  1. A pleasure meeting you @SashaGrace and I'll echo the comments of others - thanks for a very professional job of installing the camera, the bonus coding tweaks and tea. If you're thinking of installing a reversing camera etc I can't recommend her enough!
  2. Swapped out the second "basic plastic" key shell for a metal capped shell using the metal shell from aliexpress, link courtesy of @SashaGrace £9.56 30%OFF | MQB Car Intelligent Keyless Go Smart Remote Key 434Mhz with ID48 Chip for VW Passat B8 Magotan Superb A7 Variant 2014-2020 Year https://a.aliexpress.com/_mrh2g4t
  3. A bit small, but it's only an A4 printer! Virtual pedal, hmmm.....
  4. Had the pleasure of doing another camera on @JBD1974’s lovely Superb which is another one that is almost my cars twin!!

Just when I thought I had it straight in my mind! Reminds me of maths at school, many, many, many, years ago and square root of negative 1. No wonder I abandoned maths and embraced geology!
  6. Ok so Audi Q5 40TDI Quattro ‘70 plate as a replacement. Things are looking up! In no rush for a fix now!
  7. Really? The wiring diagrams specify both size and colour for every wire in the car and are updated for each model year. As of yet, I've not seen a discrepancy and certainly never seen a bunch of identical coloured wires like the OP's picture.

They were also using this type in 2010.... changed my mates cambelt and water-pump on his Audi S3 last week and these fell out the empty expansion tank.
  9. @Bap33 Here is the script I created for using with VCDScripter, containing the RGB values from @Hdsn555. It is pretty self-explanatory. You can manually set the values using VCDS but I didn't fancy doing it manually so used VCDScripter. Your car is only showing colours 1-10 at the moment because the 11-30 RGB values are all zero by default. Once you start changing these, you will get more colours. I think it needed the car to be switched off for say, 10 seconds, then back on again, for it to start showing more colours in the Settings page, once the changes were made. 30colours_v2.txt
  10. Collection day has finally come around and I’m super stoked to be a Superb owner at last! I only grabbed a couple of pics as I was hoping it would be light and dry when I got home to take more but it was neither. Here it is on the forecourt It’s a MY2020 Facelift Superb SportLine Plus 2.0 TDI 190 DSG with the following options Exclusive Dragon Green paint Supernova wheels Virtual Pedal Reverse cam with washer Spare wheel Virtual Cockpit All of which put the list price at pennies under £40,000 which is nuts considering what I paid and the paltry 6560 miles it had when I collected it this morning. The 260 mile trip home was fabulous and I look forward to a much quieter build thread compared to my Octy as it has so much spec there is little to do, but I’ll be sorting a few things for sure! Badges are a start and some cool lighting mods too. More soon
  11. That’s awesome!! I’ll let you know when the virtual pedal parts start arriving 😅
  12. . Does the car ask you first to make sure it's at a convenient time? I hope it does. Seems like a solution to a problem none of us really have. How on earth did we manage when we had to do things by ourselves? Things like steering, braking when something's in the way and turning the wipers on when it's raining. I dunno.
  13. Nicely done, and brave haha.
  14. How many miles a year do you actually do? Seems daft to swap for the slower, noisier and less refined engine when, apart from fuel, the remainder of running costs are exactly the same.
  15. On a 2018 car, I think you have a MIB2.5 Bolero so the logical option would be a MIB2.5 Amundsen to keep your screen. The MIB2.5 Columbus would need a new larger screen. You will also need to deal with component protection, FeC/SWaP codes and coding the replacement unit. Have you checked the map coverage for Albania as I believe there is only partial coverage of that region. I would suggest contacting @pab567 and see what your options are.
  16. It doesn’t charge off the engine - it’s a plug in hybrid not a Prius type. It will top up the battery from braking so how much it charges while driving is entirely dependant on driving style and the route, rather than being time based. Otherwise it needs to be plugged in to charge. (Apologies if I’ve misinterpreted the question).

I have just spent a full day trying to get the satnav to accept post codes! I even dropped in at a Skoda dealership and the nice salesman was astonished that he couldn't fix the problem saying his Skoda had a line under the QEWERTY keyboard with a post code icon and other clearer icons to make finding a destination easier. Having just read up on this forum as to other owners' comments I realise I have been wasting my time! The entire system is so unfriendly. I have reverted to good old googlemaps!
  18. Gimme ten minutes.
  19. Hi. Am I putting this the new tech in the right place in the lilac slot on the RHS of the pic below? Doesn't seem to work with Torque lite the free app? Should it automatically pair or am I doing something wrong? Thanks for your help.

Yes me. 4 years old. Not a chip, scuff, scratch or ding. I do know these guys on first name terms though. https://www.paintchiptechniques.co.uk/
  21. Hi guys, I’m giving some news about my Octavia's exhaust sound. I replaced the central resonator, and put in place a FOX resonator delete. Result: I spent only 117€ and I am very satisfied with the result! I read a few posts, concerning the resonator delete causing annoying "drones" around 2500rpm, but for me it's quite the opposite. I love that sound at 2500rpm, and I often accelerate between 2000-3000rpm, just to get it! Then DSG farts are much better too!!👌 At the same time, I mounted a turbo inlet pipe/hose, and a muffler delete, and it’s just perfect. Now I have a better turbo inlet sound, and a better exhaust sound, for less than 300€, not bad I think… Thank you all for the help, and have a nice weekend…

If your spare tyre doesn't have a slow leak, you will only lose about 3psi or 4psi every 6 months. Pump your spare up to 44psi, and after two years it should still have about 32psi. ie. pump up once every two years. The first time you check your spare tyre, check it after 3 months to make sure that the original 44psi has only gone down to about 40psi. If it's gone done to much less than this, then it has a slow leak. This could be caused by the rim being in poor condition (maybe corroded) where the tyre bead sits, or simply a screw/nail that has penetrated the tyre at some point.

At least they look more robust than the bags... Maybe the bag design was a cost saving exercise for manufacturer.

  25. Had the fitting done at a dealer, the same dealer I bought the part from. Cost £92 which I thought was worth the hassle free and I have a guarantee.
  26. A picture of the unit in the glovebox may be useful

When it does it are you close to a slowing car in front or has there been a parked car you are approaching or something coming the other way close to the central white line. If so it's the autonomous braking system kicking in and normal.
  28. @langers2k Thanks for the info. No, I've not set the auto driving mode colour changes, I had seen the 0-15 settings in the admap, but hadn't looked at them any further. Something else to play with
  29. Welcome to the Failed Octavia MK4 club.
  30. The archoil product solved my issue I thought it was snake oil as you do, but my garage suggested trying it as an alternative to a replacement turbo and it worked. The mr muscle treatment is better but not everyone is mechanically confident enough to take it on. https://www.powerenhancer.co.uk/archoil-ar6400-d-max-professional-diesel-engine-turbo-dpf-cat-cleaner-concentrate.html#tab-label-description
  31. You don’t say where you are located or whether your car is petrol or diesel, or 4x4 and has it been serviced at all. Are you carrying a full load all the time that your tyres are inflated to 2.7 bar, I run my 2.0 tsi at the recommended 2.4 bar. Certainly doesn’t sound normal,
  32. Difficult to decide from your description whether there’s a problem, or just a difference in ride quality from your Prius. (Although it sounds like a problem.) If it’s subtle, a dealer may just say “nothing found”. I suggest you somehow get a drive in a different Kodiaq, and see if the jitteriness is there.
  33. Not all Mk3 Octavias had an engine cover fitted at the factory, the 1.4 & 1.5 didn't so I fitted a VW one with a Skoda bonnet badge fitted to it.

You must mean 'sensor 2' as there is no 'bank 2' on 4 cylinder engines.

The later build cars seem to be better built. I know my car is not a UK spec, it's Irish with the Columbus D head unit and is set to imperial units. ACC sees the KPH speed signs and converts and slows to the correct speed in mph on the virtual cockpit. The in built sat nav shows the distance in miles but I prefer using Google Maps/Android Auto which thankfully show directions in the virtual cockpit which can be seen in the attached picture. I do feel sorry for the many left frustrated here and hope Skoda UK will resolve such issues.
  36. The touch screen is just a screen. Like a pc with monitor and computer. Have you confirmed that the screen has failed and that is the part you need? If so then £400 for labour is outrageous! Honestly takes 2 minutes to swap a screen out and there is no coding required. The cd player is the actual stereo unit. If that has failed then with a used part it's a bit more complex with component protection needed removing and then recoding to your car. Many have done this on here when upgrading to a later system. @pab567 is your man if this is needed.

Here are pics of my Petrol Blue 21 plate TSI 1.5 SEL DSG, picked it up a couple of weeks ago, exchanged for my low mileage 18 plate Emerald Green 1.0 TSI SEL DSG, not been far but hopefully soon a nice trip to the lake district.
  39. To @Shaunieboy - This is mine.. Exact model can say our fellow @JORDITO
  40. I’ve never really understood why so many car manufacturers do a mid-cycle refresh after 3-4 years which often seems to involve very little more than a re-design of the headlights and brake lights, bumper etc. It must cost them tens of millions of pounds in Engineering costs, tooling costs, logistics costs etc., just for a slightly different rear light cluster design! It seems completely pointless to me, and a big waste of money. I’d prefer that they spend those tens of millions of pounds giving their customers some really useful extra options free of charge. BMW seem to do these pointless headlight / rear light redesigns whenever they do their mid-cycle “LCI” refreshes.
  41. Been a wee while since I last updated this, but I haven't really done too much with the car besides driving it! I did change the oil using one of those electric pump thingies* last weekend since it was so sunny. I'd attach the small video on here directly, but uploading it to YouTube will do. *This is my best method since I don't really have the driveway space to jack the car up or anything of the sort.

Indeed. My point was that Skoda and lease companies appear to have different information. Obviously you would think the manufacturer would have the correct info.

I took mine into the local Skoda dealer (not the supplying dealer) and had them check whether the ambient rear LEDs were fitted, along with the heated front windscreen, boot release and dimming mirror which were all missing. This was at the request of Skoda/VAG customer services. Might be worth doing the same as once it’s on a report on Skoda headed invoice it’s hard to deny. Skoda said they’re listed as a pack by the parts section and it took a little while to identify the specific part - I’ve been told they will be retro fitted and they’re awaiting parts... I’ll keep you posted...
  44. Mine belonged to an older fellow who wasn't that great at manoeuvring, as can be seen from one of my wheel trims! Otherwise, I do think someone had a grudge against one of the other owners perhaps... This cracker is above the tailgate This one at the bottom of the glass... And also this one in front of the driver's headlight I'll snap a couple more in the other places should it be sunny tomorrow, not holding out too much hope though haha!
  45. Haha Mine used to be owned by an Asda worker, so it has a few trolley scratches from the car park. They are not too bad though.

Hi all, not sure about new tanks And silica bags however I’ve just fell foul to the silica bag issue. 66 plate 1.6 tdi diesel with 43 k on the clock . my issue are the crazy prices to fix a technical design fault . £650 to £850 I’ve been quoted for just have the system flushed! I’ve mentioned my cam belt and water are due soon so can I save any bringing in that forward . Nope, that’s another £600. now the egr valve might need changing . This is my first and at present last Skoda I’ll buy.

Another Race Blue Sportline, only the little engine though. I picked it up in Saturday and very happy so far.
