  1. These are what I got from the system
  2. An update..... On Monday 5th June the car had its service. My mechanic said the engine air filter was very dirty. He thought the plugs were the original, at 77,000. So new engine air filter, new plugs, fresh oil and filter and the jobs a good un. Car feels a lot better now, hiccup gone and I am sure it's doing better mpg, unless the warmer weather is doing that. Thanks all for the advice.
  3. I managed to take a picture of mine; not sure you're also interested in this one, since you mentioned version 1900 - which is not the case for me. Summary: car built @end of August '22, delivered end of Sept.'22 with SW 1896. I had several OTAs since, but the one around March or April this year made the infotainment reboot after the start of the car... Funny thing: I didn't have the key with me (I was parking my other car returning from work), but I decided to give it a try. So I opened the car via the Skoda App and tried to see if I can start the infotainment and furthermore the Engineering Menu. Surprise (at least for me): it works!!! @djmartzian once you get into the Engineering Menu (hold for about 3 seconds on the Menu button) you need to click "Software Update". I didn't take any picture, but it is the first option out of the three listed in that Menu. For those interested: check the video below - in order to access the Red Hidden Menu with the Software Train you need to click the first line (the one that the guy in the video is not clicking). The system will seem to reboot in some sort of "recovery mode" where you can choose to update or to see Software Info.
  4. 33p??? I pay 7.5p per kWh at home but for the last 3 weeks it's been free on solar. Even in winter because I am on intelligent octopus it's 7.5p and then the car means I often get that off peak rate right through to 11am. So having an EV actually makes my home energy cheaper whether I use it to heat the house, ciook a meal or put it into the car. There's no reason to be paying 33p if you have an EV
  5. Bit more tidying, front grill for the wide mouth had a bit of damage so changed that today, tidied bits and pieces behind bumper and tidied the extra wires and pipes in engine bay, was all secured out the way after the pics got a new plate for it too
  6. Servicing and maintenance is pretty important. Sad that Skoda schedule shows the air filter at 6 years and many do not get checked at each service. Sad that air filter housing are not designed to be easily opened as they used to be. An inefficient engine is wasting money on fuel. The Long Life spark plugs can be good for 60,000 miles in some cars but really can not just be ignored that many miles in TSI's of any era or engine capacity.
  7. That's the kind of agricultural engine this crap was designed for, rudimentary and with such lax tolerances that you couldn't fail but to improve efficiency. Actually it was really designed to help terrible flat tappet pushrod V8's in the 5 litre range making about 120 BHP, the craptastic build quality of those things has to be seen to be believed!
  8. So who wants to try loading VW version 1941 🤪 Seems weird that this has happened, the change from SK in the software train to VW.
  9. Some 2018 1.5 TSI ACT,s had issues and required a software update, there was a Safety Recall on lack of torque, so check that the service and warranty history on that and was this software update done. @ 5 years the Cam belt is due a replacement and quotes on that are between £750 which is actually low & as high as £1,100 plus, which has become common, so check that out. The 1.0TSI also requires a Cam Belt replacement @ 5 years according to Skoda / VW UK, and that is cheaper, but needs done by someone that knows their stuff, not as straightforward as the old days. (There are ones co-cked up already if you look in the Mk3 Fabia Section.) Both are at the mileage where at least one change of spark plugs was due, and actually a 2nd change is due. ? So what does the Full Service History show other than Oil & Inspection Services & Extended Scope in 2021 and then 2023, is it even that. ARE THEY SERVICED TO THE MANUFACTURERS GUIDELINES, RECOMMENDATIONS or SPECIFICATION / SCHEDULE? So that you could take out a Skoda Used Car Warranty if you wanted to? I think they will need the cambelt changed for that to be the case. Pollen filters twice changed? ? Brake Fluid ever changed? ? What are the tyres and brakes looking like? ? Are the windscreens OK, not too chipped? Drive them and you decide.
  10. Reboots don't cause any harm to the module - the only harm done is to the owners patience and Skoda's reputation.
  11. I will give you a couple of nuggets to reflect on and then maybe the penny will drop with you. The fans will only cut in when the AC pump raises the pressure of the liquid refrigerant above the threshold, they should not cut in as soon as you press the AC switch, the pump has to compress the liquid and bring it up to the threshold pressure. Liquids are incompressible. Air is compressible 💡 R134a is pumped in the liquid state and expands to the gas state in the evaporator creating cooling, I've kept that bit simple it is only to illustrate that a refrigerant gas goes between the two states. If your name was Ian and not Kareems I would think you were the muppet that I tried in vain to explain why it was stupid to pump up the hydrolastic suspension on his girlfriends Mini with a garage airline, I tried but failed, hopefully you will be more receptive. You have now contaminated your system with moisture from the compressed air, the filter drier will need replacing and the system dried with several long vacuum downs. Had you in fact resolved the issue which caused you to be working on and ultimately screw up the AC system?
  12. @varooomWill do in a little while, still in bed as I've just retired by force so I'm having a lay in
  13. Wireless CarPlay and Android Auto use Bluetooth to establish the connection and then switch to WiFi to carry the amount of data. So using a cable connection to a smartphone means that WiFi can be turned off.
  14. Amazing the lack of contributions from members that operate Private Hire vehicles. No idea if any amendments was made back from this in 2014. New Clause 9 - Private hire vehicles_ circumstances in which driver’s licence required_ 25 Mar 2014_ Public Bill Committees - TheyWorkForYou.mhtml

Oh dear…. OK, yes, the DSG box can be reset, but what it cannot do, because it is not crammed-full with AI, so it cannot, does not and will not learn your “driving style” regardless of what your VAG specialist might tell you. So before you start being rude to someone who knows what he is talking about, go away and properly educate yourself matey. Oh and just to educate you on another fact, not everything you see and read on the internet is real….bit like you believing a gearbox can “learn” your driving style.
  17. If he is a wheel specialist, and has a machine designed to hold the components of the wheel in place while he does the work then It should be fine: surely it would cost nearly as much as new wheels though, when you consider that you may be able to sell these scratched wheels for £ 200 euros or more, and spend it towards new wheels. Obviously you would have a unique set of wheels if he did this work, and the offset isn't a major issue: moving the spokes would result in larger offset , which effectively widens your car's stance, giving more grip. You would just have to check that the tyres didn't foul the wheel arches when the suspension is compressed. Buy some cheap wheel spacer plates and some threaded rod that matches your wheel bolts if needed to put two plates behind one front wheel, then without driving the car, sit on the front wing to compress your suspension and check for contact on top of the tyre. If you are unsure, repeat the test with a lump of play dough sat on top of your tyre. If there is contact without the play dough then you would be better to buy different wheels, because it would be even more expensive to change the car's suspension to correct the contact.
  18. The Superb is in for it's audio upgrade As I have stated before, I don't like the Canton system, and 610 watts, is nothing special. All this is to my mind and ears, so if you like the Canton system, good for you, but it's certainly not for me. I have built many systems in the past, but decided to out source this build, for various reasons (bad back, never worked on VAG and time constraint) Chosen builder is Audio Advice in Portadown: https://www.facebook.com/Audioadviceni/ Have a browse of his past builds if you want to know the quality. My wants in a system, clarity, audiophile quality and reasonable bass. No need to break windows or rattle the car to bits, but it must be felt!!! Tis a simple system (of sorts), just the front end and sub in the boot. But that's were the simplicity stops. Nothing of the Canton system will be left active. Front end: Doors are getting Mille Legend 1800.3 in stock location Door mids and tweeters are coming out and not being replaced. Mids and tweeters, Mille Legend 700.3 and 280.3 are moving to the A pillars for better sound Subwoofer: A single 10" Audison Voce AV10 in a custom enclosure, same location as the stock 'sub' One nicely surprising thing with the Canton is that it uses an optical signal. This is being utilised into an Audison bit one Virtuoso DSP, with supplies the signal to 2 amps. An Audison Voce AV 5.1k HD, which will drive the mids, tweeters and sub. And an Audison Voce AV due to drive the door woofers. System is going from 610w to 2550w, but with exceptional control. Will continue to give updates and pics as I get them. And no, I will not be disclosing the price of the system, if interested contact Phil or do some research, but let me just say it ain't cheap, but quality rarely is.
  19. DIY, with just an SD Card and about 20-40mins of your time.
  20. Not that hard if you know what to look for. 👍 G34 and L50 are the pertinent PR codes, those together with the purple + 3 pink paint blobs and you have 1J0 411 105 AN.
  21. Thanks for reporting back, unfortunately it's a common story. I would expect the change of such old and used spark plugs and air filter to make a noticeable difference. Of course the engine is not the most important system or component on the car, I hope your mechanic also checked the brakes, steering and suspension (all three include tyres). Things like brake fluid and engine coolant are often overlooked and not even checked let alone changed. I also changed the manual gearbox oil on my wife's 2015 Fabia at about 6 years and 40k-miles and my wife said she noticed the difference - but many will argue against this but it's an easy job (otherwise I'd not be able to do it) I've done on my cars and always found the benefit. Much servicing, maintenance and even some repairs just boil down to clean and lubricate, boring easy stuff but a good base to build from even if you only want impressive sexy work on cars. Good luck.
  22. Just the waiting game now. I went to see the people at my chosen repair centre - really friendly bunch and the chap came out and explained exactly what they would do and how the repair would be completed. Said would look to repair over replace as then original seals are in place etc. He was also saying they had worked on an Octy with similar damage a couple of weeks before and it had come out excellent. Repair centre sent quote over to Avivia and the repair has been authorised - the problem? Repair centre is so booked up that the very earliest they can get me in is 9th August. So at the moment I'm potentially looking at a two-month wait before it actually goes in and then the repair time - if they have to wait for parts etc. In the meantime I've had a full geo check done on the car in case the wheel was knocked - that all come back clean. I guess in two months time all of the paper work should be sorted out and I won't have to stump up my excess - as I'd like to think that would have already been claimed from the at-fault driver.
  23. NO!! Here's a picture of a dissembled BBS split rim
  24. Thats what it is being used for now and probably why the person had it arrive unsolicited in their letter box probably with some bumph about how they could become a millionaire through (decieving) their friends who would in turn become millionaires............................. If you Google it you will see that the name and company was sold on then after that company went bust one of the marketting leeches started reselling it, there was a court case where it came out that it was just another snake oil and had nothing in common with the original formulation, probably a good thing! but the guy did not have the right to use the name, since then it has been used as a vehicle to dupe people into multi-level marketting = Pyramid selling. google reveals all and will correct the errors in my recall.
  25. Are you asking if cast alloy spokes can be welded to a steel rim? If so the short definitive answer is no.
  26. @nta16 Well the North East coast of Scotland in the 1960,s 70,s was rather different then where young people might leave school at 15 to go on fishing boats and buy a car a new car at 16 for their friends to drive until they were 17 years old. Youngsters from farms had cars & weekends were where the cars were driven rather quickly from one town to the next to the various town hall dances. Many were 2 car families back then and the boats had a crew bus / minibus for taking them to the West Coast fishing. ? Did it have a different name before the 1970,s? Was it just a product as part of Pyramid Selling ?
  27. This diagram is close to what you have @kareems, but not exactly right, as the wiring diagram suggest you have a G65 pressure sensor instead of the F129 pressure switch, and in that case it is mounted after the condenser, rather than before in the refrigerant circuit. Pressure is pressure though. There's a 'lost in translation' between the LP/HP key at the top and the marking in the diagram, which is ND (niedrig druck)/HD (hoch druck) instead. Low and high pressure respectively. Gas to liquid transition happens in the condenser as I understand it. From document D3E801B9571-Air_conditioning_system_with_refrigerant_R134a
  28. That is not right, Colins expertise has been of great help to people, start another thread using the content if need be. JR RS did not create the thread, even if he did he dose not own it or cannot dictate what direction it takes after 128 pages, why is he getting so upset about thread drift when it is this wonderful community helping each other?
  29. @D.FYLAKTOSyou just posted a picture of modular alloys that someone took apart to powder coat, stove enamel or paint did you not. I have modular alloys / split rim alloys on my 4x4 which can be taken apart just like that.

Hello. I previously owned a black karoq sport line. Looked great when clean. But showed dirt and scratches (wife v bush-bush won). Now have velvet red karoq . I think red shows dirt less.
  31. Steel wheels yes, I have done some myself but you wanted to cut & weld your Tecnomagnesio alloy wheels which is an absolute no-no in my book.

There's a post about this over in an Audi TT forum: https://www.ttforum.co.uk/threads/fixed-rds-tmc-no-longer-working-in-uk.2032197/#post-9622024 In summary, Trafficmaster supplied TMC, but they have stopped providing the service. It affects VW group and many other car manufacturers. However, if you have VCDS, there's a fix that work on the TTs. It enables the alternative VW Audi service instead. I haven't yet tried it on my Superb, but it uses the same maps and software so I expect it will work: As ever, pcbbc has found this. Top man!
  33. One repair guy mentioned that but what's the logic behind it? that doesn't seem right to me, would be glad if you explained it to me from what I understand whether the pipework contains refrigerant (R134a) or normal air the most important part is that it's enough to trigger the pressure sensor to run the fans once the AC button is pushed and regarding the fans, as Breezy_Pete said: by LP fan I think he means Low Power fan? since the fans have 2 speeds? and yes I have 2 radiator fans with twin speeds wired in parallel as far as I know as they both turn on/off together I will make sure to check that fuse among the other fuses today, last time I checked all were fine but yesterday the radiator (30A) fuse above the battery went dead out of the blue so I will check both fuse boxes according to the attached diagrams to make sure they are working and have the right amps and report back but as far as I know the fuses weren't the problem
  34. I interpret that as your exhaust has used half of it's life in terms of oil ash stored. So that's good, and you can also see the soot thresholds of when the lamp will illuminate etc. So really I would say your car is performing ok, as it ages the regens will become more frequent, but you don't seem to have got to the stage of car going into limp mode. Just drive, and monitor values from time to time.
  35. Stage 1 remap is a total no brainer and I don’t regret it at all. Got the same car/engine as you and used super chips (they come to you): www.superchips.co.uk for a stage 1 you don’t need to go onto a dyno. Everything else on my car is stock. Definitely feel the difference. If you drive normal then you also get slightly better mpg! don’t forget to tell insurance. Doesn’t add much.
  36. Well, time for an update 😉 Everything works now! Thanks to varroom, I also updated to 0324 with a sidestep to 0308 (0306 —> 0308). The main problem I had, was updating the OCU. Somehow, it went wrong and the parameters could not be updated automatically. Long story short: fried it 😉 they replaced it and now everything works as it should. Long story short: I you are on 0278 already, updating is a straight proces. No need for odis stuff etc. If you are on 0156, a lot more coming on your way. - Need to update parameters via odis for infotainment and ocu - try to find a friendly person on a dealership who want to give to the activationcodes on the excel sheet for the predictive navigation so you can activate the FEC in odis (according tpi) - You need a good vci… - Have to build up odis knowledge when you don’t have it (not hard but very less info or youtubes online..) - Odis online required Should I do it again? Yes, the system is more responsive, new screens, working apps (news, weather —> not relevant but now they work). Quick startup. The infotainment of my car works now like I expected when I buy such a car… Some notes: Somehow dealerships are not familiar with this stuff. If it aint broken, don’t fix it. Most of the time they hold the power button to reset the unit 😉 They aren’t aware of new updates, it’s not a proces on maintenance etc. Besides that, I can’t remove my above post: it was a result from a chinese VCI clone, avoid it 😉
  37. ….and yeah, it really annoyed me too, so it’s yet another vote for a pedal box, which in my case is a Racechip XLR too. Interestingly, even with it set to “normal”, so the unit is back to the “factory setting” as it were but it’s still inline and working, the throttle lag is still eliminated. However, I have mine set to “Race” permanently, as is the GTS Black Tuning Box. The car can still be driven completely normally until I give the loud one a bit of a shove, and then it’s off like an attacking Cobra… which was always my dream, to have a car which accelerated as quickly as a 289, but without having to spend the £1.2m to get that feeling. In reality though, it doesn’t go that fast; it’s actually faster. 😁 Yeah, yeah, so it doesn’t have that screaming V8 soundtrack (nor the very, very tricky handling, thank gawd!) but in this weather, with the windows open, a bit of wellie and the DSG flicking through the gears, it doesn’t sound half bad either!
  38. I suspect you are missing R134a hence no cooling.
  39. Clutch plate is only 200mm in diameter, my 2.0 is only 220mm, come to think of it you might be able to fit the 2.0 clutch and flywheel as an upgrade. You need to get your old one off so you can measure stuff.
  40. Hello guys, In this weekend I've tested the above MAP Upgrade process, in offline mode. I can truly say it just worked. I extracted the archive and copied all the files directly on root. The USB stick(prior formatted exFAT) has been plugged in one of the front USB ports on trip longer than 2h. Now, the Navigation Database version is 22.6 - looking at system information. But, I've just found that a new version is available at: https://updateportal.skoda-auto.com/en-GB/Updates OI_P95_EU_202325_Offline_Update.zip I'll try on my next "long" journey. Cheers

Phoenix orange is the colour to go for stunning👍
  42. As above. I fitted a DTE pedal box to mine and it removed the lag your feeling completely. Now roundabouts are a lot less like Russian roulette when entering them.
  43. From the sounds of it, driving around with the word TAXI on the vehicle would be the offense, if you're not a licenced taxi driver. You can have it in the garage for work, but you can't actually drive it out on the road even with trade plates on, unless you remove all the livery and stuff. The taxi driver forum I linked to suggested that people have been prosecuted for such an offense, though of course I cannot say whethery they're just lying to eachother or what... But certainly the OP's garage is not refusing the work - They just require the OP to be present on the test drive, which lends credence to it being some legal issue they know about.
  44. If only he had changed to the standard 225/50R17 to 235/55R17 like this fella, he probably wouldn't have damaged his rim. Top photo 225/50R17, bottom photo 235/55R17 As you can see in the chart below, 235/55R17 has a sidewall height of over 5". Sidewall height 225/50 4.4" 215/55 4.7" 225/55 4.9" 235/55 5.1" 215/60 5.1" 225/60 5.3" 235/60 5.6" 205/65 5.2" 215/65 5.5" 205/70 5.6" 215/70 5.9" 195/80 6.1" I would replace that damaged 7Jx17 ET45 5/112 57.1 alloy rim, rather than trying to repair it. Risking sudden and catastrophic failure just isn't worth it. Perhaps look at a set of 215/60R16 fitted to 6Jx16 ET43 rims, which is a standard Karoq size. That should help prevent the same thing happening again, or at least make it far less likely.
  45. So all VAG group model's with Satnav are now NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE
  46. I understand all that, but a car should be expected to comfortably last for over a decade. We're talking about obsoleting a feature in cars just several years old. One of the feature benefits of my car was built in sat nav. No one from Skoda told me when I bought it that this feature would be crippled in 2023.
  47. You can move the fuse in the upper or lower position behind the glovebox. this will allow you to have a ignition live or permanently live fuse
  48. @mac11irlYes you did. And you sure deserve an assist. Unfortunately I don't know how the assist system works.
