  1. prepping for summer.just put new rubber on the rims and back to garage
  2. VID-20250214-WA0004.mp4 It let's go a bit more on gear changes. Bit more of a grunt which is fun. Not sure if it's a great sound )
  3. That's not what @CityScout is asking. They're asking if the blade part numbers for a right hand drive car are different to a wrong hand drive one.
  4. Do you have normal hot air or just lukewarm?
  5. Hello, welcome to the forum. Is the engine really running cold - has the actual engine temperature been checked independently? What is the oil temperature reading? (if you have Maxidot display)
  6. I know is nothing important, but I hitched a ride in my woman's order for temu for some junk and I added the battery box cover ... for like 5 euro 😜 Fitted and is tight enough. I got also the cap/funnel for the washer, but looks very rubberish and not hard plastic as in the photos. Nevertheless will try it and see if it works. I wish I had time and availability for more relevant and nicer upgrades, but for now the Superb will have to soldier on as it is, until I get rid of other things in my garage/and in my life and free up availability 😔
  7. Here is what it sounds like currently. I am hopefully getting res done today so will post an after video later. VID-20250213-WA0007_1.mp4
  8. Our 6 year old Karoq is still rattle free, just as well as I can't stand rattles in a car. Whenever I've had them it's always been caused by me, eg once caused by my spare glasses case that I keep in the car.
  9. Was that the little bugger? Thanks. AG Falco
  10. I did a centre resonator delete recently on my 220 petrol Superb - got an RPM Performance Resonator Delete Anti-drone pipe. It's made for the mk3 Octavia TSi. Good fit. Makes a nice little difference, nothing obnoxious, and best bit - no drone at all, even at highway/freeway speeds. Installed.... Video comparison....
  11. Hi. Please feel free to take a look at our breakdown offering if you wish. Breakdown Cover | Flux Rescue | Adrian Flux Regards, Dan
  12. @nta16 No worries .......
  13. Nearly 2 years in for me, my Phoenix Orange Karoq SEL has been a good servant. I'm very particular about rattles and squeaks and can confirm that there's nothing too persistent. This is my second Karoq, so they can't be that bad. Both have done consistent 44mpg in a city full of hills. Normal Bridgestone Tyres are absolutely disastrous in winter round me, so I have a set of winter wheels and Tyres. Would I buy a 3rd Karoq, so far, yes
  14. Sorry, totally me misunderstanding and perhaps taking offence with your "sorry if this offends" I just took that the wrong way, I make many mistakes every day, probably every hour, that was another one I did put on my opening line that I could be wrong with it. I dislike macho male types but I was dragged up on rough council estates so the black wolf sometimes slips out unnecessarily. My personal (ex, I hope) troll is in this thread so perhaps I'm more briskly but that's no excuse to jump to conclusions with others. Please accept my apology, I misunderstood your post and was in the wrong with my wrong thought and interpretation.
  15. Youtuber Definatelynotaguru. One of his best videos Criteria, as can be seen from front screen below, Decent ie 200 mile plus reported range, not silly mileage and under £12K Zoe gets first mentione but lots of other too including an early Model 3, big battery LEAF etc.... Quite well done IMO. .

  17. I had the same thing this morning. I think that some of the time it is a Skoda server issue, rather than the app, because all the commands to the car from the app go through their servers, whereever they are. I checked the Vehicle Data Access and mine was still on.
  18. Sister in law at end of lease looking at another this week. Told "Has to be electric" At dealership
  19. Interesting… That option doesn’t apply to my car - must be an iV thing 😉 Anyway, good that it’s now working.
  20. I think so. It's a little old, but I think it shows. I'm planning to get an OBDEleven now. I won't be able to access the OBD until the beginning of next week.
  21. Hope you can get it cheaper......... Not sure how much mine is going to be this year as I believe all road taxes are going up by some amount...... Genuinely cannot remember how much I paid last year, I would have paid it on visa card and without going through my records, so not sure. Nothing I can do about it though anyway but my Insurance did go down almost £200 from just under £500
  22. Thanks for that. I will check. As it happens, it was another family car that broke down, a French one, NOT the Karoq.
  23. The guy who I bought it from was selling it on behalf of his neighbour while he was away , I was under pressure and desperately needed a car I was running out of time , I paid the tax myself when I transferred the v5 on my name , I didn’t know how things work I only just moved here , when I looked at the engine specs I taught I’m will only have to pay £20 because my car was eligible for tax band B I was very confused , it’s my fault I should have looked things into more detail but like I said I was under pressure and I saw that the car is in good condition thinking it’s a good deal as I will find estate car very practical for moving stuff and buying large garage equipment. I am reading rules in kit-car registration ,maybe I modify my car will fall under kit-car registration or modified cars and change the tax class like that , that’s just a taught anyway so still have to find out a lot !
  24. That's great if you do 25 mile journeys and you have checked the battery's fine, Thing is it's not the same for all owners/drivers plus some are like teenagers living at home and not paying any bills with their electric use whilst driving and parked up. Plus of course you have a 2018 built car those with say 2019 and later may have much higher use. A number of times over the decades I have been told the battery is good [ ETA: - by others with a problem with their cars and I look at the cars - ] but when I check it isn't, loose battery terminal clamp(s) particularly after a battery has been replaced, by Dealerships, garages and retailers nowadays, but also often overtightened by someone with more muscle than finesse, or of course the battery is just in too lower state of charge for what is required. With modern by the time the battery won't started the car it has been severely depleted sometimes, depending on previous use, abuse and neglect by owners, drivers and those supposed to be serving and maintaining, may be beyond reasonable use recovery. Lights can look bright enough even when the battery is in a lower state of charge than the computers like. If you or anyone else doesn't want to buy or use a battery charger that is fine I'm just trying to prevent owners becoming part of the statistic of the number one cause of breakdown callouts and having all sorts of unexpected warnings and issues with their VWŠkoda.
  25. Did anyone take them up on their offer? It seems an odd thing to offer when people are collecting their car - what do they do, ask people to come back for a charging session? The SEAT dealer we use recommends a coolant change every 2yrs, and their booking staff get miffed if you say no.
  26. 6.5 years and 35,000 miles and the battery is fine. Probably as nearly every journey is at least 25 miles so it gets a chance to charge. I have never used an external charger.
  27. The part about the customer buying their own parts, really from any source seems have become a big "NO NO" for many garages, a bit annoying for some of us, but I've had that response when I wanted a new ABS sensor fitting and then the car being MOT'd, initially that hurt a bit, but I had to accept it, really not too good as I grabbed a new ABS to carry out diagnostics - and ECP was the easiest place to buy a Bosch one from - £67.99 PIM price was under £15, but that would have taken maybe 3 or 4 days to land on my doormat! Leaking DCC dampers, especially the LHS front ones, hum, yes, a common problem it seems like, SEAT at least, fit Monroe at factory, and the difference in price from a Monroe branded DCC front damper and a Monroe VW Group branded DCC front damper - at least for a 2019 SEAT Leon Cupra is huge - horrible.
  28. RAC is legendary awful. We've used the AA a few times and it's worked OK - daughter called Skoda Assist (AA came) a few weeks ago after a puncture on the motorway. She was right by a junction so got off and they came, changed the wheel (I'd got a spare as an accessory) and she was only 30 mins late into work.
  29. I like what he bought as a replacement.
  30. Welcome to your new motor. Hope you enjoy it as much as I am mine. Lots of tech stuff to get used to, spend hour or so with a coffee sat in the car working through the menus with phone & search-engine or the manual by your side (just in case). It will be time well spent. The internet connection in the car is primarily for the Škoda Connect services (Remote Access & Infotainment Online); the use of those services is subscription based after the first year. For Spotify etc. you'll need to use your phone and CarPlay or AndroidAuto; so either stream the music with your mobile data or cache the it on your device/app. There is an option to by a SIM Only package from Cubic which adds mobile data to the onboard eSIM - the car can then become a WiFi hotspot for all the phone & tablets you and passengers take in there. It is not necessary as most folk have an excess of data as part of their mobile package anyway.
  31. I'm rather disappointed by the look of it. It looks like any other Audi estate, whereas the prototype looked amazing. The front and rear are much less swoopy. I've never been a fan of the current Audi grille, so it looks old fashioned and fugly to me. Not that it matters at that price, I won't be able to afford one! 🤣
  32. This dealer closed doors. It does not exist. Closest is Lookers Skoda in Stockport - my experience with them was dismal, and their prices extortionate.
  33. Working now, apparently there were a few other bongs on startup but the next restart all clear.
  34. Maybe I didn't make this clear. I'm taking it off auto and selecting a fan speed and a temp such as 16 or 17 degrees. In my old Skoda Octavia and my wife's 20 plate karoq (which had the same dials), this resulted in cool air blowing through regardless of the outside temperature. On my new octavia when I do this it blows warm/hot air unless I select 'lo'. In any case it seems I've missed the point of new technology making the decisions for me in the name of 'smart technology '.
  35. 21 years later... Wow, Wondering if this is the oldest thread revival post in the history of Brisky ??? ......... Lol.
  36. 6 years and 26,000 miles
  37. 'Salary Sacrifice' deserves a thread all of it,s own.
  38. Do you mean euro6d? I didn’t think euro 7 exists yet?
  39. Open ur car door and look at the build plate - it tells u the engine code of ur car. In my case, it's CHHB.
  40. The EA888 is not a great sounding engine. All you really do is increase the volume of the farting (that's the only honest description) it produces; Centre res should give you what you're looking for, but I would never classify it as a pleasant noise. Unless you like that sort of thing, of course.
  41. On the windows - Tesco glass cleaner (the one in the green spray bottle) and blue roll. Same thing I use when I'm preparing shop windows for vinyls, it's the best stuff going.
  42. Surely you want to get your brakes sorted, however the price is ridicilious just for diagnosis. I would just get the rear brakes replaced (disks & pads, calipers if really needed), perhaps in more reasonable carage. Brakes are a wear item so wud not expect compesation from warranty. Oil leak. I would try to see how severe the leak is and then decide if I would just live with it. Or if it fixable with new seal or something. The price seems high. Undertay, again would check how bad and probably just live with it or fix it with some screws or whatever is needed. Oxygen sensor is most likely something you need to get changed anyway. Perhaps other garage cud do it cheaper? All in all, take it to somewhere else. Ask what the warranty covers and if they have a place where the work should be done under warranty.
  43. The car is telling you that it is unable to complete locking and set the security. We really need a scan from ODBEleven or VCDS for us to provide any further details.
  44. Thanks everyone..your input has been extremely valuable 😁 happy to report I managed to speak to the sales manager who apologised for the lack of communication. He confirmed we should have received an electronic copy of the new car order form and it sometimes goes to junk but it isn't in my husband's junk...anyway the results of the conversation is that he will refund us the deposit and no mention whatsoever of the £1500 which the sales advisor emailed about. Thanks again for all your replies and advice.
  45. 1 point
Now gone to copart to be auctioned at the York center, low reserve so will be a bargain for someone I’ll post link when it goes live
  46. This link was shared by another user, there's nothing more left to add. 😞
  47. Hello, I am searching web for almost 3 month now and can't find any leads, I hope someone here can help. My MIB3 navigation factory database is for EU, My car now is located in NAFRICA region, downloading map updates for new region from skoda update portal is not working as the MIB is waiting for EU region update usb drive, when I changed the Navigation adaptation country to NAFRICA now navigation stuck on loading navigation and I got error DTC on MIB "B126CF1 Navigation Database is missing," What I found so far is that, there should be a +20 GB file that used firmware update menu "RED ENGINEERING MENU" that we use to update MIB firmware, this file contains the factory navigation map database for my region and after replacing the DB I then can use the offline update files to update. does anyone here can help to find these files to download them, I only found a VW one for EU region which been used for converted US MIB3 to have EU navigation database, link is here I found from youtube video. Link Here Hope to find any help in that.
  48. Replace the sump??? They make helicoil repair kits just for this, 5 minutes work and a fresh oil change and you are sorted. All in with the tool, oil, filter and new plug - probably £100 max £150 if you go buy a jack, axle stands and ratchet set from Lidl/aldi and fancied it yourself
