  1. Replacement bottle arrived today. 10 minutes to change. Can just make out the shape of the silikat bag and pink colour. It's not loose and doesn't slosh about, if you weren't looking for it you'd never guess.

So after 21 months of waiting, finally it's here. The car was ordered in august of 21.
  4. Colourful end to the day yesterday.....
  5. Very true. I test drove the 1.5 and it had more than enough for me, even though it was around 40bhp less than my previous car.
  6. How much ooomph do you need to be happy?
  7. See title. He's hoping someone answering that description is reading, and may help. If you are not such a person, and don't actually have any further help to offer, perhaps leave him alone?
  8. About a grand mate. I’ve recently been to their head office in Holland and had an updated map written to account for the r600 and gfb dv+ and 98 octane fuel. I also have a RL turbo elbow, RL turbo muffler delete and RL Silicone inlet hose old figures wirre 360bhp 530nm and new figures are 380bhp 560nm. But torque now comes in lower down rpm range and holds for longer so makes for a much smoother drive and lower down grunt for around town
  9. Recently purchased a used VCDS from Breezy_Pete, smooth as silk transaction, thanks Pete, you did me proud, just a shame within a couple of days of finally getting hands on my own VCDS, some clown decides to a do a U turn in front of me and in the process write my car off. ☹️ Now I'm really struggling to find a suitable replacement, which sadly I very much doubt is going to be a L&K. So far all the sensible cars, 2014/2015 have all been high milers, ex taxi's I think or private sellers with dodgy service history/outstanding finance etc when doing a car check.🤨.
  10. And... Engine out in 5 hours. Now to collect the parts and start fitting them
  11. Not visually my cars of the day because i never managed to get to see them but got sent the pics.
  12. Here’s an example of some impressive engineering, oh and some old viaduct in the background…😆
  13. Haha - the good lady and I are still together, but we don't have or plan to have kids. It's certainly been an entertaining first week of ownership, especially in torrential rain on Pirelli P Zeros - yes, they are as bad on the Jag as the Skoda!

They are about the most road bias AT's you get and are not going to be increasing the fuel consumption if using the right size.
  15. Mine started to reboot after the update to 1896. Until then, it was smooth AF. I am having other friends with 1896 for the cars that were made for 2021, early 2022 and they all say they are facing the issue randomly. So, I believe that this is a bug within the software that may get resolved in a future release.
  16. The 20 Nm torque, 10 HP is just for my "mild" hybrid 1.3 engined Arkana, the cheaper version, the, probably, more popular ETECH Arkana has the 250 Nm twin motor system plus it rather asthmatic 94 hp naturally aspirated internal combustion engine which, despite all that apparent torque figures the car takes over 11 seconds to get to 100 kph ie 62 mph. Probably fine for those who do mainly town driving, and it is supposed to give a combined mpg of 59, pretty good for a quite tall SUV, 200mm ground clearance for handling the bad un-surfaced roads of Russia and the Ukraine, its original places of manufacture before moving production to the Samsung facility in Korea. In my mild hybrid I gather the little hybrid battery, along with the starter motor/generator contribute not only to a bit of forward motion but also as part of the regen system and power systems like power steering, lights etc when the car goes in to coast mode by popping both the dry clutches and cutting the ICE for periods if the system has enough charge in reserve. Suppose to boost fuel consumption and cut emission by around 8% compared to using just the 130 hp 1.3 l tce engine. Seem to be averaging 49 mpg, which for a car almost 1.6m tall is not too shabby and with a fair turn of acceleration ie much better than full hybrid Arkana, video shows driver getting it just in to the 8s to 100 kph.... and after about a minute getting it to its 127 mph max. If I had to pay for fuel, ie not have a fuel card, I might have gone for a fuller hybrid to get the better mpg. How anyone can run a car on the UK Treasury rates of 45ppm, up to 10k miles, and 25 ppm after that I do not know, unless one drives a Dacia maybe.
  17. Honda tried that with the Civic Mk 8 many years ago... and even reckoned they'd shaped the rear end so that rain etc. would get blown off by the aerodynamics whilst driving (as MG claim to have done with the 4). They soon learnt and the Mk 9 replacement had a rear wiper...
  18. Stick it up on Moneysupermarket then, right and wrong is for vicars and tarts.
  19. They dont need or have to justify the lead time, justguarantee to provide certain spare parts for a certain time after a vehicles manufacture. Do you know that they actually manufacture the door panels themselves? Very little of a modern motor vehicle is actually made by the vehicle manufacturer, assembler would be a better choice of phrase. Some production plants may still make the bodies and engines but they will be seperate from the assembly plant and the units will arrive on a JIT basis like any other components and sub assemblies from their suppliers. Tthose same parts which are required as spare parts do not follow the same logistic chain, they will not go anywhere near the assembly plant fast moving parts and consumables will be stocked in distribution warehouses and with TPS etc, I vert much doubt that an unfinished bare unpainted door or tailgate will be stocked, it will be ordered and the order will go right through the chain to the manufacturer, he will have to meet his JIT commitments to the production line before diverting one unit for a VOR (veicle off road) order. 3 months does not sound excessive and were you to actually be able to find the thruth behind the BS it's probably only been ordered 2 weeks ago. Sorry for any typos.
  20. Try searching "Felicia schémata" with Google set to Czech. I'm not sure if I can give you direct link here...
  21. My english are not good but you mean for example something like these?
  22. Thanks @varooom, that's very helpful and kind of you.
  23. I would treat that with a pinch of salt, looking at the Octavia 4 forum shows people waiting well over a year for their Octavia and some giving up and cancelling their order.
  24. It is nothing to do with popularity, a Superb Scout is popular in the UK. It is UK Fleet Average Co2 figures for VW Group UK, Skoda, SEAT, Audi, VW. VW & partners like MG are not First Registering enough Mild Hybrid, PHEV's or BEV's and low emission ICE models in the UK. That can mean higher emission models get dropped or suspended from production for a while.
  25. No dedicated platform = not a consideration from me. I remember a Fully Charged video interviewing someone from Stellantis (or may be Peugeot), they were proud that they can switch their production line between powertrains and everything is built on same platform. Sorry, no, from EV driver, it's a compromise.
  26. @skomaznot just Vauxhall / Opal, it is as poor with Peugeot and Citroen / DS or the rest of Stellantis EV's. They need to get on with building clean sheet models and not just mess about beefing up suspension on the BEV over the ICE versions. Their software is pretty crap and they are tweaking that and fitting more ECO tyres to add to the range of the vehicles so that Car Magazines and sales stuff can kid people on.
  27. Sounds like a bit of a mare overall though... and a reminder that Vauxhall's maybe still aren't as god as they should be post-Stellantis take-over?
  28. For anyone who needs to know, the tailgate trim pulls off easily using a timber wedge but you need to carefully realign the fixing clips with the slots in the tailgate when refitting as they are prone to moving when the trim is pulled off. 😁
  29. No, I’m still trying to find out which seat the relay is underneath?
  30. You do realise this is the Karoq forum?

    According to wikipedia, the Yeti 140PS AWD DSG does 44.8mpg, which is similar to the Octavia VRS petrol DSG cars, as they are listed at 44.1mpg. So it's a rather thirsty diesel. 2.0 TDI CR 103 kW 2010– CFHC (EA189) 1968 ccm, I4, 16V DOHC, common-rail, turbocharged 103 kW (140 PS; 138 hp) at 4200 rpm 320 Nm. (236 lb•ft) at 1750–2500 6-speed DSG (DQ250) AWD 187 116 9.9 6.3 / 44.8 169 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Škoda_Yeti
  34. So subframe is assembled ready to go back on. Had to cut a notch to make the non vrs passengers console work. I'll never be a surgeon but its good enough for this. Especially since the cut won't be seen. Reused the drivers console too. Suspected I somehow stripped the threads but chased them out in the vice and they seem fine. Have the vrs one spare just in case anyhow. Built up with all the poly stuff from the sdi. And the psb arb bushes I took out of the Monte. They'll do for now. Mondeo links from the sdi too. Used the vrs arb of course. Sdi one is 17mm and the vrs is 19mm. Not really noticeable in a photo. Turbos back on too. Hopefully no more leaks. Hopefully. Made some progress making the hole for the a/c. Didn't have anything on hand to make a nice neat cut, so I improvised. Used the rubber gasket as a template for the sdi. Drilled some small holes just inside the template. Figure I can enlarge the holes until they all go together. Far from the best way to go about it, but once I get the hole finished I can clean up the edges and make it look like less of a hack job.
  35. MAD auxillary springs work for me, fully loaded and towing a trailer.
  36. After talking to a local dealership yesterday I called them today and they checked and confirmed that all the Skodas in their lot were affected (in fact the guy I spoke to also confirmed his Golf was showing the same). This is a wider VAG issue it seems
  37. I'm already annoyed with this restarting every other day..

  40. It can be exterior "chrome" door trim.
  41. I remember seeing someone selling G12evo 40/60 in bulk, probably 5ltrs on ebay, and thinking that that was what I'd buy when replacing the coolant in my old 2011 S4 - then suddenly became aware that that car left the factory with a 50/50 coolant mix, and so I changed my plan to buying G12evo from my local VW Van Centre by the litre bottle in 50/50 form which was what was being sold - it would have been cheaper if I had just bought premixed 40/60, but at that time I could not find 40/60 pre mixed in the parts listing for VW marques, only 50/50 premixed - so I guessed that VW AG had initially put 40/60 into the market place then had a rethink and only supplied 50/50.
  42. Lovely British seaside weather 😂
  43. I previously had a 2.0 Tsi 180 4x4 Kodiaq and went through the same dilemma when choosing my second Kodiaq. The things that swayed my decision were, the price of the 2.0 Tsi with options I wanted would take the price over £40k which would incur the £500 annual VED, and it looks like the Karoq Sportline could be the same. Secondly I put great thought into do I really need 4x4 having suffered Haldex failure in my previous Kodiaq, the cost of extra maintenance and the extra fuel required to hump around the extra weight of the bigger engine and 4x4 system ( which is equivalent to carrying two people around), and as I already used winter wheels/ tyres during the winter, I decided to go for the 1.5 Tsi 2WD option. All I can say I’ve not been disappointed, the 1.5 copes admirably even when loaded with grandkids and all their paraphernalia, and regularly achieves 40+ mpg using Tesco momentum 99 E5.

Still cannot believe that it is true, but it is! Delivery date: 2023/04/07 (order date 2021/09/13)
  45. It has been a while hasn't it...hello again. Where I left off with an o2 sensor fault, I bought a new Bosch sensor and that was sorted. I've done a few bits and pieces over the last few months New rocker cover gasket with cam chain tensioner gasket Bit of a pain to change the tensioner gasket to be honest New knock sensors because I thought the knock I saw from my logs was just bad sensors, it wasn't bad sensors. new uprated fuel pump, didn't really need it but it's done now so... Today I went to badger5 and the got got a stage 1 remap I had been doing some mapping on it myself but other than successfully deleting the sai myself I wasn't happy with the amount of knock and overboost I was getting even on the standard map. I chose badger5 because I'd heard good things and they didn't disappoint, Bill remapped the car and it runs spot on now making a healthy 211bhp and 259ftlb. He advised me to upgrade the intercooler next as it will help with the air intake temps. I'll be looking at intercoolers, suspension and brakes next. I'll also try harder to keep this blog up to date 😂
  46. New Builds are New Type Approved models. Mk4 Octavia are not new as type approved before 2022.
