MIB 3 SW update
Hello I have a Fabia 4 with MIB 3, OE 3V0.035.816.L, but with the old SW 0306. Carplay, or rather the phone, is often disconnected. A known thing on old SW. I would like to put the latest possible SW there. I would probably flash it via ODIS rather than via USB. Has anyone encountered a situation where the flash did not go through and the unit was gone? Is there then any possibility of restoring the unit, for example on the table? It's my car and the system is not exactly cheap. Thanks!

Direct Firmware Download needed for Bolero in Octavia III
Is it possible and thinkable for you to contact me via dm or email <Removed> There are some units in PL for sell. Maybe we can discuss options and I have questions (read- I need help) with CP obviously. Email removed Only send this information via the PM (Private Messaging) function to trusted members. If the PM function is not yet available to you, tagging the member and asking them to start a conversation will work. Briskoda admin.

Something is killing my battery - where should I look?
looks like a standard EFB rather an EFB+ EFB+ models generally provide higher amp-hour capacity and slightly stronger cold-cranking amps (CCA) than baseline EFB tiers from the same brand family.

Door Umbrella
Thanks for the comments, sorry for the delay in replying but we have been away for a few days. We decided to take the Fabia as it doesn't get alot of use and longer runs - I really enjoyed driving the car which as you say is my wifes. Bit disappointed that it didn’t come with an umbrella given that it was quite expensive with all the extras. I should have checked when we first got the car but hey-ho!

Dpf help
Possibly a blockage in one of the smaller pipes. Sadly if a couple of longer runs don’t resolve it you may need someone who is an expert in DPF’s most garages and dealerships don’t really have a clue Take a look here, he is good https://youtube.com/@orileysautos?si=yawAXYQ-RRBloGeD Don;t get the idea a quick delete will resolve it. Most likely it won’t

Dpf help
I started digging deeper into the issue and noticed that the measured soot mass is increasing twice as fast as the calculated soot mass. That’s where the problem lies: either one of the sensors is malfunctioning, or they need calibration.

cooling fan unit advice
BlueWagon Thanks for the response...... I thought so too. There's always that old adage...'If it's not broken, don't fix it'. I've ordered one controller for £32 odd on ebay....... I will fit it when it arrives and report back. Thx again, BlueWagon for your response. Regards Tom

Oil Change
What he said ^ I wouldn’t bother doing it every 5k - it’s not remotely a performance engine and with newer oils, you get a fair bit longer before degradation. I just use the standard C5 0W-20 in mine. I spent a fair while thinking about swapping to 0W-30, before realising it didn’t really matter and I wasn’t really bothered. As long as you’re using decent oil (Millers, Castrol, OE, whatever), you’ll be fine. Opie Oils has some good information.

Solved-> Overheating problem Skoda Superb (year 2018)
Hello everyone, I would like to give feedback to this topic: https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/534598-overheating-problem-skoda-superb-year-2018/ Brothers from the Skoda Superb Facebook group in Turkey solved my problem. The problem was the lower bumper grille shutters. They were stuck. I removed the shutters, and now the coolant temperature no longer rises above 90°C under normal driving conditions. It reaches a maximum of 100°C when I drive at 230 km/h with an outside temperature of 26°C. The oil temperature is still quite high, but I think this is either a different issue or simply normal for these cars. Best regards

Fabia Mk4 130.
Yes they are , Ive ordered off wheelbase a set of oz super t in matt graphite . I reckon 16s for winter will keep an eye for genuines on Ebay , will hang on to stock wheels for putting back on future wise 👌 I think 17s a better compromise . Watch this space 👌👍

Broke down in my 1.5 TSI - oil in spark plugs
They were, by 20,000 miles. The schedule is 4 years / 40,000 miles on the spark plugs. I would say especially with a 1.5 TSI ACT 40,000 miles is long enough before replacing.

Fabia Mk4 130.
Hi Jackel, Yeah, roads are bloody awful at moment, spend most of your time dodging potholes! I have noticed that they're also quite jarring in the 130 if you go in one... I've been searching for a set of 17" steel wheel to fit winters on but hopefully winters a long way off yet! Are the OEM 18" wheels 7J x ET51 do you know?

Kamiq seat question.
Hi. SWMBO is looking at getting a Kamiq but a quick question. Is the seat base angle adjustable on models with electric seats? Thanks in advance.

the truth about electric cars
Personally am not in favour of banning ICE but emissions must be tightly controlled to bring down the number of shortening of life / death due to vehicle emmissons. I am quite convinced the ever increasing economic strength of argument EVs will increasingly have companies, drivers etc choose EVs over ICE. No need to outright ban.

Broke down in my 1.5 TSI - oil in spark plugs
Just back from the garage. Full boroscope inspection done and a wisp of oil in cylinders 1 and 3. Everything as normal otherwise, no scoring. Also compression test done and only cylinder 3 was slightly down but still within tolerance. Small amount of oil in turbo intake pipe but turbo boosting properly. Mechanic says there is excessive suction at the PCV despite a new one being fitted and he can't get his head around it. He's phoning a VAG specialist friend tomorrow for his opinion on where to start with that. He says that is where the oil consumption will be happening. New spark plugs fitted and the car seems to be driving better than before. He says the ones in the car were well past their replacement due date. They were only 60k miles old as well!!!! So hopefully it's not piston rings or turbo.
