EPC Light and Stop Start Error
Sorry I completely forgot to update this thread. The diags showed a historical fault, same fault as you - P01100 Intake Air Temp sensor 1 bank 1 circuit range/performance. The guy said this was to do with the MAFS. Either the battery was low, and that threw the reading, or the MAFS saw unfeasible value and saw that as a sensor fault, and when the external temperature reduced next day, all was fine. Anyway the code was cleared and I've not had a repeat, but I have made a conscious effort to park out of the sun on the hottest of days.

Screenwash tank, drastic leak - hard to replace?
I should add that the windscreen wipers, front and back, do work. The problem with the rear washer is that it doesn't pump any water. I can live without it, to be honest (I learned to drive in a Morris Minor, I don't think it even HAD a rear windscreen wiper) - but having the front windscreen washer not functioning, that IS a pain.

Screenwash tank, drastic leak - hard to replace?
The screenwash reservoir / bottle / tank (not sure of correct name!) on my Roomster has a very dramatic leak. I fill it, the water pours right out. I haven't yet tried to access it. Are they difficult to replace? Could the leak be from a connector rather than the container itself? I'm loathe to order a new one before checking, in case it's just not coupled up properly. (I have a bit of an ongoing saga; since I bought the car, the back windscreen washer has never worked; seemed it needed a new pump; seller replaced the pump but it still didn't work, and they concluded it was an electrical problem; told me they need to get an electrical diagram for the car, since then, have gone worryingly unresponsive to contact.) Because the back washer wasn't working - and I didn't know if trying to use it was resulting in water ending up somewhere inside the panelling* - I also avoided using the front washers. Hence, it took me a long time to register this problem... thought I was just mis-remembering when I had topped it up! *some signs of water staining in the boot that I was suspicious of

Removing Tailgate Interior Trim
Late reply as I have just done it using a wooden spatula - cracked it open to find the number plate lighting wire that had been 'lost' and pushed it back into place with very positive pressure. Looks secure, feels secure.

Karoq gearbox doesn't creep?
Glad we have been able to help. I tend to only turn auto hold off for such things as parking and switch it on for Driving. I did this with both my previous dsg cars With my car now being an ev i find it more important because it ties in with the emergency braking function when it thinks you are approaching something too fast. if you can creep properly it doesn't activate.

Yeah replacing the sensor resolved all the issues. Think the one I got was from Euro Car Parts.

What to look for when buying
So just had half an hours play during lunch and new pollen filter in (old one was pretty manky), new rear wiper blade fitted (had a spare refill in the garage) and a new green auto headlight switch from Aliexpress fitted and working as it should. Wheelarch liners on the list when I have a day free...

Door loom T27a plug pinning on car side
Hi I am looking to retrofit aftermarket blind spot detection lights in the wing mirrors and researching how to get two wires out to the door. Many moons ago when adding speakers to the doors of my mk3 golf, I drilled a hole through both sides of the plug to create a hole to thread a cable through. I am keen to do things with a bit more finesse. There seems to be plenty of availability for the door side of the plug e.g. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Wiring-Harness-Replacement-1K0937702C-1K0959843C/dp/B0F7R9DHXW or even indivual wires with the pins on, but I cant seem to find anything for the car side of the plug. Or is the car side full of wires and I would just need to cut one that is unused currently to tap in to? Thanks

Fuel Tank Cap Replacement Seal
I had this come up as an advisory (the only one!) on the last MOT and I just got one from ebay. the OG one was quite cracked and the replacement was just a large O-Ring. (the OG one had the groove all the way around it but the new one did not) it doesn't appear to have caused a problem. it closes, it clicks, it seals.) I'd have been livid if I'd been told over £60 to replace that!

AC coolant level/ system function indicator?
Hm. Well. Okay. I just finished an 1800km drive through the continental European summer heat, and while I hope that what I felt was just the flu (yeah, somehow I caught the flu in the summer, ugh!) I am not 100% certain that the air conditioning was always working up to snuff. So, since my older generations OBDeleven device can't capture and graph live data, and before I shell out €85 for a current generation OBDelevent device, are there any other diagnostic port readers that you Briskodans would recommend over the OBDeleven gen3 device (without going up to a €1000+ professional kit)? many thanks,

Activating SmartLink on Swing 3
That's the expected outcome. There's a small possibility that, for some reason, the USB was disabled when you first reset the multimedia to factory settings. Or that the USB got some internal error and stored error code, until you delete error code in 5F module it will be disabled. It's certainly not possible to solve this without diagnostics. Cheapest option would be some Real HEX-V2 VCDS clone (FlyOBD is best) on Ali for 50€, it pay itself very quickly.

Activating SmartLink on Swing 3
I've unplugged and reconnected the entire radio about five times already, so I should get it right at least once :D Today I tried uploading the original .bin file, and sure enough, the USB port is still not visible. I'm waiting for a new USB port and I'll start replacing it. Maybe it was damaged earlier, after I used it to change the station logo. I use it to power my dashcam every day.

the truth about electric cars
Many luxury cars are incredibly low mileage though, tend to spent a lot of time in warm garages and lower spec cars become daily drivers.

Karoq gearbox doesn't creep?
@Stonekeeper yes it’s the delay and also the sensitivity of the throttle pedal sensor. I ve read on posts previously that this sensitivity can be adjusted via VAGCOM. We’ve owned 3 different versions of the DSG gearbox: 6 speed DQ250 wet clutch with 2.0 TDI, 7 speed DQ200 dry clutch 1.2 TSI 110 bhp (Fabia) and 7 speed DQ381 2.0 TSI (Karoq). Combination of 6 speed and 2.0 TDI had no perceptible creep delay probably due to diesel low down torque, most noticeable delay is with the Fabia - it’s a smaller engine and it’s a 2015 so DSG and engine software have no doubt been improved since. The 2.0 TSI Karoq, once I mastered the technique, is as good as the 6 speed.

Karoq gearbox doesn't creep?
Sounds like it's an art learnt over time. I think the problem might be that because we are relying on sensors on the pedals the reliability is governed by them maintaining their accuracy. The thing i noticed is the delay or latency in the detection. With autohold on when you release the brake and touch the accelerator pedal if it doesn't move the temptation is to press harder which if it then kicks in can have negative consequences. Once you learn the latency it's safer.

Which Octavia Scout would you choose?
I honestly can't remember whether the doors had standard door cards in them. I have to assume they would. I've looked at other cars and keep coming back to the scout. The reason is that I do some work with Forestry England in Kielder Forest and my poor 2014 Focus doesn't have a huge amount of ground clearance. I've had to reattach the exhaust heat shields a couple of times. I looked at having the suspension raised but I don't like to modify the car and the insurance company weren't too impressed when I told them even though they cover me to compete in clubman status rallies. Haha. As I'm involved in rallying, I know exactly what is required, and my little old diesel Focus wouldn't really be the car for it, even if I wanted to, cage, extinguishers, etc.
