  1. Final fit of the exhaust tonight, Piper rear silencer delete pipe looks a little lost in the cavernous area where the rear box will be eventually but it looks fine from behind. Happy with that for now. Hopefully getting it off the stands this coming weekend and out of the garage for a good clean
  2. Indoor rainbow: Gaz
  3. Few more miles put on the clock today. The little Fabia isn’t too keen on starting when the engines warm, takes a couple key turns. Starts fine from cold. It’s still driving fine / normal engine temps. crammed in 5L of diesel in the way home, slow and steady dilution.

OK, so a 1.4 TSI ACT with a DQ200 DSG. There are a few things that could cause the judder, and it might be your DSG which gets no servicing. There is a garage in your general area that might well be able to diagnose the issue. Best have someone familiar with the engine and gearbox check it out. http://autohausedinburgh.co.uk
  6. Tap the CPS card and it starts. Not yet showing on the app. The temp sign seems clear enough that they are waiting on longer cables. Odd as the cables are plenty long enough. Looks like they were supplied and fitted. Just a pity that they could not paint EV Charging bay on the spaces and not have a sign post to the right of the chargers like they have at the left bay . Or not block a pavement at a very large car park and next to a garden that is a tourist attraction. The usual incompetence between Angus Council departments / employees, management. Housing, roads department, finance and elected members.
  7. I think the OEM ones are like 4300k temperature because I tried to match my fog lights with the low/high beams. I would stick to the OEM bulbs due to their longevity but if you're looking for better light, you may want to Osram Night Breaker as @Dooge suggested but again look at the 35W bulbs, not more. I also agreed that over 5k temperature, you decrease the visibility of the lights, especially in the foggy weather - been there and returned back to OEM ones because of this. EDIT: Forgot to mention - I started to be very satisfied from the OEM lights once they were properly adjusted. Most of the O3s I've seen had their lights a bit lower as a factory adjustment. You don't need to blind others, of course. Just half turn of the adjustment bolts is enough for most of them. Dealers usually do adjust them for free if you ask(they know about this issue)
  8. Had completely gone can't believe the difference the MAF has made

Karoq Sportline 1.5 collected on the 29th oct.
  10. The tt width and length are within a few inches of the Fabia so centred the wheels in the arches, and centred the body, had to take a few inches off the front chassis legs though, I’m trying to keep the body standard but may have to roll the arches to cover the wheels. electrics wise it’s a case of repinning the lights to suit. I’m no mechanic but it’s quite straightforward being vag group cars more pictures on my Instagram paulthack

This is the pic that prompted me to have ours done at 20k. It was posted on the Skoda Karoq Owners UK page on Facebook by a garage in Galashiels.
  12. Not an LED bulb is it?
  13. If the thickness of the front discs is actually more like 28.5mm then just change the brake pads. If they really are 28.0mm (to the nearest 0.1mm) then change the discs as well. Most digital calipers can measure to one-hundedth of a millimetre, so there really shouldn't be any problem measuring to the nearest tenth of a millimetre.
  14. I can't help you out Jon but if you are on Facebook you could look up the 'VCDS Users UK' group and find out if someone is nearby. There's also a local to you thread on here in a coding area, not sure it's up to date though.
  15. So after a lot of debating I finally bought a Milltek cat back non-res exhaust for my OPF fitted 245. Two videos, one is from behind and the other is a drive by. The sound is perfect for what I was after, it is not antisocial in any way and no real cabin drone... but its certainly loud enough to turn heads and gives a little crackle on the overrun, in my opinion this is what they should sound like standard!

I use a local garage -gave up with Arnold Clark (Skoda)1395cc.i could try and catch up with them and show the help you are giving me.they have better idea.
  17. You need to remove the drums to inspect the brake shoes, cylinders & drum friction surfaces. The rust on the drums is normal, you could clean them up a bit with a wire brush.
  18. Which doesn't actually matter. 2 years, then use a hygrometer to check the water content every 6 or 12 months until you do a change. Then back to 2 years and start with the hygrometer testing again.
  19. Now that Red TT Quattro Sport on DW is a thing of beauty, a proper hero thread on there to me.

@pans It helps if you share which model of Superb with a petrol engine and DSG from 2018. & FWD or AWD. ? What petrol, as in, is it a 1.5TSI from 2018 which means there could be a simple answer. A known issue, or a 2.0 TSI? That makes a difference to which DSG is fitted. (There are DQ200's that need no oil changes with a 1.5TSI, or your car could have required a 40,000 mile oil change of the DSG, so twice, or the first one at 80,000 miles.) Has your car had the spark plugs changed once or even twice by 80,000 miles? You want a diagnosis done. That means read for fault codes then basic checks.
  21. Can’t find the Skoda price list, but sister company, Seat, charge (per page 9 on link) £159 -179 front pads £339 - 409 front pads and discs £159 rear pads £ 339 rear pads and discs https://www.seat.co.uk/content/dam/countries/gb/seat-website/downloads-and-documents/2022/seat-service-and-maintenance-brochure.pdf Are you sure you need new front discs, unless they are warped, not likely to have worn down on a 3 year old car, even if pads have worn.
  22. Just read from start to finish. Some effort gone into that same level as the red TT QS on detailing world
  23. Big fan of TW sealants too. So easy to use, cheap and last forever.
  24. Depends on the manufacturer. Looking at this XO pics you attached, to me it seems to be 12dB electrical filter. Then again, it's hard to be sure without schematics. Maybe not in this case, i don't know. But it's quite common to have a notch filter on a tweeter. This allows for "cutting" it fair bit lower. Maybe we're talking about different things, but notch filter is calculated based on Fs of the speaker. http://www.mh-audio.nl/Calculators/NFC.html ""Most drivers benefits from using notch filters, specially tweeters and midranges where the component values can be kept small. Using this filter on bass drivers calls for very large (and expensive) components." I have ordered Focal's to my car. Let's see how they sound when i get them and have some time to install. I still have to install mats in the rear doors, and planning to do it while installing speakers. If i have some time, i'll try to take some measurements before and after with my UMIK1.
  25. Thanks pete I appreciate the info, I'll be having a look hopefully as soon as possible. Without the wiring documents I wouldn't know were to start, so thank you for that
  26. I did suggest you inspect the wiring when this first came up about 3 threads of yours ago, but I didn't give you the full info then, so here you go now. G28 is the crank sensor, J248 is the engine ECU, F27 is a joint within the loom where the cable screen joins onto the earthy side of the wiring (pin 2 at sensor connector, pin 102 at ECU).
  27. Yes, both sides wheel arch liners. How-to-guide here -
  28. Yeah your intercooler pipe has popped out there. Firstly undo the screw that you can see and pull the pipe right out and check the end. You might need to release the retaining clip too. If the end is ok and not broken by being forced out while screwed in then just put it back in ensuring it's seated properly. Then snap in the clip then put the screw back in. You might need to put another in the top if it pops out again. Hope that helps, let us know how you get on.
  29. @ApertureS Can you also post in the Free Stuff section as there may be others that are interested there. 👍

It probably depends on how many miles it's been driven, in what kind of conditions and therefore how often the Haldex has engaged more than the ever present 10% torque to the rear wheels, I saw some pics recently of the Haldex mesh strainer from a Karoq that was badly clogged at 20k miles. On the basis of that, I had Haldex oil changed and the strainer cleaned in our Karoq at 20k miles by our local independent VAG specialist. Two before and one after pic attached. The guy who did the job said he'd seen worse. Whatever you do, make sure that the Haldex pump is removed and the strainer is cleaned. That service procedure is not included on any VAG dealership service schedule.
  32. Hi everybody, It is such a surprise to find a skoda fan bbs a few months ago and finaly make it a successful registration. Well, China is such a big land but with poor motor culture, and it is hard to find a Skoda owner bbs or club since skoda was not quite a high level or luxury car brand to Chinese people. So, here I am. It is a funny story that I don't want to bought a German style car at first, at least we call skoda a German style car in China. Cause my whole family drove German brand car like VW and Audi since 20 years ago. And I owned a VW polo 1.4litre NA and I crashed it due to tire puncture on the highway so I had to buy another car. Here came my evil friend with a 2010 Skoda Octavia Mk2 vRS, a red devil. I tested drove it and bought a blue one the other day, became a Skoda Owner. In China, again, Skoda is a brand lower than VW, Audi, Toyota, Honda, even Nissian, so everyone thought Skoda is a family car brand with no sports gene. Shanghai Volkswagon produced the Skoda Octavia Mk2 vRS since 2010, a face lift MK2, with 2.0litre turbo charged EA888 gen2 engine, same engine, chasis, wheelbase and weight specs with Golf Mk6, tried to make Skoda a sports name in China, then they failed. They produced around 2000-4000 Mk2 vRS cars from 2010-2014 and stopped, no further production of vRS in China anymore. My Mk2 was produced in 2013 and stored in warehouse for almost 2 years before it sold in 2015. So, technically my Skoda Octavia Mk2 vRS could be the latest one in China. lol I bought her back 6 months ago on my birthday as a used car, treat her well and did some modification, driven 13000km. Luckily I found some Skoda Octavia Mk2 vRS fans in my hometown Kunming, a province capital of Yunnan, China, which is a province as big as German. We had some test runs. Not that "slow", I guess. lol Here's my car, And my list 18 inches forged wheel, ET42, 8.5J, original 17inches wheel with ET 54 8J. 35. So is the takeaway from this and your other posts that EV owners can be a pretty selfish bunch at times? As that's the impression (or at least some of them...)
  36. If it was a stone, braking when reversing will often dislodge them.
  37. Pressure when cold suggests something is being added to the cooling system during running. Combustion gases are the obvious candidate. If there is such a leak, it will get worse, so the next sniff test may be less reassuring. Do the coolant hoses feel very solid if checked at idle after a run where the car is fully up to temperature?

Where did I suggest they sold the old car for more? Nowhere! I was just confirming whether the OP got the full value of their refund .. as some dealers might have accidentally 'forgotten' the trade in value of the old car.
  39. Probable clue in how I quoted part of your relevant message.
  40. Please note - I am not a mechanic or expert in anything. ETA: TMB posted whilst I was typing. Front. You can't really see the rear brakes as they are inside the drums. Front do most of the work (along with the tyres). If the brakes feel OK in use then I would wait until the better and warm weather, same with the rust on the wishbones unless I was doing other work there like replacing droplinks as you are in that area working anyway and you get at and around more with some bits removed for replacement. You can test the brake fluid for water content to see if that can wait for better weather to change if required. You are always better to have your brakes and suspension in the best reasonable condition but yours have passed your country's minimum statutory requirements so if they do not vary from this with your use it can wait for better weather if you want to.
  41. Those front discs are well past their best. Can't see anything with the drum brakes as the drums are still on.
  42. I bit the (pricey) bullet and did OBDEleven and the changes went though very easily and no probs yet. The soundaktor is now at 30% and that seems a good compromise between a very well insulated engine and knowing there's work being done (without pretending to have V6).
  43. Why do you think there was such a need to create low SAPS oils if combusted engine oil has a negligable effect on a DPF? Its like me saying that 1mg of arsenic is nothing compared to the 2000g of water I drink a day.
  44. Fairy nuff, but they're still perfectly miscible fluids so mixing will happen quickly, just jump in the car and drive, honestly so much armchair overthinking going on in here!
  45. I wouldn't be crazy about the back either. The estate is a lovely looking car in fairness.
  46. I was, then wasn’t. I was indeed looking at venues only last weekend. One in the lakes, one in Denbighshire. One of those, to compliment a more southern one. after such a long break, thanks big c, el Morte and pandemic, I was hoping to get at least two events up for ‘23. there is a good budget, I will be looking for someone to possibly help out, with one or both
  47. Hi all. This is my new (to me) business bus soon to be branded up with some discreet orange racing stripes and branding. But loved how it looked on these Audi TTs forged 20" wheels I found on marketplace, thought I'd share. Thanks for the immense info sharing on this forum, keen to do some tasteful mods to finish it off as my perfect daily. Watch this space. Thanks, Ash
  48. Welcome, the car will need plugging in to check for fault codes ideally to see what the cause is. Could be a broken wire or a short circuit causing it.
