 4-up plus the dog and all the luggage and it handles it admirably, in fact the the kids (17 &18) both reckon it’s more comfy as a rear seat passenger than the Karoq was. Boot space is good, seats are comfy and apart from the occasional glitch the infotainment system works well (I use CarPlay as I find the native Škoda satnav truly awful). The only complaint from my wife is that the sun visor vanity mirrors don’t have a light but I can live with that. Is there anything specific info you’re looking for?

Hve you checked any fuse(s) that supply both G65 and air quality sensor?

I’ve heard a vw beetle carberator spring also fixes the issue.

Hi all. Fiancée got a Skoda fabia 2020 with android auto today. We connected her phone no problem and used the maps function and Spotify to drive home. Once we got home, we went back out to drive the new car. However, it hasn't connected since. Since then, We have factory reset her phone (S26 Ultra) We have factory reset the head unit We have rebooted the head unit We have removed updates on phone We have looked into a software update for the head unit We have unpaired and repaired via Bluetooth We have "forgot devices" on the car and her phone We have tried 4 different OFFICIAL data usb cables We have tried connecting my phone (note 13 pro Xiaomi) We have changed usb default settings We have disabled autoblocker on Samsung We have tried the battery optimization We have cleared data and cache for android auto and Google play services. Please help!

Did the harbour seals show up?

OK, dinosaur replying to my own problem here! Sorry to bother you all - I hadn't realised that the Android Auto hadn't transferred completely to the new phone, so having done an update on that, the system now seems to work. I'll find another question in due course, I'm sure. Thanks for reading anyway 🙂

Thanks. The wheel well was dry yesterday but it has been dry recently so I'll keep an eye out for that

Check for water in the spare wheel well - may have been solved in the face lift, but on the older ones it was a dodgy seal around the light cluster let water in.

Thanks guys. Yes Facelift version. It's in good nick generally with not much picked up on the MOT history other than a misting rear shock absorber and tyres getting low. Service history is pretty good up until the last year or so when usage has been very low mileage due to the owner being at Uni then heading off to Oz. It's also got no rust around the fuel filler and drives well with no undue noises. The place I'm getting it from is actually a neighbour's S/H car dealer but I never knew until yesterday. They'll service it sort the tyres, MOT it and sort the shockers if needed. So we've pulled the trigger and put a deposit down. Will look to thoroughly underseal around the filler flap and sort arch liners when I get my hands on it, and I'm looking for a auto headlight sensor switch, mudflaps, a parcel shelf and a couple of other bits for it...

evening all I'm having some issues with my ICE system when it is connected to iphone on car play it randomly stops playing the music and starts making a loud buzzing sound instead - I wonder if an update oin the firmware may fix?? is anyone able to help or at least tell me where I can get or send me a copy of the most recent update? After OTA software upgrade, my car started to show the SOS call limited error message. When checking with OBD11 it reported Battery Service Life Critical (I believe that is 5-year time based and a sneaky money making trick by VW group) and Battery Flat errors. Read widely online that this costs upwards of £400 for Skoda to fix. I brought the replacement battery 3G0 915 089. Did not trust AliExpress units enough, so paid £130 for the original. Skoda price is about £100, but out of stock. Instructions are exactly the same as many YouTube videos about doing it for VW ID4. Pull up rear bench seat by hand. Pull back carpet quite far. Pull out the communication unit. Slide it out of the plastic cover. As the connectors are rather fiddly I did not undo all of them (only the power and data). Replaced the battery and put it all back together. Then drove the car for 2 days to make sure the new battery was fully charged. Then used ODB11 to reset error messages, (in the OBD11 'Apps' menu, it is called 'Emergency Call Battery Reset'. This costs £29 it tokens. Error message is gone. About an hour of work.

High beam assist seems to be on special offer at the moment. I've just purchased it for £125 instead of the usual £180. I have the option appearing correctly on the menu, but I haven't driven in the dark yet to try it out.

I have a 2018 Petrol Estate, with what I believe is the Bolero infotainment screen - no built-in satnav but happily accepted being plugged into my Samsung Galaxy Android phone. When I bought the car a couple of years ago and plugged in, that more or less set itself up. I've just swapped to a Nothing Phone 2a, also Android, largely because the connection/charging socket on the Samsung was getting less and less reliable, and sometimes dropped contact halfway round a roundabout. (It wasn't just in the car, nor with that cable, its contact was unreliable with other cables too in other places.) Sadly the Nothing phone, while it cheerfully says it's charging, so I guess the physical connection is good, doesn't appear to want to connect to the app for navigation. For some reason the screen now identifies something as "142" which it didn't offer before, but still below that offers me the green rectangles labelled with Android or Mirror connection. When it was in a good mood, just plugging the Samsung in was enough, once it had established what it was. Now I get a pause, then "connection failed". So - firstly - is anyone else using a "Nothing" phone successfully? Secondly - Any suggestions for how to get it talking as a satnav, seeing as that was a large point of buying it, would be most gratefully received, please. OccyVRS, Can I politely beg you to go for the option, please. I think rear wipers should be mandatory and not optional anyway. Yes, you only need it occasionally, but when you do need it you really do need it. I recently bought a nearly-new L&K. The original owner spent £50k+ on the car, but didn't add the £150 option! And now I miss the wiper every time it rains. I guess I could get one retro-fitted, but that would probably cost more than I spent on the whole car 😁 On reliability ... I had my last Superb for over 10 years and the rear wiper never failed me. The washer did stop for a little while, but my local garage cleared that up at no charge so it could not have been a significant problem.
