  1. Hi kind regards from Poland. Superb 2.0 TDI 200HP Colour : Imperial Violet Equip: Style + all other possible options (excluding leather and 19 inch alloys). My second Superb
  2. Hello I did about 156km and two hours driving with no single issue. Plus 40 minutes of driving AT NIGHT with al lights on (the first day the pulley got broken) plus one day witout using the car. I stop to sleep because was getting dark and i didn't wanted to turn on the lights, the owner of the small hotel we found in the road had a charger, so we he charged our battery overnight and then today we complete 97kms more until home. I am sure that if the battery would have been fully charged at the beginning, i would have complete 250km without any issue. (The advice for disconnecting the steering was really helpful, in fact it helped me to diagnose a issue i had i thought it was the alternator regulator, while the steering is working the lights fluctuates) Despite all that, it was an amazing road trip with friends. This next weekend we are going camping to a reserve which is about 8,000ft above the sea. Extra spare tires, compressor, and traction ramps in the check list.
  3. Kharl you are a legend ! I knew it would be close but having the overnight charge and unbolting the PAS fuse made the difference ! Well its the first time that range anxiety was experienced in an internal combustion car ! Great achievement well done !
  4. Had my Jag MOT'd today, which was rather nerve-wracking, given it was the first one in my ownership and the car is 20 years old! Happy to report it passed with the addition of two new rear indicator bulbs (the old ones were deemed to be not sufficiently yellow) and I got away in time to catch the last embers of the sunset.
  5. Look, this is getting annoying, we're getting sidetracked by semantics here, this isn't about right and wrong, that's for vicars and tarts to figure out. Baulking going into a gear when stationary is usually caused by a dragging clutch loading the layshaft, it can be a worn linkage or it can be a faulty gearbox so work though the possible causes starting with bleeding the clutch. It's worth resetting the gear linkage and it's worth topping up the gearbox oil in case the level has dropped.
  6. I made a comparison video when I changed mine a few years ago. I have the same Auxito bulb. LED bulb in the left side of video. Factory halogen on the right.
  7. You know your furby will hold it against you side tracking repairs blaming weather they like you out in the harshest of conditions working your fingers off to frostbite.
  8. Just make sure it's got a front cover. The rest is more to do with aesthetics
  9. You can do it with the bumper on but is easier to remove it, just clips in
  10. The manufacturers were taking the Michael out of UK tax payers with the UK Government complacent in allowing them to put ridiculous RRP,s on EV,s being sold in the UK. They will still be making profits at the new prices.
  11. It's impossible for synchromesh to operate when the layshaft is in neutral and not moving, it can only work coming down from second to first and it can never work in reverse. Think about it.
  12. Yes, that's what gearbox he has. No idea about the rest.
  13. From the SSP on 02T gearbox - "All forward gears are synchronised. 1st and 2nd gears have double synchronisers"
  14. First and reverse have no synchromesh so if the clutch is dragging slightly they will be extremely difficult to engage.

Not my house New garage Never really took much notice of this switch under the bonnet until now. Of course it has no wire connected, a paint mark around it and two random holes. Standard for this car. Presumably from that old alarm I pulled out. Finally got the glovebox fitted better. And more Dynamat for reduction of vibrations. Little photo stop Also this happened
  16. @langers2k last has given me an idea. Does your car possess a throttle damper? One of mine did, and it held the throttle open when I lifted off.
  17. How long is it maintaining speed for? If it's only briefly, you might just be experiencing 'rev hang' where the ECU continues to inject fuel for emissions reasons even after you've lifted off.
  18. Car is a 2012. I have found the following on exploded views:
  19. Go for genuine, they aren’t silly money new from the dealer
  20. I will try that as well leaving it in for longer than my one hour journey! But when you reflect on it, if it did work what an absolute dogs dinner of a system having to leave it plugged in all that time. Let’s see what happens, if you could report what happens to yours? Regards
  21. What I hear is I think the physical noise of the microswitch, not an electrical or solenoid noise. The latching mechanism works fine from the centre button on both fobs which makes me think the fault lies in the “handle” above the number plate or the wiring associated with it. Again, any thoughts or experience welcome.
  22. A Fix It Again Tomorrow is not a good example for similar problems. It is like comparing apples and pears, or in this case peaches and durians.
  23. Not great due to the fact I'm on the train but this was taken before we left Lochwinnoch... as I'm writing this, the sunset is very pretty to look at.
  24. Local garage diagnosed one injector heavily overfuelling; 3 running at approx 0.6 and correcting themselves and the other sitting steady at 2.7. A replacement is on a 5 day back order!

am sure the factory was closed in december before xmas are not going back into production until 10 january.somebody as alread said this period of no production gives them a chance of catching up on cars already built.i would not believe a word off anybody until i get the keys in my hand.most of them are just telling you what you want to hear.
  26. Well I haven't made any decisions yet. These software issues are really bugging me (no pun intended) and putting me off, but the valuation of the car is making it tempting, especially with all of the problems I've had with my current car, just to get shot of it would be a bonus. However the dealer has said that they will be able to get my PCP extended as a result of the long delivery times and delays. I have now discounted the Jag which has gone out of my price range now when it comes to the petrol engine derivative. The BMW is borderline due to configuration issues. The only thing I can find is the new (MY22) Focus ST that's broadly similar in spec and a bit cheaper to buy, but I find Ford's manufacturers ratings rather poor rather off putting. Had a look at Golf GTi, but they're silly money and as they're of the same "family" I suspect that they will be experiencing the same issues as Skoda. Completely and utterly confused now.
  27. Had this excat issue with mine not too long ago. The boot would open with the key fob but wouldn't respond to the actual button on the boot itself. No errors logged in the infotainment screen or the central electrics module (VCDS). The latching mechanism was fine but needed a new button fitted. I'm assuming that like mine the clicking noise you're hearing is the tactile click from the button itself that you're pressing and not the latching mechanism.
  28. Overall getting a good education is a better use of your time than farting about with cars. Might not seen it now but time passes so fast, a blink of the eye and you'll be your grandad's age.
  29. I think you should probably think plus or minus at least 20% on any delivery estimate with all the current uncertainty. Maybe others will suggest different error percentage. Therefore assume 12 months estimate to be 10-14 months. Probably best to assume the worst, and get a surprise if early, rather than be disappointed if it turns up nearer 14 months.
  30. Thanks for the info, I have now ordered the Sachs 992 103 springs, to get a bit more load capacity to the rear. I will also replace the rear shocks, I found oem shocks with reasonable price, so I will not try any aftermarket version. At first I will replace only the rear parts, as the front seems to be ok. I will ofcourse do the front as well, if it feels that it is not in pair with the rear after the new parts. The car has run a bit over 200K km so might be needed to the front also. Depending a bit on the ride, I need to think if a 4-way alignment would be needed, as the ride height changes a bit (5mm difference in spring length). I have done it when purchased the car ca. 1,5 years a go and it is "perfect" now and was a good 100€ spent at the time. Thw winter tyres are not so precise what comes to the steering, so latest with summer tyres I will see the need for the alignment.

If your dealer is talking about Kamiq it is not totally true. Our Monte Carlo (1.0 TSI DSG) has almost all options ticked (I believe it was 21 extra options when we ordered it is now 18 on the configuration as BlindSpot, electric boot and folding mirrors are no longer an option) and has already been built and is in Slovenia (hope we pick it up Thursday). Probably nobody (even Skoda) knows how the cars are being built and delivered. 😫
  32. Personally I'd say from that video it's inconclusive as to the actual cause, others may think differently, which is fair enough, but as it's intermittent and not causing you problems and you're not going to look at it until better weather you already have the possibilities, bleeding the clutch being a strong possibility. If it becomes more frequent (and across the gears) you could perhaps note when it happens, engine/car cold, warm or hot, weather type temperature, engine running or not, handbrake on or off, car level or able to roll under its own weight, car moving or static. Thing with reverse, and first, you can sometimes have them 'off the cog' (or whatever the term is, I forget) so that could be in addition to your issue. See how it goes.
  33. Suddenly thousands of pounds off the price of EVs so they still get the UK government now even smaller grant......... Stellantis cuts electric MPV prices as combustion variants axed https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/business-tech%2C-development-and-manufacturing/stellantis-cuts-electric-mpv-prices-combustion Citroën, Peugeot and Vauxhall have adjusted the pricing of their electric MPVs to lessen the blow of removing more affordable combustion variants from order. The brands, part of the automotive group Stellantis, removed all ICE versions of their MPVs from sale in most of Europe in an effort to accelerate the group’s move to all-electric power. With the UK government’s £1500 grant for EVs applied, the ë-Berlingo now starts at £29,495, while the larger ë-Spacetourer is now priced from £30,295. The decision to continue with only electric versions of these vehicles was announced in separate statements by Citroën, Peugeot and Opel/Vauxhall, which sell the technically idential Berlingo, Combo and Partner MPVs respectively. The group's mid-sized MPVs – the Citroën Spacetourer, Peugeot Rifter and Vauxhall Vivaro Life –will also go all-electric in the designated markets... “There is no alternative to electrification. In the future, Opel will gain even more traction with environmentally friendly innovations,” said Opel CEO Uwe Hochgeschurtz.
  34. If you've driven on a totally flat tyre then the internal structure will be damaged and potentially dangerous. Myself- I'd fit a new tyre (and valve!)
  35. Prior to My19 Correct Prior to MY19 (i think), u could get reverse camera without a washer, on a liftback/hatch. that's because u could have a hatch with no rear wiper. no rear wiper = no washer for camera. if specc'ed with rear wiper, n highline, then u got camera washer. mine is MY17, and i have the highline camera with no washer. i don't have a rear wiper. wagons on the other-hand cannot b had without a rear wiper, hence if highline, then u get camera washer too.
  36. Hi Beki, are you in ECO mode, when you say the car maintains speed ?
  37. Their meant to be there, There are actually light sensors used to adjust the brightness of the display. here a clip from the workshop manual
  38. needed to try my new 18 inch rims to see what it looks like. Very satisfied. had 19 inches last season but felt it was a bit too bumpy and also wanted a pair of rims that fitted better in the wheelhouse. Perfect fit in my opinion 👌. Now I want summer!
  39. Length is rarely an issue, it’s the width for garages especially UK ones. Before you sign I’d go to a dealer, sit inside then open the door how far you need, then measure the overall width. If it’s fine, then you can do what my wife’s grandad did, which was put the car in the garage with help the first time, then from the ceiling have some rope hang down with a rubber duck on the end and position it so it touches the windscreen. Simply way to be double sure
  40. Cheers Ads230. Yes I am getting a load of luck, trouble is it's all bad. Lol. As for the engine oil seal that was not leaking. Seeing as though it's all coming apart again, I asked them to renew it at the same time anyway. I believe there is an upgraded rear engine oil seal they will be fitting. Never had any real problems with my old MK2 Octavia VRS TSI, apart from needing a new inlet manifold at 30k miles and I traded that in at 104k miles for my present car. That MK2 was also mapped as well. Hopefully after all this work, it will be reliable for a while now.
  41. Well here is an update to my clutch slip problem. Took the car to the VW Specialist in Swindon this morning. They got straight onto the car and have just phoned me up with the BAD news. The Helix clutch slip was not down to a bad clutch, or a leak from the rear engine oil seal. It was down to the gearbox oil seal leaking onto the clutch. They also found when stripping it down, that I have the small classic leak from the water pump. The new DMF has heat marks on it now, along with the new Helix pressure plate from the slipping problem. So I have to have the water pump fixed, along with another new Helix pressure and drive plate. Added onto the bill will be another new DMF. At least they said they will give me a 20% discount, but the bill will certainly be well over £1000. I will know the exact amount when I pick up the car at the end of the week. So last year I paid £650 for a Racingline stage one remap, along with over £1700 for a Helix performance clutch, new DMF, Braided line and Billet Block, Slave Cylinder. Now I have this new big bill only a few months after. OMG, I must love my car!! Hope you guys are having better luck than me with your cars.
  42. Thank you. I had never seen such a cubby type thing before so it's nice to discover something new.
  43. I don't believe the car industry is going in a good direction. The resources of a decent sized nation are being poured into a wholly new technology for transport at a massive cost to the environment. We already have the infrastructure for Hydrogen combustion (JCB are already making hydrogen engined plant machinery) and although it's not as green to make hydrogen, it is easy to store, refill and saves dragging an extra half ton of batteries around. The emissions have a slight NOx output, but there are ways around that. At the moment, Ireland is beginning to worry that it has enough infrastructure to power its data servers, (admittedly huge) before we even talk about electrifying all their vehicles. Autocar commissioned an expert to work out how much more electricity was required to totally convert the UK to EVs and they reckoned we were around 9 power stations short. There are currently no plans to build these extra power stations (almost certainly reactors) although there is one new reactor coming on line in 2026, we will be phasing out remaining fossil fuel stations of course. Wind power is great when there is wind, although storing electricity is a not convenient technology in many ways, needing huge battery packs to store a meaningful amount of the stuff for our use. I don't believe batteries in cars are the answer and that they are mainly a knee-jerk reaction that politicians think will get them their jobs back at the relevant time. I'm saying this knowing that hydrogen combustion cars would more than likely be slower than current petrol cars in order to reduce emissions to super green levels and I do like a quick car, but for me, I would like hydrogen.

Ok thanks for getting back to me! Shame that they haven't managed to get to it so far. Ah ok thanks for getting back to me! V annoying.
  45. Hi Sorry these sold a while ago! I forgot to update the thread.
  46. Will take another video at night time to see the compassion to day time. 20211231_122028.mp4
  47. Because it's bloody annoying. Why would you want it on?
