  2. Used to be small packages up to 2KG only after Brexit, think they send larger stuff now by DHL, I've never had any problems, never ordered anything large like a rear spoiler etc though, drop them an email see what they say.

  4. Hi all! I'm 30 something year old male from Finland. I got my first child about a year ago and the need for bigger car and isofix seat was imminent, so my trustworthy 2004 VW Bora 1.6 petrol had to go. I started looking for bigger car, as we needed to transport 2 adults, 1 baby and all their stuff for 2-4 weeks at a time because my job. I spotted 350 000 km 2014 Skoda Superb 2.0 TDI 4x4 Estate with good service history at an auction, and I thought it was superb mk3 rather than facelifted mk 2 so I bought it with 4000 €. It was about 3000 € cheaper than same mileage Superbs in Finland, so I was satisfied with my purchase. Soon I started to notice it had lots of small flaws: heated seats did not work, it did not warm in the wintertime, rear wheels did not engage at all and cabin is quite noisy. Other than that I like Superb a lot! There's room for take my whole family and all the stuff that we need while being 4 weeks away from home! I changed DSG thermostat and it seemed to fix the warm up issue. Then i changed Haldex oil and filter fixing the rear wheel drive. Now I have plans to restore Superbs old glory. At the time I'm planing to do follow: Fix heated seats (still no idea how..). Cover the cabin floor and doors with noise insulation mat. Remove all the rust and redo the body rust protection coating. Install MIB STD2 (I just received used unit from 2015 Skoda Yeti). Wish me luck. I hope to afford an electric vehicle in next 5 years or so, but until then I'll be fixing my Superb.
  5. You have answered my question. Thanks
  6. Recently just bought my second Skoda ... because the first one impressed me that much! 😎 2014 Superb Tour de France 4x4 2018 Kodiaq Edition 190PS DSG 4X4 (5 seater) Most of my cars have been VAG over the last few years but it seems that the balance of quality/price of Skoda has drawn me away from Audi and VW. I already have a couple of questions ... but I'll go find the correct place to ask πŸ˜‰

  9. What skomaz said. If you didn't notice a strong smell of petrol when you mopped it out then it's just water.
  10. I actually have bits and pieces but not the entire thing - one of the few cars I don't have all the tech info, which bothers me ... I can swap with lots of other literature 😁 EDIT: I stand corrected, I have a "Workshop Manual Superb III 2015 ➀ General body repairs, interior Edition 05.2018" File D4B80536B1A which is a 163 page PDF, 19.2Mb I would love Engine/Suspension sections, if available ... πŸ₯°
  11. Are you sure it's external surface damage ? Modern windscreens are all tinted and the additives used to produce the tint seem to age and produce a light scattering effect (Oh for the days when simple clear glass was used - last time I had truly clear glass was a 2003 Astra). If this is the case then a new windscreen is the only answer. If, however, it is actually fine external damage then it MAY be possible to polish it out. I have successfully polished out a couple of fine scratches (caused by an incompetent valet at a dealer saleroom) on the windscreen of a Golf using a felt wheel and cerium oxide with a Dremel type tool so I know polishing CAN work in some cases. In my case these were only localised scratches - not a whole windscreen ! And even then it was a laborious process. If you're convinced it's external then it could be worth asking a decent bodyshop or a windscreen specialist if they are able to sort it with a cerium oxide buffing. Like you I am reluctant to go for a replacement windscreen unless it can't be avoided - I've had a couple occasions over the years when the muppets have damaged the paintwork or the new windscreen has leaked.

  13. I don’t understand why a supermini like the Fabia which has an official top speed in the vicinity of 200 km/h and weighs approximately 1,150 kg requires V-91XL rated tires. In my opinion, these are excessive specifications who inevitably call for a reinforced carcass and rubber compound, resulting in a "stiffer" tire. An 88-H rating tire would be technically more logical and appropriate for a supermini hatchback. After all, the same car when equipped with 15-inch wheels in its base trim levels, comes with 88-H rated tires. I believe that the V-91XL specification, combined with the excessively high recommended tire pressure, leads to a less comfortable ride on poor-quality roads than the car is otherwise capable of delivering. Skoda could at least allow for an alternative speed/load rating for those who prioritize comfort. However, for the sake of standardization and economies of scale, they likely opted for a single specification for all 16-inch wheelsβ€”one that also covers other, heavier or more powerful models.
  14. That looks pretty typical. The fluid is just water from when it rains - there is a small drain hole at the base of the black plastic surround that allows any that collects to run down through a tube to the wheel arch (you can just about see it in your picture). That will be blocked so just push some strimmer wire or similar through it gently to clear and it'll run away.
  15. The car will be going to IAA Auctions up north. Spec of the car is attached. You may be able to determine why i was a bit upset at the write off. If anyone is interested in buying it to repair I'd be happy to talk to them. Reg number began with BG21.
  16. I So Ive been trying to do this job for 3 days now and it and now it's really frustrating me (getting it back in) and that’s a understatement , wiper linkage removal yes i its been the bayne of my life for over a week in all its been painful as well, the only video on YouTube is Fabia and the looks totally different, now i read on here before got started that they removed the firewall but i can only get at one fastener so i know you shouldn’t but i have been bending some parts to get the other out, but i cant get it back in and believe me Ive tried, why did they not put the bolts trough side , any way I'm hoping someone can help me out, thank you in anticipation 2015 Ε koda Rapid Spaceback SE Tech (NH1) with a 1.6 TDI diesel engine (engine code CXMA), producing 115 PS (85 kW). It has a 1,598 cc engine, a 5-speed manual gearbox

  19. The 6R0615311 OEM part number that the Fabia MK2 1.4TSI VRS uses for the "left cover plate for 288mm front brake disc", is also listed against the early 256mm front brakes...so "cover plates for 256mm front brake discs" will sometimes fit the 288mm front brake discs. The below 275mm outside diameter backing plate is sold to replace 6R0615311 and two other OEM part numbers. 6R0615311 is the only OEM part number listed for the Fabia MK2 1.4TSI VRS front brakes, ie. build code 1ZD. The below 313mm outside diameter backing plate is sold to replace 6R0615311D and no other OEM part numbers, so should be an exact match to 6R0615311D. This demonstrates that the cover plates for the 288mm front brake discs don't always have a bigger outside diameter than the cover plates used for the 256mm front brake discs. VAN WEZEL 5829371 Brake disc backing plate Front Axle Left (275mm outside diameter) (fits 256mm, 288mm, and 310mm/312mm front brakes) 6R0615311 6R0615311A ...and one other OEM part number https://www.autodoc.co.uk/van-wezel/13789403#brake-disc-backing-plate VAN WEZEL 5814371 Brake disc backing plate Front Axle Left (280mm outside diameter) (fits 256mm front brakes) 6R0615311C https://www.autodoc.co.uk/van-wezel/19151662 VAN WEZEL 7629371 Brake disc backing plate Front Axle Left (313mm outside diameter) (fits 288mm front brakes) 6R0615311D https://www.autodoc.co.uk/van-wezel/20472995 Out of the two below left cover plates, I would probably go for the 6R0615311 cover plate because that was fitted to the Fabia MK2 VRS. 6R9615311 was also used on the VW Polo MK4 GTI. The VW Polo MK4 GTI had 310mm/312mm front brakes (build code 1LJ). As well as being listed against 6R0615311, the above Van Wezel 5829371 is also listed against 6R0615311A. 6R0615311A is the only left cover plate used on the VW Up!, so includes both this car's 256mm and 288mm front brakes. 6R0615311A is the only left cover plate used on the Skoda Citigo, ie. it's 256mm front brakes. To get the OEM part number for the right side, just add one to the left side OEM part number, ie. 6R0615311 becomes 6R0615312 and 6R0615311D becomes 6R0615312D. 288mm front brakes (build code 1ZC) 6R0615311 Cover plate for brake disc D >> - 26.05.2014 left 6R0615311D Cover plate for brake disc D - 26.05.2014>> left 288mm front brakes (build code 1ZD) (Fabia MK2 VRS front brakes) 6R0615311 Cover plate for brake disc left 310mm/312mm front brakes (build code 1LJ) (VW Polo MK4 GTI) 6R0615311A Cover plate for brake disc
  20. I all of a sudden can't start my 2014 Octavia without pushing the button in with the key. I swapped batteries in both fobs just a month ago, but did it again just to be sure. Car just says key not found. It's like the receiver just isn't working. VCDS has no fault codes related to this. Is this module known to fail? Seems weird to me. Any tips in fixing this is greatly appreciated.
  21. Just gone the same way and swapped my 2024 Superb 2.0TSi L&K for a 2026 Enyaq VRS
  22. Hi all, I have a 2021 Octavia MKIV 1.5 TSI e-TEC (petrol, DSG). Today I opened the fuel flap to refuel and found some liquid in the filler well around the neck (photo attached). I wiped it away before checking whether it was water or petrol, so I can’t say for sure. There was no strong petrol smell, but I’d like to rule out a problem. I’d also like to check whether the opening is normal. As far as I can tell, there’s no silver flap or valve visible inside the neck. Should there be one? Could an owner with the same model post a photo of their filler neck with the cap off so I can compare? A few specifics that would help me: Does your filler neck have a flap or valve inside, and what does it look like? Has anyone had fluid pooling in this area, and was it fuel or water? What was the cause? If you’ve had this repaired, was it covered by warranty, and what was the fix? Extra details: the car hasn’t been washed since the last refuel, and I haven’t noticed any smell or drips under the car. Thanks in advance!
  23. Threads running for the past few years in various sections on Briskoda. Key word search briskoda Takata airbags.
  24. The front camera isn't working, most likely because I bumped into an invisible bollard πŸ™„ Is there a way of getting to the camera so I can try to fix it before going to an expensive garage. Ty Nicky.
  25. I am in the same boat - need a freshen up for my vRS estate, 79K miles and a leaking N/S damper 70% motorway use and like to push on in the other 20% What did you go for in the finish (if you have?) The B4's?
  26. 2003 1.4 TDI Fabia Break - 343000kms - it was the brake light switch in my case. I had the flashing glow plug light yesterday morning, put my OBDEleven on the case, which was a fail because the scantool wont communicate with my de-Googled phone....OBDEleven App wants Google Play Services, I loathe Google and won't have it on my phone. I got my six year old son to have a look behind the car, he reported no brake lights. I went straight to the switch, replaced it, brake lights work and glow plug light gone. Now to locate and dig out my old 2011 Samsung whatever, load the OBD Eleven app, and set it aside only for use with the scantool. Or maybe here is at last a use case for my old 2012 Asus Nexus 7 tablet...useless for anything since Android Lollipop update...maybe it becomes dedicated to the scantool? Your mileage may vary but it's worth a quick brake light check first if the glow plug light begins flashing at you......
  27. And the cover plates for the discs.
  28. Thank you, a lot of info that my old brain has to work with. Yes it was a kit I bought for the F2 VRS, from www.4yourdrive.de with 310mm discs, calipers and pads. So I I thought to mount the 288mm discs/calipers on the 1.2/12V. So I only need to buy a pair off steering knuckles/wheel bearing housings to mount on the 1.2.
  29. Hi all, Been awhile. Hope everyone is keeping well. I was wondering if anyone knew, would a 'pump learn' be required on a 2016 Superb 280 after a Haldex motor pump replacement or is there an alternative method or practice to ascertain that the rear coupling is receiving ample hydraulic pressure to engage 4wd correctly? Many thanks,

  31. Not sure on the superb but check front carpets and underfelt in case its the heater matrix. Trying to find a small leak can be tricky as it quite often drys up when engine warm. Look for dry crystal deposits etc epsecially around expansion tank in case its the tank cap seal thats failing. Alasdair
