Featured Replies

I had an OTA update notification today as well. The infotainment runs version 1940, the update is version 1985.

MY 2024, non FL.

I'll go through the process of updating and will report back. :)

  • Personally, not really in the spirit of the forum to be selling the update file.  Also, with no documentation, or indeed any reference to this update on the web, I would not install it at this point.

  • Just for clarification, in the past I supplied a lot of files for free. The costs that I made then we're not high and I could cover it with other works   However since last year the costs fo

  • I have now sourced the 1985 update package and installed successfully.  Everything seems fine but got a long journey tomorrow which will confirm its stability.  I’ll happily share it FOC over the week

Yours is a 2024 model.  I wonder if earlier models do not have enough storage to hold an update before applying it.

@386ka I was told in another thread that all 2024 cars are FL.

It would seem that you have helped disprove that – thanks. In your VIN, is the "NX" followed by "8RY"?

That is what I was thinking as well.

However, I thought (and could be wrong) that owners of Seat/VW cars with the same infotainment system had been receiving larger OTA updates for 2020->2023 cars. If that's the case maybe Skoda have just made the decision not to carry out these updates proactively OTA.

When I spoke to my dealer last week about booking the car in for a service they said they would not apply the 1985 update unless Skoda had marked the car as needing it to be applied. They would not proactively apply 1969/1985.

FL are cars after summer shutdown. So all cars produced from 08.2024. Until 07.2024 those are pre-FL cars still.

I have received OTA update today also. Car is made in 2024, but it is not FL. So it is brand new. I am in Bosnia if that makes any difference. Also Skoda connect is still active.

Current software version is 1969.

Update is still downloading and it is 1674 MB in size. We will see.

So FL cars are likely MY2025, only way to be sure is to check the MY digit in the VIN i.e.digit 10.

Anyone in UK had the OTA upgrade to 1985 yet?

I downloaded the update yesterday and was asked to enter an S code or S pin. I don't remember entering a code before uploading.

What is it and do I need to enter it.

Update went smooth, it was around 20 mins or so. Ignition was on, but motor was not running. Will test it later to see if everything is fine.

You should have created an S-PIN when you set yourself up as the primary user, if you don't recall it, you can reset it from within the MySkoda app

After the proccess started and the HU went blank screen I got out of the car and locked it like normal. Maybe 5-10 seconds later the HU woke up and started updating.

So it worked with ignition off.

That was lucky. You should allow the process to complete before keying out or turning the ignition off, if it had failed you could have ended up with a dud system.

I did the update as well. The directions were not to use the vehicle and exit the vehicle. Also, the installation prompt comes up after turning off the ignition.

I left and locked the car. The next morning I was greeted with a message that the update was installed.

I don't see any noticeable differences - except that it maybe boots up faster. But it was fine before as well.

Hardware version H61.

Has the instruction to "get out of the vehicle" been there for previous generations of updates, or is this new to 1985?

I was the same ,I switched off the ignition ,went back half hour later it was done with no problems.

I've never seen it before so it must be a new instruction. I've done updates twice now and never seen it.

hi guys, after the update android auto and carplay no longer go full screen, any ideas?

Yes, there is a menu option within Android Auto settings to enable disable application shortcuts, this removes the ones from the bottom of the screen and reinstates the ones down the side.

I apologise, I did not explain myself well... they are no longer as wide as the screen... they now have two vertical black bands on the sides.

I wonder if it depends on the source of the update.  If it is OTA then the update is stored in the head unit (presumably) and the head unit would be able to switch on and update.  If the update is on a USB stick the car may require power to run the USB sub system and access the update.

And as I say that this afternoon I got a message regarding an OTA update of 164x Mb and that it would download in the background blah blah blah..

It'll be interesting to see how long it takes for it to download.

For Android Auto to work normally, it must be removed from the home screens and opened through the icon.
