  1. A short guide to update your firmware (in my case from my superb iv from 0156 to 0306. First off all I want to thank @varooomfor navigating me too the right firmware files! Without him, I couldn't even start. Let's start with some pictures from my beauty: A superb IV Sportline Business with almost every option available. DCC, area view, columbus etc. Build in 2020. Initially it had the base firmware: 0156 (language is Dutch btw) After one night, navigation was updated (no picture available but you can perhaps imagine). Slowness of the infotainment started me to look around and messaged Varooom for the last update available for my software train. It seemed that 0306 is the last one. A triple update to 0278 (via 238 , 268 --> 278) and the final update to 0306. Steps: - Create an USB C (or A with C adapter) including the triple update. Extract the base file and put it on a disk. Format as exfat. - Go to the service menu (columbus -> hold menu button) Press update: Notice the message: Keep your ignition on or use a battery charger. This update takes 45 minutes... in case of IV just enable the car and the battery will be charged during the process. Updating starts. It first reads the packages. After several restarts (don't worry) the sequence below goes up to three. (3 steps) after that you get a fresh reboot: Notice the difference in devicenr (onderdeelnummer). First step done. Up to the 0306, same procedure: - Prepare usb - Service menu - install update After this I have two issues: - Skoda connect doesn't work anymore - Navigation won't start According to several tpi's, a feature must be enabled. To be specific: 00071C00. I still have to do this. I have the code, pin etc but no odis available (step 1). After this, the navigation should start again. Skoda connect is a different story. I can't find out why it's not working (right now) already updated the OCU to 0143 (thanks Varooomer) but it is not working like it should. Shop is grey (no icon) and juridical stuff the same. Profile can load but not saved, annoying. Keep you posted about updates!
  2. Lovely to be out in the sunshine after work this evening.........
  3. Thanks all. I cannot find the 'mark as solution' button I have been prompted about so I will close it here. It seems that the 'shallow' version of the box (the A version of the part number used with the insert for the detachable hitch) is for 2WD and the deeper version designed for a battery is for 4WD. Thanks again for your help.
  4. It’s a collection of water on top of the black grill trim what has a tiny lip I won’t worry about it. Where it’s dripping from is all plastic. radiators and windscreen washer bottle are set back
  5. Apparently Tesla are adding a forth shift at Berlin and are aiming to hit 10,000 cars a week, gearing for the model 2 and it's taller sister car. Quite simply it appears Tesla intend to ramp up at such a rate which will decimate opposition unless the can move as quickly.
  6. From today. I gave it a top-up coat of wax and wheel clean. Even though I've had it years I still love to drive it and it runs really well still. 100% happy. Maybe if I tried the latest Fabia I'd want to 'upgrade' so it's probably best I don't ☺️
  7. What is your infotainment system (modelu number and software version) and what is your phone (model and OS version) and what do you meany by connecting phone with the system?
  8. @Kiwiana - I think that both @ColinD and @AnnoyingPentium have plausible theories, most likely near the fuel tank either way.

Green is low pressure 0.3-0.6 bar 04L 919 081 Brown is higher pressure 2.5-3.2 bar 04L 919 081 B Another nice illustration of how the letter suffix isn't just a 'revision level'. Can be a functionally different part, and often is.
  10. Search on instagram @octaviars245_dave He has stage 3
  11. Might just need a full and proper service (of the whole car) and internal clean of air and fuel to the engine, engine oil & filter, and a few blowout runs with a couple of tanks of V-Power, depends on it's previous history and use. Have you plugged in a suitable level scan tool to see what shows up, though do not just rely on that. More details are required (as bigjohn has posted).
  12. How empty is the fuel tank? I don't have this problem with my Superb (only a 1.4tsi) but in the past with a fastish car (Peugeot 306 gti-6) going up a local steep hill giving it a few beans if your petrol tank was low it would "hold back" at the steep bits. The combination of going uphill and accelerating somewhat (ahem) was causing fuel starvation.

Connect a diagnostic tool (VCDS, VCP< OBD Eleven, ODIS) and scan the car for error. It might also be a known software issue with KESSY controller, I had the same, firmware upgrade solved it.
  14. Thank you! (and thank you for your many helpful contributions on the superb suspension threads which have been very helpful to get my head round it all!)
  15. Thanks! Update done, device is still working
  16. I flagged for the Mods the repeats in the DSG thread so they can edit them.
  17. £30 is a good price because they cost about £133 new, and that's the Czech price so maybe a little more in the UK. I can see the 4-digit date code on the sidewall of the tyre which shows that it was manufactured in 2017. So it's 6 years old. It's a 205/55R16 tyre fitted to a 6.5Jx16 ET46 5/112 57.1 steel rim, and would be ideal for use on an Octavia MK3 even as a regular tyre if the others fitted to the car were also 205/55R16. Even the ET46 offset is correct for the Octavia MK3, as it's actually an Octavia MK3 wheel that Skoda dealers have repurposed as a spare wheel for the Superb MK3. The only Octavia MK3 models that it wouldn't fit are the VRS models that use the big front 340x30mm brake discs, as those need at least 17" rims to clear the front brake calipers. The outside diameter of a 205/55R16 tyre is about 5% smaller than the standard Superb MK3 tyre sizes. I doubt that's a good idea on 4x4 models, because the 205/55R16 tyre would be rotating about 5% faster than the other wheels on the car. However, Skoda dealers do appear to have been selling this size as a spare for the Octavia MK3 and the Superb MK3. It makes more sense to use this spare wheel on the Octavia MK3 rather than the Superb MK3. Complete spare wheel 16" Designed for: OCTAVIA III, SUPERB III. https://eshop.skoda-auto.cz/en_CZ/complete-spare-wheel-16/p/5E0601011J
  18. Thanks @Breezy_Pete it begins to make some sense now. I imagine that service engineers need to go on a course to get this stuff right so I'm limping through it all.
  19. Thanks for the write up of this for others to follow. I am sure there are others out there on older versions, and looking for an upgrade path. I look forward to the next chapter, of getting the activation code input 🤝

If you can burn a CD-R, then I can supply you the update or @pab567 but we do need to know what version of the firmware you have now. You will be best if you can pop the head unit out and get a picture of the label on the top.
  21. Fully recharge the battery with a charger that can go low and slow as possible, 2 or 3 amp charging better than 4 or 6 amp but will take a lot longer. The day after the full charging check the battery for (state of) charge and if possible state of health, a poor battery could hinder your recommissioning whereas a good battery in good state of charge and health will possibly speed up recommissioning and help with keeping the whole car going well.

I'd say so, particularly when it's attached to a large hunk of cast metal.
  23. Had this with a Punto, was a split breather hose IIRC.
  24. Yes, D.FYLAKTOS, that's the one. You are so fortunate in Greece in not having your local councils speading thousand of tons of salt on the roads in winter - in the UK that was a killer of the splendid Favorits due to body corrosion, and now it is so sad to see the Felicias heading in the same direction over here. [I'm very lucky to have a couple of good 'survivors' of this]. Thank you for keeping your Felicia on the road, well done! However, my comments to TheFelicaHacker above about the prohibitive cost of of shipping stuff from the UK to Greece remain relevant. I have been impressed by the continuing ability of suppliers in Germany etc. to provide a very good range aftermarket parts for Favorits / Felicias etc. but 'big' items seem to be a problem now. So - whilst I'm here - I've been trying to find a replacement middle exhaust section for my Felicia estate for a long time now but the [very cheap!] German suppliers have long been mysteriously 'out of stock' for this one, or simply refuse to ship 'big' items to the UK anymore. I've only been quoted an eyewatering price for a new one in the UK ..... so ... does anyone here have a serviceable used one within reasonable collection distance from Oxfordshire??
  25. Eliminating obvious of bringing fuel in with you on your feet etc… given difference with a slope, my gut is thinking small leak from something. Definitely get it checked at the service. Of course they will likely say nothing to be found, I’d say it’s unusual, one clip missing and water aka fuel always finds a way.
  26. The chart i put up shows when compared with the total chart that 1/4 of the Peugeot 208's sold / registered in February were electric. VW Group are using the partner companies (Including MG / SAIC) to have the Average Fleet emissions needed to save them being fined. TESLA are very much part of the kidology helping their partners JLR. So much of sales / registrations are kidology for the EU & the UK.
  27. Another Geely-Volvo brand like Polestar but hopefully a much cheaper, like a Skoda is to VAG. Volvo are worried, according to the Electric Viking, that even the Swedish market is getting dominated by Tesla so they need a cheaper brand to complete without completely devaluing the Polestar and Volvo premium brands. The Chinese invasion, not just of Chinese Teslas but numerous other Chinese Brands, complementing MG's pathfinder advanced in to the UK market, brushing aside the 10% customs duty like it was not there, the EU made cars with batteries get tariff suspension to match the UK LEAFs etc going to the EU. EV new prices anticipated to fall another 10% despite the 10% inflation, and more, on many other things. Lithium prices down by half, new battery tech starting to emerge and intense competition bringing prices down so that ICE cars look even worse value across the period of operation 3 or 4 years.
  28. I think the list above does combine drive trains but there are separate list for different power trains but the Model Y is king overall. Germany is now producing 4,000 Model Ys a week now they have added the third shift and achieving full production efficiency with 24 hour operation, this will destroy many of the European HQ based manufacturer who do not compete on value, safety, range and network of course. Tesla, I have heard reported, have continued to add to their pick up at the port system, at Southampton and other European ports. Certainly a way of getting the numbers up faster and cut out some dealer costs. Good idea when one thinks of it. Why stack a few cars on a lorry when they can be driven ? I can think of the fun a games as I was customs officer for Portbury Docks Bristols that had tens of thousand of car in the customs WH and it was hard enough to keep tabs then without drib and drabs going out through the gates. Below a picture of the beautiful Horizon terminal in Southampton which is usually the starting point for my cruise ship voyages. Hope some time soon to be picking up a Tesla under a nice salary sacrifice scheme which saves a few hundred quid a month in payments.
  29. Great to see BEV almost double PHEV sales. Yesterday afternoon, when I got home, I managed to recharge 1-2% using completely free excess solar. But only 1.4 kWh went into the battery while 2.3 kWh is pulled by the charger. This is why car chargers require minimum charge rate is 5 Amps. Tesla web API can go down to 1 Amp, I was charging at ~3 Amps yesterday. Energy monitor says less than 0.1 kWh was consumed from grid and only 0.3 kWh "escaped" into the grid during that 3 hour period. Looking forward to V2H with Leaf. The purpose built Chademo inverter would consume far less and its resolution is 40w. On days like this, we can literally drive and live on sunshine for free. (yes, installation cost is considered, I've broken even about now after 8 years)
  30. That would b the Driver Profile. All good. It's not a competition with points. We're all here to learn and help.
  31. Europe wide sales or first registrations are just that. Who has cars built, who are selling them new to customers / fleets / utility companies and government agencies or to their own companies and then they are sold used. Lots of simpler cars with less chips and built cheaply not in the EU or EU countries not using the Euro. Cars bought with individuals own cash money, borrowed money is very different from leased cars and the manufacturers being the ones financing the lease company. PS quite a lot of Dacia Spring showing as sold in February. Maybe all they can built are flying off the shelf. Maybe the same with other of the BEV or PHEV if only being built in lower volumes. The manufacturers need them first registered for their Fleet average emissions in the EU and then UK fleet averaged. They do not want ones built and sitting unregistered.
  32. Hello and welcome Kiwiana Gotta love a greyhound 😍 ....... and (cough) an Octavia of course 🙄 Gaz
  33. The Racing and the DOT 5.1 brake fluids in a ''normal'' car must be replaced every 2 years, the DOT 4 can last 3 years. ''hygroscopic'' is the key word.
  34. Does that list combine different drivetrains? Pug 208 and 2008 have electric versions. Keep in mind Model Y only had 1 shipment in Feb 2022 for UK, so percentage change is not a reliable figure. I think it's the VAT on top of flat charging tariff that is hampering the value aspect of public charging EV ownership. If you do anywhere near average miles and if post can come from home, it's worth switching to likes of Octopus Go at 12p/kWh, or Intelligent at 10p/kWh if have compatible hardware.
  35. I hardly ever use it. Probably useful if you're transporting a load of eggs and don't want to make an omlette en route.
  36. @KevinmajYes the Extended Warranty will be invalidated if you remap the car. Read the T&C's and exclusions. That will be non factory factory original or factory approved engine management / hardware or software. SKODA_Warranty_Terms_November_2021 (1).pdf VWFS_11815379_SKODA_AUW_Booklet_0922E (1).pdf
  37. You miss CD’s? I miss my Nakamichi TD1200 Cassette Deck!
  38. thanks, mate, appreciate it!
  39. Those r ur Driving Profiles, not DCC modes. DCC only has Comfort / Normal / Sport modes.
  40. Start looking for an independant workshop, ask if they have ODIS and can remove CP from your part.
  41. It happened to me few years ago, the screws of the hose clamps were a little bit ''loose'' and more air was coming into the throttle. It's not something easy to see, especially in Cold weather there is a tiny material delation.
  42. As above, only the TDi tends to get the under bonnet cover as it's purpose is sound deadening. I think the part number is 5E0863831A. Both your picture show the 'rear dust cover' is fitted. The clips are just in different places as the Kodiaq has a larger lip to hide them under

hi everybody finally got the car up and running no silly or strange noises plug in vag com read all the codes mostly where i hoping the battery was disconnected the only one that has thrown me is low oil pressure switch malfunction i understand there is 2 on my car engine code cxxb is so where is it located and is it a green one
  44. HGF, everything else is denial I'm afraid.
  45. I thought the I'd uploaded this! I took ownership in July last year. So far I have nothing to moan about. 🤞👍
  46. And quite literally a pile of stone 🤷‍♂️
  47. Sorry no idea on dimensions, (and they don't even list part number for a battery that could be cross referenced) A part number of 5L6 801 287 - Four-wheel drive 5L6 801 287 A - Front-wheel drive Is as much as I can locate https://www.lllparts.co.uk/catalogs/skoda/CZ Illustration should be 803-050 (8 being Body) when you look You didn't add any details on year to your post, or why you need the dimension (curious on the latter)
