Hi No idea if mine has been sitting in a car park waiting for bits or not but my Dealer claimed car was built on 1st July and shipped to the export port on the 2nd. After some confusion a month ago when it was supposed to be collected I have just been informed that it has arrived at the dealer yesterday (15th August) and I will fingers crossed be collecting it on Saturday 20th. Its a VRS iv estate Hope that helps Kevin
  2. You just did: it didn’t, but it was a huge risk to take... 🤞🤞

Ordered 16 August 2021 and delivery on 17 August 2022
  4. Well that was all surprisingly easy... Flashed the DCC module: Uploaded the Passat dataset (closest in size, weight and wheelbase to the Octavia): I already had my CAN gateway dataset from when I updated the firmware to support automatic colours per driving mode. Tweaked it as per the drive2 instructions I posted previously along with MQB-FPA. Uploaded the dataset: Cleared all the error codes, rebooted the headunit and was greeted by this: VCDS confirmed via measuring blocks the active DCC profile changed from 1 to 15 with the slider and that eco/comfort/normal/sport had sensible values. Took it for a 2 minute drive and everything feels to be working normally, happy days! Massive thank you to @ApertureS for the dataset
  5. Took the picture of CH/LH lights using DRL strip 🙂
  6. One other thing to look out for on cars that have adjustable servo rods is that some previous owner has "adjusted" the link, and the servo comes-in and holds on. After I had problems on the Vauxhall with a leaky master cylinder, I found I then had a linkage problem. In truth this was because someone had replaced the servo + master cylinder on a Victor 2000 with the servo and master cylinder from a Victor etc larger engine vehicle. But once I'd sorted out the servo problems ,this 2000 model stopped very well .
  7. There seems to be a hell of a lot of SE's for sale currently, I'm counting over 10. Managed to add quite a lot that were missing from the list!
  8. Apologies. Seems ive updated both flash versions in odx and xml. The 3rd one is dataset but for B version. Ive attached C version Arteon dataset as you need. 14-Arteon DCC 5q0907376C.xml Edit: Ive also attached a passat dataset 14_5Q0907376C_passat_.xml
  9. Cannot add too much, other than the engine map between the 2 engine codes will maybe make your old ECU make engine run rough. Mainly for the fuel injection strategy being different between them.
  10. Ive attached a updated firmware - Seems to be for VW but cant tell what model, if its arteon or what. EDIT: Ive also got 2 datasets for DCC - second one is a leon, unsure on the first one. FL_5Q0907376C__0130.odx leon_dcc_5q0907376b.xml FL_5Q0907376C__0130.xml

It's his MDI, media in socket for what he wished to plug in. https://skoda.7zap.com/en/cz/superb/sup/2011-632/0/051-51040/#4
  12. I even used quotes around technician.
  13. I was glad I didn't put Halfords and Mechanic in the same sentence, it would have broken the internet. They bring a lot of shame on the profession, along with other places.
  14. 🤐 Nope, but you'll never go there again. Xenon's - check Headlight washers - check Level sensors - check Mechanic clueless - check

There are cons too, as I used to have a set on a previous car: 1. The introduce a bit of a blind spot, extending the width of the A pillar a bit unless they are completely clear, but even then can be a bit of a distraction 2. Technically (I say technically, coz I bet no one does) they are a mod you are meant to declare to your insurance company!!

    I can recommend Heko.
  17. Mine does the same thing for CH/LH, but with foglights as well.

What engine are we talking about? we need to know engine size and fuel and year.
  21. Thanks to varooom for the erWin info! I need to spend a some time checking that the site will work using Apple computers as I have had issues in the past with online payment companies not playing nicely with sites that assume that Windows PCs are in use. I will also probably have to disable my Ad Blockers and Ghostery apps before trying for an hour slot that could go horribly wrong otherwise! Also very indebted to @DeanVRS20VT for the great links restoring the old Skodas. As well as the Elegance car I am having the issues with, I also have a 2003 L&K diesel estate identical to the one in the link and have learnt a great deal studying the photos. After 2 months without any rain in East Anglia, I hope any newly appointed Minister for Drought doesn't persuade the heavens to open before I can start to investigate the wiring looms!

I'm also on the list of clients with VIN, but no other info. I received the VIN more than a month ago, and next week I'll celebrate 1 year since I placed the order. On the other hand, mine is not partially produced and waiting for parts, it's waiting complete production apparently.
  23. Hatboyharvey has one on YouTube.
  24. Which way round? My BBY is near silent, the BKY less so. Don't find the BBY at all slug-like, haven't had the BKY road legal so don't know. I had a very quick look at the first BKY wiring diagram for Fabia and it didn't leap out at me. Thought I might see a change to non-wideband lambda sensing from BBY to BKY, or similar (as happened from AZQ to BME in the 1.2s), but didn't. Can have a more in-depth look later.
  25. I will tag @pab567 as he will probably be the best person to answer. He most likely has a unit that he can post from Poland that will be without Component Protection on, and he might be able to pre-activate android auto.
  26. And probably fitted to reflector style headlights too 🤔
  27. The person who failed it probably did so because he's fitted such a kit to his own car... (based on my knowledge and previous experience of Halfords 'technicians'...)
  28. takes 10 mins to pop off the bumper then the lower grille is easily taken out from the inside.
  29. The firmware is likely generic, it's the dataset that's the harder part to find. Thanks though! I'll compare it to the thing I have...
  30. Hi, To get the unit registered with Skoda you will either need to: a) put in a sim card with an active data plan b) connect the columbus unit to a WIFI source in the settings c) connect a mobile phone which can share the data connection (pretty sure there is a setting somewhere to allow the data apps on the unit to use your mobile connection) you should then be able to register the device with your MySkoda account. If you want the live services when you are out and about (and registered) you can indeed just pop a data sim in and it should connect. You'll notice a red globe / circle at the top middle of your columbus screen, this will go white when connected to the mobile network. Not 100% sure if the tethered mobile phone option will work for this as well? I have a sim card in mine (but I don't subscribe to the live services as I use Apple CarPlay which does pretty much everything I need) but its there as a handy backup. I used a sim card from RWG mobile (EE network), They used to have a "free" sim which gave 50 minutes, 50 SMS and 250mb a month for an initial top up of £5 then free after that, but that offer has gone now. Their "free" sim is now an initial top up of £15 which gives you 100 minutes / 100 SMS and 750MB of data which is then free after the first month. Could still be an option for you. https://www.rwgmobile.wales/rates-plans-eng-per/ and look for the "free £15" sim. Hope this helps. Slick2097.
  31. That's a shame. And there's no mute button on the infotainment unit you have which I assume isn't a Columbus as per screenshot of OPS display from my car? If you are ok with totally losing the audible warnings then, rather than trying to find a fuse to pull as you suggested, it would be safer to disconnect the buzzer that generates the warning. Unfortunately no idea exactly where that speaker lives other than I assume it's in rear of car somewhere around rear headlining / door pillar trims based on location of sound and this thread
  32. This is what I think is the lock control module counting the connectors in the plug I can see 26. Difficult to see if any have more that wire leading to them at this stage. There are 3 unused blank spaces so that would make 29 in total. I’m going to give it a blast with electrical contact cleaner and I’ll report back

Adaptations are personalized per car depending on options installed so you cannot expect that loading adaptations from other Fabia will solve all your problems. Anyway, I have just sent you the file on PM.
  34. You will be fine. For example, 8.5x19 ET45 fits nice. So yours will fit also without any issues.
  35. I'll be discussing this at length with my ODIS/VCP expert and will try to take notes on the steps he takes. I'm expecting this may take a little time as he's not specifically worked on this modification before but I'll be sure to update here as progress is made.
  36. You just release the clips by levering them. Have a look at this fog light removal video and you'll see how he releases the clips.
  37. It is fundamentally a brilliant car, but the SW is rubbish, so many problems and often repetitions many months apart. Can’t help but think they have poor quality chips and software and so it acts up all over the place. Not just the Octavia, it’s a VAG issue on all their vehicles it seems.
  38. I think all owners of DCC equipped Superb 3's would love this mod!

I'm basically using this thread as a diary at this stage 😅. Latest info provided to me is production of MHEVs is to resume Wk 37 and expected to produce 1 Nr per week for Ireland. I'm told numbers awaited are limited enough here so hoping mine will be close enough to that which would mean possible delivery mid October. Although I was also told that the drought situation on the continent could have further impact on delivery of parts, etc. If you were to write a script on this whole saga, you couldn't come close with some of what has been given as excuses to date! "Europe’s rivers run dry as scientists warn drought could be worst in 500 years"
  40. That's the syncro (Dog) rings alright - Mine had this problem from when I got it and I nursed it until it eventually cried enough blew the seals out, siezed and took the centre out of the clutch plate ! The gearbox casing was split so basically it was scrap I got a replacement box at the time and its not been too bad - It will complain going into second when cold but if you are aware of this you just take your time with the change and it will go in. You are probably better to go and get the box refurbished as second hand boxes now are a gamble - you could be just as far back as ever !
  41. I cut my “curtains” off a couple of years ago with a Dremel and everything is fine with the silencer. Maybe does not look pretty from underneath but no issues from behind.
  42. Try resetting the linkage first and topping up the oil otherwise the gearbox will have to come out for reconditioning.
  43. It's always fun taking pictures next to modern small cars.
