  2. the phone I use needs to be plugged in to charge. Waze also works via wireless. Makes no difference in the problem. Again, that is not the problem. The skoda map is not used at all. The arrow indications in the centre console are managed by Waze but do not always show the correct expected direction. If the arrow displayed consistently indicated the correct turn direction there would be no problem. as an aside: The automatic switching of the console to the skoda map is a stupidity which can indeed be temporarily switched off by selecting a different content. Unhappily the centre console display is dynamic and can't AFAIK be locked on one specific app/function. The overall display that I have is: Left: analogue revcounter and distance-to-car-in-front display Right: analogue roadspeed, fuel remaining
  3. Thank you both. I will check the rear door seals, i would never of thought to look there ! My VRs is a 2014 estate, so as Gaz says the earlier model was prone to reports of this. Sunroof water is running clear yes, I poured boiling water plus fairy liquid down the front holes, also put a curtain wire down both this afternoon. I’ll also have a look to see if there are holes under the back of sunroof near the glass but I don’t think there are. Door seals especially rear passenger side which is shown in the photo above seems the most likely culprit. This was as if a bucket of water was emptied in there ! At the moment I have her parked with both passenger wheels up on the kerb. Will be a few days until I can investigate further. Will let you know the outcome . Many Thanks guys.
  4. Thought I'd let you know that finally, hopefully, without talking too soon!🤞, my infotainment updates seems to be sorted, at the start of last week I had a huge system update that took a combination of 4 20 minute journeys to download, and then could only update whilst the engine was off, after that updated I got a notification that there was 3 updates, all were the original updates I'd had 3 months ago, even though it was only the application one that kept repeating daily, they were "successfully" completed last thursday, although 1 did require me to lock my car for a minute!🤷‍♂️ but since then I've haven't had the daily applications update message that I'd been getting. So it would appear to address this issue Skoda have had to send out a huge system update just to install 3 small update, well thats what I hoping.

  6. Right. After 15 minutes or so it did actually turn off with the car locked. And it booted back up to the same place so I think it will be safe to leave it. I think I’m going to call it a night and order another screen and get a refund on this one. Maybe there was a reason this one was so cheap…
  7. Following work on the front end chassis over the weekend I have the following collection of errors. On the way home of a half hour drive, about 5 minutes from home, these came up. They also come up every time the ignition goes on. What’s the consensus: Lee’s battery is on its way out - it’s coincidence Lee’s ham-fisted approach has probably unalived a wheel speed sensor Changing the rear drop links, front droplinks and lower arms (including loosening the subframe and now making the car pull left unless the steering is 30degrees right) probably means an ADAS recalibration is needed Booked in for a few things end of the month (oil service, dsg service, ruddy top mounts, front arb) then straight for 4wa after. Question is, do I need to do anything else as well? Also tested the battery and was pretty decent SOH and SOC so that doesn’t flag immediately but I could be being naive on that… Thoughts…?

  9. Done that. It boots back to the same place.
  10. Long press on the power button, screen will go dark and then keep pressing to reset. I felt exactly the same when I messed mine up. There are many helpful people in the telegram group that can advise if still wonky.
  11. Were you at Matthewsons on the telly just now on a repeat 🤔😂 Never mind, that one had the superior CD player HU 😝
  12. I think it must be bad touchscreen. Contemplating ordering another from eBay. But now it won’t turn off! I’ve locked car and stood outside and the screen is still on and the fans still whirring. FFS why do I insist on fiddling!
  13. Dear Experts , Can any body please advice if I am missing anything , I am trying to fit the door handle backing plate on front LEFT side , the fitted parts OEM is 5N0839885H as seen on ebay https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/188844016752 www.skoda-parts.com I can see it had 1 screw under handle on left end of backing but nothing is on right side , After tighting the 1 screw the backplate does not get any support on right side and loose, so when handle is pulled it come out. Any idea how to make sure it fits correctly on door so that handle does not come out. I can see two holes on door , one hole is used for handle stopping as seen in the video https://www.youtube.com/shorts/_bPG7CQmjz0 ( older versions has screws but not any more ) but there is no nut on back plate to hold the 2nd screw on right side . I suspect the door or backplate compatibility issue any help would be highly appreciated ! Attched Some photos for info. If some body have replace backplate images from repair manual please share. Thanks kind regards
  14. I ended up selling this due to fuel costs. I've since sold the red Fabia after the timing chain let go, and the silver one I bought to replace it was far too troublesome electrically. With petrol over £1.60 a litre, I deemed it wise to buy a V6 instead. Top of the line 2.6 V6 CDX manual, with all the trimmings. This is absolutely sublime.

  16. Hmm. While I was sat here contemplating my life choices. And about to pull the fuse to get it to retry. It went blank. And then rebooted. But back to the same screen. And I still can’t press skip. Bad touchscreen?
  17. This is correct, I had issues with them when I had the Superb.
  18. I don't think the parts come from the UK, it's all from mainland Europe as far as I know. They just pretend to be local by using .co.uk web address. There was a very similar thread - https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/540874-superb-3v3-tailgate-struts-beware-autodoc/ - about a week ago, and will continue being more because their pricing is so enticing.
  19. Hmm I appear to be stuck. It’s on this screen with the new 9.2” screen plugged in but I press skip and nothing happens. Almost as it the touchscreen doesn’t work. I don’t know whether to turn it off or what! I’ve tried unplugging and replugging in the screen. Nothing. Any help? @Cairus ?
  20. I put my money on a failing wheel bearing. MOT is just a safety inspection, so the drivetrain is not part of it.
  21. Update - It was actually the n/s front wheel bearing so thats a relief . Prob a lot cheaper than propshaft. Thanks all for your comments , Alan
  22. Just a heads up for anyone thinking to order anything from this company. If they send you wrong parts from UK you are supposed to return them to Germany and cover postage which is not refundable!!! There is no phone to call them or email unless they provide you with one and only way to speak to them is via their chat where if you don't reply within 3 minutes another person will take over and then whole chat clears after 3 hours so there is no trace. About 15 different employees told me different things each. Plus where i live ( channel islands) local post refused to accept my parcel due it's value ( apparently post only accpts up to £120 worth) so only option i had left was DHL which cost £189 to Germany for set of 4 springs. Bear in mind i paid £233 for springs with postage from UK. And return is fully covered by you and not refundable. So if i did that i would only be getting back £44 ( that's if they deem returned parts eligible for refund) So just a little warning before you give your hard earned cash to these people 👍🏻
  23. I did my question on gpt chat, I rang auto electrician, who said he can remove the vibration on steering wheel by remembering last setting, it can be reversed, He even said vibration was strong and it pulls you back into lane.
  24. Yes that's correct. 3 different garages but all official Skoda/VAG dealerships in Switzerland... I think I'm going to write to Skoda Switzerland directly... Drop a bit of heat on the dealership at the same time. Gabbo
  25. OK. You can try to reflash it with the new firmware but it might be HW issue as well. I have just sent you download link in PM.
  26. For anyone else who uses the Build-In Sat Nav - I discovered today, after owning the Karoq for 30 months that destinations can be searched for with the Post Code. Just type it into the Search box. I like the Sat Nav - I know many do not, and this is great.
  27. Yeah that's what i mean... On your picture above the Eibach is quite a bit shorter than original spring, what i received is almost identical length but wider diameter 🤔😣 Anyway I've opened a dispute with Autodoc because the way they handled this is ridiculous...
  28. No quite right... estate springs still fit hatchback but don't lower as much on rear as specific spring for hatchback would as estate is slightly heavier. What i received is completely different rear axle spring.
