  2. Nice @Lee01 ! which part of Germany is that? I'm not familiar enough with Waterlooville to know its twin towns... Wikipedia suggests Henstedt-Ulzburg which is not far at all from my favourite place in Germany: Hamburg (I did a year there on an Erasmus exchange)
  3. ("I work for Ford so no BS.") not a question that a technical minded person would ask as they'd know what "Bank1" and "Bank2" refers to. These VW Group 3 cylinder engines are only GDI. I thought that that Ford engine was an Ecoboom engine type, no?

  6. Just to ask again, can anyone confirm that the button marked above for the tilt relates to the seat base angle, please.
  7. Remember that the "forever" is for the life of the belt, when it fails it will cause a lot of engine damage. Typically, a cambelt in a 2012 Fabia has a recommended service life of 5 years - but do include your engine type/code.
  8. Welcome to Briskoda @Ali-B My old neck of the woods (Bishopstoke/ Hedge End etc) and now I'm in a town in Germany twinned with Waterlooville
  9. Hi! I'm Ali from somewhere around the Southampton/Portsmouth Hampshire coast (not saying which as it's neither... ) I've been lurking for a while as My wife picked up a Fabia Mk III SE in Rallaye Green (Kermit!) last summer and it's been one of the most surprising cars I've ever been custodian of (lets face it, we never own these things, they are like cats... they let you look after them on their terms!) it's a 1.2 4 pot 90BHP and I never thought I'd say such great things about such a 'small' engine. It's essentially been pulling double duty as our main car as my car was supposed to be able to fill in the role of doing bigger drives etc but it's not had a great year with a catalogue of issues that sprung up since october taking it off the road and losing confidence until the final nail in it's coffin came when on the way to the garage to check out a few issues it started a new "whine" which ended up being the alternator lunching itself... so the combo of things all cropping up at the same time has relegated it to the status of "project car" and as I don't have space, time, funds or energy for a project car right now, it's going to be someone else's project car... :'( However that leads me to the second reason I've joined and that's due to acquiring a very low mileage ( 38K i.e. pensioner owned - gulp!) late '12 Octavia Mk2 Elegance in Dark Blue (Dynamic Blue?) and since it's missing a few options I'd have liked it to have had, I decided it was finally time to actually sign up - now that we're a 2-Skoda family...

  12. Hello world I am somehow fan of Skoda for years. Dad had 3 of them. All cars that I owned had audio modified with OEM look. This one is the best on SQ.

  15. Today
  16. Info such as which engine type you are asking about, for example. 2012 Fabias were made with a fair selection.

  18. Hi, I have recently acquired a 2026 Kamiq. I have scraped one of the alloy wheels and have a quote for repair. However the repairer as flagged up that the car may have ADAS technology and it may need recalibration after the repair. Can anybody tell me what the story is with this and is it likely to be a problem?
  19. Hello i have a 2015 mk3 lauren and klement octavia estate fitted with a columbus unit i have the ece2024 maps installed, i downloaded the latest map HIGH 12 F P350 EU 202345 from a link on here, when i installed the map it only lets me see the route from a distance of 25 miles and i cannot zoom in, any ideas??? Or can anyone put a link to the latest maps that work properly??
  20. Sawtoothing of tyre treads or failing wheel bearing can be common causes of droning noises - as can loosening exhaust baffles. Does drone frequency change with vehicle or engine speed? Does it change depending on throttle setting?

  22. Yes same signs as mine
  23. Literally get the car up whether ramp or jack get underneath and grab propshaft near the coupling and try to move it side to side or up and down. It can also be checked visually for signs of perishing. My car has 52k miles so around 80k km?
  24. Yeah I'd never thought about it myself but been getting vibrations in lower speeds and it turns out to be this.... getting the part ordered and will replace soon as possible
  25. Hi @pab567 , I have a Bolero MIB 1 radio in my Škoda: 5E0 035 840 A / HW 041 / MSTD_EU_SK_P3420 / MU 0435 Could you please send me a link to the software?

  27. It's an in-line 3! I work for Ford so no BS. This engine is a copy of our IL3 Fox 1.0L that won Engine of the Year 5 years in a row from Engine Technology International. That this Pcode exists suggests there is also a bank 2 Pcode. Is there something in the Powertrain Controls that explains this? Does it mean pre & post cat HEGO and CMS? I haven't looked, but is this engine both GDI and PFI as per Fox IL3?
  28. I may have missed it, but is this a genuine private seller? An independent inspection would still be your best move - but if the asking price matches or is beneath vehicle status and condition and is acceptable to you, I guess worth a punt.
  29. @lol-lol There has been for decades now, makers like Ford taking cars made by others and badging them. This is nothing new; it is not an EV thing. In many cases the cars are indeed a joint venture between 2 or more makers, where each will make various parts and then 1 will be nominated to do the final assembly. As for the owner taking their car to a firm like Cleevely EV, it is something that only a handful of car enthusiasts would think about, as most owners will stick with the brand's dealer network, especially while it is under warranty. Ford Capri is really a VW ID4 under the skin; hell, loads of people are unaware that Skoda, VW, Audi, Bentley, Bugatti, Seat, Cupra, Lamborghini, MAN, etc. are even in the same group and share many common parts and many cars beneath the skin have the same platform, running gear etc. Anyone following Mat Armstrong on his YouTube channel should be aware of how other brands take parts from others, stick their logos on them and sell them at massive markups, many times the original price.
  30. Many thanks for taking the trouble to respond, folks. Very much appreciated. I now realise what seems to be happening as I did have the autohold activated. Best wishes
  31. Hi @pab567, Could you please send me the MSTD_EU_SK_P6230 MU0490 firmware? My unit: SW Train: MSTD_EU_SK_P3420 MU: 0435 Part No.: 5E0035874A HW: 041 Thank you!
