Well its finally here. Octavia 1.5 TSI SEL stock (no extras except a full size spare wheel and jack) in Graphite Grey. Ordered form Lightcliffe Skoda in Warrington on 14th August 2021 and picked up from the dealer on 13th January 2022. The original estimated delivery date at time of order was 31st January 2022 so the car arrived two weeks ahead of the order delivery date. I originally ordered Quartz Grey but this was discontinued for the 2022 model year and replaced with Graphite Grey. Very pleased with the car although have only done a limited mileage so far. 2. More Lakeland views today. scratted around in the dark looking for my head torch that I knew I’d packed. By time I found it, it was light enough to walk. Missed the first top and sunrise by 8mins. However this is the longest walk I’ve managed without significant pain in my leg. Even managed to buy four mtn rescue folk a round as they were out training their dogs. Plus no actual bar under high crag… enjoy it later fellas! one for the gold miners… no sign of Parker! got to love a bit of industrial blight
  3. My SEL iV with optional black wheels and LED interior pack in petrol blue. Straight off the delivery truck so it’s not clean (I will address that with a full detail) but so far I like the colour and the car itself!
  4. A slightly redacted copy of the email that I sent to the dealer this morning, well 0045! Hi [redacted] It's nothing you have done, it's just the amount of chats that I have had with Mk4 owners who have been forced to reject their cars because of the large number of technical issues with software and their cars having to have significant hardware items replaced because of faults. There are issues with speeds being shown in Kilometers per hour instead of Miles per hour, headlights having the wrong focus for this country, camera issues, adaptive cruise not allowing them to pass on the inside of other traffic without slamming the brakes on, emergency brake applications at speed and random for no reason (downright dangerous), SOS calls being made at random, infotainment systems being replaced and the list goes on. It's taken a year to get my car sorted out and it's working well at the moment and I'm relatively happy with it, although I don't trust it one jot, but it's working and that is the main thing. Like I have said with all of the significant issues that I know about from Mk4 owners are having and Skoda not giving a damn about sorting these pretty major and significant problems out with these critical systems and also from what I can see of it, treating owners not only with contempt, but as guinea pigs to test their software and hardware out on, I don't want to take the risk on a car that has so many problems. So I hope that you can understand why I don't want to proceed with it, because I could find myself in the same position as they've been in that I would have to reject the car, leaving me with no car at all. If and when they actually get the cars critical systems working properly and reliably with none of the problems I have mentioned occurring, I'll consider having one. So for the meantime I'm keeping my existing car. Yours. [Redacted]
  5. One week in … delighted ex-Audi owner using a manual gear shift again.
  6. 3000 miles in and It's been absolutely brilliant. It gets loads of comments from random people too.
  7. Earlier today somewhere in the Peak District.
  8. brought Sr for a short blast in the woods... his bike is really not whats needed for where we ended up - in the slop - and i had to do a lot of : get off, dump bike, push him up the hill and let him go when he could, run back down the hill grab my bike and pedal up to usually catch him just he ran out out of steam again but he loved it, and it was good to get out. also a nice test fit of the boot carrier. need to look at instructions again though, see if i can get the higher mounting point as the front wheel was very very low.. didnt cop it when leaving the house due to the slope of the driveway. wrecked!
  9. I purchased a faraday pouch and ķeep the keys in that. They are quiet inexpensive. Bought on line.
  10. Disable Keyless locking. Its in the manual somewhere iirc. Most pointless invention ever.
  11. Leave a note on the windscreen or report as abandoned
  12. I had an update yesterday that my mid June 2021 order Kodiaq was now on a ship bound for the UK. Last time I checked in early Dec 2021 I didn't even have a build date so not sure how or why it has progressed so quickly, not that I'm complaining. Next step will be UK customs which I was told could take anywhere between a few days to a few weeks.
  13. If it hasn't already been said, steering pump cutting out is often due to a weak or dying battery. The peak current required when turning at stationary or low speeds is higher than the alternator provides at low rpm. Requires a healthy battery, if the voltage dips too low, the pump will shut off.
  14. Snapped this last night when I was going to pick up our Chinese takeaway order. They haven't installed the chargers yet so when you arrive you'll have to just pretend it's charging your car.
  15. I picked up my Superb this afternoon. Very happy with it so far. It has 77,000 miles on it, so I had dealer do the timing belt, service and four new tyres. Was happy with the Michelin’s they put on it! My first mods will be to replace all the front lights with ‘whiter’ bulbs, and get mud flaps fitted all round.
  16. I washed mine before I was handed the brownest silver car award.
  17. Hi kind regards from Poland. Superb 2.0 TDI 200HP Colour : Imperial Violet Equip: Style + all other possible options (excluding leather and 19 inch alloys). My second Superb
  18. I spent a bit of time tidying up the body work. Luckily all of the rust looked worse then it was. It was only all surface. First up was the bottom of the front wings. Before
  19. I've found this photo album. You may like it too. https://moje.auto.cz/?sekce=foto&im_id=im_4bb9b36019f8b&ga_id=GA_4b4cd55821504
  20. Better option on the Mk4 is to just switch it off permanently via the infotainment. I'd switched it off before pulling away from the dealer on collection day.
  21. Thanks. Even though it's nearly base model, I just can't give up on the pushrod 1.4 MPi. So easy to work on, and it's very light. Pulls much better than people think! I'm eyeing some second-hand alloys right now. I like the color too, I'm the only one in my entire city who has a Fabia in this color. Gonna have to find out how to repair these hail dents though, if it costs too much then I won't bother. Maybe I can repair those at home if I have free time. If I were to have the ideal Fabia, I'd prefer a 1.4 16v 100hp version, I'm not really big on diesels. Naturally aspirated gas engines are just so revvy and fun to drive. Less parts to break too.
  22. Still a nice little bit of kit though. My Fabia started on steels like yours. I must say, I quite like a Cayenne coloured Fabia.
  23. It does say you must keep both feet on the pedals. I assume if you have only one foot that does not apply, as both hands on the bars does not apply to hand / arm amputees. Unicycles are not illegal in the UK, and in Scotland riding on pavements where there is no street lighting is not illegal. Not all cycles have freewheels though or gears and no neutral. https://www.highwaycodeuk.co.uk/rules-for-cyclists.html
  24. They actually abandon / block chargers elsewhere and that is sign written ones and plain ones. I used to send a message direct to the Councils Chief Executive Officer, the ruling council Councillors and Opposition Councillors when they blocked chargers over weekends and holiday periods, that got their attention.
  25. Trying to make a turbo diesel sound like a turbo petrol is the problem, without a straight through exhaust you won't hear the stupid noises so it's completely pointless.
  26. Oh my god, will you just DRIVE the bloody thing and stop buying it stuff, it'll never sleep with you no matter how nice you are to it!
  27. The rest I done myself but as I was really busy I just sent to the garage normally I do it all myself and will be from now on the good is I got all my money back
  28. 2 days in, me and two mates went out into the hills on a walking trip tiday, via the back lanes in the preselis. 3 up in the car and its crashing into ruts and dips at moderate speeds, so I knew it couldn't wait any longer.

Hi all, where would I look on here for someone local to me who has diagnostics capability for a Fabia Mk 1 Petrol 1.4 16valve Please. Thanks
  30. That is good because at lease people know not to bother pulling into charge. Much handier than at the Turnberry junction on the A77 turning along to the Golf Clubhouse. The chargers is in and lit up for a year now but the CCS charging head had never been able to be activated. Just as well that it is not on all charger app maps as being there.
  31. Do you have the flappy paddles? I don't like that slight delay when using the kickdown. I just drop a couple of gears with the left hand paddle and when the overtake is done hold the right hand paddle for a second to get it back to normal. This is the only time I use the paddles. tom

I also may have some relevent bits but I'm a) away from home at the moment and b) tied up with jury service for (hopefully) the next couple of weeks. On my next home visit I will delve into the dusty corners and take a look-see. Sorry it can't be any quicker.
  33. Had an update yesterday that mine, Sportline ordered 11Nivember and originally given a build week if 1/22 is currently scheduled for week 7. If all goes well it's expected here in April.
  34. Although I wrote differently in my posts above and to be completely honest, I guess I wouldn't buy one neither if I were in the same position as you. Especially if you already have a nice car you can enjoy. I hope you can get yourself one once they sort out all the issues.
  35. Soon to be ex Audi owner with a vRS estate on order. Mine comes in two weeks in exactly the same colour. Can't wait to get it

I think it coincided with the change from NEDC to WLTP emissions testing, which became mandatory in September 2018. As a result I suspect (but don't know) that cars built to MY19 spec (July 2018 build dates onwards IIRC), probably adjusted the behaviour.
  37. Fab what a nice bit of sunshine can do for the soul. From a gentle ten mile ride this afternoon (gentle because my tyre noise changed in the shady areas and I realised I was on frost, some of it icy underneath): The Alsatian's a local dog I see lots. He's happy as larry as long as he's got a stick. Camera's not too bad on the new phone. Gaz
  38. Both rear shocks, bumpstops and mounts were absolutely knackered. They had no rebound at all. This first picture shows them full compressed, when they should be expanded. Replaced with genuine rear shocks and mounting bolts, and aftermarket bumpstops and mounts. I reused the original sleeves.
  39. Found the usual problem of the secondary air pump rubber mounts broken. Genuine mounts are a ridiculous price, so I found some cheap alternatives, trimmed down the threads and fitted. I didn't bother to replace the rivets with bolts on the pump housing as it all looked ok.
  40. All arrived this morning via FedEx. Yet to install them but here are a few images, all Skoda original parts.
  41. I believe some versions are slightly different but on my 2016 Octavia I used this: VCDS coding required:- From the Main screen:- Select Control Module [Select] Select 19-CAN Gateway [Select] Check Protocol (Top Left) = UDS On right hand side off screen under Advanced Functions - Select Adaptions-10 [Select] From USD Adaption Select Channel Select drop down choice menu at top and scroll down too the following four channels, selecting each in turn and inputting the relevant data about the new battery. IDE03256-MAS06105-Battery adaptation-Rated battery capacity, IDE03256-MAS06106-Battery adaptation-Battery technology, IDE03256-MAS06107-Battery adaptation-Battery manufacturer, IDE03256-MAS06108-Battery adaptation-Battery Serial Number, OLD Battery Capacity 69 Ah Technology EFB Manufacturer JCB Battery Serial Number 1111111111 NEW Battery Capacity 70 Ah Technology Binary-AGM Manufacturer VAO Battery Serial Number 1111111112 (increment by 1) gregsko
  42. So, from this. VCDS coding required From the Main screen:- Select Control Module [Select] [19-CAN Gateway] Advanced Functions screen:- [Adaptions-10] New value choice screen:- Change the following four channels, inputting the relevant data about the new battery. IDE03256-MAS06105-Battery adaptation-Rated battery capacity, IDE03256-MAS06106-Battery adaptation-Battery technology, IDE03256-MAS06107-Battery adaptation-Battery manufacturer, IDE03256-MAS06108-Battery adaptation-Battery Serial Number, Battery BEM codes are now redundant with the above separate channels. The most important channels are, Rated battery capacity, Battery technology, & Battery Serial Number. For the Battery Serial Number, just change one digit of the old one. This channel tells the BCM that a new battery has been installed & to relearn the new battery & forget any “learnt values” for the old battery! Is this correct for a 2016 Octavia and change the technology to "fleece".
  43. Vehicles with keyless starting are heavier on the key batteries because the key responds to the vehicle transmitting a signal by transmitting Back. This occurs periodically whilst you are driving, whereas a normal ignition key transmits to unlock/ lock the vehicle but the signal from the immobiliser transponder in the key is powered by an induced voltage.
