I thought a recall just for MY19.

And all the cars that got into the recall received a working update.
But now I'm confused.

Earlier, we discussed the fact that if Skoda gets a lot of feedback that the firmware does not work, they will continue to work. I expressed concern that the dealer does not take our reviews seriously.
Today I contacted the importer.  And despite my constant gutters, I got this answer:

«We have got information from your dealer that your car is working normally and car not been any faults regarding jerking etc.”

Karoq sel 1.5tsi, registered new May 2019, so I presume MY19?

Assuming what I read from a link provided earlier in the thread is correct then it looks like there is an update called 24EV for Karoq/Kodiaq/Superb 1.5TSI made in May and June 2019 and for earlier MY19 1.5TSI the update is 24EU.

Was visiting the dealer in the morning to fix the keyless antenna sticking out in the trunk (it came like this and remote doesn't work from more than a meter to close the trunk). Asked if there is a software update for me and it turns out there is.

Unfortunately I didn't read a forum before so I believe it was 24EU with software update which was ordered for my car on Sep 29 and I believe it is adviced to be installed when I visit the dealer, without any mail notice. Recall page gives nothing for my VIN. Registered in Sweden.

1.5 TSI DSG produced around 16th of April 2019, I only had little jerky effect on cold/on start, but as car lives in garage it was hardly noticeable.

I called in at my nearest Skoda dealer/retailer yesterday and after a computer check was completed the Karoq has been booked in for the 24EU update to be done in a couple of weeks time.

The Skoda recall checker webpage http://master.skoda-auto.com/mini-apps/recall-actions reported:-

"Dear customer,
No relevant recall campaigns have been launched by ŠKODA for the entered VIN"

True,

no RECALL CAMPAIGNS,  there is not letters going out to Registered Keepers are there?

A wee Service Campaign, just a Recall Action or whatever they want to word it as translating to what ever language.

Trust the VIN Checker as much as the word of a Skoda UK Communications Manager or a Resolution Manager.

Tell them, get you on a list to get in touch with you whenever software updates are available.

That is the least they should be doing instead of this VW / Skoda Secret Service behaviour.

Tell them that you have given permission for that, but not for them sharing your information with Partners like MORI.

This is only a part of the whole issue with 1.5TSI DADA 110kW engine ...

If you do not have any friendly dealer nearby you who could look at ELSA PRO information system for you, you can check yourself all available TPI released for your VIN at erWin for few €

That is the rub,  'Owners are not invited',  well actually it needs to be Drivers / Keepers that get invited when a car is Leased and they might not own them,

but that isalso ignored by VW Group,  many are owned by them.  VW Finance.  Which is why they often say Owners do not complain, they own them.

Just had my Jan 2018 Karoq software update done, and the kangarooing is gone! The engine had started to become more hesitant across the rev range too, but this has been smoothed out also.

What is mileage after update?

You are the first here who completely fixed the kangaroo on MY18.

I strongly believe that there is not fix for Kangaroo. For anyone.  The latest software update changed the engine behavior, that's a fact., but it did not fixed the issue. It is just a bit harder (or just different) to reproduce it now. And I think that people don't try enough to find the new conditions to reproduce the Kangaroo. :). That's my 0.02$

Maybe, in sales regions with the same emissions regs as Europe.

I wonder if the problem is known in other world regions where this engine is sold, where less stringent regs might apply? Anyone know?

Sadly, I think you may be proven right. When cold engines are started in early morning winter air temperatures, I suspect that the kangaroo will become more noticeable, even on cars which appear to be fixed.
