  1. Thanks, have got all new Bilstein B6, tops mounts, bump stops, shocks and nuts/bolts Speaking with @Binx1310 when he collected the gaiter off me the ride is worse in mine, with 75k on the clock so hoping this really transforms the car This Thursday is when it’s all getting done, can’t wait
  2. 2019 Kodiaq has Haldex 5.
  3. Cambelt and water pump replaced this week. I know they've got rid of the time limit, but at 5 years and 3 months and 116,700 miles I decided I didn't want to risk it much longer. Motor factors sent the earlier water pump, so had to wait a day to complete the job. Alternator belt changed too. Running much quieter now as the belt had been squeaky for a good while.
  4. Hi owned my Skoda Octavia VRS m3.5 tsi Estate 2017 for a year and using the forum to find out how to update my map SD card, also used it when looking at buying a VRS. So thought it was about time I introduced myself. After owning Saab 93 manual turbo cars for the last 19 years I was looking for a replacement non saab. I settled on a manual petrol VRS estate. After looking for the right car for a while I posted a wanted post on a Facebook group and was offered this car as a private sale. It was in the spec and colour i was looking for. Stage one map 331hp dyno by Rtech Oil changed to liqui moly 5w 40 early last year Running on Michelin PS5s Panoramic sunroof, KESSY keyless system Smartlink activated for Android, Apple Carplay Alcantara and leather seats (electric front seats) Heated front seats Heated mirrors Heated windscreen Front & rear parking sensors and lane assist Reverse camera Black honeycomb grill & badges Scorpion cat back stainless exhaust Tyson turbo elbow RTS uprated clutch and flywheel and uprated dogbone New heat exchanger and silica bag removed. Since purchase I have removed Heko wind deflectors, tinted film from rear and side windows and VRS and Rtech badge from boot. Added space saver spare wheel and tool kit.
  5. Bosch A638S. Full set, 650 / 530 cm blades, straight swap from the box with according adapters.
  6. If you look for '443122235017' as it's a universal number it seems. The official part number used in the Octavia vRS - 1J2955113C This also matches - the MK4 GOLF. Part no. 1J1955113B. Plus the Leon, and Audi TT AUQ. Linkage ONLY Part No. 1J0955325A - Should you wish to renew it. I wouldn't worry about second hand. For the sake of £25, it's worth a punt. MK2 1ZU will not fit. When stripping, did you remove the spindles and clean them up? As you will find 3 washers, 2 orings and 1 circlip. It's worth doing that. If my memory is correct. I'm sure you can open up the motor and clean it out and regrease. Those arms, make sure they are straight and the rubber parts all greased too. If you followed a guide, I'm sure you would've done this. I would probably get another set and just swap over the motor and keep the original linkage. Some on ebay for sale: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/406534243168 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/286879711130 There are loads of people who strip these on the FB group, so you can always get one. I just noticed this. Take out the WHOLE unit, and strip it down on a bench and regrease.
  7. I don't know this for certain but when I searching for a new 'base' I could only find the lhd option; searching for the rhd version (1u2 instead of 1u1) I drew a blank. If that's a correct understanding you won't find a new one (unless you're lucky and find an NOS one) so you'll have to check on breakers for a used one. @Dean is a good source of mk1 info; hopefully he'll step in.
  8. So, it appears to be related to the "Recuperation" setting in the infotainment. When set to "Low" the experience is much improved (although not perfect). When it's on "Auto" the brakes are horrendous, to the point it's embarrassing as I keep having to apologise to passengers for the jerky braking. Must be a fault if no one else is reporting this.
  9. Yes I saw that catalog, with the exploded diagram of the linkage, with the main crossmember(?) refered to as the 'base'. I have no idea whether the motor is old and tired, or the linkage has something restricting movement. I want to buy a complete assembly really, cos someone here said setting up a new motor to a linkage is a pain in the ass. When I had a go at servicing it, I didn't get the whole thing out; I just used a wire brush, isopropyl then silicon grease. And checked the connector. Could be more grit/obstruction round the back which you can't really get to without removal. I think it's the linkage; if I push the wiper arm, it gets it moving. Don't point me in the direction of the relay! That's another can of worms
  10. @joek666 that might just be a brake splash guard that has rotted enough to break free - a friend with a 2019 VW T-Roc has already had to replace both front brake splash guards due to them "departing" the car.
  11. Coded as 2610 on the download release which would be newer than the one @MartiniB has posted up and what I downloaded from that. I'll be told if I'm wrong 😉. The other one was ECE 26 this one is ECE 26 / 27. Will let MartiniB post up the file links but this is different to the one posted up in the summer. Will download the one that better pertains to the UK and test tomorrow. Downloading the all Europe one at the moment. Looks like they updated their library 🫡. Still life in the updates.
  12. Hope you get it fixed soon. Folks had a 1.9tdi fabia Mk1 (not VRS) but it shifted when you wanted it. I ended up getting it when they stopped driving. Always put a smile on my face when it left the boy racers standing. Probably one of the most fun cars I have driven plus used to get 60mpg on average. A lot better than my 1.6tdi octavia. Good luck Alasdair
  13. Looks like MIB2 update is published now - currently downloading ECE 1 2026.2 (CW 6/2026) from the Skoda update portal...
  14. Just ask them. As my Kodiaq was still under warranty when it reached 45000km, I had it done by my dealer. I clearly asked them to clean the Haldex pump and its filter. I also ask them some pictures, which they did. 😉
  15. Well, here is my answer/findings as I've been through this "is it the right version of Haldex fluid". I sent away for the G 060 175 A2 Haldex fluid for my daughter's May 2019 SEAT Cupra's front diff Haldex service, and was sent G 065 175 A2! I dug deep and discovered that the Febi offering covers both these VAG Haldex fluid part numbers, but certain marques, for a car built at that date used different fluids if you go by the parts catalogue. I put that down to a possibility that different VAG marques use a different (licensed) manufacturer for these Haldex designed items and so maybe different materials get used. The H&S statement on the G 060 175 A2 container covers some different chemicals to the container for the G 065 175 A2. So, having got that info, I requested that my seller provided me with what I had ordered and paid for - which they did. Bottom line, go with which Haldex fluid your local Skoda dealership says is correct for your car, I've found in recent years that VAG parts departments are not meant to just "hand over" part numbers, so you would probably need to offer them both p/n and let them tell you which is correct for your car.
  16. Thanks. That gives me more to go on. I appreciate your help.
  17. I'm going to see them as planning anyway to change our nearly 8 year old Karoq.
  18. Shards of metal are never good. Think the only place they could come from is turbo. If it is then you will have to clean everything up including intercooler before replacing. Then I would do an oil/filter change and then another at say 150/200 miles in case theres anything that could damage new turbo left in system. Normally when turbo goes theres loads of smoke unless its the turbo veins that have disentegrated and seals are still fairly intact. Had a quick look online and the turbo seems to be around £200 new which is fairly reasonable. Neighbour have a people carrier and their turbo was just under £1000 plus fitting and that was at a very reasonable garage. Alasdair
  19. I've decided to go Powerflex (easier to install than OEM) Getting fitted this coming Friday
  20. Given the number of problems you have stated, I'd be inclined to reject the car. I'm not sure if you have to give them one chance to put the problems right but given the extent of them, the car cannot be considered fit for purpose. I would write to them now stating that you have rejected the car and ask them to supply you with another one or give you a full refund. This may get them to book you in with a courtesy car more quickly but be prepared to go through with the rejection. You simply shouldn't have to put up with this build quality.
  21. youre not fitting an a4 rear axle to a fabia
  22. Get an Ibiza 6J or polo 6r/c one off eBay
  23. Contact Haldex Repairs, they'll confirm . It's not in their interest to sell you the wrong parts. 👍
  24. The problem turned out to be a bad seal of the fuel pressure regulator onto the fuel rail, I eventually noticed diesel dripping from that spot. Frustratingly three garages I took the car to couldn't see this obvious sign, I thought I might have been going mad. I ended up taking it to a well reputed Skoda guy far away (Tadhg O'Riordan in Kanturk) and he saw the problem straight away and fixed it in an afternoon for €80!
  25. Maybe ordering a kit from a company that specialises in such?......maybe like this lot.... Gen 4 Ultimate Service Kit for VW Audi Seat Skoda – Haldex Parts and ECU Repairs by Auto Fault Finder Ltd Not sure about your 2019 car but I think the older Haldex unit's had a dry fill capacity of 750ml ? Service fill would be less. Differential will take a litre though. Definitely worth doing .
  26. This is why it would be really helpful if everyone with the same problem could post a photo here. Keep us informed of any updates
  27. Sorry to hear about that. Surely if people have had them replaced under warranty, then Skoda UK have it on record?
  28. @travs I would pay it as quick as you can. It should be £620. I think it's because it was taxed twice in the first year for twelve months. Moving the ecs to Sept from March,so your five years of ecs have been 21-25 tax years instead of 22-26 tax years It will be interesting what it is next year, My guess will be a straight £195. I think the clue is the 6 month d/d payment compared to paying it in option 1 Was it £600 last March? or £341 in Sept for 6 month?
  29. Pop the quarter panel trim off on both sides and check the quarters while hosing the tail light. I would suspect the passenger side rear tail light is leaking. I’ve had to silicone the entire light back in to fix leaks. New gaskets made no difference. Will just make changing a bulb eventually a bit of a chore but at least tue car will be dry in the meantime
  30. Beyond looks, it makes wonders to keep the vehicle in order. I am a 'converted, as I have seen that a good coating protects the skin of the car much more than just "shine"* Unfortunately I do not have the tools of place where to do this myself, but I was lucky to find very good professionals at this, and they do not overcharge me as I also give them some work from third parties ... * to give you an idea, years ago I had to "resuscitate" a W126 which had been sleeping for years in a enclosed are where they were also doing paint and metal work ... paint, but also glass and chrome had all a "crusty" feel, like sandpaper. Luckily no stain or damage to the finish, but horrible to see and touch. My man looked at it, frowned a little (always does it!), said "I will need a couple days more than the usual", and returned the Merc looking like it came out of the showroom ... marvelous. Yes, I believe in good detail and proper "waxwork" 😁
  31. Changed the gaiter today. Old one was starting to peel on the corners. Got a nice black leather mk7 golf one from @tombee Dismantling from car was pretty straight forward. Taking the knob off the top of the gaiter was challenging. A couple of screwdrivers prying key parts and some swearing was required. Also managed to push the button in when doing it which the manual says is a no no and you need a special tool to reset it. Turns out you can flip the top off and reach in with a screwdriver to reset it. The golf gaiter is bigger than the superb one so had to cut it down a bit. And the original is stapled on to the frame. I doubt it would have taken more staples as it seems a bit brittle. And I don’t have a stapler. So superglue and some pegs to hold it all in place was the method I went for. Had to pleat in some corners but kept that to the front so it can’t be seen in the car. Then made the schoolboy error of not putting the metal ring on before the knob. Doh. All in all wasn’t too bad and really pleased with the look. A note for those with the new P switch on top of the gearbox. If your gaiter is a bit baggy as mine is now, it can get trapped between the shaft and the switch and make it so the switch doesn’t press and you can’t get the key out the ignition. Some careful positioning of the gaiter and it seems to be all Good.
  32. Hello, just thought I would say hello as I am new to this website. I currently drive a VW Golf GTi Mk3 1996 but have just bought myself a Skoda Fabia Estate 2011, nice low milage - logbook says grey but I think it's a blue! The car needs a bit of work (paint mainly) as the previous owner didn't know the width of the car and or garage opening 😉. I need to possibly get a Skoda part so will post in an area that I have already managed to read on-line. Thanks All
  33. The Alcantara side and top items for the gear knob have arrived, just got to wait for the Alcantara gaiter to arrive But I am happy how the colour matches the steering wheel.
  34. UPDATE: appointment mid february for an update of ALL control units. There's an entire package from Skoda available now that they gonna load on my car. We shall see if it solves the issues. Would be nice. I have 2 days of long drives planned already right after the procedure. Once 2x210km and one 2x270km. That should be enough to figure out if it's solved, or reproduces.
  35. I'll say the same thing as I always do - research on IDA and PVD websites for someone near you; at least there is an amount of training/validation given there is a variety of skills/abilities in an unregulated industry. PVD (Professional Detailers and Valeters) requires detailers to: Get the majority of their income from Detailing Have been in business at least 12 months sufficient insurance for PL insurance (including vehicle under charge) Pass an entry test to prove capability. I was IDA (International Detailing Association) certified and validated which needs to be done by an IDA-trainer. Not quite so stringent on some of the business aspects. But this sort of training gives people the understanding of what they're doing and why etc. It sets a standard baseline.
  36. I have just coated mine in Fusso 12 month Wax, have to say it’s pretty good so far. I did the whole, wash, iron fall out, clay bar and polish before applying the wax. Doing detailing on the side it’s worth the money over a ceramic but time will tell
  37. Absolutely. Love it when it’s clean but it does get mucky easily! Especially living in the countryside. luckily for me the previous owner had them refurbed. One is kerbed a little and you can see the original colour underneath. But they’re a nice dark grey with silver metal flake in. Look really smart. And they’ve painted the calipers red too which I also really Like. I’ll get some pictures close up when it’s clean.
  38. Some pictures and videos from my trip to Spitfire Raceway at the weekend. Darkside Developments were fabricating parts still on Wednesday and getting them up to me and my friend for Thursday and we were still at it till around 10pm on Thursday getting the car ready to drive down first thing Friday morning. Ended up being 1200 miles in total down and up. Had no meth as the tank decided to leak and running the low boost map of 2.4 bar but was running some spicy fuel and it was clean as down the strip with pretty much no smoke that some people asked if it was petrol 😂 had a good close race with the M140 but the hand was hovering over the meth switch as there was still some in the lines 🫣 but still got there first by 0.024
  39. This is the first time this has happened on either of our cars but Sue's is used very infrequently so doesn't get topped up often. Going to give both a scoot forthwith 😊
  40. Just a quick update - I finally swapped my badge over a few weeks ago and thought I'd post a picture in case anyone is interested. I'm well chuffed with the end result
