  2. Galvanisation is possible only when is steel in contact with aluminium, moisture and salt. On my car and on any car with steel subframe bolt is not corroded. Anyway for my own sake, i will change both bolts by myself, not only one of them. Check by your vin https://recall.skoda-auto.com/004/en-com
  3. Just a little update. After all the information and cross referencing part numbers I’ve just fitted a Blue Print ADV182301 fuel filter. Fits perfect for my housing and at sub £10 from Amazon can’t grumble.
  4. I stopped using Eco mode as the lack of engine braking when coasting meant I was using the brakes more - it made no measurable difference to mpg but used more brakes, so it seems to me like Eco mode will increase running costs without decreasing emissions?
  5. Swap the injectors before to minimise any potential problems damaged injector seats etc ground fault could cause wiring to arc From experience Look at the minimum deviation values and choose to replace two at a time

  7. My daughter has got the Kamiq SEL with 18" alloys and no spare. We removed a wheel and test fitted. An 18" alloy fits into the spare wheel well but is a tight fit. We then bought a foam insert with a sissor jack on Ebay - not even VAG - and it works o.k. I don`t know if y 17" alloy may fit.

  9. Hi all I'm back again thanks to everyone that contributed to my other thread you were all very helpful, now this spaceback drives lovely (having said that due to problems ive only done 20 miles in it) so i decided to do a oil change which all went well except i couldn’t see the level so worried about it not being enough put 500ml more and i could see it i(i put a 4lts in in the beginning, then added the 500ml, but while i was sorting out i had to move the car a few meters to let my wife’s car in and inadvertently left the dip stick out and oil came spouting out so Ive read a bit about it pcv valve and a few other things it could be, if anyone has done one or knows some information that might benefit me it would be greatly appreciated. 12. Welcome to the forum. Yes, I have seen other posts with similar clutch issue without loss of fluid. Very likely to be an internal fault with master or slave cylinder seals - best to try replacing the master first - especially if slave is the internal type.
  13. The 12 plate has about 85,000 or so, not much leg for the age. Back story: I just retrofitted MIB2 High , large screen and camera, heated and electric front seats along with hill hold assist in the wifes A3 8V and, as you know, the 3T doesnt have the car play or the goodies of the later car; mind you, it does have electric heated and ventilated seats.... You are probably right though, no AdBlue or low pressure EGR to deal with like the 187 EA288. But I can't take it (12 plate) into even outer London without getting clobbered by the ULEZ tax. Incidentally make sure when paying that tax, you confirm it is the official government site you are logged into. I went on to pay in a hurry and didn't notice, I paid £2 more for the tax and it turns out it was a scam so I had to pay a £90 fine too for non payment as they didnt forward the payment to the TFL site. Won't make that mistake again. How reliable has the TSi been for you?
  14. @whitevx did you fix the fault?
  15. Not sure if this is relevant but: I sent a route to the car yesterday that didn't arrive. When I got to my destination I thought I'd give the Pay to Park a try. Oddly it told me I had to be the primary user. Apparently I've been operating as a guest, which is something the car has done itself. Logged in as Primary User & sent another route, which this time arrived. So may be worth checking your are actually the Primary User & haven't been mysteriously switched to a guest account, which obviously wouldn't be connected to the app. I'm guessing this switching is what produces the random "Your settings have changed" message.
  16. Great. I must have the limited edition 2 screen version, where from some angles you have see a line down the middle.

  18. @Michalson Is this a totally different car from the one you posted about in June that was running a Stage 2 remap?
  19. Scrap the above. Just had another look and reckon I have got it. Compared the two and had a closer look. Absolutely choked with cold/flue so brain not working as well as it should. Thanks for the reply Alasdair
  20. Update 1. ŠKODA Customer services replied Friday with email address of VAG Digital Services customer support. Emailed them and got a reply Saturday evening requesting details of how I was using the function. Replied with step by step details of actions taken in the App and screen prints of each step outcome.
  21. Yes found it but also another from febi. Hatboy installed his downwards and febi more horizontal so not sure which way is correct. On the hatboy one it looked like it needed lifted to fit ball joint and febi needed pushed down. Cant tell on mine as both centres of bushes have parted so they were loose and no way of telling Alasdair
  22. @zeta_91 Thanks for the response, but unfortunately, this is unrelated to a leak around the exhaust or its sensors. I haven't heard a similar sound from any diesel engine.
  23. On my EA888/CCZA Gen 2 engine, I have very rough idle and I get a persistent check engine light with a P0441 code, for incorrect EVAP purge flow. When I bought the car in January this year, the error appeared then disappeared after a longer drive, but then came back. The original N80 valve was clicking, and read it should be replaced. 5 months ago, I bought this aftermarket valve which, at the time, was the only unit I could find which had the plastic tubing already sealed onto it: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/168055772718 The original OEM valve had similar plastic tubing and the same connections. I fitted the new assembly and reset the code, but the same code keeps re-appearing after about 500 miles. I check the lines between the intake manifold, purge vavle, charcoal canister and fuel tank line are secure and reset the code, but it still re-appears. My friend noticed this port on the right of the intake manifold is open, as shown in the photo. Someone on this thread: https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/516628-swirl-flap-solenoid-pic/ suggests that this port is usually blanked off from factory, but I can't find a source to back this up. There's a suggestion from Google AI that the open port means the vacuum pressure is being vented to atmosphere and this affects the EVAP flow, but again there's no source, though it would explain the rough idle if there's a vacuum leak. There are bungs available for blanking off open ports but I'm unsure if this will worsen the issue. There's no vacuum pressure when you put a finger over the port. I checked PCV pressure by loosening the oil filler cover and there's a gentle suction. I don't have VCDS so can't test the purge actuator or read further codes beyond what my basic OBD reader can see. Can anyone suggest further troubleshooting steps? Suggestions include replacing the charcoal canister or the fuel cap. The mechanic wanted about £200 to replace just the purge valve.
  24. Hi, do I understand correctly that I need to downgrade the map version to an older one and try again? But where can I get a version that will allow me to do this? MIB3 won't let me, unless I go through the service menu. Do you happen to have such a version?
  25. A 24 year old car might have had several interiors since it left the factory.

  27. TPMS,s really only became common because of Run Flat tyres and BMW / MINI drivers not noticing a flat or a blow out. A worry that a Yeti driver is not aware they have a puncture. They obviously should be aware no functioning TPMS when never testing or resetting pressures or replacing tyres and resetting the TPMS.
  28. That is a really interesting find. Good to see that the odd rarity still crops up. Looking at that I would say that they are genuine as they match the factory seat stitching for a pre facelift. As far as I'm aware the Edition 100 was based on the facelift and the seat stitching style was different between the two. Odd that the car doesn't appear to have rear parking sensors which I'm certain was standard on the elegance.
  29. If your profile is correct, and you have a 2012 Superb then that will be the h3 main beam bulb. Put your reg into https://www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk/ and it will give you the correct bulbs for your car.
  30. You can have the data; I’ll take a look at it later.
