Et35 is going to poke a lot even on stock tyres your going to struggle as the actual tire will be out of the well. Mine is lowered by about 55mm but the tyre is fully in the well wheel in line with the body.

Ended up going with some ET42 to be on the safe side.

I've built a small 8" subwoofer for my Fabia It's designed to fit snugly in the "basket" in the trunk and have a quick connection so it's easy to remove if needed.  If someone wants to see

  • Just bought my monte carlo a few weeks ago.    Only done a few mods to it so far.   I've lowered it on eibach springs (30/45mm) and sprayed the badges black.    Also clay

Should be more usable I will take a photo from the top of mine front is definitely flush or slight poke rear might tuck. You could always add a 5mm spacer to the rear. Also if your slightly higher you could go with slightly wider tyres.

I've just gone for 215 tyres for now. Will see how they are once on. I can always change at a later date.

Hello out there!
We have ordered a Fabia estate for the girlfriend, which comes with 16" alloys as standard. The car should arrive next month hopefully.

However I have found a cheap set of used Japan Racing JR11 wheels that I was wondering if they would fit the car, without the rims going outside the fender.

Meassures of the "new" wheels:

7,25" x 17

ET 35

Tires: 205/40-17

Can anyone tell me if this is a go or no go?

Use will they fit .com to compare the difference.

I tried to do that, but it can only take 7" or 7,5" in width.

And since I don't have the car I don't know if they will fit inside the fender.

Willthefit says this:

Compared to your existing wheel, this new wheel will have an inner rim which is 4.6mm further away from the suspension strut. The outer rim will poke out 17.4mm more than before.

I think you will find at et35 they are going to be outside the fender especially the front. My car above is ET42 and is only just inside on the front. You will probably be slightly further in on 7.25 but it’s still setting then out +15 to 16mm. Et35 seems to be the go to stock offset for a lot of wheels but in my opinion looks a bit silly sometimes when they poke too much and it works fine until you lower it and your quite limited as the actual fender gap is all the suspension travel you have. I use mine to carry stuff as well and loaded the rear would be dangerously close if the tyre atleast didnt tuck.

Are they the correct PCD and Bore for the Fabia?

Thanks AG Falco

Question for the group - has anyone upgraded the brakes?

Ive been looking for performance pads only but I cant find anything and neither can my local garage with their suppliers.

Thank you very much

EBC do loads of breaks, well known for their yellowstuff break pads.

Find your car in the list below and there's quite a few pad and rotor combinations ranging from road use to heavy track use.

Very nice 👌

  • 4 weeks later...

So the Fabia has been treated to a stage 1 remap from JBS - 142.5 bhp on the dyno.

The turbo kicks in sooner and much harder which is very welcome - in fact the remap has impressed me so much that I am now sure I won't be going through the trouble of messing about with different turbos. Only thing to come at some point next year will be either a sports cat or a decat and a stage 2 map straight after to see it hit the 150 ish mark and that'll be my perfect Fabia done. 😁

That's good, what other performance mods do you have with the remap?

I've got the Forge intake and a custom catback (which doesn't really do much for performance anyway)

Hello everyone,

I've been thinking about some mods i wanted to do to my 2019 Fabia Monte. I would love to hear your opinions.

They're separated into 2 categories: Now (within the next 2-4 months) and Later (within the next 2 years).

A little backstory: In February 2019 i went to my local Skoda dealer for a quote on a new Fabia Monte. Initally i chose the 110hp 6spd manual (but i really wanted the DSG, it was jsut to get a quote), in the meantime i waited for my internship to finish and sign my fulltime contract. In April i started working full time and since i was earning a decent amount of money 2 weeks later i decided to go back to the dealer and order the Fabia. I go there on a saturday early morning, i ask the guy i previously did my quote with and asked if we could finish the order. He tells me theres an issue, that the night before (so like 9 hours earlier) they received a memo from Skoda saying the 110 engine was no longer available and in turn the 6spd or 7spd DSG. I was livid but a week later i went to another dealer and ordered the 95 5spd because in the end i really liked the car and figured eh. Then i realized i could remap it and here i am. And BTW they relisted the 110 6spd as an available engine a fews days ago. FML that's just really unlucky

Now:

- Remap:

Now here's the issue, i've seen so many remap sites like

  • Dyno Chiptuning
  • BSR
  • APR
  • REVO (apparently they pulled the 1.0 remap a while back and haven't released it since)

I mainly was interested in a crackle/bang remap, which apparently only chiptuning offers. I spoke to BSR and they don't, i tried going to the APR dealer and they were closed so i wasn't able to speak to anyone about that. My only question is how does Dyno Chiptuning work? Whats the stock gearbox rated for? Pretty sure the gearbox code is QTS but i'm unsure wether itrs rated for 200 or 250 nm (probably 200). Would i need a new clutch like this sachs one?

-Induction Kit

  •  Forge Motorsport seems to make the only compatible one (or atleast the most straight forward)

Now this is more of a middle ground between Now and Later as i'd love to do it now but i may never do it at all, and thats changing the transmission from a 5spd to 6spd. I read here not too long ago that it may be a direct swap, but idk where to find one. Maybe Skoda can sell me the part directly 😛

Later:

- Upgraded Brakes

Sorry for the wall of text, but i'd love you guys' (and gals) opinions!

Cheers!

Ive had my Mk3 1.0 6spd remapped for 20k miles now no issues. They are variants of the same transmission rated at 200nm so your not going to have a problem with box or clutch unless your an idiot and burn it off the line all the time. Just get it done and enjoy. Unfortunately I’m selling mine as going all electric. With an e-golf.. atleast it’s still vag!

@Rizzoed Mines a 1.2 TSI so I dont have personal experience with the 1.0 TSI but my understanding is it is the same (or very similar) unit as the UP! GTI which is often seen running 140 ish BHP with a stage 1 tune & Forge intake. There should be plenty of remap options for you.

One thing to add which you may have considered already is a rear anti roll bar - to this day I would consider it to be the best mod Ive done.

Thanks for the info, they all seem to push 135-140hp with 240nm so the only option i was really considering was the crackle/bang map which only the first one i linked offers. TBh i don't even understand how that site works 😛. Do yoiu have any links for anti roll bars? Maybe a couple pics?

Are the 6spd and DSG also rated for 200nm? Isn't 240 a bit much for the stock clutch?  I obviously wont launch the car but still. All electric is nice, so much torque 😮

Any opinions on the other mods i've linked?
