  2. Good advice above. Best thing for this is to find a good local tyre specialist with Hunter system who know what they are doing. Some of them will deal with local motorsport enthusiasts which can be a sign that they have a good reputation. How often you need to do it depends on how many potholes etc you hit! My local place only charge £50 if you're getting it done when buying tyres, so given the price of tyre these days it's probably worth doing if it avoids the risk of ruining a set of tyres due to bad settings.
  3. Have asked Skoda UK directly for assistance. Haven't had a 'no' yet but haven't been asked for mileage yet....
  4. I connected on my mk4 2020 all 3 to gateway t32 connector but I got plans to connect red wire to fuse box probably when I will be doing heated steering wheel so you can use both methods

  6. @Evolution13 I get it that it should be on a recall, but I was trying to point out that if people were to submit their cars earlier for servicing rather than, in some cases, penny-pinching, then maybe faults like that Mercedes with the £6,000 cost for a replacement electric motor might be avoided. I say 'penny-pinching' because it seems that some regard EVs as offering much cheapness and then go about squeezing as much more cheapness of ownership as is humanly possible. On the other hand, you have the more mechanically sympathetic owners of cars who never attempt to be first away from the traffic lights or use excessive acceleration and put their cars (as is the case with lots of ICE owners) in for oil changes, etc., well before the makers' recommended schedules. They also tend to catch the early warning signs of other problems before they become a major source of aggravation.

  9. Sorry for the late reply. At first there was air in the system but after i bled it there was none left, tough the air might have been present because i might have loosen the bleed valve a bit too much for the first bleed where i used an air compressor, the second time i used the trusty 2 person method cand properly loosened the valve. I have a recording in which u can faintly hear the spring sound.

  11. Got the blind spot project to 95% complete this afternoon. All wires run in and loomed up to protect them. Boot trim came out to run cables and all power and indicator lights connected up and all working well. Not the most elegant finish just yet but this is proof of concept stage. Final bits to finish this bit is to tap in to the rear light feeds so the BSD indicators flash at you if you are indicating whilst something is in your blind spot. Just waiting on some posi taps to come for the connection points. Then if I’m happy with how it operates , next step is some experiments with the multimeter to check how the standard LEDs operate and then see if they will run the OEM BSD indicator LEDs. If they do then wires will be run in to the doors and OEM LEDs installed in the mirror housings so that it looks standard.

  13. That -40C seems to be a default value, ie in your case that sensor/wiring is not sending back a temperature signal - ie open circuit due to a broken wire or similar. How do I know that, well I have an issue with a post cat Lambda probe, and while I was sniffing around with VCDS (August 2015 VW Polo 1.2TSI 110PS), I discovered that the temperature (actual) of the radiator return coolant was -40C in summer with a warmed up engine - Crasher put me right to that, just a memory location that should not be viewable on that car/engine combo. I'd guess that the extremely high temperature is just due to a short circuited lead(s). I think that means that the temperature sensor element will be NTC. That issue with the high pressure fuel rail bolt breaking - you should really report this to DVSA - you should be able to find a link on their site for reporting this sort of safety related issue as high pressure petrol spraying out into an engine bay while the engine is running - or not, is not really acceptable, DVSA know about this issue but will never do anything about it in terms of demanding that VW Group perform a full re-call and rectification program, really because not enough people are reporting this. Exactly what is the age of your car? Edit:- ignore that request for car age, you'd already given that out as being 2016!
  14. A recall is what is required. A very obvious manufacturing fault. Like with VW Group fuel rail bolts. These are not checked at dealership servicing. Safety critical but VW do not seem to think so, or do the DVSA. A warranty longer than 3 years is what a EQC owner needs, or and BEV owner keeping them out of the manufacturers warranty. But in other countries there might be court actions or the Lemon Law.
  15. @Evolution13 the thought behind the post is that just maybe, some of these problems would be prevented if the cars were sent for servicing at regular intervals. Surely cooling of the battery and motor is one of the critical aspects on a EV. There must be some evidence in the cooling system etc of issues like that in the video.
  16. @Graham Butcher what do you think that makes that video anything to do with servicing? It is a design, manufacturing or material fault. Servicing of an EV motor is not going to involve opening a motor like that. There is servicing of parts as with an ICE vehicle. But tell me more than cam belts or changing water pumps has you into an engine in 100,000 km these days?
  17. No worries, hope you get it sorted 👍 Seems to be a VAG issue. I noticed that there’s even a steering lock emulator to get around this problem…but it seems to involve a bit of tinkering and still needs coding to the car.
  18. Oh, IT IS correct IT IS now a FeC, Patch Unit
  19. Everyone who is seeing this problem should report it to the DVSA https://www.gov.uk/vehicle-recalls-and-faults/report-a-serious-safety-defect That way , there's at least a chance that VAG will be forced to admit there's a problem
  20. That’s what I heard too, but 4x4 cars have it! I believe I should coding something more, like simulating the presence of a 4x4 traction, changing parameters of abs, traction control etc. too risky imho
  21. My brand new Enyaq 85 SEL has the same issue the driving data, trip etc will not show on my virtual cockpit. The left and right buttons change the screen layout but the scroll wheel is inactive whether you scroll or press it nothing happens. When I am driving the trip data shows but still the scroll wheel does nothing. Then when I have come to a standstill this data disappears and I am left with a blank screen. I have done a soft reset. This made no difference. I am taking the car back to the dealership in the morning. If they can not fix it then I will expect a replacement vehicle. I did not pay £37600 for a car that doesn’t work

  23. hi i found 5Q1953549F wich was taken from 5Q1953507GF octavia mk4 but is from LHD , automatic gearbox but my car is RHD, manual gearbox can this difference cause errors?thx
  24. And you know this how?
  25. Tell them that knock sensors and the ECU hardware and software that interacts with them react in fractions of a second, so their argument is utter tosh.
  26. Reported to the dealer that it was still stopping on E5 and their reaction is that 350 miles is not enough time/ distance for the engine to relearn and it would need 3-3500 miles. If it relearns and the result of that is the behaviour goes away then what happens when I switch back to E10…… does it relearn again and the behaviour reappears? The price difference is too much to continue to use E5 and the car should run on E10 (as stated in the filler cap) the latest communication reinforces the view that we get rid and move away from Skoda/VAG altogether. Daughter has a manual A3 with an earlier version (68 reg) and it has never done it.

Try Blackrod Service (or MOT) Station. Have used them in the past for MOTs and service/repair work. Have always been fine to deal with.
  29. I'm from Austria... the parts were way too expensive. 5Q0 is rubbish, just upgrade to 2Q0. Much better.
