Wheetabix..... I mean have you tried removing it from a bowl after its soaked the milk in then dried? I’m thinking if they can find a way to put that in sealant, then they really have got a winning product.

I would just like to say a big thank you to langers2k for helping me out with the settings for my puddle lights. Very much appreciated for your time and effort. Cheers
  4. That's only valid for vehicles with stop-start technology. Looking at the scan, I'm pretty sure this Yeti doesn't have stop-start so it's both impossible and not necessary to recode after battery replacement
  5. I would never judge another's purchase decision as strange, without knowledge of the decision making process, you may see it as a downgrade, I don't, hence my purchase. Purchase decisions are not only objective, but subjective too. I also run a citigo and new fiat ducato campervan. all bought for differing reasons. As for your assertion of the Kamiq being, relatively, a tiny tin can, shows a real lack of appreciation of the car itself. I've run 6 Superbs over the past ten years, great cars, but then I did long distance stuff, carrying a lot of gear, I find the Kamiq a much more pleasant and responsive car than the Karoq, and very Golf like to drive ( hardly a tin can I feel). If you judge cars by square footage of sheet metal as the overriding criteria, I think it's a flawed process. Horses for courses, as they say, and each to his/ her own. over the years I've driven most stuff, from basic ( austin 1100/ ford escort) to exotic ( Citroen SM/ Maserati's) low and high performance. Apart from a WartburgKnight with Zero brakes, I've learned to appreciate what makes a car, but don't criticise other's choices as they are personal decisions!
  6. Strange I use cheap one's (4 for £2) and get about a 8 months out of them, but I have keyless entry, so I expect it to be shorter on battery life. When you install a battery use gloves and make sure that you keep it a grease free as possible, finger grease can be detrimental to the life of all sorts of things.
  7. Use CR2032 replacements instead of CR2025... I had exactly the same issue - the 2032's are marginally bigger and seem to fit better. They are a tighter fit but the key cover will go back on fine. However, I have found that whilst the first set lasted about six years all subsequent sets only seem to last for six months or so (in both my keys) - no idea why this should be. Always use decent Duracell replacements...
  8. I think it's these two screws to start with, then the painted outer case should come off. Just be careful of the plastic clips near each screw.
  9. I didn't to be honest, apologies if it did. I can only go off the information provided by the company that sold the tuning box.
  10. Hi everyone, A couple of pics after collection from the dealer:
  11. hello again to all contributers . Just a final post to let members know I solved my problems , it was caused by an insulation piercing connector on the earth line to the towbar which had broken the wire , thank you to all who took the time to offer advice.
  12. just had to go check, yes it does. Only driven 2800 miles so far though. Wwas tempted to fit cross climates but honestly don't know how long I will keep this once the Enyaq is out
  13. I'd only buy direct from them. Besides, the device by itself is only £39.99 (cheaper than your link). The pro option is only necessary if you need features that it unlocks - you may find it's cheaper in the app rather than purchasing a code online. https://obdeleven.com/en/home/10-obdeleven-device-0725423005103.html

Picked up my new Kamiq on Friday morning. Although I haven’t had the chance to go for a long drive, initial observations and impressions are very positive. Whilst not as tall as my previous Yeti, the Kamiq gives excellent all round vision and does feel like a proper SUV. As previously stated, my last car was an Audi Q2 1.0 TFSI Stronic and is quite similar in many ways to the Kamiq. The engines and automatic gearboxes just feel the same although the road holding and ride of the Kamiq may not be quite refined as the Audi. However, this is just a first impression as I really need to drive the car on different roads and surfaces. Apart from ordering a spare wheel, privacy glass, and quartz grey metallic paint, the SE model has all the goodies that I require. Overall, the Kamiq is a modern looking car from the outside as well has having a bright and well equipped interior. Will give a further update after I’ve covered a few more miles.
  18. Problem solved! Fitted two CR2032 and never worked so well before. It's one of those things you don't put too much effort into, but with cars you need to be awake in every detail. Thank you for the suport guys!
  19. I will let you guys know once I get it checked. M

@Luckypants From here and published in the last couple of weeks since Skoda CZ announced the demise of the Citigo iV in the UK..
  21. Re-coding after a battery change would not have been required on a car 10 years old. I changed the battery on my 2010 Yeti without doing so, with no problems. It was only required when Stop/Start was introduced and a different construction battery was fitted, around 2015.
  22. Yes, and it's brilliant, again to judge by size is a flawed theory, LED tech ensures excellent visibility, and I drive a lot on unlit country roads. You don't have to imagine how something is if you try it first.
  23. ... I'm pretty sure you are right - the OP can check by seeing if they screw into the plastic shroud, if so they are the correct T10 screws. Alan
  24. The wishbone pinch bolt is single use so make sure you have a set of replacement nuts and bolts bought you start.
  25. I got some bilstein b3 springs for the rear of mine, bargain of £16 each from demon tweaks.
  26. Oh, and a Maxton designs front splitter.
  27. Many thanks, so far! Here are 02 photos of the inside of my mirror. I'm trying to follow Othen's instructions from his post dated 22 March 2018. I still cannot figure out which screws come out first. Can anyone further assist, please? Many thanks in advance!
  28. But mature to apologise and just as mature to accept it?

Hi All, Residing in Leigh, Lancs for the last 5 years since moving from Oxford when i retired early. I have just purchase an brand new Kamiq SE-L 1.5 DSG. I have owned 2 Skoda Octavia’s I the past. A VRs and a Laruin Klement. Joined Briskoda to listen and participate in topic relating to the new Kamiq.
  30. Needs must indeed! I spent ages doing it on a previous car and then tried lubing her up this time for the Superb 😉
  31. @Jim Reire I've replaced the brake fluid few weeks ago. You don't need to remove this strainer. On the contrary, the maintenance manual (downloaded from cardiagn.com) recommends to leave it the fluid tank. I personnally leftit in the tank and no problem with it. I've used a brake fluid bleeder kit like this one: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Hand-Brake-Fluid-Bleeder-Bleeding/dp/B076WZ8D6L/ref=sr_1_9?dchild=1&keywords=brake+fluid+bleeder+kit&qid=1599954258&sr=8-9 No issue. I've already released a tutorial on a french forum. I just need to translate it, if needed.
  32. @D402 Good tips have to be shared !

  34. Chrome rub strips off, and now sporting 30 or so additional horses thanks to the team @UNIT18 Automotive with @p-torque.co.uk on the software. 😎
  35. Thanks all. Changed DSG thermostat and all sorted, car heats up a lot quicker now. I tested the old one and it was still operating but wouldn’t fully close like the new one does. Only thing I will say is that I ordered a mahle original from autodoc which was more expensive and the one I received had the manufacturer and serial numbers filed off so I’m not convinced I didn’t get a cheaper copy...
  36. @fingerz Why not just ask what the 'Bulk' oil is that they have. It may be 'Quantum' / Fuchs', Comma or one of many other oils used in garages which is perfectly good considering that Castrol is nothing special and not VW UK's choice anymore. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/476057-vag-independent-uses-fusch-oils
  37. You can’t, which is just the way they like it. Just love the way we’re being told that the civil service is working really efficiently on reduced manning and shirking from home. Even I could be efficient if I could avoid actually doing something the computer could easily spit out without intervention if a humanoid.
  38. Push the top left corner in, pull from the bottom right, it is very strong don't worry. (this is for drivers side, top left is top nearest the car window, so top right if passenger side)
  39. This project came to the final stage. Tested callipers with ET45 wheels I have and failed. So I decided to put brand new Sparco Asseto Gara. J8xR18 ET35. So I will use the same tires. Sparco wheels are 2.3 Kg lighter than my current Extreme replicas Wheel design and high ET gives a lot of clearance for brake calipers When I waited new alloys my new light two peace CEIKA brake rotors arrive. I expected them in 2 month time , but CEIKA was unbelievably quick. New disk are 345x30x50 and more than 2Kg lighter that solid 340x30x50. Fully assembled Brembo calipers with brakepads , brackets and bolts weight 5kg sharp. "Standard" calipers from 340mm Skoda Superb brakes weight 9.3Kg Here is few more pictures of CEIKA beauty. Hopefully next photos will be of Installed alloys - brakes. Rotors are directional with cooling
  40. This is probably not what you’d want to hear but for context I’m trading in my 2010 diesel 2L (mk2 superb CR140SE well specced) on Monday with 87k miles for £2750 (autotrader valued it between 2600 trade and 3600 private) so is it really economical to consider spending that kind of amount on a 2011 car with similar mileage? i got hit with the clutch/gearbox failure at 56k miles a few years back that cost me £2000 and I seriously considered dumping the car at that point but couldn’t as I still had a loan outstanding at that point and the mileage was still reasonable but if it had happened now I don’t know if I could’ve justified that cost let alone the costs you are looking at. Just playing devils advocate here....
  41. Thought I'd share this one with you all, bit more editing on the picture than the first one. Love how mean the grill looks on this car
  42. UPDATE: Summary - Got a courtesy car until mine is repaired, new driver and passenger seat backs have been ordered and will be fitted in around 2 weeks when they're available. I went to the dealership I bought the car from, and explained the issue and the proof of movement. The technician took the car for a drive, and had no problem. He was a very slender guy, whereas I'm ~95kg. They said the only way they could get the seat to move was to sit in the seat and push against the steering wheel; and that due to the seat back not locking in place, the seat back will recline over time. I pointed out that that is still unacceptable and doesn't meet a specific European regulation. The dealership said they don't see an issue and if I wasn't satisfied, I should take it up with Skoda UK. I called Skoda UK Customer Services and they said they wouldn't do anything until I'd had a second opinion. I booked the car into a second dealership, they look one look at the sticker marks, and agreed it was unacceptable, but would need to book it in for three days to assess it. They couldn't do that for 2 weeks. You have the right to reject a vehicle in the first 6 months if there is an issue and you have given the retailer one opportunity to fix the issue. My 6 month window would have passed by the time the second dealership had assessed my car, so this morning I emailed the supplying dealership - stating I wish to reject the vehicle: 07:00 - Email from me to the sales manager. This included an exact excerpt from a European regulation that states the adjustment mechanisms must lock automatically. 08:45 - Email forwarded to the Dealership Principle. 09:00 - Dealership principle asked when I was available to discuss the issue. 10:00 - Discussed with Dealership Principle. He stated after my first visit, the dealership had raised the issue with Skoda Technical who had now responded to the complaint (TPI) stating some shims or spacers may be the issue, and the repair is to install a new seat back. Skoda has approved the warranty repair for a driver and passenger seat. I stated that I don't feel safe driving the vehicle as it is. Skoda UK had arranged for a hire car for me to use until my vehicle is repaired. 11:00 - Service team called to confirm the seats had been ordered. Drivers side is available, passenger side is on back order and will take between 10 and 14 days. 16:00 - Hire car delivered to the dealership and ready for me to collect. I'm impressed at how quick all of today's actions have occurred, but slightly disappointed that it required me to express my desire to reject the car to get the ball rolling, and not them contacting me once the TPI had been sent back to the dealership.
  43. 1st job.. 40mm H&R setup. No air suspension like the last Octavia i had.
  44. Right, four of a kind for the Green Machine today having remembered with about 0.15 of a mile to go and a parking space on left that was long enough to roll into and it to tick over just at end of it. First pic, then after a short wait....
  45. That's interesting! Whatever coding Carista are using must be available via OBDeleven as well, so I wonder if their app does the same or not? Or do we need someone to work out the Carista coding for us??
  46. For those needing a quick protection on paint or wheel damage 'Clear nail varnish' is dead handy. Much cheapness and available nearly everyplace. Same if you want a quick touch up of paint chips until you deal with them. Go to the nail varnish display and likely there is a near match there for much cheapness. My tool box (make up bag) has a large assortment of colours and shades back fro when the £1 shops would have 3 colours in a pack. Black's and Greys particularly handy.
  47. Gave the new car a wash and polish today. My process is probably fairly simple in comparison to others and all done by hand (although I do have a basic halfords machine polisher but the paint is in pretty good shape).
