Most comfortable option?
We find our sportsline on comfort setting OK but no Bently. Normal is too hard. I reget having the low profile 19" tyres but wanted the sunroof. When the time comes I will fit all season tyres they made a big improvement on two previous cars.

Broken spark plug - ruined engine? 1.4TSI CZCA
Pretty sure they are steel but it may have embedded itself into piston. As warrior193 said do not run engine at all and get it inspected via borescope. Hopefully it will be retrievable without removing head or caused any major damage. Alasdair

What have you done to your Superb III today?
Whilst I wait for the blind spot LEDs to be flown in from china, I started on the front parking sensor retrofit today. I’ll write it up in more detail with parts etc once it’s all in and working. but once again it’s a bumper off job! Holes cut and sensors all installed. They aren’t quite sitting flush but the mount brackets are a different part number to the correct Skoda ones. But they don’t look too bad once all back together though! Next came removing air box, battery and battery tray to try to access the main bulkhead grommet from the engine side. Then glovebox and fuse box to get at it from car side. It’s impossible. I could just about get one finger to it and the current bundle of wires are so tight there’s no way I’m getting anything more through there. Found the grommet for where the clutch would be right near the PDC controller so the plan is to go through that. But as it’s right behind the hot side of the engine I’ve ordered some heat shield conduit for the cables to run through as they cross the top of the bulkhead just in case. So for now it’s all buttoned back up, and as I had some spare time I also installed the new button by the gearstick and the beeper that are required for 8k PDC, including pinning them into the plugs ready for the change over of the PDC controller.

Rust around fuel filler door
Good luck , Having been down this route last year a full service history including having had all the extended scope inspections and the documentary evidence that these had been carried out were crucial in getting Skoda to agree to carry out a full repair on our car. Regarding the first few services if they were carried out by an authorised Skoda Dealer then they should have been recorded on the electronic servicing record which you could request a copy off

Average cost to replace brake pads and discs?
^^ exactly why I will never tinker with the brakes on my car. If I break something that stops it moving, fair enough; if I break something that stops me stopping - that's very bad news!

Soon to be goodbye to my RS
Hope the Elroq serves you well and you enjoy it over the time you have it. I'm not [yet] ready for the jump to EV so am sticking with my 2020 Octavia; its serving me well and I make a lot of use of its boot capacity and fuel economy. Anyway, thank you for your contributions to the Octavia mk4 forum and maybe [metaphorically] see you in the EV pages at some point...

Broken spark plug - ruined engine? 1.4TSI CZCA
Welcome to the forum. The noise is probably the missing plug electrode bouncing around inside the cylinder - don't run the engine any more until any foreign bodies have been removed! I'd suggest using a borescope to inspect the cylinder head, valves and top of piston for damage. The missing outer electrode is possibly ferrous, you may be able to remove it using a magnetic probe.

What have you done to your Superb III today?
12 volt battery replaced today. Decided to go for an AGM over the existing FLB battery as it was only a couple of quid more expensive. Recoded with new technology type and increased Ah. Stop start now works which is nice.

How Do I Stop the Sat Nav?
When following a route, even if by mistake, top left corner is a stop button, it becomes visible when your hand hovers over the screen. If you want to delete a destination: touch and drag left (I think) and a red delete button becomes visible. You can also “escape” from a route by pressing the Nav button.

Should I Choose an Octavia?
Thank you all for your comprehensive replies. I’m reassured that the problems earlier cars had have been corrected now.🤞 With that knowledge I think that we’ll have a trip to the dealer to see how my wife gets on with the Octavia. If she doesn’t It’ll be another Scala. Thank you again.

Electric seats are listed as coming soon in the uk site. Interestingly if you google sport line trim in Ireland there is already a list price out there for it and says will be orderable in q3 sometime. Ireland only getting 50 first editions. Prediction is for the sportline to roll out gradually as the deliveries take place and first editions run out. I do wonder if that’s gonna tie in with different seats and electric adjustment in the sport line. It’s showing approx €37.5k for the 55 sportline in Ireland. No uk price yet , haven’t googled other countries.

I do like the look of the Epiq, and might finally be a move for us from our late model Yeti. identical length to the Yeti, and chunky looking in a much more modern way. There are a couple of options in Europe that we don't seem to be getting though: 1) Lounge interior with brown faux leather and creme cloth, that looks premium. 2)Electric front seats

Skoda octavia II 2.0tsi 147kw
Hi, does anyone have experience with a Škoda Octavia vRS 2.0 TSI 147 kW (2010 facelift, Combi)? I used to have one and everyone kept telling me that this engine was a ticking time bomb because it wasn’t considered very reliable. Mine had 223,000+ km. I’m curious if anyone here has one with similar or higher mileage and what your experience has been with the engine.

Greetings to fellow Skoda owners. I have owned an Octavia L&K Estate from almost new in April 2008 (my second Octavia) Until past few months almost faultless. Now cannot diagnose problems or obtain parts ! Regards, Stuart

Rust around fuel filler door
I'm about to go down the route of tacking Skoda UK. My current Citigo is a 67 plate and it has the first signs of rust under the paint around the filler cap. I have caught it really early so it should be relatively easy to sort but I'm sure Skoda will be at their most awkward. I am not the original owner so have no paperwork for the first few services but irrelevant really as the 12 year warranty, as already established, doesn't stipulate it for corrosion from the inside. My local Skoda dealership whom I had a relationship with are no more with Caffyns now the franchise holder which also doesn't fill me with hope. I foresee a long, drawn out process about to start.

Broken spark plug - ruined engine? 1.4TSI CZCA
Afternoon all, is this as bad as I think it is? Bad noise, check engine light, error codes P0300, P0302, P0303. Changed ignition coils on cylinders 2 and 3 which didn't solve the problem so checked the spark plugs. Spark plug on cylinder 2 was missing the tip! It appears to have broken off while in use! The spark plugs were changed 2.5 years ago with Bosch ones. Picture of broken spark plug and video of bad noise attached. Is my brothers diagnosis of "might need a new engine" an accurate one? I'm hoping I can fish the piece out with a long thin magnet, stick a new spark plug in and then everything will be good as new again! Car is a Golf 1.4TSI mk7.5 with the CZCA engine. Sounds like a DPF or EGR problem, you need to do a fault code scan. Your 2016 1.6TDI predates the sort of TDI that uses Adblue.

How Do I Stop the Sat Nav?
I am just about getting to know how to delete previous Sat Nav destinations. But sometimes, the Sat Nav thinks I want to go to the destination when I touch it to delete it and it starts up again. I can't seem to find a way to tell it to stop so that I can try to delete it again without switching the whole thing off, waiting for 20 minutes than trying again. Is there a simple way to tell it to stop and that I don't want to go to the destination again? Thanks.

Soon to be goodbye to my RS
My Elroq has the Maxx Pack, Winter Pack and Driver Pack on it aka ACC, plus the Transport Pack for times when I need a 240v mains supply, also the boot net system. Already buying a few bits and pieces for it like door protectors and organiser trays, next month will see a boot liner, a 3 pin charger added
