  2. Hope you get sorted 👍🤞 Let us know how you get on. Delivery will always be a killer from some of the European countries - it sucks.
  3. New upgraded bolts told to have better anticorrision protection. Some polimer shield. But i think Inox bolts will be better. Earlier versions like on xour car had 4 bolts holding steering rack. Mqb2 have only 2 of them. Economy?
  4. Thanks, do you know what I need to change? Remove byte 7 but do I need to change anything else?
  5. We can find you a crashed S3 and get the subframe from that. Don't forget to change your signature - standard rear pads, RS3 brake ducts, Rieger rear diffuser, the new droplinks/LCAs/FARB and, of course, the modified helicoil gearbox casing.
  6. Cairus is the person I'd tag to ask about any electrical issues, or DTCs. Seemingly while it's normally white for a 230 and red for a 245, there are exceptions. A definitive answer will be found on the rear axle - vented, or solid. I wouldn't say it's a bargain, but provided everything checks out, that's absolutely on the cheaper end of the market, IMO. In reality, there isn't much of a price difference between the 245 and 230 (or, indeed, the GTI and GTI PP) /4/5. Wait and see what codes are produced. It's entirely possible, but I'd be very suprised if someone can't fit two jubilee clips and a bit of corrugated pipe.
  7. Problem sold! Just do manual synchro point calibration/not with one click app! Thats it.

  9. Some noise has returned - not in normal driving; car feels solid (especially the rear droplinks - you can feel the solid transfer) and the solid rear bush in the LCA. Going over most speedhumps is also fine - only the harsh "brickwork" ones seem to really bring out the sound. Unfortunately part of my mind thinks that it might also be the ABR no it has been taken apart and put back on the car so its been moved from the factory application. Mind is drifting towards an alu subframe which means I'll get clamps for the H&R and have that swapped all in one go.

  12. Good political mood gauging. The Express, Mail and Torygraph have long since ceased being newspapers and become political hearders. Thinking of starting my usual thread on the Budget ie 2026 Budget predictions. KPMG have their out, bit weak i thought, will look put fir pwc's which i should see early as an Alumni. I like the recently added footnote to AI which states this might be a load of *******s.
  13. Spreading rumours is a way of The Government flying kites. Who started the rumour as far as you can see @lol-lol the Daily Express. AI might have it repeated as started by you.

  15. Biulding rumours that pay per mile we be extended to all cars. It is expected that excuse duty on fuel will be cut in the budget but to keep the Treasury receipts up pay per mile will be for all cars. Sounds fairer I reckon.
  16. We learnt quite quickly that air cooled EV battery packs were deficient in several ways. Long been an engineering known issue. I had several triple cylinder engined motorbikes and the cylinder in the middle in these air cooled engines was oft a problem. Air cooled engines in beatles and Porsches getting thermal stress cracks between the inlet and exhaust valves too. Just amazing how long Nissan kept on with the deficient LEAF 1 and 2 basic design. Cars would Rapidgate when second chargibg on a trip ie so hot the the system would throttle to such an extent you coukd have a 4 course meal waiting for it to get enough charge. My 52 KWh Zoe would not even hit 50 KWh charging and if ambient was more than 40 C, more common with Global warming, well forget it. Problems solved with liquid colling and charge curves are twice as quick and flatter even in very hot weather.
  17. I noticed a knocking sound when I drive a little harder and when changing gears from first to second in my Karoq 1.5 tsi (manual), and knocking sounds over bumps and the speed bump, I did a movement test but in place, is it normal for the engine to move like this and knock on the mount or should I replace it? it's a hydraulic mount. Video is on my car. Pictures are from web, new mount distance. https://photos.app.goo.gl/LkhX6nHXugVktT3Q6

  19. The real issue here is that the big push towards electrification is happening before we have actually learned all there is to know about their varied failure modes and how to effectively repair them safely at the component level rather then complete assembly level. Governments are trying to run before they have effectively learnt to walk. There is another good garage that can work on EVs in London and they have their own YT channel and website . I have been watching their channel for a while now, and they are very impressive, but we need many more garages with their skills, and I have no doubt that we will get there eventually, but not before we will have many significant issues along the way www.ogsmechanics.com www.youtube.com/@OGSMechanics

  23. Hello Today i did with my obd eleven transmission synchro points calibration. Superb 2021 dq381 7 speed. I did with one click app. Engine oil has 90c and i did this when i come home from 50km long trip. There was some noise from transmission (normal) when procedure starts. The gearbox light error (or something) come to the dash. After obdeleven app shows procedure complete the error was gone. All normal. Car wont go in anny gear now. So i turn engine off and back on. The car now go in D and R. BUT there is now error. ERROR/gearbox Driving in D is only available until the engine is switched off." Pleas help. That is the last scan when turn engine of and back on.
  24. Totally agree, Found the 940 easiest car I have ever worked on. Its even better than the 850 as you can almost climb into engine bay with all the extra space. Do miss my RWD cars plus the B230ft engine was indestructable and non interference as well. Miss my turbo tank. Will get another some day but they are getting expensive and hard to find. Sold mine a few years ago as rust killed it but guy who bought it has a collection of old police cars he rents out to movie makers and needed the engine and ecu. Alasdair
  25. Nice wheels - but I can see how they might easily get kerbed, especially on 19s!
  26. If you do intend to get an inspection, I'd suggest one by an independent Engineer - although rather a closed stable door scenario. Would you still be able to reject after this proposed inspection?
  27. When were the spark plugs replaced, or the air filter, or even inspected? What age of car having done how many miles?
  28. The issue of EV repairs are where you are in the UK, & transporting EV,s to repairers / distances. If you are lucky to be near ones that can do MAJOR repairs then good. As it is just getting EV,s or PHEV,s serviced or minor work might require using Main Dealers unless you are fortunate to have independent places or you can maybe use a Mobile EV Technician.
  29. Would touch a passive cooled LEAF Mk 1 or 2. Shame as a British made car and I wanted to be patriotic and was ready to order the 60 KWh rather than the 39 KWh one but they were not available. Good informative video but going to further damage the already shaky reputation of the first two models of the LEAFs. Zoe's active air cooling better than LEAF passive system but now, and for several years all EVs are liquid cooled. Much faster charging is result. Similar happened with air and liquid cooled ICE cars and liquid cooling was a quantum change.
  30. I would love to keep it, but with the miles I do I can’t stomach the fuel cost. Granted, I won’t yet turn to diesel sensibility, but the petrol Octavia seemed a step in the right direction. It is a proper machine, and it’s so much easier to work on. I know the answer already, so this is more rhetorical, but why can’t they just make cars like they used to🙁 I’ll be getting one again at some point but a manual t5 is like hens teeth , so I’m bound to regret selling mine
