I filled up at CostCo a couple of days ago and super has gone up 2p since then. Happily I'm not planning on going far unlike earlier this year when the prices leapt up just as I was about to drive up to Scotland on holiday.

I've bought 3 new and 1 used Skoda over the past 24 years, and have similar thoughts. Already when buying latest (used) manual diesel vRS back in 2019, I was thinking that this might be my last Skoda purchase, makes me sad because previous 3 new Skoda purchases were fantastic in almost every aspect. The Karoq used to be my go to choice for the next car right until they stopped equipping it with manual gearbox diesels and the Varioflex seating. I guess the ownership of Roomster and Mk1 Superb has built up my idea of what a good car should be, and the current Skoda offerings fly far below my level of expectations. Cutting fuel tanks and range while simultaneously making the (larger fuel tank) higher end models too wide and too long for UK daily life also did not help, all parking spots in my area are still the same size as 25 years ago and for long distance travel to Europe, the only manual diesel left in the new car range is the Octavia, with a pathetic 45l fuel tank (Mk1 Octavia vented diesel fuel tank was 64l !). I am increasingly looking towards Mazda, especially that you can get 3.3l V6 diesels in their SUVs (though automatic only) as well as a large-ish 2.5l non-turbo petrol engine mated to a manual gearbox in a much smaller car that I can still actually fit in (Mazda 3).

But point I’d like to keep on using at least smart link to connect my iPhone as GPS and vocal commands. However I didn’t patch unit at all; only thing I can do right now will be upgrading the MIB’s firmware to version 324 or 330 (actually is 320)

Only doing 7,000 miles a year is the very reason to change from how they leave the factory on variable / flexible servicing and go to fixed / annual oil and filter changed and an inspection Annually unless doing regular checks yourself. As advised by VW group / Skoda.

Have a look on yours (anyone with a mk4, please!), I don't own one, or I would. 🙂 Quite likely possible to get a camera phone pic without lifting vehicle, by reaching under bumper in each corner.

@Breezy_Pete Dunno - based on the Owner's Manuals I'd EXPECT all Fabia Mk4 models (or any 2020-onwards car for that matter) to have a brake-pad-wear warning system. Perhaps you could do as you suggested to Lar and "Look to see if there's a wire coming from any of the inner brake pads" with your Mk4. This 2019 topic discussed Fabia Mk3 brake pads https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/468756-brake-pad-wear-sensors-on-mkiii/ so some Mk4s may have pad-wear sensors and some may not, depending on the car's specification.

Amazon already have a fleet of electric HGVs and they are ideal for their usage as they go from warehouse to warehouse. Known mileages and chargers at their warehouses mean that can be charged while loading and unloading is being done ready for their return trip.

Definitely not the case - these DQ250 gearboxes can take up 600Nm with the stock clutch, but needs a TCU tune to cope with additional power. Any higher n u'll need to start changing clutch hardware.

😂 Sorry. Nobody read What i say: Did you perform the function activation? It probably won't work with ODIS Online, though, because different data is stored on the server. If IT works, only the Fec's from Factory out are activ. In my opinion, the online services are completely useless. The MIB3 runs much more stably and reliably without them. So, disable them via coding, patch the unit, and you're done. But in this case, since the CP has been officially removed, the online service might actually work despite the FEC patch.

Hey mate, yes we have after it having to go back 3 times and then them destroying my 12v step down for the USB, I have a service as part of the plan this month and can’t find anything to replace it with that would be worth while so have decided to keep it for now.

Thanks @JR RS so these can take a tune quite well then, maybe I will go for the 300hp as these seems run around 230-40 stock by the look of it. Just that I have read the gearbox is limited to 350nm but not sure if that is true

Hey everyone! Hoping someone can help me, im currently trying to put an Android unit in my skoda, and cannot seem to find the correct 52pin plug adapter. I have the Fibreoptic decoder for the canton sound system and the can bus box pictured below. But the connector seems to be incorrect every time... Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated!

Go to a VAG specialist independent in future. Discs do not fall for being lipped, that's a racket a lot of garages do, new pads maybe. It's too late now but with your car only doing about 7,000mi a year you could have had it serviced every other year if they used long life oil. Good luck with your future, I hope it is stress free.

Our 1.5 TSI never cut out, bought new in 2018 and sold earlier this year after 8 years of trouble free motoring. Now replaced with another one, DSG this time.

Hi All My 2011 superb 3.6 is causing me major headsches. Car starts great & then immediately dies. can start it again imeediately no issue but then dies again unless I push the throttle down & get it up to around 25 - 3000 rpm but even then it runs rough & will die again if revs drop Have replaced fuel filter at rear, ensured line from filter to low pressure sensor is clear, have fuel to the in side of the fuel rail(?) . no codes come up when interrogated relating to engine control etc. Is there an easy way to test the HP fuel pump is working correctly? any other thoughts & suggestions are welcomed. Do have misfires on nearly all cylinders when I can get ot to run on high revs.

I have a 2025 Kodiaq noise in suspension from day 1 dealer changed shocks and 2 steering racks still the same car is non DCC.Skoda sent an engineer he said it’s a characteristic of the car. I got an independent engineer he agrees with me noise should not be there now the 2 engineers are meeting up to discuss. I have spoken to a few owners all have the same issue and getting no where fast.

Gandalf (MY17 Superb 220 FWD) is currently on Stg 3, producing 400 hp 550 Nm at the wheels. Previously I ran Stg 1 for approx 5 yrs before going to Stg 2 briefly then Stg 3 last year. I've had no issues with any of the stock hardware over the many years. The Stg 1 was an APR Hi-torque tune producing 300 hp 540 Nm at the wheels. Supporting mods then were R600 intake, turbo inlet pipe and elbow. I also had a TCU tune, which made a big difference. Now I've got an IE intercooler & downpipe, Garrett Powermaxx Turbo with stronger injectors. The Galano TCU tune has a Boost-by-Gear function that is specific for the FWD, that does an impressive job putting the power down through the front wheels without wheel spin.

Hi everyone, I am looking for help updating the MIB3 (MOI3 LG unit) infotainment system on my Skoda Octavia IV (2020). * Current SW version: 1668 * Target SW version: 1941 (already downloaded) Since direct update from 1668 to 1941 is not supported and can be risky due to partition layout changes, I need an intermediate bridge/sequence update first.
