Just collected mine. VRS TSI DSG First time driving any form of auto. It took me about 30 seconds to get used to it. The dealer did warn me about emergency stops and automatically "stamping on the clutch" and having two feet on the brake. One slight annoyance, no engine cover and no sight of one either. Next plan is ceramic coating. I've a stash of CarPro here waiting to go on. That's my weekend taken.

Today I picked up mine. 15 months and 1 day of wait. The car feels really good with the sport suspension (its Sport trim, similar to Sportline in other countries). Software version: 1898.
  3. So I still don't have my car back 🥲 Apparently the repair bill is up around £10K I don't know how, but I've ended up with an M340i as a courtesy car, not complaining at all about that lol
  4. Sounds like a thermostat stuck open could well be the problem, being a purely mechanical device there will be no diagnostics covering it and hence no fault codes.
  5. I'd say you're right on the money actually. Seems to be decent reviews for longline exhausts, so must be a decent enough company. Got the exhaust sort of back together. Was a pig, and the absolute hack job of a backbox mount failed so had to hang it with zip ties after this video was taken. It's remarkably quiet to be honest, not complaining. Doesn't look pretty here but it's not dragging the ground so It'll do. Also started painting the wing.

Well, all versions of the AC use the external temperature as an input to gauge how much to heat or chill the ventilation air. If the ETG reads -20, the ventilation goes to full hot, and if it reads +40 the ventilation goes to full cold.
  7. I taped mine as well. Not leaked since.
  8. In short, yes. VCDS and OBDeleven are both just interfaces to the cars modules. Changing the coding or adaption channels with either interface will have the same result. Biggest thing to start with is understanding how to create a backup of the cars initial configuration. That way you can always see what you've done and how to get back
  9. After driving it home yesterday you don’t notice the module until it comes on. I’m very happy with the upgrade!
  10. And to add to that, most actuators can’t be bought on their own, I believe they come as a complete seat base
  11. Yes, that's the factory look. On darker colored cars the light module blends really well with the mirror and won't be noticed except when activated 👌
  12. I’m assuming he means the dcc solenoids/actuators. they aren’t sensors, they are valves and magnets to control the stiffness of the ride. they aren’t cheap and £300+vat is fairly standard pricing. a lot of people fit bilstien dcc shocks b4 and b6
  13. Biggest bang for your buck is a simple remap, nothing else required. If you're determined to wreck the clutch and flywheel then fit a PD150 turbo, FMIC and a remap. Seriously, these need very little to go a lot faster but do the brakes and suspension first.

Sorry Kingelk but don't know how to get your comment to appear for my reply. However, it is a DSG auto and the reason I want to see the gear because I've found in other cars, my Kia and before that a VW Jetta, as I use Cruise Control a hell of a lot that at say 49mph it can be in 6th but by increasing it to 50mph it will slip into 7th and save me money on petrol/diesel. Again sorry Sk0mk4 but your comment regarding Sport mode sounds good and i'll try it, thanks. And to everyone else - Once you've moved to DSG auto you'll never go back.... absolutely superb and better than other automatics. Also the Adaptive Cruise Control I was dreading as previously only had ordinary CC and thought how much fuel it would waste braking and slowing down. On my first motorway trip yesterday very pleasantly surprised - makes driving that little bit less hassle and by having a short distance and good observation so you don't get hemmed in and overtake in plenty of time, it doesn't need to slow you down much but is so good in a queue.
  15. 2021 Skoda Octavia fitted with Blind spot assistant Cross traffic alert We have previously fitted this car with a genuine reversing camera www.eastyorkshireretrofits.co.uk facebook.com/Eastyorkshireretrofits

  17. A few from today's visit to Attenborough nature reserve - I reckon they may have lost a digger!
  18. I'm in a similar vein to Gammy above, bought my 2016 2.0tdi in Sep 2019 for £9k with 103k on the clock. VWFS car from new which had 1 owner/driver and had been used by a photocopier company from Kent. Condition was pretty much spot on other a few stone chips and the odd mark. Water pump failed in June 2020 on it's 4th birthday - new cambelt and pump Electric boot struts packed up in March 2021 and I've not changed them yet - will probably swap them for some cheaper Chinese copies at some point Battery replaced this week £250!!! At the least the stop/start works again now Other than that, just a pair of front tyres and rear brake pads and oil/filters etc. Current mileage 137k
  19. This is exactly how the system would look and operate from the factory 🙂

I assume you mean DSG, but since you have another thread on automatic reliability I think it’s covered and this thread is unnecessary.
  21. @bigdavyrich still the same thing. What size engine are you looking at with a DSG. 2013 with a 2.0 TSI or TDI with have DQ250. Good, but oil changes should have been every 40,000 miles, documented.
  22. I have a 2012 1.6 tdi manual i was thinking of moving to a 2013 diesel automatic octavia or superb would you recommend this...
  23. It's had a diagnostic check and it's thrown up two faults, first being a Glow plug fault so will change those, Second fault came back as Side impact sensor....so they will investigate further to see if it that or as you mention a damaged driver door loom wiring, the vehicle is used as taxi and i'm in and out like a yo-yo to help the customer in and out, indeed had that same problem with the last superb I had. I'll keep you posted after it's had a proper investigation and repair.
  24. Air bag light might be down to damaged door loom wiring? The doors have airbag sensors in them. Damaged door loom wiring Is a common fault . Running a diagnostic scan should tell you which air bag sensor it is. I've had the airbag light come on for this reason.
  25. ouch! i feel for you. that can't be enjoyable....
  26. Thanks to varooom for firmware actualization.

  28. Yes, it's hidden under the alternator and routes the belt away from the crankshaft pulley and back to the coolant pump. Yep, these conversions usually used the pulley pictured on Joob's photo to wrap the belt around the extra pulley, but on the factory setup, it was used as additional support between the alternator and coolant pump, probably to reduce vibrations.
  29. It really is totally different from mine. Mine doesn't have air conditioning, it only has heating. This picture is not of my car, but it looks just like my car. -------------------------- Check the mine alternator/belt.
  30. had similar idea - mission impossible, memory seats have different actuators 😞

Common problem on VW Group cars. Manufacturer sets up camber to max of their spec for toe out to get best handling and sometimes they go a bit too far and this leads to inside tyre wear. When my Enyaq eventually arrives I am thinking about insisting they check wheel alignment before I accept.
  32. The connector is on the pump actuator, you will need to remove the upper timing belt cover to see it.
  33. Please make a picture of your software train to verify. Hold your menu/setup button down for 10 seconds to find out.
  34. You're right they are pretty good and I thought the same about the lines either side. I'd sooner have had the VC but with the pan roof it would have taken us the wrong side of the £40k luxury VED bracket so this is a good alternative
  35. Managed to get some pics last night of the new standard dash in its various settings. Worth noting too that the turn directions on the dash work for Apple Maps when it’s connected through Car Play
  36. @Steviedakotacould be anything see how many torx drivers @ApertureS found when he removed his dash

Phoenixboy, interestingly my long term average is very similar, on longer runs often over 60 and on a few occasions got 70 (according to the computer not a tank fill to fill)
  38. That looks like a long life exhaust... https://www.longlife.co.uk/ Or one from exhaustsuk http://exhaustsuk.com/index.php
  39. If this is the ea888 engine then your mechanic needs to be replaced.... They have a chain to start with The water pump is not a part of the camshaft drive system and has no bearing on it or a service interval Thermal management is the thermostat body full of valves and electronic solenoids, again this is bolted to the water pump and only needs changing if its leaking. Definitely sounds like they are having you on. *this is all on the basis its the ea888 engine. If you upload a photo of your engine we can let you know*

I am sadly old enough to remember driving 4 speed manuals, then 5 then 6... Overdrives etc.... I can not say I have never looked down or 'touched' the gearstick to check what gear it is in... It worse when you own cars with 5 gears and 6 gears, driving down the motorway in 5th before you remember it has 6!! As cars have got quieter its harder to 'hear' the gear you are in and as dull as it sounds cognitive failure (jumping between cars with different number of gears) happens.
  41. A few shots of Sheffield Park Gardens taken today.
  42. For a normal, smart charger, there will be no issues with charging the battery while still on the vehicle - important to follow the instruction that the Negative charger connector be attached to the metal tag on the firewall - NOT to the battery Negative post.
  43. Yeah, one of the first things I did on my VRS
  44. Rythmic rumbling could be saw tooth wear on rear tyres. If you pass your hand counter clockwise on rear right tyre / clockwise on rear left tyre, you’ll easily feel the saw tooth effect. Switching front / rear wheels should solve the problem within 500km. If the saw tooth is still a bit present, then switch left and right front wheels. It should disappear within another 500km. Just have a look on cardiagn.com and download official workshop manual, espacially « wheels & tyres » chapter, where the solution above is well discribed.
  45. So my understanding is... you're not cancelling. You're settling (paying off the loan). Cancelling would be saying that you no longer want the deal and pulling out without paying anything or taking delivery of a vehicle.
  46. Well that's not really the point now is it @Carlston. The point is to inform the viewer of the pictures about what they are looking at. And if the owner of the pictures (H&R) says the car in the pictures has tires with dimensions 225/40/18 then I am sure as hell not going to write something else. Show some appreciation for what I'm sharing instead of being such a downer....
  47. Some more pics after installation. What do You think?
  48. Let me explain in detsils process of rear Wings installation. I first removed heads of all 4 M6 bolts and made Spikes where there. I pressed the spoiler in place so the Spikes marked drilling points (Spikes where turned in minimally protruding). Drilled first 3mm,6mm and finally 7mm. Than we draw spoiler template on paper in place to get template for PPF. That drawing was scanned in A3 and than machine cut on 150micron PPF, it was placed in place and left to dry for several days. After that we did put double sided Wurth tape on the base of rear wing to gain amortisation, and sprayed With water mixed With baby shampoo to alow sliding od double sided Rape over PPF without distorsion of PPF before final Titanium bolt tighteming. Using PPF and double sided adhesive tape paint wont ne damaged after spoiler removal in future😇😇😇😇
