  2. Thanks for that. The SKODA card I have reports at 16Gb. I tried the UK and western Europe map, (ECE 1) downloaded it, formatted the card FAT32, then unzipped the map onto the card with 'Unarchiver' which seems to have a decent reputation with Mac OS. The zipped file is 8Gb and the site says a 16Gb minimum is needed. Should be fine. The result of that effort is what appears in photo 4. A fail. Simply selecting NAV, then following the prompt to insert the card tells me it's accepted the card OK as a source of Nav data - but then it says it can't use it or words to that effect. Doesn't seem to make sense. I'm just wondering if the Mac OS is putting something else on there that I can't see when the file is being unzipped which then screws up the card.
  3. I assume that You have navigation package. Maps updates are automatic OTA. You do not need to do anything. I believe that the page where one can check map updates for a specific VIN number is meant for older cars.
  4. Today
  5. I've been getting this too, from posts elsewhere it would appear that a download is being rolled out in batches of VINs. Today I got the message and was driving the car long enough to actually get the download downloaded and then theres a message to install it which takes 20 mins,, after that theres a further message to install the Apps which can be done in the background.
  6. Thanks, Yes please, I just want to know if clear lens ending with (5j2941017)J /D will just work plug and play in Monte Carlo Mk2 2013 plate ,WITHOUT any bulb or wiring modification . Appreciate your time. Thanks Kind Regards
  7. I bought a cheap one before and it wouldn't work at all
  8. Appreciate @Evolution13 for your time , CAR is RHD, UK, Fabia Mk2 2013 plate , CBZB ,1.2 petrol hatchback 5J, Monte Carlo. I can DM u vin if u want please. Thanks Kind Regards
  9. Not 205/50 R17, but 205/45 R 17,s or 215/40 R 17,s are often fitted. The Polo GTI, Seat Cupra & Audi A1 195 Twinchargers all came on 215/40 R 17s, So many threads on ther subject in the past 16 years,. A 215/40 R 17 fits in the spare tyre well.
  10. No electrics at fuel filler flap. Yes doors and tail gate. What model / trim of mk2 Fabia have you. In what country and what year is it?
  11. Dear Experts, Thought to update, Luckily I was able to open the fuel flap with just light wiggling and close and reopen all worked fine. Also I don't see any motor lock pin system ( no perturbed pins found when central lock /unlock key fob is pressed ) , but I can see that fuel cap have LOCK which works fine with car door mechanical key . Does this mean this is correct functionality please any thoughts .. I looked PR code for my car which have number "4K3" and it states that "Door and tailgate/trunk lid locking 4K3 mechanism"- "Central locking w/ radio remote control, interior controls and SAFELOCK" and it does not mention about Filler Flap so I understand that this particular model MAY NOT not have motor/actuator fitted for fuel filter cap and which works with central locking system. Any thought please would be highly appreciated. Thanks Kind Regrds
  12. If you just want maps the Official Skoda website has them available for download , as long as your Official Skoda SD card has enough space for the new maps you will be fine, some older official Cards are to small for the new maps to fit on, hence why people suggest a new larger "Official" card (the standard MIB2 Units are locked down to only use official SD cards). The mib-helper website is a good place to start for information about updating or patching you system, or there are some very good YouTube Videos on the subject too.
  13. New Dacia Spring, big revision as the Dacia Spring, 45, 65 were pretty awful and the Spring 100, whilst big improvement, was still fairly naff. It shares much with the new Twingo I gather.... (Chukier, Heavier and Roomier ((but actually less power but torque not too bad for a 1.2 T car and makes it at low revs)).
  14. I use all sorts. Clean glass with white vinegar or meths if I don't drink it and rub with old newspaper then Rain X, fog X clear glass or whatever. Buff with old y fronts or a soft cloth. Treat window rubbers. Or not bother sometimes. Today I did most of that 3 times. Brae nicht the nicht, fair drawing in.
  15. @Evolution13 I've never used RainX - got put off it ages ago when it talked of the criticality of cleaning the screen before applying it. Is the in your photo a single application version?
  16. You just press in flap and it opens. Unless stuck. Frozen winter time. Czech built cars. Not that great in island nations. Some even had an ice scraper you could not get to.

  18. Thank you so much JamesK! Great information - I shall try greasing (silicone spray) those pesky blocks tomorrow. Barry.
  19. That's what my Google says as well. Don't the MkII's have a release cable in the boot somewhere under the trim panel?
  20. Hi all, Young driver 22, new to skoda, this is my third car and its a 2015 octavia vrs 2.0 petrol 6 speed manual Excited to get on the road in this!

  22. As long as the EV is plugged in, and I tend to leave it plugged in much of the time, I can start or restart charging even when I am not at home, create a new charging schedule and alter the upper battery limit to stop or restart charging to take advantage of negative priced electricity. Think my lad can do that for his Mini but I can do it for the Renaults on the Renault App.
  23. Hi. I have the cheapest one I could find on AliExpress and it has literally worked flawlessly since the day I got it. https://a.aliexpress.com/_EQeRtHo
  24. Binx1310 started following Ottocast issues
  25. The problem with electricity like that is that you have to be at home in order to take advantage of it. OVO have at long last rolled out special EV tariffs, or at least it is the first time they contacted me regarding them.

  27. Negative priced electricity certainly helps running cost and there are 5 hours of that which is long enough to charge multiple EVs, as well as do household stuff too. I have found insurance high either and service cheap too ie less than £100 a year. Should be some very good deals, loss leaders to hit EV quota targets for some marquee who are behind target. Might be less 0% deals as cost of borrowing has gone up in the last few weeks in many countries, depending how the UK seller finances any finance deal. New Dacia Spring looks like it has been updated significantly as the UK's cheapest car not just EV !
  28. @Rhencullen Have you ruled out the tailgate dampers not being the cause of the rattle? Have a look at this thread for more details... Link to forum thread

Same on ours. I've noticed a few times the infotainment takes a while to start up so I hoped it was loading an update. Only for the update message to reappear.
