  1. Spotted in the garden earlier
  2. The fluid is tested for moisture content using a conductivity tester. It can be argued that this test may not be complete unless test fluid is taken from the wheel cylinders, rather than at the master cylinder.
  3. Just a quick note to say hi! Took delivery of a new VRS Estate yesterday (Hyper Green of Course) loaded with all the options. Have to admit I'll be sorry to see the F82 M4 go as I've had that 9 years but the first 180 miles suggest I'm going to love the Octavia too!
  4. Some shots from Holy Island. Settings were all over the place for the camera after Knockhill. Didn’t realise til afterwards. Castle is a phone shot.
  5. No worries, we can start here :) First of all, you have a lovely car - I had Yeti too, 2016, and I beleive it was the same colour (Lava Blue). I'm really sorry for your loss. I can see he was not in rush - I can even say he was quite nice as he didn't cut the cables... I can't even count in how many cars I had to repair cables that have been cut... It seems to me you had Amundsen without DAB. If you share your VIN then I can check details and prepare a detailed offer for you.
  6. Search for Brake Fluid Tester...there are many options. They work well from my experience.
  7. Sounds to me like an over/underboost fault with the symptoms you describe. You need to reed the fault codes.
  8. I wouldn't associate a flashing glow plug lamp and engine limp mode to a gearbox fault Wait and see if any codes are stored if any.
  9. You should be thankful that it threw out an Error, and you didn't brick your system. The software on the facelift models (Octavia, Golf, Leon/Formentor) has nothing to do with the pre-facelift, since the hardware is different. Check you software information - you should have a version close to 2650. Do NOT try to install an inferior number version! If you have annoying bugs on your system, try to discuss with the dealership. I've heard rumors about a major update for MiB4, but it's not yet released OTA.
  10. The green one (2012 MkII Fabia estate scout) passed 65K km on the Autobahn today.
  11. How on earth do you test it? Glycol based brake fluid is hygrosopic (absorbs moisture from the air) thus reducing its boiling point. In extreme circumstances, this can lead to brake failure when the fluid boils as a result of heat transfer. The other effect of moisture uptake is corrosion inside the steel components of which there are several.
  12. Spray the lower arm bushes with silicon and see if the noise goes away for a bit.

Warning:- some versions/ages of this 1.0TSI engine have a single small bolt holding the air cleaner down, not looking for that first, and removing it, will end up with something getting broken.

Hi, i have a fabia 2010 1.2 petrol, when i tried to drive it,it felt like it was in limp mode, it runs ok but wont rev over 3000rpm and sounds bogged down, all pipes are on, brand new exhaust and camshaft sensor, but still not working properly. Some say timing jump, if anyone else has come across the same problems, can you please help.
  16. I tried using SWDL, but it turned out to be useless and didn’t work. I still ran the update with the same software that’s currently installed. From the whole update, only the postscript part was executed, and as I understand it, that was the key step. After that, I found out that Seat and Cupra had also updated the maps on their website and released version P141 24.12. I copied it to a USB stick, formatted in NTFS with a GPT partition scheme, and tried updating - and it worked. Then I uploaded the latest version, P154 25.6, and it was successfully installed as well. Hopefully this will be useful for someone. P.s. after "reapplying" the software update, the radio database version changed from 1.31.56 to 1.31.48, so I think that’s what helped the maps install, by resetting something in the MIB versions.

This is my new SE L 1.5 DSG. Note the 'Hydrus' alloy wheels, which replaced the 'Procyon' with the aero inserts (from around June/July according to the dealer)
  18. Turns out I got the dreaded curved badges, and the flat ones cost a lot more and still aren't a straight swap. I'm definitely tempted to print something to fit these badges given that they're so common.
  19. I'm certainly no specialist either - Spent my whole life looking at equalisers on proper hifi systems and only really knocking the treble up for the 90's eurodance I used to listen to!!! :) I'm going to get out with a dremel cutter tomorrow if I can and try it. Can't hurt, right?
  20. I'm not a sound specialist but seeing all iV models with Canton have this issue... Just try it.

I sent you both link for update to MEN2_EU_SKGPx_P0080L_8755, I hope it helps.
  22. What about 2000 rpm in other gears? If no, then more likely final drive than engine. Same if no vibration in neutral at 2100 rpm as asked above. Maybe it's just how buzzy the diesel is.
  23. One could also argue that seeing as condensation is generally fresh, demineralised water, it won't be conductive, so won't show up in a conductivity test. You need ions, so from salt or corrosion products to see the moisture as a conductivity reading, and without knowing the TDS and the composition of those ions, it's a pretty random number. Personally I'd just change the brake fluid from time to time.
  24. Unplug the single wire connection and see if there's oil inside the connector. That's a sure sign it has failed.
  25. I'd have thought everything would be pretty much up to temperature after 15 minutes, even with fairly gentle driving.
  26. Do you get the vibration when stationary and revving the engine to 2000-2100 rpm?
  27. Oil on the plug is not OK - it means either that plug isn't firing, or there is a significant problem with the cylinder.
  28. They are firmer than the standards so stops the exhaust from swaying and causing a clunking noise
  29. In which case, you need to have a compression test done, then find the reason for no spark on number one cylinder.
  30. so i've had the B16's installed for about 3 years i think and at that time i had installed top mounts from a Golf R and start off the bat they were creaking, however i think there were 2 things, first was the spring wasnt seat position wasn't correct, I've been told you just need to rotate it round and Im not sure if its marked on the spring or the perch so will investigate when i get done, second the top mounts creaked when doing a full lock or when driving over speed bumps. Now with the Arteon top mounts, i've notice the steering feels slightly lighter and the full locking creaking is minimum maybe its masked by the the spring creak. I think yours if mostly the top mount if it only happens over speed bumps, my passenger side spring is creaking most of the time!
  31. Did it look good straight after they changed the fluid? Maybe they did change the fluid in the reservoir but didn't flush the lines
  32. hello, I have a Skoda Octavia 4 fl with 13' navigation, I tried to update as it says here, but this message appears
  33. Can't help with black, but in the wifemobile (Lexus) the "arch" on top of the grille was some chrome that started peeling like some of the interior parts in Skodas ... I had to replace it, I could not find at the time who could "re-chrome" it or lacquer it. yours being black, you could have it repainted
  34. No,no wasn't a mistake from you, from Google translate it's impossible some things to explained-clarified correctly. ''Philotimo'' can not be translated in other languages via Google, in English is ''Pride'' but is completely different ,eaning. For example ''screwing'' is used in Slang for sexual activity in British language but in translation to Greek is ''twisting the screwdriver'' and it's a term that every man-woman uses it. On the other hand ''Pipe'' is a word that used here for 3 reasons: 1) a cylinder for liquid or gas transfer 2) a ''device'' to smoke tobacco for example briar pipe or meerschaum 3) oral sex so it's normal here to say ''get a 20mm pipe'' (grab a metal pipe from the shelf) or ''i do pipe only at weekends" (i am smoking only at weekend) but you can't say to a girl-woman ''get me a pipe'' because this means ''do to me an oral sex'' and that's offending and can led you to court-jail or in a fight if you say it to a man. The Americans say '' i am going to the head'' and they mean the ''WC" but if you translate it in Greek does not make any sense, the same is with their ''i know nothing" because translated in Greek it's oxymoron and everyone will laugh if you say it this way. On the other hand for us it's extremely difficult to understand movies with ''Victorian'' era English words (not Slang) because the schools at English lessons here never mention them. Many words here for car parts are from France language for example every Greek especially at '50-70's era was saying: ''parbrige'' (in French is pare-brise) and means the Wind shield ''ambragiage" (in French is embrayage) and means the Clutch ''portbagage'' (in French is Porte bagage) and means the Boot ''volan'' (in French is Volant) and means the Steering wheel ''marspie" (in French is Marchepied) and means the Running board ''reprige'' (in French is Reprise) and means the Acceleration from 80-110 Km speed ''capo'' (in French is Capot) and means the Bonnet etc...
  35. A few from Waddington earlier this morning (Cobra Warrior)..........
  36. Lower mileage fabia vrs? There really isn't much similar.
  37. Yep this sensor can affect lots of others. What a pain. Good to hear you’ve temporarily put the problem to bed. The sensors are not dear so maybe replace it.

Hi and welcome to Briskoda 👍
  39. @logiclee Correction, the contact at your indy has been away and has just got back to me today. It would be good to get the professionals view on this so I'll give him a shout next week.
  40. This is probably one of those rare times when I registered on a forum just to say thank you to the person who came up with the idea of flipping the connector. It’s just freaking incredible! In two minutes, the sound in my Superb iV completely changed. I don’t even know what to say. I stumbled upon this forum by accident while looking for ways to improve the stock audio. Thanks again!
  41. On my TSI I have changed them three times and never had a problem at all. Always just come out, without using any special tools / tricks. Thanks. AG Falco
  42. Hiya! Documented the installation of the XTRONS IQ90MTVL In-Car Entertainment system as a replacement for my ailing Amundsen unit in the hopes that somone else finds it useful. Please note that I'm not a mechanic, have never done anything like this before, and essentially haven't a clue what I'm doing, however, this was in the end possible to do with a high degree of success. 🙂 Enjoy! Installing the XTRONS IQ90MTVL in a Skoda Yeti-compressed.pdf
  43. P0407 refers to the EGR valve and P0046 to the turbo actuator, neither are related to DPF sensor you've already changed.
