  2. I have my Kodiaq back from the dealers. After an 8hr software update that dealt with the map issue and the 12v PHEV discharge issue the vehicle is back! The maps on the dashboard are now working!
  3. My daughter passed her test in my other Fabia so no need for speed change now. Shouldn't have got so obsessed in trying to correct this. Upside I have found a forum where people are knowledgeable and seek to help
  4. Over on Arran. Hanging around the shore and snapping whatever. Using my 100/500 with a 1.4 tele converter. A little short still.

Hello everyone! My name is Martynas Jasas, I’m from Lithuania 🇱🇹, and I’m very proud to be the owner of a truly rare Škoda – the Octavia vRS WRC Limited Edition #51 of 100. My car was originally delivered to the UAE in 2002. It’s in excellent shape, painted in Candy White, with VIN TMBBJ41U928******, and still has the numbered interior plaque (51/100). I joined Briskoda to connect with other owners of this limited edition model. I’ve read that some of you know about cars like #18 (Slovakia), #28, #32, #42 (Czech Republic) – if you’re out there, I’d love to chat! Let’s preserve the legacy of this unique model together. Best regards, Martynas Jasas 📍 Lithuania
  6. It happened to me again a couple of weeks back but resolved itself fairly quickly. However, the fact remains that this '24 plate car has failed to start more times in 4 months than all of my previous cars added together over the last 25 years or so. The retailer has not responded to me once in the almost 8 weeks since I reported that the problem had been identified by my local dealership. Skoda Customer Service have found it similarly impossible to get any sense out of them. The retailer has just come back with the same excuse they used to Skoda more than 6 weeks ago - that they're waiting for information which the other dealership located in 1 hour. They clearly have no interest in repairing or replacing the vehicle. My theory is the retailer is trying to run down the clock, knowing my statutory right reduced from 6 months of ownership onwards. Totally ignoring the Consumer Rights Act. For that reason alone, I'm taking it to the Motor Ombudsman. Not hopeful it will make any difference but it should at least force the seller to engage.
  7. It seems to me that the weather conditions are irrelevant. I’m told it’s a software issue where some of the “modules” don’t shut down properly and so when you go to start the engine the “computer says no”! As with all IT issues, switch it off, lock it and start again!! They have no fix for it so basically they are selling brand new cars with a known issue without telling the customer. They are relying on customers just putting up with it as a minor irritation. If it happens when you really need a quick exit it really isn’t a minor irritation. I have been in discussion with Škoda Customer service and my dealer for the last 6 months and I’m now moving to a refusal of the car as it’s not fit for purpose. A great shame because apart from this issue I think the car’s great!
  8. Collecting my new Skoda Superb today from RRG Rochdale. The 265 BHP hatch in cobalt blue in L&K trim. Swapping my Kia Stinger 3.3 (great car just bored)
  9. It’s been a great car for us! I’ve got it advertised on Autotrader for £1475 but I’ve been a member on here for 15 years and I’ve had my fair share of good deals over the years so it’s time to give something back to the forum.
  10. Ryan this is from an A3 but shows what I mean. I suppose they might have had foam in but I don't think so as when they were squeezed they didn't spring back to shape though that could also suggest the foam, if there was any, had dried out too much.
  11. Done one better re: door cards, Lee. Two years ago I stripped a bronze 51 plate Elegance, which gave up a set of Elegance door cards, and looms for electric rear windows. I bought a set of seats to match as well. Driver's set is a bit knackered but it'll do for now! 😁
  12. Diesel under tray in mine didn't have sponge and it was on from new. Plastic air filled cube looking things. Get some vRS door cards fitted mate 👍
  13. Nearly a month. It's in bits, many many bits. Lots going on here, I'll do a proper write up in time once it is all done, but here's how it's standing at the moment in the care of my mate.

Hi I'm SJx and I've just registered an account with BriŠkoda.net I drive a 2016 Octavia 1.6 Diesel Estate. Have had it since November 2022 and am still lovin it! My grand-daughter had given the car the Name Jerry. I think it suits. In fact, this is not my first introduction to Škoda. I worked in Banja Luka in Bosnia in 2002-2003 and for that time had a Saloon Octavia as company car. Looking forward to exchanging thoughts, ideas, experiences with others on the blog

I have the PHEV with canton... If you check the picture of the speaker position it says that the woofer for the phev is in the trunk. Here is a picture of mine. The woofer is on the left side.

That's why I asked the question specifically to those who have the above package. If you read the article it says subwoofer is mounted in the spare wheel. But given PHEV's do not have a spare wheel nor an area to accommodate one ( the battery prevents a spare wheel ) then obviously that Canton brochure cannot be true for the PHEV. Even the owners manual only refers to the sub in the spare wheel.
  17. Hello all. I have joined the forum after I found it while searching Google. I have owned my 2012 Superb Elegance for 10yrs and it has just turned 200 000 miles with no major issues, even still on the original clutch. It has been the best car we have owned in my 40yrs of motoring. Looking forward to being part of the forum. Pat.
  18. 'n Hi from half way down the east side 😀
  19. In that case then, it is an indication that the small internal Lithium Ion battery is failing, I had that happen before on my 512 dash cam, sourcing a new battery and fitting it will cure that issue. If you don't feel that is something that you could do, then Nextbase do offer that service for you.

Welcome to the community. Do you have so pictures of it? How did you purchase the vehicle, is there a story about it with it going to the UAE?
  21. There is an entire grill with black surround on eBay for £26 - maybe consider changing the whole thing?
  22. Try charging battery or replace it if its past it. I found on my Octavia that weird electronic symptoms/faults were happening due to the battery being past it and low in volts. It might cure the problem. Alasdair
  23. The problem for MY24 was a change in EU legislation for data protection which meant all VAG cars had OBD access to coding restricted. Not even the dealers can get in.

Not all fault codes clear automatically, in many cases you have to fix the problem and then clear the code. I've used VCDS for nearly 20 years, I like its comprehensive coverage of all the modules in a modern Skoda (not just the major ones), the free for life software upgrades and the great online support (if you have a genuine one not a clone or copy). No it's not cheap, but compare it to the cost of a diagnostic visit to a dealer and it doesn't look so bad.
  25. For several days the App has still been recording my trips but when I click on the trip to see the detail the App crashes back to iOS?
  26. Yeah, I only discovered that after I’d already ordered the adapter 🥲
  27. The VWAG towbar control module is a VWAG towbar control module, the westfalia towbar kits include a different module that imitates the genuine module (usually the wrong module, for MQB not MQBevo which prevents SVM being possible) The towbars have westfalia branding as well as VWAG branding. UNECE cars can now have towbars installed, we’ve done a few. There are a few that can’t due to the build date, and a few that can’t without having software updates performed first If you send us a message with your reg or VIN we can look into it for you.
  28. Wow, I noticed that even though the Connect Lite app shows a discontinuation screen when opened, it still runs and records my trips. I am sure of this because while driving, the notification area on my android phone shows that Connect Lite app is tracking my trip and shows how many kilometers travelled since the recording starts, as normal. I hope someone can come up with an apk that doesnt connect to skoda server. It is more that enough for me to save my trips and fuel stops to my phone. I don't need no quick service reservation or such.
  29. Had another look this evening but the caps I bought from Amazon, as linked by @Psicho1986, are too small. I've measured them at 50mm internal, which is what the genuine Skoda part number seems to be. Reading the reviews it seems to be a common problem. So not sure if it's variable quality or my Procyon wheels are odd. The latter seems unlikely.
  30. Can we move forward on this💪?
  31. Not a great pic half in the shade and not a particularly nice backdrop either. But it's a Chevvy Impala so thought I'd take a pic anyways.
  32. I see that Skoda now have started teasing the upcoming Epiq. Looks like that £17,000 that was the tease back when we were all younger is now £25,000 As usual with the VW Group they use their tame Publishers, Haymarket Media Group, Autocar / What car. Those that are selectively blind when Skoda launch vehicles with faults requiring visits again and again to dealers and will launch new ones while dealerships are giving appointment for warranty repairs, updates months away.
  33. 99% LCD is broken, disassemble and clean, if doesn't help buy second hand instrument cluster and replace LCD only. If you share VIN then I can check instrument cluster part number
  34. Had this occur yesterday on our Roomster. Super-hot day. Managed to gradually tease it out after it originally wouldn't come more than about 6 or 7 cm. Several workmates stepped up to try, and all managed exactly the same. Aircon on to bring temp down, felt very naked driving with the belt not on, but after about 3 miles it started to gradually sneak out a bit further with each micro-gentle pull. Couldn't see any obvious problem when trim was removed. Seems like a good time to refresh my stock of spray lubricants. Cheers to Alex D for sharing this link with me, and @aubrey for giving a possible cheap fix.
  35. If you can afford to, just keep it Colin and use it sparingly. It’s going to appreciate as it’s an amazing, genuine Q Car.

Cheers, didn’t think the interval was so short. I’ve the car 10years and it didn’t seem like that long ago I changed it! It needs done soon then.
  37. I sent mine to ECU.de Didn't want the hassle of export/import etc. I was very happy with the service.
  38. You did well not to use ECUTESTING. Consider it a bullet dodged. The replacement option is far better IMO.
  39. Yeah after reading the rest of these replies and with the wonder of hindsight it really isn't a viable option and I'm sure some aftermarket 17 or maximum 18 inch wheels and lowering springs would improve the car much more without making it look stupid, thanks for all your help!
  40. To answer the original question - yes, 19" wheels on a car designed for 15-17" wheels is too big. You will have an arch gap loss of 34mm and a ride height increase of 34mm, which will cause clearance issues and look stupid. Your speedometer will over-read by 10%, which is completely illegal and an MOT failure. It will, as others have said, overgear the car. This would mean starting in first is like starting in second - probably not great for a little 1.0/1.6. You also can't get any OE 19" wheels in 5x100. Aside from wide, track going 18" 5x100 PCD from Work/Enkei, I can't see any wheels that are even close to what you're suggesting. You would need a 225/30R19, which isn't really available and, even if it was, is once again daft on a car like a Rapid. Increasing to a 19" wheel will also hugely increase the unsprung weight, which will ruin the ride and handling of the car. If the wheels look a bit small in the arches, then get some lowering springs. Converting it into a monster truck won't help!
  41. Congratulations to @Jasas on being being added to the list - newly acquired no.51 in Lithuania ex Dubai!
  42. Door card off, remove access covers that get you to the glass attachment points, move window to the height where these attachments are visible through the holes. Check for loose/broken bits on each.
  43. Mine came with PZero's and I never liked them either. Side walls were made of paper and the grip was questionable. Switched out to PS4's and have never looked back. Love the black badge work, never considered it till seeing yours but straight on the list to update.
  44. Keep me updated with the progress! I'm flying out to America in a week and a half and can't wait to get started on mine when I get back!
  45. I took the car from ma friends oaintshop and despite it's perfect condition I decided to try some New products. So I usred following for Great result
  46. After a lot of messing about trying to store a memory on seat position, i found that by simply entering the car pressing "SET" then letting go and pressing desired number "1" in my case the seat stored the position with a bong lol. As i previously thought you were supposed to hold SET and NUMBER at the same time to store a memory of the position. I bought my car second hand so not sure if the module had been updated and this is the new way to program the seats. Must be worth a try after all it has worked for me after 2 weeks of messing about.
