  2. New MHI2 P470 (2027) maps were released by VW. The content.pkg contains the following FECs/FSCs: 02300040 (Audi), 09300002 (VW), 08300002 (Skoda), 07300040 (Seat), 06300040 (Porsche), 03300040 (Bentley). This also means they'll run on Skoda no problem, as per usual. Link to the maps on the VW servers: https://navigation-maps.volkswagen.com/vw-maps/Update_25_26/P470_N60S5MIBH3_EU.7z
  3. OK, Having "resolved" the last error on our Octavia 22 SE Tech, now it's the turn of this error for us. Honestly, I'm thinking of getting rid of the car and moving to another brand, this new one seems way worse than my old Fabia. Anyone I've got the emergency call disabled problem, together with a warning light to do with the parking sensor, in addition the screen is permanently "off" so no SatNav, or music, and can't properly control the things that are controlled via the screen (turn up or down the air con for instance). With the emergency call, one suggestion is a hard reset of the infotainment system, but we've had it disconnected to prevent the other problem (random volume increases etc) so I guess that's not possible. I've mostly given up with our useless local dealer, if I ring them they'll just say they'll call back, and never do, they just want our money. I'm going to call an independent garage today, from what I've read above and online it seems likely that it's the OCU battery that's at fault, so perhaps they can replace that. I don't have the time, or the skill/confidence to do that myself. And I don't have one of these VCDS / ODB tools, so I guess I can't use the unplug the fuse and turn it on workaround since, then I'd have more errors (I guess?) and wouldn't be able to clear them. Pre garage I'm considering, doing a hard reset of the infotainment by disconnecting the battery? Would that help? I do have a charger, I could try charging the car but if this is because we are somehow reliant on a stupid inaccessible coin cell I guess charging it won't help? Any other ideas? Pressing the emergency call button doesn't do anything, not does holding it down, it tried to call someone but it didn't work, but made no difference to the error.. Any other ideas? Is it worth getting the fault clearance tool? Ideally the car would work properly before next Friday...as have a long drive to do.
  4. Hope it stays gone. If it returns I think there should be a multipin cable from ecu in the engine bay fuse box. Not sure exactly where. On my octavia it seems to connect through base of box. Check it for loose pins/corosion. Hopefully it was a fuse/relay that needed reseated. Alasdair
  5. The problem of untaxed vehicles can not be resolved until the problem of Unregistered vehicles or registered to the current keeper or driver is resolved and more ANPR cameras in villages, and towns and at filling stations.
  6. Welcome. A TSI or a TDI? The Oil if a pre 2018 car will be VW 504 00 / 507 00 , so 5w 30 FS III, or 0w 30 FS III, 2018 on is maybe VW508 00 / 509 00, so 0W 20 FS IV. But you could use 0w 30 FS III. Are you checking the oil not only when cold, but to get the correct level when the Engine Oil is up to normal operating temperature, so an indicated 90*oC or so after stopping a few minutes. 4 or 5 minutes.
  7. @Evolution13 correct, I fully expect VED will be scrapped then the problem of untaxed vehicles will be resolved.
  8. Maybe best not at a Main Dealer unless they have a Hunter Alignment system and employees trained to use it. Some will never have their vehicle in for alignment and others might when getting new tyres fitted. Or when have their tyres rotated. It is up to you. Regular tyre pressure checks and inspections of the tread wear in 'Simply Clever'.
  9. Sorry yes, HM Treasury Consolidate Fund if England & in Scotland likewise to the Scottish Consolidate Fund. As far as the PPM coming in for BEV,s and PHEV,s and if by ANPR or the checks at MOT stations, then that can happen equally to ICE vehicles when ever a Government wants it to.

  11. HI, recently purchased a VRS with 102K on it. Nice car, pleased with it. I do have a question about oil consumption. I checked the oil when purchased and was where it should be on the dipstick. After 2,000 miles it is only just touching the bottom of it. Too excessive for 2,000 miles? Also, I checked the manual but cannot seem to find the spec of oil in Halfords, or similar. What is the usual go to spec oil please in layman's language. Thank you in advance
  12. Aha! newbie mistake. Cheers!
  13. lol. Gandalf is Stg 3 now with a Garrett Powermaxx turbo 😁
  14. I was wondering if anyone knows how often I need to do alignment on my 2024 4x4 Skoda? Do I need to go to a dealership because of 4x4 or it can be done in a local garage It is L&K with active suspension.

  17. I don't think it could be temp related. It happens after short runs and long runs, and in any weather
  18. Hi, You did (in the topic title) ;). But you didn't answer my question about temps.
  19. @Breezy_Pete thank you for your effort! This morning, I ran a scan on a cold engine and got the usual cold-start behavior, and refused to clear: Immediate rescan: I cleared the code (P25AB00) on cold ignition. OBDeleven automatically rescanned the ECU a second later and caught the code again immediately. Checking the Freeze Frame data, I noticed a new timestamp and slightly changed parameters. I retried clearing it twice, and after each clear, a new timestamp and slightly changed parameters appeared. The 60-second delay: After failing twice, I turned the ignition OFF, waited a full 60 seconds, and turned the ignition back ON. Upon scanning, the frequency counter had increased to 2. I cleared the code, and this time it stayed gone! I then drove to work with no faults at all, and the Start-Stop system worked perfectly the entire way. A fresh scan upon arrival at work showed zero faults. I also checked the fuse box in the engine bay — I pulled out and reseated all fuses and relays to ensure good contact. All pins and terminals look completely spotless with zero visible signs of corrosion or oxidation.

  23. Your title says octavia...I am afraid few people to noone can help you here, as it is a Kodiaq place...
  24. Pay attention that your wife doesn't imagine there's a woman sleeping on the back seats of your car, once doors are closed! 🤣
  25. Sorry, I thought I'd mentioned that. It's an IV
  26. Hi, Could it be related to to current hi temps? Did you already notice this by cooler temps?
  27. Thanks. The side skirts also help it bring it closer to the ground. No change in horsepower since the last update. Back then it was doing bout 200 hp, when i first got it. Now it's doing 400 hp 😁 That's not going to change anymore.

  29. Top, dat ga ik morgen even testen. Bedankt voor jullie reacties!
  30. Ja, je kunt het ook testen. Als je in de auto zit en je de achterklep open doet, dan merk je dat er meer bas ontstaat. Dat duid op de fase rotatie. Het verschil is enorm als je het stekkertje omdraait!
  31. I just bought Skoda Rapid 2018 1.0tsi turbo, with radio swing but it doesnt have carplay or even bluetooth, any solutions or options to modify it to have that added?
