  1. Hi I'm living in Sweden and i own an Enyaq 2021. I found this forum when searching for information about the issue with sos backup battery. Here I found a solution to reset the varning light and I became so happy I just had to create an account to say my praise. Thank you @kkitanov Regards Tobias
  2. UPDATE: So, we finally got the car back this morning. It went in over two weeks ago once we knew the hydraulic/ABS system had a fault. Garage contacted VW for the part only to be told that it is on back order with no idea when (or even if) it would be available. Garage then started to make further enquiries and found a small company that said they could actually repair the "ABS pump module" (as I now know it is called) and actually managed to do it! So part was returned, refitted with no callout for a programmer to recode a new one. Entire job originally expected to be between £2 and £2.5 ended up being £980. Including all the original testing and determining the fault. As far as I am concerned, that's a win. As someone said upthread, it's great to have a good local garage.
  3. SOLVED. Cheap AliExpress radio messing with k-line. Chatgpt told me to check that has usual fault. Thank you all.
  4. But is it not true that the higher-than-average earners and the already wealthy people do their level best to avoid as many forms of taxation as it is possible to do? In lots of cases, they even have their bank accounts and savings done where they can get away from tax? Now give the lower earners more money in their pocket; they are the ones that are most likely to go out and spend it on other things, amassing the things that they think the those with more money already have, and in doing so, put money into the country's coffers?
  5. But, the Chancellor and the Government on purpose fail to see the bigger picture which is, if people have more money left from lower costs for transport they spend it on something else. But if the are higher than average earners with more money than needed it could be on foreign holiday, or even 2nd homes. Tax the frequent fliers then and tax holidays homes x3. It is like Benefits and allowances, people spend and money stays in the economy. As it is with car buying it is the Chinese economy benefiting the most now it seems, be it BEV,s PHEV,s or ICE Cars.
  6. So despite your argument to the contrary there was still a net reduction in contributions to the Chancellor's coffers that needs to be 'redressed' by some other means...
  7. I understand that, but it could just be the result of a poor connection causing a heat rise in the socket of the car and thus possible welding of the connection pins/tubes or the plug and socket combo. This bad connection could be located either on the car itself or in the plug connected to the charger. This is right in my wheelhouse, and as a fully qualified electrical engineer, I have seen this scenario play out many times before on all kinds of plug/socket interfaces. I do not have to have any experiences with owning or driving an EV to be able to have an appreciation and an understanding of the various failure modes that can exist in electrical systems. That fact alone could also be the cause of some car fires, just as it can be the cause of many other fires, like the overloading of extension leads, etc., which also causes fires.
  8. Today Škoda Superb L&K 2018 140kw 2.0 TDI 4x4 car had rear and front discs and rear and front brake pads replaced. New discs from Zimmermann Front: 100.3300.20 Rear: 600.3252.20 Total: €172.81 New brake pads from TRW: Front: GDB1956 Rear: GDB1957 Total: €55.12 Discs and brake pads in total: €227.93
  9. Mine is the same one, from the same seller. @leolito so that’s two of us who have this version working on a Superb III.
  10. That's a lot of errors for one system. I'd be checking all fuses, then see if there's any corrosion in the ABS module plug, after that, I'd suspect damage to the wiring loom.
  11. Just wondering here if the boot torch should be on all the time? Been looking at several different Superbs via autotrader just out of boredom and I notice all the pics in the boot show the torch as on. I noticed mine was always on and on investigation found the terminals to be corroded from the leaky washer hose pipe so have removed and cleaned everything up ready to fit new batteries when they arrive. I`m assuming it should only come on if the boot is opened and on removal you should be able to turn on and off via the button? If as before , it is on when boot is shut would assume its either knackered or still and issue with the terminals for connection?

Memory saver is not necessary. The system is clever enough to reinitialize everything properly. You just need to drive for 400-500m (or 1/4 mile) to have all fault codes vanishing from your dashboard. They'll just be logged. But you can delete them from all concerned Control Units memory with VCDS, if you want. This being said, if you use a memory saver, it could possibly prevent you from having this "Xmas tree" effect on your dashboard upon engine start, once the new battery has been connected.
  13. No not missed that news. You didn't answer my questions though... I asked you to clarify what areas of our lives we have looked at more closely as a result of the in Iran and why and what transport will be different because of it in the future. You response above is just deflection and whataboutery...
  14. Hi Marvin, welcome. I'm sure you will get along well in the Yeti, and other, sections of this site. - https://www.briskoda.net/forums/forum/170-%C5%A1koda-yeti/
  15. 'Gulf War 3' Higher fuel prices because of it are certainly resonating in my pocket.
  16. Thanks nta16, I reached the same conclusion myself. I looked up on Youtube the procedure for changing the washer pump. The pump and washer bottle are behind the front bumper, and to access it (and its electrical and water connections) the first step is to remove the front wheel and then remove the wheel arch liner, which is held in place by several T25 screws. After that, the rest is easy. If that's how it is, I only want to do the dismantling step once. So I have ordered an aftermarket pump for £10.48 on Amazon (it was the same price on eBay, but on Amazon I can get it next day). We'll see how I get on.
  17. 'Noon today 1/3rd of electricity was from solar'. Just heard on the Radio. No idea if This Country, that often being England. Or the UK, or was it The British Isles. PM on Radio 5 never that good and stating facts.
  18. There may be a physical switch for the internal alarm sensors at the base of the B-pillar. Otherwise, locking the vehicle by pressing the 'lock' button on the fob twice in quick succession leaves the vehicle locked but with deadlocks and alarm deactivated.
  19. That was on my mind to ask next. Glad you got it sorted. Its amazing how a radio can affect them. Last one I read was no OBD2 connection/communication Alasdair
  20. Worth a listen to, on now or on BBC Sounds. BBC Radio 4. 'Currently' Power to the People : Rewiring Britain.
  21. It is not about you and you being comfortable with it, it is more about whether the whole overall picture is right. Perhaps we should make sure first and foremost that as many countries as possible become energy secure by using their own natural resources. Bring manufacturing back to the countries where the consumers are instead of shipping finished products around the globe. That would reduce the overall level of emissions coming from both cargo planes and ships. Bring employment back so more people are able to contribute by way of taxes and thus reduce the amount of benefits having to be given out. The fact that sales of EVs dried up is the true sign that the public can see the true picture that many EV'ers cannot see. The offerings are not yet capable of being considered as a direct replacement for everyone. When they become considered as such is when they don't cost a premium, and everyone can enjoy the all the benefits that currently only some can and for those that can't take advantage because they need the range etc. of an ICE car, that can see that they are not being made to feel inferior or treated like second class citizens and made to pay through the nose for the fuel.
  22. Came accross similar in my folks old MK1. Service kept coming on at 6 month intervals. Garage said it may have changed as it was only used for very very short runs and as never got up to temp properly may need oil etc checked more frequently. They reset it to annual service. Alasdair.
  23. Check out the video, just clips. Very easy to take off, in my case it helped a lot to reduce the squeaking noise.
  24. I agree with ABS sensors including wiring to them . Theres something not right. It would perhaps explain tire pressure code, power steering and transmision code as well as the ABS errors. I would check all earths especially ABS and ECU and inspect wiring loom and connectors to ABS/ECU etc as well as relevant fuses and check if theres a relay involved. Alasdair
  25. Personally, being a fairly low milage driver nowadays Then it's always all 4 as by the time they are worn they are also old. Generally speaking tyres should be replaced between 6 and 10 years old even if they are not worn to the legal limit of tread. We have a 4x4 in the garage and that always has all 4 done at the same time. As a minimum I'd do the pair on an axle unless they were very new when the puncture occurred. You can tell the age of the tyre by looking at the 4 digit code on the sidewall. It's just 4 numbers, the first 2 are week no, and the last 2 are year. (1226 - this would mean made in week 12 of 2026)
  26. there is also a possibility that it have been changed it via vcds, in my fabia i've switched to 9k km
  27. Hello everybody! First time poster here, although I’ve been following this forum for a long time (since before I could even drive :D). I thought it would be a good time to become an active member. Thanks to the community for all the info throughout the years.
  28. To be clear, you definitely have a water pump leak. The water pump is located on the gearbox side of the engine (and as mentioned above) under the intake manifold. The pump is driven from the balancing shaft by its own drive BELT. The pump should be changed with the thermostat (actually a rotary distributor) housing and the belt. That costs about 1000€/pound at a non-dealer mechanic, more at the dealer. If going to a non-dealer mechanic, go someplace they are used to work on these jobs. If the mechanics talk about the timing chain, go away ...
  29. Main reason I changed to AGM on my motorbikes is that in some cases the paintwork on the frames or swing arms had been damaged due to a badly positioned vent pipe and if I ordered a new battery online you had to fill it with acid which I was never that happy with having to do. Some owners have also used Li-Ion batteries though you have to be wary of low temperature use. With older vehicles they don't care about battery type as volts are volts as far as they are concerned!
  30. This is the one I have https://a.aliexpress.com/_ExEgR7K
  31. It’s from Waze. It does that when you exceed the speed limit.
  32. For this very reason, I've turned off the "virtual pedal" foot sensor which opens/closes the boot. Don't miss that particular function in the slightest, and can now lean into the boot without it trying to eat me.
  33. For anyone lurking around the forums and looking for solutions; I have fixed the issue, the wiring loom has been damaged in the rubber grommet that feeds the wires from the body to the boot lid, I purchased a new harness for the rear boot from http://skoda-parts.com/ , you can add your cars VIN number so it displays which parts are fitting on your vehicle and which are not. For anyone undertaking this on their own, it's a relatively finnecky job, but it's not as difficult if you just take your time, we put rope at the ends of the old harness so we could fish out the new harness connectors so we don't have to dig around through the boot lid, and the plastic trims that you have to remove were a bit annoying due to the metal clips but are a lot easier to take off than put back on. https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/288429-removing-tailgate-interior-trim/ - boot trim removal post https://www.skodabook.ru/en/Yeti/5L/body/interior/snyatie-i-ustanovka-otdelochnyh-paneley-kuzova - interior plastic panel removal post
  34. Mine has no alarm, from factory. It's never gone wrong. 😁
  35. The braking faults 0668 could be caused by a low power connection to ABS or bad earth but you seem to have a fair range of faults mainly electrical What is the condition and age of battery. Might be worth checking voltage with engine off. A low battery can cause all manner of problems. Also check the fuses in engine bay near battery for corrosion or looseness as well as earth points etc. Alasdair
  36. The claim: We're moving to LED because they will outlast the vehicle. The reality: Well they would if we didn't install the cheapest, lowest quality garbage we can get our hands on, to hopefully limp through the warranty period...

Before disconnecting the battery make sure all windows and sunroof are fully shut and all electric items are switched off. In the 'Owner's Manual' is says about needing code for radio but it seems that is wrong by all the reports from owners I've seen. You do loose trip (mileage) memories, though I've no idea about mpg memory or for electric chairs.

I didn't do it when I changed my battery and there were no problems. I just opened the bonnet, turned off the ignition and waited a bit of time until all the noises stopped from the engine bay. No settings were lost and everything worked fine on the next start without doing anything to the car.
  39. Well, I can't give any advice for aftermarket units (especially chinese ones based on Android) but if you would like to get MIB STD2 PQ unit you can contact me. It should also be possible to repair your Columbus, this seems like a typical failure of PowerPIC that requires just resoldering.
  40. I've had the exact same problem in very similar situations. I live in a city with chaotic traffic (Florence), which certainly wasn't even remotely conceived in the minds of whoever designed the system. With the old Octavia III, I never had a problem reversing with the classic sensors; when needed, it braked just in time. But with the Superb, it was stressful. My three-year-old daughter was in the car, and she was terrified by a seemingly unprovoked braking. Not to mention the new brakes, which I don't think appreciate these violent brakings during the break-in process. For now, I deactivate the collision sensor as soon as I get in the car. It's simply dangerous. It seems absurd to me that I can't control such an immature option. And it ****es me off because the car is wonderful if it weren't for this bull****.
  41. As closure here - changed today with no major dramas... Main wheel hub bolt was very tight to come off alright, so I went with the 200+90degree's on reassembly. Thankfully I was also able to maneuver the brake disk off without taking the carrier off. The caliper could be removed from the carrier with just some awkward 7mm allens (hidden under little plastic caps). It was then swung out of the way and suspended with a bungie cord, and I had plenty off access to remove disk, and hub then. Reassembled, codes cleared, and test drive stayed all clear - happy days
  42. I successfully installed P0468T on a 18 plate Rapid. From memory it had only P02xxx installed from the factory. Can't say I noticed any changes whatsoever. Maybe a slight change to the graphics but that's about it.
  43. Sounds like an issue with the steering wheel... I believe some have capacitative sensors in the wheel to detect you are holding it and some have had issues.
  44. If you have ObdEleven It is possible to reset the learned values for the battery (and thus the rSoH) without having to install a new battery (cost approx. €350-500). It is suspected that VW Group does nothing different in the TPI. Instructions for OBD11 Pro: 1. Open the hood and leave the driver's door open 2. Connect the OBD11 dongle to the OBD port in the driver's side footwell + start the software. 3. Select control unit 75 / Telematic 4. Check error code: B1916F2 / Backup Battery critical 5. Live data: If Backup_Battery_rSoH <= 50%, then the SOS message is active on the display and the LED is red. 6. Basic settings: Activate the emergency call battery history reset (press the green checkmark). OBD11 may not provide any confirmation of the reset. Simply go back and complete the remaining steps. 7. Error memory: Delete error B1916F2 (press and hold the trash can icon) 8. Live data: Request Backup_Battery_rSoH: 100% 9. Ignition off / Ignition on (Warning message is now gone and the status is green again) Enyoj ...

Yesterday I have replaced my 5Q0 121 407 F with 5Q0 121 407 AA. I also haven't found any information about the F version anywhere. The "mit silikat" marking wasn't there, but the G13 marking was, so I just replaced it to be sure. Today I cut the tank open and it was completely empty. The only difference I found between the tanks is that the F version has the G13 marking and the AA version has no marking at all. Maybe this information will help someone and they won't have to change the tank unnecessarily like I did.
  46. Clarkson not even a good British farmer, not been to Agricultural college abd it shows. Governments act or sometimes the right action is not to act. Israel, Iran and US, with the Gulf states as side actors, have chosen certain paths overvthe last few weeks, months, years and decades to bring us where we are today. I think many how foolish it was to rely on the pricing and supply of a remote and despotic region. This should logically spur on the adoption of more renewable and local powet generation and fuel for transportation. The policy of the different hues of UK political parties has been to financially encourage EV adoption as well using heat pump technology. Both have come on leaps and bounds in the last decade or so to make them level in many regards to fossil fuel versions and in some ways vastly superior ie running costs. One thing is fairly certain that Gulf War 3 has prompted us all to look more closely at components of our lives. The meeting at Downing St with industry to discuss the fuel hike price issues did leak a few points. I presume they may have signed NDAs but main thing i heard was a request to delay the hike in fuel Excise duty in September. Government would have asked dirsek and petrol retailer why they hiked so fast and so high. There was a report to parliament in late March ie about 2 weeks ago. Think it was saying retailers were on to make over a billion pounds on there preemptive and exorbitant actions on price. J would be angry if I was a fuel buyer, particularly diesel. Act of God is a colloquial term used for Force Majeur. Smart contracts gave clauses to pass on certain types of supply chain cost surprises. Whilst my recently left international logistics employer is one of the biggest in airfreight, rail freight and sea freight and contracts have such clauses it is oft that such companies are not massive road freight providers leaving it to smaller independent firms who i am afraid are very exposed as their contracts are not usually as watertight and tend to go bust in these sorts of times sadly. I don't think transport is going to be the same after GW3. Some might think that is a good think in the end !!
  47. The Uk and other countries, like the largest European economy of Germany, tried a period of not giving EV grants but sales dried up and they did not get the net billions of Euros of tax and were not going to hit their emmissions targets so they reintroduced the grants. Who can say which was the dominant factor ie net tax income or emissions target or fairly equal. Didn't influence my decisions or my decision to give up my fuel card which was worth a grand or two a year. My decesion was based on no me finding it unacceptable to keep on polluting not financial. For many, particularly thise using salary sacrifice system for EVs I suspect it was mainly financial. Whether it is Con party or Labour running the scheme they gave acred similarly. I can live with my conscious as I reckon I pay about 4 times what the median tax payer pays ie average is about £5k tobm £6k where i have paid closer to £20k each year in the last few years. The 5 year old £3k grant for car and charger and recent £1500 for the 5 is chicken feed to the circa £100k in income tax and NI in that period paid.
  48. Dont see it that way Graham. I pay tens of thousands in tax every year. I did not apply for the EV grant it is just the dealer who did the paperwork. He would have looked at me very strangely if I said no thanks. Possibly would have claimed it and added it to their margin. I have been a massive net tax contritutor. Don't use ISAs and happy to pay tax on interest on savings over the limited allowed. Like the EV grant my employer operated Salary Sacrifice in to pensions. Only opt out is to not pay anything in to pension which lets them off their contribution so as with the EV grant it is not sensible to not get it. There tends to be rules with all these schemes, minimum values to get it so the government never losses out and always gets a net receipt with it. Now Heat Pump grants is an entirely different scenario and scale. £7.5k grant, reportedly going to £9k or even £12k in certain circumstances ie low income. Now there is some big handouts but sound like we can get people off gas and heating oil and on to cheap lecky.
  49. EV buyers, adopters still pay far more than they get in the handouts. I got the biggest handouts under the Con government ie £3k, the VAT on the car was about £6k so tax v handout was still a sizeable net receipt rather than handout for government. Scenic did not get a handout and wax actually a lower RRP than the Zoe such is the dramatic fall in EV cost. The Renault 5, bought under the Lab government reign got a handout half the size than under the Cons and I was either expecting or motivated by it as it came along after I ordered it. Again the handout was less than the half the size of the VAT on the car so government a real net gainer on the tax versus handout. It is like the net effect is that the VAT rate for EVs being lower than Standard rate rather than a big handout! Then there is the massive tax one gets on a car allowance which the government gets. In my case that was £3,600 a year of tax being paid. With ICE cars there was also the tax being paid on fuel on a fuel card, both by the employer and the employee which the government starts to miss and has to find elsewhere which is another dimension. The big miss on net taxation is where tax payers get to use the EV salary sacrifice scheme. Introduced by the Con government the tax avoidance on that can be massive. I was looking enviously at the numbers on an Audi etron where instead of paying £1300 a month one could be paying £900, a near £5k a year saving, or loss to government. All done by Cons of Lab to help achieve the lowering of pollution and reliance on non UK energy I suppose.
