  1. If you decide on pulling the fuse, it's fuse ZC65 10A. Behind the glovebox. Bottom right corner of the fuse holder. If I come across a solution to turn on the 'memory' for driving modes like for the lane assist, I'll let you know!
  2. Here is how i changed my switch on Skoda Superb 3 2016.

The racer that I had before the Dawes mountain bike was an Emelle!!! I traded it for half of a new but hooky Epson NLQ80 dot matrix printer back when they cost hundreds of pounds. I then had to spend something like £150 on a sheet feeder for it. Been through several printers since then but am very attached to the bike.
  4. You have to turn off the cruise control. It is only showing up if it is off from the blinkers stick.
  5. According to top of my Moll battery there are only 2 indicator colours, black and yellow. Black is good, yellow is knackered.

Thanks for all the contributions so far. To date, in popularity sequence, we have... Styling (looks, colours, and "Wow! Is that really a Skoda?") - 6 Power (performance, notably the VRS) - 4 ACC (esp. slow to halt & move when combined with DSG in traffic) - 2 Fuel efficiency (1.5 TSI) - 2 DCC - 1 DSG - 1 Memory seat - 1 Space (cabin & boot) -1 Value for money - 1
  7. Found this ref motorcraft batteries but probably same as for Moll So low charge.... What has probably happened is the battery self discharge over winter has led the battery management system state of charge calcs (SOC) to get out of whack, as it can't track self discharge current. So you need to recharge the battery fully, preferably using an external means. If you have a decent charger try recharging it first, a good 2–3 days will be required to fully recharge a lead acid battery, particularly if it has been partially discharged for an extended period. Take care to follow the instructions on the manual regarding charger connection. The negative lead MUST go on the earth tab at the bodywork end of the batteries negative lead. Alternatively, when driving, always turn on your headlights, overide any auto setting (last position) and maybe other consumers such as fan, heated rear window. This will force the battery management to charge the battery instead of allowing it drift along in micro hybrid mode. It will still take a long time for the battery to return to full SOC. Good luck
  8. Hi Alex, I suspect your battery has died - possibly from low use during the winter, there has been mention of a dodgy batch of Molls, but I think this faulty batch was from more than three years ago. Unfortunately there is no practical way to top-up the electrolyte in these batteries. I rather suspect your Dealer will say "consumer item, not covered under warranty" but ask anyway. I'd try charging it and giving it a test to see what happens - also check the alternator output voltage at the battery terminals.
  9. The Accord had a drag cd of 0.30 this generation Octavia is at 0.25, so it cuts through the air much cleaner. The downside to this is when you open the window especially rear ones the whole airflow is completely disrupted, it has a term the Helmholtz resonance. Much like blowing over a bottle top the air resonates at a high frequency, in a car it's more a thump due to the volume of air being displaced inside the vehicle.
  10. It's normal. If you look in the rear view mirror you'll see it disappear quickly showing it's water vapour. It'll stop when the exhaust system warms up completely.
  11. Well I have run for 3 years on the same tyre and same size (same engine too ) and that is not my experience. You will always get more grip on a new tyre to one that is completely worn, even if you replace it with the same. If I could not go with the PS4, for me it would be Continental premium contact 6, if not then the F1-AS5 (or Supersport for a summer-only tyre) Potenza would not figure.
  12. Bit more done.... I had the chance to buy a while ago a full set of Seat Surgeons leather trimmed door cards of a vRS the same age as mine. I'm in the minority that i only wanted the door cards, the impractical standard Fabia vRS cloth seats are part of the cars appeal to me, but the factory door cards are dull as ditchwater. Speaking of water as well, any car that has suffered from leaky rear door carrier seals will have watermarked cloth doorcards which are impossible to remove... so.... Here they are, deep cleaned and fitted. I have ordered today from TPS the drivers electric window switch surround and door pull surround as i think they are marked so new ones of those will be fitted soon. While the front door card was off i had chance to fit the door mirror that i had built up with the carbon dipped base. The carbon dipping that has been done so nicely by Bold Hydrographics will be the last carbon dipped items on the car as i'm sad to report that the man behind Bold, James Bowld died suddenly late last year, so i'm spurred on to get the car finished to show off his craftsmanship in his memory. A good friend he had become, so very much RIP James. Matt
  13. Well, today was definitely a day of mixed emotions.... It was time to say goodbye to TIBET III, the third of my CR170 Yetis, TIBET I having been possibly the first CR170 to be ordered in the UK and I took delivery in December 2009. Following a change of jobs three years ago, a reasonable (for a diesel) commute was going to be a 4.5 mile commute so I bought a great little Citigo Monte Carlo for the commute and kept the Yeti for the longer trips. This was always going to be a temporary option as it didn't make much sense to run two cars - apart from my in built mechanical sympathy! I briefly looked at the possibilities of an Enyaq but the reduction in the government EV grant forced me back to Plan A - a Superb iV Sportline Plus. So, whilst the sorrow of seeing the Yeti (and Citigo) departing on a trailer in part exchange, I have now a beautiful Superb iV to learn all about. And there's a lot to learn! Now, if anyone want a brilliant, high spec Yeti (or a very nice Citigo!), best you get in touch with Caffyns Skoda at Tunbridge Wells. I doubt the will have it on the forecourt as it's 7 years old and completed a tad under 90k miles. As an L&K it has all the standard toys plus various other factory options and a Shark STS remap. Nothing has ever gone wrong with it (well, only an intermittent and untrue reversing light fail indication fail due to the LED bulbs), it averaged 47 mpg driven sensibly. Have fun, everyone with your Yetis, it is a truly brilliant piece of design and if they'd been an electric version, I would have had one in a heartbeat! Lots of good gen on this section of Briskoda - everyone's help and assistance has been really appreciated over the years.
  14. Just received an email from Superskoda saying that they are now to be known as Kopacek. Hopefully their customer service changes (for the better) too?
  15. Well the day finally arrived and the house in which I had a 40% stake completed today. Most of the money will be reinvested in our current home but I persuaded the other half that my 2010 Honda Civic had seen better days. So just 90 mins later I collected my red vRS that I had secured a few days earlier 😀 It’s the facelift hatchback model, oil burner, on a 67 plate and as far as I can tell completely stock apart from a spare wheel - where these standard? I would just like to say hello to everyone, no doubt as being new to Skoda ownership I shall have a few bone questions over the next few weeks as I get used to the car.
  16. There's no harm in doing a section/panel at a time. I plan on doing the wife's car like this. I'll wash as normal and decon say the offside doors and front wing, clay then polish and protect. Only advice I would give is on doing the next panels (a week or two later) be sure to tape the edge of the panel you did previously. More manageable this way.
  17. Small size, got one in mine. Keep the turds away or at least give them a harder time
  18. I did my first ride since last autumn today on my 30 year old much loved steed (26km) : https://www.retrobike.co.uk/threads/dawes-switchback-etc.240623/ It has 7 speed Shimano STI shifters and mine also finally bit the dust, bits for what are now classed as classic bikes (its the newest bike I ever had & still new to me) are stupidly expensive, I searched the length & breadth of the globe before finally finding what was claimed to be a NOS shifter in a Japanese bike parts shop, for the price with delivery I could have bought a new 28 thousand speed bike from Décathlon but I decided the bike was worth it as we have been round the world together. Its fitted & works fine but I was pretty cross to find it was a second hand unit, mind you they are superbly engineered & I doubt this one has done anywhere near the miles over 3 decades like my failed one had. There is nothing that I can see about a modern bike that would make me want to change unless it was for something a lot more sporting and light.
  19. Welcome to Briskoda. Enjoy the Octavia, they are fine cars, whatever the model! And Suffolk is one of my favourite counties!
  20. have you checked with Chain Reaction up there in nordy land? buddy told me they are good for equipment. @UndertheRadar link added to their shifter listing, in ascending price order. https://www.chainreactioncycles.com/mobile/gear-shifters?sort=pricelow
  21. Welcome to the forum, someone will be asking for pictures soon, so get snapping!!
  22. Welcome ba (to use the parlance of your location). Congrats on the new motor! I miss many about living in Suffolk, but driving there isn't one of them! I've had my fill of flooded, single-lane country roads
  23. I will check that too. thanks again!!
  24. I'm driving on the basic 205/55R17 tyres
  25. I have one, the small size is the one you’re wanting but make sure you get the steering wheel cover for it too so it doesn’t mark. When fitting or removing have the bar pointing towards your headunit direction or you’ll keep hitting the windscreen.
  26. I've put a set of ST lowering springs under my 1.0 estate. In my opinion one of the better handling cars I've owned. (Owned about 10 MK3's 2.0tdi, 1.6tdi, 1.0tsi, 1.4tsi and 1.5tsi, some manual, some DSG) Previous car was a Seat Ateca, a nightmare to drive! My mk4 now being a 1.0, lacking power, I throw it around every roundabout, playing with its balance, love it!
  27. i thought UK cars didn't get the daft sound actuator thingy?? Mine doesn't (Jan 21 car), but it does have a heated steering wheel.
  28. The 1.8 TSI definitely got the 7 speed gearbox. It does drive a bit different to the 6 speed since the clutches are basically like standard clutches whereas the 6 speed clutches are multi plate oil lubricated and so tend to slip more to smooth out drive uptake etc. It's funny how much false information floats around out there. Definitely not dry sump. Lol They actually have 2 oils in them. One for the gearbox (actually just standard manual gearbox oil) and one for the mechatronics (the green power steering/hydraulic fluid). It's possible yours needs the oil change but also possible it doesn't. Was a bit hit and miss! I just did a precautionary change on mine. Oil was fairly grotty and it's definitely driving super smooth (did before the change to be honest).
  29. I'm not sure there is a way at the moment for your profile to be saved with every key start. There are many other frustrated posts or threads saying the same. A few commentators suggested it might be to do with meeting emissions targets. I've not read that it can be coded out and coding things is now a bit more tricky as accessing these systems is a lot more secure, as VCDS can't be used much more and is being replaced with something called SFD: Some of the mods available:
  30. There do still seem to be issues with some cars with this engine, mine included. From new the car had great fuel economy and decent performance but was a bit rough pulling away in first gear. Garage suggested software update, car easier to drive afterwards but permanent 10% reduction in fuel economy and engine not quite as powerful feeling. Car will occasionally go to sleep for no apparent reason when stopped at junction, roundabouts etc. It did that a bit when it was new and still does it occasionally, not the best feeling in the world when your car just wants to have a nap and there is no easy way to get it moving again... It just seems to wake up again and away it goes. Even some people with the mark 4 model seem to have issues with this engine.
  31. One of the reasons for buying the Kamiq was the arrival of our dog, a Dalmatian, meant that the boot in the UP GTI just wasn't going to work. Having got a second dog (woking cocker spaniel) I decided the boot was getting too messy and covered in dog hair so researched boot liners. I splurged out on a Titan Boot liner with their additional bumper flap and cover for the back seats to stop the build up of Dalmatian slobber on the rear head rests. At £139 it's not cheap but the quality and fitment is top notch, it has velcro strips to hold it in place, although I added a couple of additional stick on velcro bits to ensure that the cover stayed in the boot pockets properly. Very pleased - comes in a variety of colours black, grey, navy, red I went for the light brown so the white fur doesn't show up so much - as they say Dalmatians on shed twice a year - for six months in the spring and for six months in the autumn!

I can understand why you might be worried as one of the threads is now 17 pages long, but as yours is a newer build I'd suggest it might not have any of the tech gremlins. Enjoy your first drive tomorrow man, exciting times!
  33. At last it’s properly prepared for family life; rubber mats and transmission tunnel mat installed and another good clean and protect completed. Orders done for many goodies and SuperSkoda cart strategically prepared for the 2kg limit when the sale starts, hopefully tomorrow 🤞
  34. Thank you everyone for helping me out! All sorted! You guys are the BEST. @varaderoguy @langers2k
  35. While you say penetrating fluid, is this a good brand or "WD-40". I have found that PlusGas gives much better results that WD. One method is to carefully apply heat on the bleed nipple and surrounding area, I use a pen type torch which give a smaller localised flame area, and when hot apply penetrating fluid which may be drawn into the threaded area or even give expansion/contraction at the thread interface. What you must not do is apply so much heat that any seals are effected or the brake fluid is boiled as if it doesn't work you will probably have to drive it again.
  36. Looks a bit like this: Although there are plenty of people using a suitably large flat head screwdriver instead
  37. As per @ahenners No I went for Febi Bilstein ones. The Superskoda set came in about 50 euros including delivery and I read that they aren't quite as good. Would have taken longer to come too. The Febi struts are perfect in strength, they can lift the bonnet unsupported after initially lifting it. They slow before they come to a stop at maximum extension too. 2x Febi Bilstein 27709 struts. About £14 each from an eBay motorparts seller. 2x M8 ball joints with a 10mm ball head and 25mm thread length: https://www.sgs-engineering.com/x4-ball-extension 2x M6 ball joints with a 10mm ball head and 12mm thread length: https://www.sgs-engineering.com/x2-ball-extension Above ball joints came to a tenner with delivery. 2x M8 and 2x M6 washers. Bought from an eBay seller for a couple of quid. You also need an M10 spline bit to undo the bolt on the bonnet which I didn't already have. Painted the washers and ball joint bolts with a touch up kit I already had to make them blend in and look more OEM. Total cost probably about £42 but happy with the result.
  38. I used outdoor gutter sealant £12 and 2 hours work and all 4 doors resealed no leaks since.
  39. When a customer contacts a dealer and makes a booking a Diss report should be created detailing the complaint. Once this is created a BA ID number is assigned . This report can then be completed if the complaint is rectified and is recorded as a quality report. The dealership can also submit a technical support request using the generated BA ID and tech support can escalate the same report to the factory. The Diss report also has other uses as well. It is a requirement for any warranty claims as when a diagnostic session is ended and sent online it is allocated to the BA ID
  40. Don't pay those outrageous (i saw you coming so...) Prices. Just some good quality silicon sealant from b&q will do the job. Take off the door card and apply it over the original foam seal. Plenty of YouTube tutorials.

Can't remember the size of my discs but I have a 2006 1.9 tdi estate and I can take the discs off without removing the carriers, and thank god I can, what a **** they can be to remove!
  42. I've spent the whole evening repairing the broken photobucket links through the whole thread, so ALL of the pics are now visible to all....
  43. Nine years ago next week I signed the order for our first Yeti, which was delivered five months later. I still have the original Yeti grin.
  44. Last vacant F1 seat has gone Mercedes AMG have signed some guy called Hamilton I think. Quite a surprise that.
  45. Well good news is the engine turns over freely, nothing has stuck or siezed in the 2years since the engine went back in. Only wound it over with a ratchet on the crank bolt but it’s a start. I have now got a running in base map from Faboka (John) which will allow me to at least get it started and run in. Boost pressure is standard VRS which is more than enough to bed everything in. Battery is on a long trickle charge, hopefully it’ll come back to life after 4yrs off the car. Tomorrow evening will see the battery reconnected, a test of all systems, then try and load the new map onto the ecu with my mpps cable- if I can remember how to do it?? I’ll try and bleed some fuel through up to the engine and check everything for leaks. I’m not going for the big start until my two mates who’ve helped me out so much are round, beer and pizza have been mentioned so all will be good I hope. I have fitted the spare wheel tonight, cleaned all the tools and that’s the boot finished.. More tomorrow
  46. i actually thought it looked smart, personal choice i guess
  47. Look at this, two updates in two days, bit like the old times... Right, here we go. I've fancied doing something different with the wheels for a little while, as the car will be a very lightly used garage queen / show pony etc, I feel able to exercise some "bravery". I'm not 100% certain where this idea / inspiration has come from, in my mind it was old press pictures of the mid 90s Porsche 968 Clubsport in Yellow, and someone also pointed out a similar color scheme on the Felicia Fun.... so judge the following based on either of those two mental images LOL Yellow wheels. There - I've said it. For now (disclaimer alert) I have had only one wheel done, which happens to be the full size 17" spare wheel - same style as the rest of them so you'll get the idea.... I'm letting the idea settle at the moment before, or indeed IF I commit to having the rest of them done. It's a marmite move, but i'm certain I've not seen any UK Fabia's in Sprint Yellow with matching wheels. Let me know what you think? (might regret asking that ha ha ha) Matt (EDIT - I know the front needs lowering, that's next on the list)
